So let me get this straight. People whine about certain things and for reason you perceive as dumb. But your reasons for whining are fine and holy, right?

Your opinion (Bad) vs My opinion (Good), amirite? I'm definitely smooth brained for disagreeing and pointing out how all of this is.

Here's a hot take: Killers whine far more in this forum than survivors, because they feel like victims in a 4 v 1. It doesn't help that killer demands more skill and game knowledge than survivor, and most people would rather whine than admit they're not as good as they think they are. It's just hilarious that I can get the same results as 4 slowdown double mega addon sweaty Blight with just no-addon Nemesis with the scourge hook as my only slowdown. And no, it's not because the survivors are all potatoes, it's because this game isn't as hard or imbalanced as people pretend it is to cope.

Let me guess you play at super high MMR too right you're a god like killer with nemesis and nobody could ever beat you? You're garbage and you know you are that's why you bring that up because it's always the trash people that bring up how they can do as good as the sweatiest player with wayyy less than them. If you say this game isnt as unbalanced as people say it is and you know because you dont even have to play like that then yeah you either don't know what you're talking about or you just stomp noobs all day and feel good about it lmao

But if you were injured without iron will it wasn’t a mindgame. The spirit had info and you didn’t

So what there was still attempts to be made it was still a lot of fun. Besides 80% of the time you could use common sense to figure out where she's gonna pop on you when you're injured

How else did you play against her when you were given no feedback to what she was doing?

Picking up on patterns, attempts to misdirection, trying to mindgame. Kinda like playing chess. I don't just sit at a pallet all match and think oh no which way is she going to come from.

  • See that just shows your immature weird attitude I guess lol. Just a heads up it is possible for people to y'know actually talk and debate about things instead of crying all the time. I see you're one of those whiners. Lmao

  • @Phasmamain said:

So you liked have to toss a coin every time spirit phased?

I mean I guess this is the way most smooth brain survivors thought of her. I had lots of fun going against spirit

Yes. Devs really need to stop listening to whiners on the forums. Just look at your thread, saying you can only win if you camp and tunnel.

I mean I kinda didn't I mentioned a way people have universally agreed on of how killers have had to change their gameplay. If that's what you took out of what I said then I'm sorry for you I guess? lmao

  • Yeah the Deathslinger nerf was absolutely one of the most ridiculous things I've seen. Slinger was another I used to enjoy going against cause his games were unpredictable and sometimes on the difficult side. Rarely see him anymore and when I do it's just not the same that fear isn't there anymore

  • Reading the forums and seeing all the new Epic players crying about the most useless things like they've been playing since Beta and know everything about the game

If they were facecamped to death, they are entirely justified in complaining. They were literally prevented from playing a game they bought. Honestly, I'm surprised facecamping isn't the major focus for the developers. It's the biggest game design flaw and has been in the game since the inception of the game.

Why does a survivor get to decide the way a killer plays? The reason the devs aren't focused on it is because they don't disagree with camping and say it's fine

  • This person had such a bad game they made an account to come complain about it lmao

  • Yeah, no. I'll just play out my matches and not cry about everything.

Because those aren't actual people on the games roster. Sadako is Sadako but Chatterer is really Pinhead.

Chatterer and Pinhead are two completely separate characters. They're both Cenobites but they aren't the same being whatsoever

  • Nerf posts by new Epic Game's players who say the most ridiculous things.

  • This has to be a troll post right?

The range should be more obviously. It's not useless at all, completely counters the facecamping strategy

Yeah no it's a pretty useless Boon idea

  • I stopped reading at "circle of healing isn't busted"

  • Yeah no Hag is overrated AF. Talking from a solo queue experience not only do I rarely see hag but when I do she's never a real problem. Sure there are people out there who are really good with hag and going against them can be difficult, but I don't think because a certain streamer or person who plays the game night and day is really good with a certain killer makes them higher tier.

