    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/238613/trickster-is-just-a-money-grab

What’s wrong with a money grab? To you, this is a game. To Devs, this is a business.

How dare they try releasing content to cater to the extremely various desires of their client base.

Not interested? No one’s forcing anyone to buy this mate.

Well here's the thing about business and making money which it's quite clear that you don't understand how it fully works obviously. People pay money for quality, well designed and tested products that work amongst many other things. People shouldn't have to pay for things that don't work or fall flat because well that's how a business goes out of business, crazy right? Paying for Trickster now in hopes that in the future he becomes more viable is what's called and investment but this isn't an investment this is a product. A product which is a killer who's not middle tier could be better could be worse but completely useless therefore making it a trash product. It's whatever though because I got my refund as well as a handful of other people I know, but unfortunately there's people on platforms or in regions that can't get a refund because of certain policies in place. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy it? Okay? And then? Nobody said anything about that. The problem is businesses should be held accountable for bad products they put out but you have people like you who are convinced in their smooth brain they actually know what they're talking about and are making a valid point by saying well a businesses point is to make money 🤪

No, k-pop and anime fans don't give a #########. (Why is anime even brought up?)

The money grab is in the cosmetics which cost much more than a single DLC.

Well yes they kind of do so you're wrong on that one and why is anime even brought up? Well because I know a couple of people who are big into anime and wanted to buy trickster because they enjoyed the trailer so much. Idk if you've seen the trailer but if you haven't go give it a look and you'll be able to answer your own mind boggling question.

The art team did a great job. I don't like anime or kpop and I love the look of the killer. The idea of his power is fine, he just needs some major buffs or to be a 115% killer to make up for how ######### he is in loops/jungle gyms instead of 110%.

Well that's kind of the problem I don't boot up the game go into killer, select Trickster and stare at him all day, I play the game. So the way he looks doesn't matter when you can't even play him because of all his gameplay issues. The art team did a good job and that's great and then the rest of him got completely destroyed by the way he plays. They had the PTB and barely listened to any of the feedback, they released him like this so now what? Wait for update after update till something finally clicks in their heads and they make him into what he should be? That's just not acceptable when there's literally thousands of people doing their job for them and telling them what he needs.

  • I didn't have an issue with wraith before and I certainly don't have any issues now. Sounds to me like this was written up in a post game rage because you didn't play well. Maybe you just don't know how to play wraith at all, but the fact you think wraith is unplayable shows you don't know what you're talking about. I'm sure you'll have some stupid witty and edgy reply to me though I look forward to it.

To be fair the design, marketing and digital art departments did amazing work on this Chapter. The only team that dropped the ball was the balancing team.

Don't get me wrong Trickster is kinda cool looking and I really enjoyed the trailer and all the art but everything else about him is just a straight up injustice.

  • When someone dies on hook and the entity is taking their body the sound literally rumbles my headphones

  • Yeah I'll never believe these EVERY SINGLE GAME THIS HAPPENS TO ME posts. We know you didn't, we know you're just tilted by the nerf.

  • @Tillablerhino44 said:

Why shouldn't Freddy ba able to transport to the exit gates. Why is his teleport limited to just the gens. I don't get it . Remember me is a slow down door perk. And blood warden also slows survivors from exiting. It is like after the last gen pops he forgets how to use his power it makes no sense

So if you want a logical explanation these are my thoughts and my personal opinion. Once the exit gates are powered the survivors become less fearful or even lose their fear of Freddy altogether as all they have to do is open the exit gates and walk out. So with escape now becoming a reality they become filled with courage and determination rather than pure fear. Which Freddy's power is based on his victims fear for the most part. Keep in mind that his victims were very young teens and kids and not fully grown adults who probably have even more control over their fear than a child.

In the first movie I believe, Nancy turned her back to Freddy and lost all of her fear towards him which in turn caused Freddy to lose all his powers and actually fully disappear. Although Freddy in the real world is still very dangerous and of course he can still kill he is no longer an immortal being and you can now fight back against him which Nancy also did by smashing a lamp over his head and stunning him.

So based upon the movies and Freddy's actual powers it does make sense for him to get weaker or even lose some if not all of his abilities when the exit gates become powered. Especially with more than one or two survivors remaining as now all they have to do is keep him distracted or fight him off per se and its now 2,3, or 4 all focused on defeating Freddy and with the more people still alive the less fearful everyone becomes of him.

