  • Just the Nurse experience. They never fixed her bugs that have long been in the game, even when they nerfed her.

Sorry plague mains don't exist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I must be a ghost, then. Vommy Mommy is the best!

To OP, employ hit and run in the early game. You need to spread the infection as soon as possible. If they cleanse early, good. Learn the arch of the vomit. A lot of times, you can hit survivors over barriers if you know the angle. Puke in a cone, not in a straight line, unless you're right on that Jane's booty cheeks. Infectious is a fun perk to use, since it applies with her Corrupt. Remember, you're denying them healing, so unless they're potatoes, they WILL gen rush. Try and find the map advantage, either by a three gen, or having a healthy stockpile of corrupted fountains. You really don't want all fountains full, as you lose quite a bit of map pressure if they all clear.

I feel that the revealing your aura every 30 seconds thing is strange and completely unnecessary. Otherwise it's a perfect rework.

Don't have a problem yet with the rework idea. It's that survivor players know it's going to be changed, and are thus going to use it far more often now, till it's actually changed. Again, we have past experience from this.

So killers let's hear the "Devs are so survivor-sided they don't care about us killers" talk. Come on. My morning cup of coffee doesn't taste bitter enough without it.

So long as SWF is the way it is, I'll always believe in the survivor sidedness. Though the DS change is nice.

  • It's the survivor way. Any killer they feel challenges them is suddenly 'boring' and 'broken.' The top killers go through this every few months. Nurse, Spirit, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Freddy. Heck, even Doc and Hag make appearances. I still laugh when Plague was thrown on the chopping block last year.

Not all survivors play douchey & if something is in the game people are going to use it, therefore you should blame the devs for balance rather than the players.

With this being said, this game is incredibly unbalanced & I agree with you. There has been many times I've went AFK as killer because I gave up & didn't get back on the role for a very long time.

Perks like DS & OoO should be completely reworked because it is just ridiculous. Of course there might be some OP things on the killer side as well but not near as much as the survivor side.

Careful about saying you go AFK. The mods are touchy about that, think it's 'not playing the game.'

But I agree. OoO shouldn't be a thing. Unfortunately, the balance dev has no problems with it, so good luck in expecting change. Also with DS.

  • I'm tired of survivors blitzing gens against my Demo. Gotta apply pressure, so suck it up, buttercup.

They do break it down by rank, in red ranks the kill rate actually goes up lol. But hopefully the new MMR system will fix a lot of these problems that people are having.

When, and where, did they show rank? Before or after it was busted? Last year, with god loops, or after?

  • @gendoss said:

It's because the average kill rate for killers is over 50%. There are some killers that even go up to 70 - 75%. I know somebody is going to respond with something like "statistics aren't everything!!!!" but if the game is unbalanced in the average match (which it is) as a developer you want to have your game stats balanced in general.

Most matches aren't a sweaty SWF and that's clear by the kill rates, that's why they've been tuning killer perks (even though they're always buffing weaker killers).

The problem with the kill rate statistic is that the devs never break it down. It's just 'Freddy has over 70% kill rate.' A lot goes into that kill rate, though. For instance, how many killers does Freddy get in brown ranks, vs red? What's the average skill of both sides? How many farmed, or died on first hook, or were afk, or memed? A lot goes into it, that the devs don't share, or don't know. Or care.

But this is par the course for the devs. They balance around the low end, so of course any stats they give are just a broad stroke. To get any real insight, you'd need to see the nitty gritty.

  • Nobody thinks he's weak. He's just not as good as he could be due to design choices. Mostly it comes from his addons, which for the most part, are incredibly bad. The fact that he broadcasts every action he's taking is another down side. Again, not weak, just average. Could be much better with tweaks.

  • I mean, Almo is pretty out of touch with the playerbase. Just look at the whole color blind fiasco. Not much you can do when the balance dev sees things from a purely statistical view point without looking at it any deeper.

Voice chat is a thing that exists in any online game. Calling people cowards for wanting to do it is cringe and there's no such thing as "playing the game as intented". People bought this game and they should play it as they wish as long they don't break the rules.

Except those games had team play in mind from the start. DbD was unique on release, where the LACK of information was built into the core of the game. So yeah, using comms is a huge boost, where it shouldn't be.

  • Probably because survivors have control over whether it activates or not.