  • I totally agree. Why should someone get paid for a product they have created? It's not like they have employees to pay or resources that cost money.

  • Ranks have nothing to do with MMR. Killer games are usually super easy when first playing killer until your MMR goes up. Once you start to go against people who know what they're doing that's when the game switches from easier killer games to easier survivor games and harder killer games. When you first start playing your MMR is average so you get a mix of new people or people who have been playing for a while but just aren't try hard mode which would explain the teachable perks they run. Also it would explain why killer is easier when first starting because there's a mixture of new people who don't understand the game yet and people who haven't become skilled or just have less skill. Once you get your killer MMR up you'll start playing against more and more survivors who are way more efficient, have a full meta perk build and even more SWF's. Enjoy the place that you're at now and use it as an opportunity to learn the game if you plan on do being here for the long run. Also my condolences on the insane grind you'll have to endure when first starting out and the money you'll have to put in to unlock certain characters so that you can grind them and unlock their teachable perks and from there you can go grind a killer/survivor that you do like and get all the good perks on them. Good luck my friend.

  • Who asked?

  • I'm enjoying Plague atm. Demo is fun too but I'm at level 50 still grinding out perks lol

  • Eh I'm still having fun playing killer

Because people probably want to enjoy it but the devs shown they don't care

No you see there's just a plethora of crybabies that the devs unfortunately have to cater to because at the end of the day it's a business and that's what this game is balanced around the constant complaining and crying. Like how people really think BBQ is OP just because they personally don't like it. Or when someone is bad at the game instead of trying to get better oh no that's just OP

  • Dude you're a new player who hasn't even seen half of what DbD has to offer. All of your posts are complaints and everything you don't like about the game. If you have this many problems with the game why don't you just stop playing? It's not like you spent money buying the game anyways. Every single one of your posts has been shot down and received negatively by people who have been playing more than a week. Just stop. Like what did you do get the game and play it just so you can whine and complain about literally everything in the game?

  • Here's what I don't get. All these posts about how unfun the game is and how broken it is and how unfair it is and how much you don't like it. Soo why you still playing then?

  • I got a better idea for a bubba nerf I really think this is a good one. Bubba nerf Idea: Leave him as he is.

  • Just do bones.

  • Yeah sure sometimes the survivors get crazy tiles back to back 100% and the killer is kinda screwed. However, this clip is a super bad example of that, in fact it's not an example at all. The survivors weren't carried by map design Ace was the first survivor you seen in this match obviously and you over committed to a chase you probably shouldn't have taken. Now the chase itself no disrespect but it was pretty poor on your end. You left three other survivors completely unpressured to take a shack chase out of the gates. Again no disrespect but this isn't a case of a killer getting screwed over by something that heavily favors the survivor. This is a case of you need to accept that you played this very poorly and you're looking for an excuse to say that it isn't your fault when it's 100% on you. The only way to get better is to take accountability, understand what you did wrong and learn from it. We've all made bad plays before.

  • Idk I think the title should be changed to "Talk about a cry baby survivor"

  • As I solo I believe that Kindred is a must it provides so much information. Windows of Opportunity is another amazing perk to have and helps you a lot when looping or evading the killer. Then maybe throw in some Dead Hard cause DH is a super good perk and for the last perk it's really your choice. You could choose BT, Adrenaline, Circle of Healing, Iron Will, DS.

    Sigh.

That's a red herring and you know it.

My point was that people :

    A. Recognize and

    B. React to

linguistic or behavioral queues in a manner that they can't control at an emotional level. They cannot control their neurochemistry as this occurs on a deeper layer than volition extends to - for anyone. They can moderate their actions based on those reactions, but the actual internal state is not subject to conscious control. You can be trained out of those reactions (generally via some form of CBT) but that's not really easy or reliable and can also mess people up badly (see: 'bomb-proofing' training).

Or to put it more simply, you can control what you do, but not how you feel.

Also - I swear, I need to make a Bingo sheet for these threads...

