As a killer main myself, this is a topic that has baffled me.

When I play killer, I don't punish survivors for playing a specific character. For the most part, I treat all the survivors equally.

And yet I've noticed that killers will punish Claudette players for simply picking the character (such as using a mori or tunneling).

    Why?

Is it because some of them like to blend with the environment? Who cares lol. They're not hurting anyone. Stealth is part of the game.

Is it because those players have a history of being toxic? Toxic Claudette players are very rare in my experience. And even if those players did have a tendency to be toxic, assuming that all Claudette players are toxic would be stereotyping.

Personally, I think it's small and petty to single out a survivor just because they are playing a certain character.

I just don’t like people in general who hide all game like it’s some single player hatch simulator or something it just happens most of the people who do this play her because she can blend in well. It’s no fun for the killer cuz no interaction and no fun for survivors cuz they now have only 3 people if that sometimes doing gens chases and saving each other while the other guy sits in a corner doing emotes at 5 gens

A guy in my game dced and I let the survivors farm with me because of it, today it said I'm banned for inteional gameplay abuse. Is letting survivors farm because of a dc bannable or was this bannable a mistake because I was playing normally the other times.

Ok gonna say this if it was that that got you banned I wonder which one of them was hurt in their past they reported you for helping them out since they lost a teammate like just take the free help and move on if you want out faster finish your gens and escape don’t report someone for being nice

After I explain this, tell me what you think: So many people hate Legion because they assume things so quickly. They assume that because his power is too short/too slow due to the fact that too many maps are still too large for him to hit multiple people.

As a Legion main myself, I have learned this over time. The more people I hit, the stronger I become, which is obvious for any Legion main. But whenever people are spread out more, it kills me because I cannot hit multiple people. Even at places like the shack, it is hard to hit people due to looping. Even when you chase people in frenzy, he does not seem too much faster than normal. If devs moderately lengthen his power and slightly increase his speed and people don't assume things quickly, I believe he will be rated a considerably more powerful killer. To be honest, I really think what his power does truly is powerful, just short and slightly too slow. So what do you guys think? Please don't troll, but tell me what you guys honestly think.

This is the real reason he is so awful he has about 10 penalties for using his power one that can’t even kill people. Yet spirit has only one penalty no sight but still has marks and noise and can kill people while running faster.

So thats mean gunshot a survivor then M1 will drops 2 token? Sounds much but actually fair, he may had 125% speed before shooting after all

It actually works like this at 0 tokens you get one for the shot and lose it if you hit the target or keep it if the target breaks out but if you have a stack it takes the stack and re adds it back and again keep or lose it

  • @Rivyn said:

I can argue the opposite. It's not the killers fault, it's the survivors who unhooked. If the killer is close enough to even catch you straight off the hook, than the blame should be placed on the survivor who did the rescuing, especially without BT. They basically farmed you for points. Can you really blame the killer if you're pulled off hook in their face, and the rescuer doesn't at least take a protection hit, instead sprinting to the nearest pallet?

Now, I'm not saying hardcore tunneling doesn't exist, and is a pretty unfair playstyle around it. I understand in a lot of cases killers will tunnel, simply for the sake of doing it. But on the other hand, I feel at least part of the blame comes down to survivors not knowing when or how to safely rescue somebody.

^this I get called a tunneler just for focusing the guy off hook rather then the guy who sprint bursted to the nearest loop instead of taking a hit

So people brought up how it is easy to dodge pyramid heads M2 because of his red light so I realized wouldn't beast of prey actually be pretty damn good on him? Beast of pray activates after only 15 seconds in a chase and hides your glow so wouldn't that be his best perk besides save the best for last? I'm reinstalling the ptb right now to see for myself, Let me know if ya'll use it and tell me what you think.