So him losing his teleportation ability in reality does make sense.

  • Sure it is annoying when you're the one getting tunneled, or even being on a team with people who get tunneled and chases aren't their strong suit which may cause you to be down a man very early on. Also yes I am 100% guilty of getting annoyed when this happens to me, but I get it. I don't think it makes the person a bad killer or toxic or any of the negative things people like to say. More often than not even in solo gens are popping off a lot quicker over the past few months and only getting quicker with time.

In my experience it seems like more streamers are playing DbD and sometimes the game even gets some attention from HUGE streamers like XqC and moistcr1tikal. Although it may not be an everyday game for them when it does get played it does bring attention to the game and in turn brings new people to the game or brings old players back. Now with people like that considering they enjoy watching gameplay so much (which there is nothing wrong with) I'd be willing to call any bet saying that these people have watched gameplay to learn and understand how to play the game and have looked up the best builds and tactics. Some of these players will be playing casually and some people will be playing extremely meta (Nothing wrong with that) on both sides.

Unfortunately tunneling is effective and the way the game is right now very viable strategy to gain the upper hand. It shouldn't be a war between killers and survivors though. That energy should be focused on pressuring the games developers in a constructive way to bring more stability and balance in the game to push people away from having to tunnel because I feel like sometimes even if they don't want to tunnel they kind of have to. Although regardless I don't think tunneling or camping will ever be fully negated from the game I feel like it would be a nice change and refreshing if the pressure on both sides was turned down a bit and people could play in a more relaxed and even immersive way.

  • Yeah I had to take a break from running the "Meta" perks every game. It made the game dull. Switching up my perks opened up a new gameplay style and kinda made me play better too, but most of all it made the game a lot more fun.😀

yikez man, the "unintelligent" remark was there to give you a hint but you double down....

Yeah I get it you like to use that word for whatever reason. First you say the it's an unintelligent statement to make for whatever reason, then go on to tell another person well I never said they couldn't play how they want. So what are you referring to? The fact that I can do what I want as long as it isn't breaking any rules because I'm the one who purchased the game and the game is licensed under my account? Or that people shouldn't compare playing in a "scummy" way to real life scenarios that are literally punishable with a jail sentence? Since you're the know all messiah of all that is wise go ahead and shower down your enlightenment of intellectual capabilities upon us scumbags who tilt you and make you sweat.

Well if it isn't bannable or breaking the ToS then yeah I kinda can. By all means though keep crying over your virtual world than has more value than your actual reality 😪😪😪

Like I said-- do whatever the hell you want, play how you want to play, do what you do to get kills, indulge in your pithy spite all day if it pleases you. Maybe read a little while you're at it.

Just don't tell yourself you're a #########' hero if you try to ruin other people's times and smile about it because you sure showed """"them"""".

Wallow in that miserable pit all day if you want to. Just do it honestly.

"Ruin the game for the other side" This is hilarious because you can play the cleanest nicest game and still have the other side crying about it simply because people on this game can't handle their loss. I don't hate to go against anyone or anything in this game because it's just not a competitive game to me. Despite all the nonsense it's extremely easy to hit red ranks month after month without giving it that much effort and what's the reward for doing so? Absolutely nothing, so what do I care whether I win a game or lose until I derank back to 20? If someone is playing trying to "ruin my fun" or whatever people wanna call it okay? And then? If that's fun for them whatever move on to the next game or if it bothers you that much play a different game. Honestly though if you sit and complain that someone isn't playing the game in a way that you like and you can't just move on from it well then you're just a spoiled brat.

If the game wouldnt be balanced (It isnt) then only survivors would win (mostly the case). And saying that the game shouldnt be balanced is really dumb.

Okay so what about all those killers out there that are red ranks or better yet rank one and can get three to four kills almost every game? Sure this game is unbalanced but people don't want the game legitimately balanced, people want the game balanced to be easier for them so they can get easy wins and easy rank ups. You wanna get rewarded more? Get better and even then you still aren't going to win every game.

The post I commented that on was about the game being balanced if Killers get 2k. And if the killers would only get 4ks it wouldnt be balanced.