We've knocked off red herring fallacy, ad hominum and 'it's not the fault of the person acting like a jerk, it's your fault for being irritated by them' blame shifting in a single post.

All I need now is a 'get off the internet' and I'll have a full millennial Bingo!

Seriously though, no. The world is a nasty enough place sometimes for me to also have to deal with it in my hobby. You know, the place I come to relax after dealing with real life. I don't think an expectation that I should be able to enjoy said hobby without dealing with a constant flow of chuds is unreasonable. Other bigger, much more competitive games have pulled this off pretty well.

(As an aside: it really is frightening to me how much time you chaps will put into defending being a jerk, rather than just mannering up).

Okay but you and nobody else has any right to tell people what they should or shouldn't be doing inside of the game. Some people tbag to get the killers attention and take the chase while their team does gens, some people do it to tilt the killer and throw them off their game and then some people do it at the exit gates which everyone says is pointless and stupid so why give such a pointless act any thought? Chase em out and move on. Then you get people who get annoyed because oh they're try harding and they're body blocking and this stuff annoys me. Okay? And? If they wanna play in a tryhard way and fight as hard as they can to get everyone out that's their prerogative. If you don't like that and don't wanna play that way I don't know what to tell you. Like I said if it's something that's in the game by default and you don't like it it's on you.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2684555#Comment_2684555

As I said in the other thread, it's...not that simple.

It's not a matter of 'getting over' anything. That's not how human neurochemistry operates. People can't choose to not be annoyed at something any more than they can choose not to be scared of something or not to be depressed.

Beyond this - most people, I'd wager, come in with that attitude and eventually get worn down by the toxicity.

When it's not survivors teabagging me in the exit gates after I went easy on them due to a DC, it's survivors giving photosensitive players migraines with flicky macros, survivors taking the game hostage by refusing to complete the final gen and playing hide and seek/memeing with sabos and flashlights for an hour (which has been confirmed as non-bannable as it's still technically possible for killers to win) etc.

Eventually, your skin loses thickness and you either get frustrated, become numb or start becoming toxic yourself.

'Teabagging' or flashlight macros don't have any intrinsic meaning themselves - but neither does shaking/refusing to shake your opponent's hand after a match. It's commonly accepted, however, that certain things are disrespectful and certain things aren't.

I'd personally like to see a system to encourage better sportsmanship in DbD, as has had a ton of success in other PvP games - because this community, especially on the survivor end of things is toxic, going on septic.

I love how someone tbagging in DBD is somehow on the level of a real world fear or a real world mental illness which is pretty ignorant and honestly it's sad. If your skin "loses thickness" over something someone did in DBD of all games your skin wasn't very thick to begin with. If you are getting that tilted over something someone is doing in a game and letting it bother you that much then it's time to take a step back think about a few things and work on yourself. There are people in this world dealing with actual issues, some people have to fight tooth and nail every single day just to barely be able to get by and don't even have the luxury of having time to escape it by playing a video game. So when people sit here playing dbd for hours on end every day and then wanna cry because someone tbagged you I just don't respect that.

  • What exactly do you mean by harassing? Are we talking tbagging and flashlight blinds and stuff like that? If so that's kind of something you just gotta get over and it's on you if you let that affect your gameplay because ultimately that's the point of doing it. If you're talking about people sending messages and saying hateful things in the chat outside of the match then that's a different story and shouldn't be allowed.

  • I mean it's not necessarily skill but yeah to reach red ranks you have to play a good amount and if you play a good amount you'll definitely have a better understanding of the game. In terms of looking at it like that yeah I guess you could say they're most likely more skilled than someone in bronze or ash sometimes even silver. However if you "lose" every single game you play by getting killed for a month you can still pip and make it to red ranks.

Spirit and Artist are about the only killers I’m having fun with. I find other killers enjoyable but if BHVR removed Spirit and Artist from the game now, I definitely will quit killer or the game all around.