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure the red light they mean is the big rectangle the power itself makes not his red stain so beast would have no effect on it

For a game who's makers don't consider the movies as Canon, they sure do emulate them quite a bit. Freddy's mori comes directly from the Remake movie, Shape/Myers Mori and design also come directly from the movies, Hell even Pigs head trap kills, and throat slash mori also come from the movies. So, while the devs don't consider the movies canon... they certainly draw inspiration from them and copy them in this game. So, while this brutal mori suggestion may not be canon, it's also not something the devs would ignore either.

Ok sorry it’s a late response but those are because with those characters the licensing is with the movies this one is only a license with the video game creators

If Survivors can’t get Camping fixed, then ALL Killers need to actually shut up about SWF or survivors being “overpowered” Literally all the good perks of survivors have been nerfed, while killers have not, very few killer perks have been nerfed and the only nerfed killer is Nurse, like are you kidding me?! Doctor was fine before now he’s one of the most hated to go against

Or everyone can stop whining about how people play and let them do what they want to do. Also btw doc only got changed cuz survivors were complaining that his passive madness was too strong so they removed it for a more active version instead.

  • @FoxWolfFrostFire said:

So I heard they wanted to do something like the End game Collapse but for the start of the game. For the sake of keeping it simple I will call it Phase 1, the mid game Phase 2, and EDC will be Phase 3

I would like to see a set up sections for Phase 1. My knee jerk reaction would be something like reduce gen speeds by 20% for the first 60 seconds or until the first survivor enters the dying state.

During that first minute Killers are given five totem tokens, and each survivor is given two-three pallet tokens. To travel across the map placing totems/pallets and preselected locations(Think Freddies altered power) but with the check that no totem can be set down with in say. Again Knee Jerk. 20 meters of each other. While pallets are limited to 30 meters. Also during this time Survivors leave NO scratch marks. So those are just my opening thoughts.

They said they didn't want to add a new objective, but what else could there be for a Phase 1? It would have to be a system built around what they already have in the game. But what is the ground thoughts of the rest of the players?

It will most likely not be anything too huge maybe just 60 seconds max time of reduced speeds to keep games from ending in 2min. Hopefully they make it fair for all players tho I am worried about how it could effect solo que players if done incorrectly.

  • @Gomolazoli said:

Like..10 meters away from the killer for a minute ffs. Who cane up with these stupid shits?

Ok so I get the minute is quite a lot of time but don’t a majority of players already do this anyways? (Blendette mains I’m looking at you)

So can we talk about this. Literally just got out of a match against a camping bubba whose name was face camp sry. Like ######### is wrong with people (mainly bubbas) doing this there needs to be a hard penalty to face campers or even just a ban because it ruins people’s games. I don’t care about tunneling killer that much because you have chances, but a camping killer you have a small chance of escaping. So bhvr can you either a punish the killers who camp with a ban or something or make it so they can’t hurt survivors if they stay too close for X amount of time.

Probably just bait but I’ll respond there is a penalty to camping it’s called 1 kill and a depip. It is also not against the rules so stop crying about it please no one wants to see a hundred of these same posts.

Bodyblocking in a corner isn't solved by egc. Nah nah nah thats not what were talking about

The premise of this conversation started with this game isnt Survior sided with all these killer sided improvements

The argument was egc was added to nerf survivors in favor of killer

My argument was egc was strictly stated to be so survivors couldn't hold the game hostage

Killers mechanically don't benefit from EGC and cannot hold characters hostage though gameplay

The counter argument of bodyblock in a map flaw is still invalid because both not solved EGC and because the Orginal comment also complained about map fixes. the very same what help prevent deadcorners. To witch I will agree that I momentary overlooked but will see till defend my orginal claim both because its invalid and because bodyblocking isn't killer specifical survivors can do that too.

Funny enough, the entire movies music soundtrack directly comes from the video game. The makers of the game made that stiplulation and even had a big impact in the movies production. Sure it has lackluster performances from the actors, but you can't deny that the nailed the horror and atmosphere of the games flawlessly. Because the game makers had a direct influence in the movies production... I'd have to say this brutal scene was also their call, which would make it cannon. China aside, I'm pretty sure everyone else would love to see a mori like this in the game.