Why does it need to be balanced? Your rewards should be based upon how many kills you get

  • Keep the old controller and use it as a rage controller

  • It's like getting a participation trophy, there's no real accomplishment.

  • I like playing against spirit it's actually a lot of fun. Don't really get what all the tears are about. Nvm I remembered, everyone wants the easiest games possible every game. Gotcha.

because paying money for something means you can do whatever you want, its like driving a car and paying road tax, you can drive as fast as you want and honk at everyone who is in your way.

If it isn't doing anything bannable then get over it. It's nobody's problem but your own if you get shook by a video game. Stop brining real life scenarios in to the picture when talking about a video game. I know some people may have a hard time differentiating between the two but there is a difference.

  • These posts are such snoozefests feel free to tell me how I can or can't play once you send me the money that I spent on this game.

  • I rarely even play dbd atm as it got boring af. However posts like these are my favorite and with that being said I'm gonna go out of my way to abuse the ######### out of ds on it's final days to enjoy me some post game rage. I look forward to finding out what's OP next because someone had a bad game so I can "abuse" that too 😂

I think you can generalize every game like that

Oh you play Call of Duty? Well you just spawn then walk for a bit, you find a guy, then shoot the guy, the walk a bit more, find a guy, shoot a guy, zzzzz

Oh you play Super Mario Bros? Well you just spawn, you walk for a bit, you jump on an enemy, you walk a bit more, you jump over a pit, zzzzz

No not at all, call of Duty you actively have to be on alert for an enemy, move around the map tactically and is a high paced high action game that requires you to use your head. Mario while a platformer at least requires you to be engaged throughout. DBD is literally just a background thing at this point that I throw on while I watch a movie and occasionally look over at when I hear the skill check or get into a chase. It's not the issues of doing the same thing over and over it's the issue of doing nothing 80-90% of the time over and over. It's just very dull and simple when playing as survivor at this point. It's basically watching paint dry.

Yes, state my opinion, hence the word DISCUSSION. You are welcome to disagree but saying "i dont believe u bc i said so" has about as little meaningfulness as "wikipedia said" I have played killer many times, im AWARE of why they tunnel. It's annoying as ######### that gen times are as fast as they are, which you'd know if you actually went through my posts. But you didnt. you chose to cherry pick and make it sound like i only play survivor.

I want BAD things in the game to change. Are you really gonna be a bootlicker over it.

Critiquing flaws in the game means im new. I see you didnt wake up and choose to have an intellectual conversation

You're just on this forum to state your own opinion and try to sound super super smart against anyone who challenges you. We all know you didn't get tunneled off the hook 10 games in a row. "You're just trying to play the game" Yeah well so are killers. You want to talk about being intellectual? Play killer for a couple of matches and you'll see why so many of them have turned to tunneling. Don't tell me you do play killer either because it's clear from all your posts that you don't. You have not one complaint about anything that a survivor does but you essentially want the whole game torn apart and rebuilt because you had a rough game against a killer. It's okay you'll get better eventually and start playing better.

Nobody is looking at your posts and going wowwww it's our almighty saviour, this person was sent here to fix DBD and make it perfect hoorah.

  • You continuously make these posts over and over again. You don't wanna play against certain killers, you don't like this, you don't like that. No offense but it sounds like you're somebody who wants an easy game every single game. You must be new though so welcome to DBD

  • @LadyOhhDalia said:

lol okay. That is definitely your opinion, but I think it would be more helpful to you do not believe it would work and why. Thank you, anyway.

For this to work they would need to overhaul the entire matchmaking system from the ground up. It's not just a matter of adding something in to the game that changes a certain aspect and they just aren't going to do that

  • @LadyOhhDalia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2027856#Comment_2027856

I’m trying to understand what you mean about the lobby. Killers cannot change their chosen killer once they hit start to begin a queue. Therefore, before a survivor is placed in a lobby, their “veto” we will call it has to be taken into account. They would not be placed in a lobby with the killer they vetoed. Like I had edited in my post, if it is a SWF deal, the veto option would be removed completely. If a survivor has a long queue time, they are encouraged to open their queue to any killer. Also, I mentioned that they could make it less desirable to filter out a killer by making you lose a % of blood points at the end of a match for being queued that way. This way people have the option and can avoid a killer if they want to. They could even just make it a preference instead of a hard NO to a killer.