I miss going against old Spirit. I liked always having to be on my toes and having to make the right reads and mind games.

  • What you really need to do is look up some videos or ask for some advice on how to deal with flashlights. You're a new player and you need to learn how to play the game not come to the forums and keep suggesting these ridiculous changes to flashlights.

He is being a dirtbag. So what I've noticed playing as a survivor is that there are survivors who are either oblivious to how the game works when unhooked people or people who farm others off the hook and the survivor unhooked never gets any punishment for it. Is it my fault he's unhooked me? No, but I seem to pay for it in the end. Does a killer see this. Yes, but they usually don't care about it they just wanna "secure the kill" even tho in the back of the killers mind they know that the survivor made a bad play rescuing off the hook even tho the killer is closeby. I never go after the person who got unhooked when I was just a few feet away because if they don't have BT, then that survivor is just farming and it pisses me off

Why shouldn't a killer take advantage of a bad play? Is it because you're a survivor and therefore you should have an easy game and the killer should appease your fun and the way you want to play, and if they don't you cry like a little baby and act toxic towards the killer? Poor little baby didn't have a good dame and now he's upset waaaa :'( Grow up guy.

  • My best advice for DBD is patience. There's a lot to learn but luckily there are many guides and tutorials for this. There's a huge grind to leveling up that's going to take a long time and even money in many cases to get the perks that you want.

  • My friend I would like to welcome you to DBD. As killer you're going to get flamed no matter what you do. Have a good game and win? Prepare to be insulted and flamed and get accused of camping, tunneling etc etc. Had a bad game and lost? Be prepared to be called a baby killer and flamed for not winning. So basically no matter what you do you're gonna get flamed for it. A lot of people in DBD are extremely toxic and the only thing you can do is ignore it.

  • One thing I would suggest is deleting DBD and then downloading it again.

Thats just the thing I dust often around the console and everything cause they're dust prone lol, I just don't understand why its happening specifically with that game. its usually an hour before it happens, other games it won't crash when I've been on for a couple of hours.

Sorry for the late response I was looking into it a little bit and it seems to have something to do with the latest patch and it's more than just consoles it's PC's as well. But yeah, it's not something that's your fault or something that you can control. Your system shutting off is just a safeguard against damage from overheating. I'd say just play and keep and eye on things and if it keeps overheating and shutting off maybe take a little break from DBD I know it sucks but so does a broken PS5 lol

And how often do you hear anything on here about what's being worked on, or whats upcoming. Nothing until it's on the Ptr.

Anytime a mod posts it's nothing of any substance.

Yes the Op's post is unfeasible, but the current game health seems to be unfeasible long term as well.

I don't see what the mods posting and the "game health" has to do with it. The OP's idea is probably one of the dumbest suggestions I've ever seen that literally nobody would agree to participating in. When someone makes a stupid suggestion like this they should be told that it's a stupid suggestion.

  • Why do people post such absurd suggestions that they have no clue how it would even work and sit there like yeahh I just figured out the fix all for this game... like come on

  • The real question is why are you as a killer spending that much time on one loop? If I'm looping a killer into oblivion as you put it on a single loop and not getting pushed off or being caught up to with bloodlust, no I don't feel proud I feel like I just went against a complete braindead killer who doesn't know how to play.

  • Not to be rude but based upon your post you have a long long way to go in terms of learning how the game works. The fact that you think light-borne is a perk that is ever needed or even commonly used is completely wrong. Or saying flashlights should have battery life... well they do.

  • I absolutely love kindred and I will never ever take it off. If I don't use it I just feel naked.

  • If your console was really hot and shutting down it's probably a safeguard to prevent permanent damage like how if your GPU gets too hot it'll shut down your computer. Make sure you clean out all the air vents and your system is in a place where it has room to breath.

  • Didn't the devs say they're going to be doing some sort of early game collapse? Or did that just get abandoned?