I don’t have the full quote but the devs said this “Anything from the games that happened before the entity took them is canon. Anything from the movie is not canon” that’s all due to the lore of these dbd versions not the series as a whole

  • @emptyCups said:

Its not and never was physically possible for a killer to hold the game hostage.

That’s not entirely true killers could and still can hold people in a wall with no way of escape besides if another survivor is outside and does all objectives to start egc timer

With what we have seen with Pyramid head and his multiple powers and the fact that he has a ranged attack that goes THROUGH walls. Is Deathslingers 110% movement speed really justified when Pyramid Head is a 115% killer with a ranged attack seems like a better version of deathslingers but with less range? I'd also argue the range isn't a benefit with deathslinger as when hes so far away it's easy to break the chain and long range hits usually aren't worth it.

You can react to Pyramid Head a little better than deathslinger too arguably, but not that much. Deathslinger slows down and his aiming is so obvious when you know it is coming and you can do a quick juke.

On top of that Pyramid Head doesn't have to reload!

Not sure if it’s been said yet to you he is 4.6 when not using power and only 4.4 when he is using his ranged attack and it has a harsh Cooldown if you miss which deathslinger doesn’t have as badly

Not for the nekkidness (they could totally bypass that by having the original rip animation also remove the skin), but for the sheer visceral horror of it. My friend said it best after watching this movie "I was very happy when they killed the worst actor in the movie in the worst way possible", not gonna lie, I wholeheartedly agreed with him, but aside from this admittedly gruesome as hell death scene/mori, is anyone else also hoping that Pyramid Head's movie look becomes a cosmetic? because it's a really good look for him!

Problem is the movie isn’t canon to pyramid head only the video games so unless it happened there it wouldn’t happen here (that and of course cuz China wouldn’t like this lol)

Is it me ...or why? They put the RBT on you come back when you are rescued and tunnel you right back down or go get you at the jigsaw box.

It seems unnecessary when playing the pig. You already gave the survivor a new priority. Why not chase someone else?

I won’t make this my priority but if I see the trap survivor alone I will slug them and leave them going around the map possibly going back when they get up if I’m not in chase but only to look for the other survivor who got the save the hard tunnels on traps I don’t get myself why add pressure just to get rid of it quickly?

  • Pretty much I’m not sure a good effect myself I’ll let the devs handle that one but it wouldn’t be an aura reading I feel like as it would outshine babysitter

  • They already said it’s coming but for survivor we’re gonna live forever add another effect of course and maybe give it a stack per heal state you do rather then unhooks and protect hits as these are hard on good players who don’t get hooked and insta down killers

For killer while controversial I would pick sloppy butcher but I have no suggestions there just something to help with all that heal perks that counter it

  • Definitely a bug and will be fixed before live

  • @jynkkä said:

    Just,,,,,, why? ;'#

I mean only 1% of killers have an insta down so it’s not a big deal

  • @Xerge said:

Yup, most games as survivor are really boring. That's why I'm a killer main now or maybe I play both sides equally, not sure. I still have my doubts about this so called bug, I also believe it's due to a lack of killers, but whatever the problem is I hope it's fixed soon.

They said on the live-stream in a month more at most it seemed we should have this fix and they are also in works on a pre game collapse which should help slow the game enough for up to 60 seconds so everyone can enjoy a game longer then 2min

  • I agree a bit on more non teachable but for both sides and maybe an overhaul on older ones to make them more viable I don’t play survivor enough to know more then kindred spine chill and resilience as ones that are used but on killer all I ever see used is sloppy butcher would be nice to have more options for newer players on both sides

Because I'm not skilled my gameplay can be ruined by others? Why should people having fun be on me? Why couldn't we all have fun by balanced matchmaking? Why should I be responsible for survivors to have fun while I cannot?