It just wouldn't work lol this won't happen

  • Who holds W anyways?! I prefer holding S and moonwalking while looking right at the killer.

  • I feel like people are taking this video wayyy out of context lol. If you wanna chase a single survivor all the way across the map by all means go for it. Don't complain when 2 or 3 gens pop in the meantime.

  • Something to prevent going against a killer over and over sure I'm alright with it. Filtering out a certain killer nah I'm not about that. I enjoy playing against all killers. I'm not even sure how this would work because there's 4 survivors so does mean you get to filter out 4 killers every game or does just one get chosen to be filtered out. Which means the other survivors will be unhappy if the killer they don't want to go against is one that got through. With a game where you choose your character and build before the game even starts something like this just wouldn't work

  • Playing survivor I rarely run any exhaustion perk. Playing as killer I've never had a real issue with DH. I'm already faster than you I'm gonna get you regardless. However if you're in a good position I'm breaking off and taking my pressure elsewhere. People just need to be smarter about positioning. Majority of dead hards I see are pretty useless. Sure there are people that are good with it and that's fine I don't believe things should get nerfed because there are good players who know how to use certain things.

  • The solution to holding W lol. Basically a certain DBD player made a video where in a specific circumstance while going after only person they gain a lot of distance. So somehow people now think this is OP? Laughable

  • TrU3Ta1ent made a video about it where in a very specific circumstance when a killer goes after one single person only they get a lot of distance. So of course now holding W is OP

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Making Ruin a regular perk instead of a Hex would be waaay to strong.

Just imagine a 3 gen against that.

It would be insanely boring to the point that i would rather get tunneled and camped honestly.

I think starting with some kind of early game mechanics (that the devs were lookikg into) would be a better idea.

That's a good point. A 3 gen didn't even come to mind when I was thinking about this.

  • @GodLikeTerror said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/235233/should-ruin-become-a-regular-perk

I don't think it should become a regular perk, but I do think that totem spots need to be reworked, because it's honestly insane how most of the time totems spawn in literally the dumbest most obvious spots. At least even though I hate grim pantry and pale rose at least for outdoor map wise they have really good totem spots. Coldwind totem spots forget it, they are going to go in like 2 seconds.

Yeah that's a fair argument for sure. I definitely agree that some totems spawn in the most ridiculous spots. I think totems should have to be found not stumbled upon because they're right next to a gen.

  • @Lil_Liaaaa said:

"Because ive beaten a nurse or spirit in chase a couple times theyre balanced!" what a ridiculous argument lol

That's kind of not what I said at all but if that's that way you interpreted what I said then so be it. Stop getting so tilted when you go up against a really skilled killer and looking for bandaid solutions when you lose. Trust me, you'll get better at the game.

  • I think this is nonsense. I'm not trying to be rude but I just don't get this thinking of certain killers have no counter play. I've juked plenty of good nurses and have thrown off plenty of good spirits. Do they still get me eventually if they're really skilled? Yeah of course but that's the thing they got me because they were better than me because they've put the time into mastering those killers and that goes for all killers not just nurse and spirit. If somebody has invested that much time and has gotten that good then they deserve the win idc who they play. I refuse to listen to this no counter play fugazi that some people think is so prevalent in the game. It all has counter play but either A you haven't learned how to do it or B you aren't good enough to pull it off. Like you said nurse is the hardest killer to play and when I go up against someone who has mastered her I have nothing but respect for them and that goes for anybody and any killer whether survivor or killer.

Nurse doesn't need to be reworked because the people who have mastered her are extremely hard to play against that's a nonsense argument.

  • @fr0sty1223 said:

I get why killers do it but it pisses me off to see that killer mains want survivors to be nerfed even more while not even touching their toxic strategies. The devs need to balance both sides not just one or the other

Honestly I think making Ruin a regular perk would really help this games balancing issues. I don't think it'll be the almighty fix but I think it'll be a big help.

  • Idk I play solo survivor and something just seems different lately. The gens are flying and getting done faster than ever (not saying anything has been changed) and even the hexes are getting found so fast which leaves the killer with little to no gen defense other than pushing survivors off a gen and even then you can only chase one person at a time and the others including myself will finish off the gen in your face. As annoying as it is I get why killers do it, it's because it works and it's effective. Face camping not really that's kind of pointless and stupid to me but tunneling yeah I get it.