Edit: Additionally, Almo seems to be fond of it in his builds, so I don't see a change coming any time soon.

  • The items, for one. If I see a bunch of flashlights against my Wraith, for instance. Or against a killer that I don't have Lightborn on yet. Bully squads, of course. TTV are another. Or the Hex: Insertquiphere players. Mori Me Killer is another.

I don't have a lot of time to play anymore, so when I do play, it's just to relax. Not in it for the sweat, and if a match just feels sweaty, well, I'm better off leaving.

"masterpiece". the only thing that has been released is a demo. why would you call an unreleased game a masterpiece? have you even played it?

You're taking this too literally, bud. Tongue in cheek post.

  • Depending on how the match goes, how I rate the survivor comp, I'll just tunnel the farmer out of the match, then farm with the one who they tried to farm off hook. Let them go. Hate being farmed off hooks.

  • Why did that 4 man swf with OoO take me to Haddonfield just so they could try and make me feel like an idiot?

It's just nature. In a game where you don't know the other person, you can do what you wish. Social norms don't exist. If somebody, or a group in my case, want to make you feel miserable, they will, because there are no consequences outside their own conscience.

  • Yes. They just suck at communication in general. Look at Almo as an example. They may haver good intentions, but actually laying that out for the player base, well, they are severely lacking. Why they couldn't just come out and say a color blind mode was in the works when they first started is beyond me. My guess? They haven't been working on it until recently. What other reason would there be to keep it in the dark?

Almost like a "Road Map" of sorts, i wouldn't mind if they brought that back. I don't need specific details but just general knowledge that lets me know what's going to happen, but BHVR doesn't like that because of time restraints.

I mean, it's not like they don't already have time restraints. They do put themselves up for every chapter/mid chapter, yet somehow produce buggy messes. At the very least, a road map would give us some expectation of what buggy mess we'll be seeing next.

  • Swamp and Haddonfield the last few days for me. Got some Autohaven, but that was from map offerings.

  • None, since I very rarely go against pc players.

  • Haddonfield. So frustrating when the survivor is right there in front of you, but you need to transverse a fence that's half the size of the map.

Swamp/Corn/Yamoka maps are pretty bad, simply because of all the tall reeds/corn.

  • Worthless. You've seen how tone deaf Almo is when it comes to balance, what makes you think it'll be of any use?

  • See if a three gen is possible based on the map I'm placed in, what killer I'm using, any Hex perks I have equipped, and what I can glean from the survivors in the lobby.

  • Failed grabs. It absolutely infuriates me when I see a grab go through, that split second freeze, then that Nea running off into the distance.

I mean, Freddy is mostly okay.

Undying ruin is broken especially on him, that's being changed soon.

He is getting changed eventually as well. If I had to guess, they will make him less spammy. Most of his problems are that he is brain dead easy to play for the most part because you don't even have to think about his powers they are almost always available to you. Something like that would make his skill ceiling higher and keep him comparably as strong which would be ideal.

A hex combo is broken. . . just think about that for a moment. A hex combo, which can be broken in under 30 seconds, is broken. Uh huh.

While I don't mind Freddy being tweaked (tweaked, not butchers like Nurse or made obsolete like Billy), changing hex perks simply because survivors don't want to do bones is stupid in my book.

  • No chase music. Just silence, so when he's chasing you, you have nothing to distract you from his majesty.

  • I don't really mind DH. I have a far more intense hatred for BT, but DH is fine. Sure, it can get annoying when I'm in a longer chase, only to see it reset with a DH to a pallet, but eh.

  • My go to build is Lithe, Quick and Quiet, Inner Strength, and Detectives Hunch. I tend to put more focus on totems, so I like Detectives. Works with Inner strength. If I want to focus gens more, I'll swap Detectives out for Dance With Me. It's fun losing a killer like that.

  • No, Haddonfield is the worst map, followed by certain iterations of the corn maps. Midwich, at least, looks fantastic.

  • No. If I don't like my odds, I'm leaving.

  • I'm not seeing the problem with the clip. What's worth noting?

  • 'As a killer main, I've never once had an issue with DS. Why? Because i'd rather lose knowing I refused to tunnel someone.'

Seems a little elitist. 'My rule book doesn't let me experience something you all obviously do.'