That’s what I said was everyone should have fun it sucks that some things aren’t as balanced as we all want them to be but we are so close to having that take a huge step in the right direction

  • Killer mains can not complain because when it comes down to it survivors can have the worst end of the stick and this is from a literal killer main they have no balance whatsoever and will get crap for it when it’s just them playing how they want solo is too weak rn compared to swf and killer duo is balance and alright 3 man is tilted in survivor favor and 4 man can be op but saying they shouldn’t be allowed to have friends to play with is wrong and just sounds like you want them weaker then killer

I haven't enjoyed getting my ass handed to me game after game after game. I would much rather sit in a queue for 10 mins than getting insta queues just to lose in 5 mins. And I believe many others feel this way, as we can see in the lack of killers playing this game. They could have at least tried to fix the matchmaking to make it more bearable in the mean time while getting their next matchmaking system ready. But they decided not to. And people wonder why moris and camping is on the rise. And what use is of new content if it only caters the veterans and survivors but not new players?

So because you are not skilled at the game you want to ruin gameplay for others?

  • @hahadrillgobrrr said:

No don't blame it on me and others when it is devs fault for making system that is so badly done that nobody wants to play killer. They should have fixed it long time ago. Now they talked about new algorithm coming but no timeline for it. It could be next week, next month, next year. Why the fk should I care when devs don't care?

So them constantly pushing out updates and content for everyone to enjoy is them not caring you know you are right please quit the game so we can have players that actually respect the hard work the developers are doing

But if you decide to quit you are the problem the matchmaking got this way cuz people quit too much it can’t be fixed if every time someone doesn’t get their way they leave

  • @VectorRises said:

I played a dozen games today and out of those twelve games 10 of those were hook campers.. they need to be penalized for staring at you. They need to make it were the killer speed is reduce 10% for every 5 seconds camping and they don’t get that speed back just to teach those camping a lesson. Because I hate when my friends I play with get hooked or I get hooked and we can’t get them even when we screw up on generators. Or finish them they just stand there. So there is no way to accumulate points and rank up. Even when we escape we barley brake even and the guy being hooked camp de-ranks. How is that fun for anyone. Please creators make The killer penalized for hook camping please it’s not fair for the person hooked

Look I’m all against camping as the next guy even playing killer but it is a strategy like any other and has no plans to be changed so please we don’t need a million of these ban campers posts on the forum

  • I just sit there and watch them spin in circles like a clown then hit them haha

  • @hahadrillgobrrr said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1311345#Comment_1311345

Yes swf is not every game but really often it is. If you are lucky not getting against swf then there is red and purple ranks running meta perks looping you for ages and popping 5 gens without you ever landing a single hit. Perks don't do ######### when you can't even get close to players way out of your league. Sure I could just stick through it but that honestly that is just straight up bs. Why should I, as a new player just stick through getting bullied while learning the game and grinding perks? That makes absolutely no fkin sense.

Sorry I forgot my last point on the matchmaking in a few weeks or a month it seems at most we will lose the current matchmaking anyways so soon you will find better matches I more of meant to stay stick with it until then I know the struggle you feel I went through it as well while playing one of the weaker killers Legion but I managed to stick through it all and now I can keep up gen pressure and get those kills even against high rank swf groups and I know if you just stick through it and just play to your best ability and have fun you can do it as well it’s a multiplayer game we all just need to help each other have fun

  • I don’t see a point in adding to the actual game just play in discord or party chat it’s already there most people will do that anyways and you won’t hear them cuz they aren’t in game chat so it changes nothing

  • Honestly I never see the reasons killer mains quit the game

yes swf can be extremely rough to beat but it’s not an every game thing where it’s one of the really good ones

hex ruin did get a drastic change but all in all it was for the better for higher ranks as most survivors could hit great skill checks and I find it working better besides the one problem all totems have 5 second cleanses