I feel sorry for people who play killer in the current state of the game sometimes. Even when I play killer and focus on pressuring gens they still fly most of the time. I truly think if killers had more gen defense, for example if Ruin was buffed from a hex to a regular perk they probably wouldn't feel as much of a need to tunnel. As for the face camping people just do that to get on your nerves.

Not trying to be rude but you kinda need to just deal with it and get over it and learn to see the game from both sides perspective and try understand why killers or survivors do certain things that may be frowned upon.

See that's the thing currently with the change I'm not even bothered by how the killer plays. I mean I hope it stays this way but let's be honest after a few matches of the BS it'll get on my nerves again. I'm just gonna savor the moment while it lasts.

  • I would choose DH just because I have the control over when to use it. If I'm looping at the killer shack but the window isn't optimal for gaining distance to me it's a waste of lithe or if there's some latency and I vault with lithe and get hit anyways I get a free sprint burst so again lithe was wasted. I feel like lithe is more circumstantial with prerequisites that I don't always meet. Idk maybe I'm just bad with lithe, but I just prefer to have the control of DH.

    1st Wave of Victims

Legion - Inexperienced knife wielding teens would get crushed.

Clown - Unhealthy, unfit fat guy with a knife.

Ghostface - Normal guy with a knife.

Pig - Normal woman with a knife.

Freddy - Tiny man with knife finger glove things.

Plague - Slow and her power takes time to damage. Trash tier weapon of choice.

Twins - Victor would get stepped on, Charlotte would go in rage and die dumbly with her melee weapon.

    2nd Wave of Victims

Trapper - Doubt he's have time to set up anything, slightly better melee weapon

Hillbilly - Too dumb and wreckless, loud weapon

Leatherface - Too dumb and wreckless, loud weapon

Myers - Ignoring movie logic, he'd struggle only using a kitchen knife and brute strength against everyone

Nurse - Fatigue would be her death

Demogorgon - Smarter combatants will beat out the more feral animals.

Hag - Same as above. Weapon isn't the best.

Blight - Same as above Demo. Cane isn't the best weapon at all.

    3rd Wave of Victims

Doctor - Not sure how much the shocks would slow the others down. He literally gives off his location. His weapon is mediocre.

Wraith - Stealth and smarter, but ringing his bell would be a huge opening like Nurse's fatigue.

Pyramid Head - Big target and pretty slow. Some points to him for his supernatural aspects.

Trickster - Ranged. Most people are ignoring how huge of a advantage range is. He has speed and agility to letting him kite most Killers, but his ego would get him killed as he'd drop his guard at some point.

Spirit - Ghostly teleports would let take out many, but she isn't that strong and more hyper aware Killers like Huntress would find and kill her.

Deathslinger - Ranged. He could instantly take out most of the cast with a head shot, but his reload would get him killed.

    Finalists

    Oni and Huntress

Both have the the battle knowledge, the power, the speed, and the weapons. It'd be intense. I'll pick... Huntress only cause I feel she could get the drop on someone more than thunder boot Oni. Honestly, they both would probably die in the end from injuries suffered.

This NEEDS to be made into a short-film

  • I take it someone has been having a rough couple of games.

  • I mean yeah if all prerequisites fall into place this world work no problem. IF.

  • Fell free to think what you want about DS. Like I said DS is useless to me and I'm just never gonna run it. I don't get into the debates over what's OP and what's game breaking it's a waste of time and nobody is gonna change their minds. I'm not posting encouraging or discouraging the use of it. I stated why I personally don't run DS because of what my own personal statistics show me. I'm sure others have different experiences than I do but again to me DS is a useless perk and you'll never see me with it.

  • I play solo when I play survivor and I've recorded the statistics for around just over 100 games and what I've found in my case is over 75% of the time DS is just useless. Either killers respect it or just didn't tunnel me off a hook so it becomes obsolete. I never run DS anymore because of what my own statistics showed me and as a solo I'd rather bring perks that are going to be useful to me and my team a majority of the time. I get others may have a different experience than I do but these are just my own personal findings and what I personally think about using DS.