You get boldness points not objective points. Also they aren't an important objective and they are the most annoying objective to bother with.

Seriously? That's your argument? 'They aren't important, are are annoying?' Wasn't there a thread a few hours ago about afk killers, leaving only gens to do? Now survivors are complaining that totems are annoying. They literally give you additional points to feed your bloodpoint bank account, break up time between gens, and give you something to hunt a map for.

Maybe this isn't the game for ya, if you find the objectives boring? Or, I dunno, change mindset? I know when I run survivor, I enjoy Detectives Hunch, and make it my job to break all the totems. Doing my part and all.

  • What about if you're bloodlusted? Will that 10% be on top of the boost bloodlust gives?

  • @TheMythicalCat said:

Ruin Undying was way more oppressive.

Seriously? Doing bones is 'way more oppressive' than four survivors running the same combo?

  • If totems aren't an objective, why do you get secondary objective points for cleansing them. . .

  • @Sluzzy said:

Killers now must have more urgency to protect their gens. It's not like Ruin wasn't strong enough on its own.

It's not. Again, it's a Hex, and Hex's have been known to have terrible spawns. Either they're in the open, right next to a gen, or survivors spawn on top of it. By itself, it's not worth the perk slot.

  • @AhoyWolf said:

Well, I already use current Iron Maiden on Huntress, also I use it on the Twins, so this is a nice change!

How do you get any benefit out of IM with Huntress? Outside the map awareness, that 15 seconds only actually works if they're right next to you. 110% movement really hampers it.

  • Annoyed, seeing as DS/UB haven't been touched for years. But really, I don't mind the change too much. I didn't use the combo myself. I main Plague, and get better benefit out of Oppression/PoP, than Hex perks. It's nice hearing that tokens remain, however.

MY biggest problem, though, is survivors spawning on top of lit totems. I still fail to see how devs have yet to address this. It's the biggest reason I don't actually use Hex perks. Second being totems that spawn in open areas.

In case anybody wants to read the review for themselves.

But yes, i do agree with OP. The reviewer sounds like they put in a few hours into the game before writing. Which is fine, I suppose, but it gives the wrong impression

I did like how they pointed out that the more experienced you are, the less the 'horror' part of the game fades. Was a good call.

You know that Queue times do not have anything to do with Dodging? Since the Survivors will stay in the Lobby, despite a Killer freaking out because of a brown Toolbox?

Let alone that the Killer-Lock should not bother any Killer when Queues are instant, like many say.

It just bothers me because it's only half a mechanic that makes little sense when not paired with the reason it was created in the first place.

As for survivor queue times, doesn't a killer leaving the lobby place said lobby further back in the queue? Since it's 'supposed' to be looking for comparable ranks, when the killer leaves, doesn't it restart the search for another as close in rank as possible, working backwards again?

  • They claim it's to get a few extra chase points, but really, they're just flexing. If you know they're at the gates, go break some pallets. No need to feed into it.

  • If Legion is boring, what do you feel about Plague? She's just Legion on steroids.

  • Old Nurse, before the nerf. She was the killer that actually got me into DbD. Was finally landing blinks after weeks of hammering out muscle memory, then boom. Change. Threw everything off.

Moved from killer to killer after that until I found Plague, somebody I hadn't thought I'd enjoy. Now I love her to bits, mained her this last year.

  • I've wondered about the mechanics of that myself. More times than naught, the hatch will spawn near, or even right below, the survivor.

  • @ClarityOfWill said:

Am I the only one who's more genuinely surprised to only see 1 DS in that line up.

Nah. They only needed one so that the killer would have to play with the mindset of four, due to the obsession. A side effect of DS that just increases its power.

  • As a team? I haven't seen many, other than the toxic swf. But I've seen plenty of solos that will try and be the next Noob3 or Ochido, at the cost of the rest of the survivors. Had a Bill last night against my Hag that spent all his time teabagging me at loops. Wasn't even that good at chases.

Frankly, it disappoints me. Not because I want a decent game, but because I know how it feels to have horrible team mates. To have a team mate throwing the match, just to get some kind of weird gratification at butt dancing? If I see the remaining survivors trying to actually have a match, I'll let them out at the end, so long as I get to tenderize the one.

  • BT plays. Can you let me take three steps away from the hook before coming in with that BT play?