And lastly while matchmaking is bad just sticking through it until you have the points for good perks to counter the higher rank players perks will help immensely I went through this for awhile stuck through it now I am rank 1 on killer

I've been playing dbd since a year more or less. I love this game and i appreciate as everyone when a new killer is released. Thinking about my early days, however, i think that a newcomer who have to understand game dynamics nowadays is clearly in disadvantage in comparison to the newcomer of 2016. That's because the number of killers and survivors are increased greatly, the maps too, and the basic understandings of the game (repair the gen, open the gates or hook and kill everyone) are changed: you need to know how to loop, when a loop is safe or not, what's an infinite, etc. And the perks (now with a total of 20 killers and 22 survivors we have 126 perks in total), and the objects and the add-ons; it's a ton of acquaintances for someone who approach the game with the idea of just having fun.

Furthermore, in my experience and in some cases, u didn't understand what a perk effectiveness really is, since you're not playing against someone who uses it.

What about a new "tutorial" mode, replacing the old one, where you could play offline against some IA; where you can set the killer or the survivor u will play against with the perks u want; with some story mode maybe that gives value to the wonderful amount of lore that this game have, instead of some data u can find in the archives. Where the newcomer can decide what character level up first in base of his own experience and not for some advice find in the community.

For encouraging online games will may be set that matches offline don't guarantee BP...

I don't know, i love all the news, all map upgrades, the new skins, crossplay, dedicated servers, new characters. It seems to me anyway that the game keeps increasing in only one direction for the benefit of those who know dbd, forgetting easing it for those who don't know it.

    Greetings

They won’t do that for two reasons

    1) They want to maintain it as a multiplayer asymmetrical game

    2) The matchmaking is already bad doing that could mess it up a lot more by dividing the player base even more

Sometimes it’s all four of them doing it lol that or If say the blocked gens are the 3 gen I’m gonna go set up on that side then

  • Cuz blendettes will still wait at that one gen for 2min so you have to go check them out

  • @shwag said:

Oh look another justify camping thread. A very far reaching one.

We get it you do not have the skill to chase just open with that.

Camp all you want but don't act like you are the bee knees for doing one of the most boring tactics in the game.

umm did you not read it through it was saying camping is bad on both sides each side has a way to ignore chases and interaction there was no justification in camping I avoid it myself but sometimes nobody wants to interact so what can I do chase birds around?

  • @Predated said:

    Well, 2 reasons:

    1. Survivors HAVE TO complete gens to be able to escape the game.
    2. Killers dont have to camp to get kills, and in fact, its counter productive to camp.

    As for interaction, again:

    1. a survivor can interact with gens, totems, injured survivors and the killer. If there is a lack of injured survivors(or the injured survivor has no interest in being healed) a lack of killer and no totem in sight, they will do gens.
    2. a killer can pretty much only interact with survivors, dropped pallets and generators. If a survivor is hooked and no nearby dropped pallet, a killer should go patrol gens, unless he has information that gens are not being done(surveillance for example), then he has no reason to leave the hook(but often, like you said, at least 1 survivor is doing gens, so you should stop them from doing so).

So no, sitting on gens and sitting on hooks are not similar at all. One is literally an interaction and productive, the other is a lack of interaction and counter-productive unless its literally the only objective.

The problem is you only need one or two to be doing that not all four someone needs to interact with a killer at all times to prevent the killer from needing to just sit and watch. If the killer still chooses to sit there when someone wants to do a chase then yes it’s in the wrong depending on circumstance of course.

  • How about do gens?

  • So would you rather be turned back into an infinite where it is heavily survivor sided until every single wall is broken? On your other point if killer was trapping you with no intention of killing you then that’s just him being a douche has nothing to do with the room. Also please try to avoid dcing it only brings harm and nothing good you literally gave him his way.

  • This is also on console I hope the devs fix this soon

1 … 20 21 22 23
