Yes, they deserve big kudos. Silly me.

Spirit, somewhat. I can at least avoid most pallet play. Some windows are safe unless you break a nearby breakable wall. Not to mention there’s god pallets that not even Spirit can counter.

But doesn't the game count that as a kill? So it'll hurt you becoming the lowest.
Yup. Kills by the entity count towards MMR.

As if we needed more proof they have no idea what the hell is going on in their own game.
I get that it’s basically a beginner’s guide that won’t go into too many specifics, but that statement is just flat out wrong. Running in a straight line (in the open) wastes more time than zig zagging, which will lose you distance on the killer.

Exactly, yeah that sums everything up. That last part you stated is even why I made this post in the first place.
It's unsure if it's legit or not and that can be incredibly harmful to everyone, so I wanted to see if Bhvr can give a definite yes or no, but I guess the major reason why they didn't say anything or why the wording is weird because they are also in the dark themselves about this since it's the license holders making the agreement, not them.
Therefore it has nothing to do with BHVR (in-game stuff) so BHVR doesn’t need to confirm anything.

Bhvr's actual assets being used. You know, their actual model and name being used. Again, sure, Boss Protical said they were not working with Bhvr, but they did say they are working with the company that is working on the Ash vs Evil dead game and actually GUN media, which is the same company that made Friday the 13th.
Now, if you were a gaming company and I stole your assets and kept making NFTs solely based around them, what would you do? Ignore me? That's fine, I have no reason to stop then, I'll just keep doing it and doing it. While you know it's not real, not everyone does so I'll be making a profit off of them and while I'm hurting them.
They didn't know YOU didn't work with them and they were essentially just robbed and they may take it out on YOU because YOU didn't say anything.
That's why I made this post, if we can have a definitive answer we can hopefully avoid that situation completely, otherwise Bhvr can be hurt by this and might cause other licenses to become very finicky at the idea of partnering with them
There’s guys like Skeemoo (or whatever his name is) on YouTube that uses BHVR assets to generate custom 3D models. His channel appears monetized (ads) so he’s getting paid but BHVR doesn’t do anything about that.
It’s pretty obvious some things don’t need to be addressed. This NFT nonsense is one of those things.

The main target demographic, yes. I am just saying they need to keep high and low skill in mind as well when balancing.
To be fair, at the average skill level this game is pretty good balance wise. At high skill level it's not that bad anymore in my opinion, but there is still quite a bit to improve.
I respectfully disagree that it’s not bad at higher MMR.

Never gonna happen. It would make the game “unfun” for survivors.

You could of said that when the devs tested something similar already
There was a PTB where they tried to combat camping by making the timer pause when ever the killer was near, this was abused.
It should never pause, though. That would be easily abused - like you said.
Unfortunately I don’t play on PC so I never have access to PTB.

16m isnt really that big, a killer could simply wait right outside of the area while still keeping a close eye on the hook
And survivors could abuse this by looping near the hook giving the 2 others even more time than they do now to do gens
Maybe increase the range to 20m or whatever is reasonable. And if a killer getting looped near the hook, that’s where the strategy aspect comes in.

I would argue they do try to keep all skill level plays in mind. But it's just currently very tough to balance the game for all skill levels
It’s impossible to balance for all skill levels. Average skill should be the target demographic.

What amazes me is the complete stupidity to go and buy an NFT, say a picture of Pinhead, and feel like you actually accomplished anything, when anyone can screenshot that picture of Pinhead and have it on their computer in 5 seconds.
Exactly. It’s peoples fault for falling for this dumb #########.
BHVR isn’t your daddy that needs to teach you life lessons.

@Shroompy said:
Back in the day if I recall correctly each hook stage was only 45 seconds
All it did was give a stronger incentive to camp and you wouldnt get punished nearly as hard, and we dont need another reason to complain about camping.
Also having Exhaustion slow down survivors would absolutely decimate the perks, I think they should just make them huff and puff MUCH louder. This would make instances were even if a survivor isnt running an exhaustion perk, it would still be a some what threatning status effect as theyre easier to track
Did you read the rest of his post? He said that if a killer is camping then hook progression would be SLOWED - meaning you get penalized for camping.
I think that’s an awesome idea. It forces survivors to pick between letting a hooked survivor die faster on hook or doing their gen, while rewarding the killer for leaving the vicinity of the hook.

They are balancing it around average-level play. They can't balanced around high-level play and aren't balancing it around low-level play.
That’s the better mindset. However, average level survivors can still pop 2-3 gens as you finish your first chase. Game is currently in a state where unless you run gen perks and resort to unfun tactics like tunneling or camping, you will have to sweat your bells off to have a fighting chance.

I'm being sarcastic. Killer players really don't want Boons to be the exact same as Hexes. But they keep asking for Boons to be like Hexes.
The killer is one player, survivors are 4 and have access to a combined 16 perks. Of course the survivor version of a “hex” (boon) should be comparably weaker than the killer’s version.
Survivors should NEVER be individually stronger than a killer. That’s why I believe a Boon Totem should share the same risk as a Hex, but not be at quite the same level strength-wise.

bruh they literally have the Pinhead voice actor, you're massively underselling this and you know that.
You know I can go to Cameo and have any listed celebrity send me a message of my choice? Like if I wanted to, I could pay Woody Harrelson (actor for Carnage) to say “Hey, looking forward to seeing y’all in Dead by Daylight” and then create a fake page advertising the Carnage DLC.

I work for a department that deals with unemployment, that statement alone is inaccurate. It doesn't seem like it because you're not actively looking. But, there are so many numbers people had use that my job ALONE needed to save each Fraud number and update it on to our sites to warn people of these documented numbers since they are not ours.
Now the IRS even has a subsection talking about situation as well. They even have a similar situation like we do where they save Robo callers and scammer's numbers as well.
You're statement is actually invalid in this particular case.
Well it’s good to know some stuff is being done in the background for that, but it’s accurate in my case.
I’ve gotten a few IRS scam calls yet I’ve never received any kind of notice from the IRS saying “hey, you just got a scam call” or “look out for scam calls”. Not that I needed them to tell me.

Spirit is not dead, I really doubt it at least. She does have some actual, none-luckbased counterplay though. Most people are happy about these changes. Trappers buff is definitely nice, so is Plagues. Also, I fail to see how Plague is one of the worst killers in this game. She can keep everyone one-shot, or have survivors cleanse and then gain more access to an incredibly strong power.
Keys were actually gutted, though, another great change for killers.
Yes, the two new boon perks sound pretty damn strong, but I doubt they'll be stronger than meta perks we already have, at least now with the nerfs they announced in mind. Afew survivor perks got some nice buffs as well, but so did a few killer perks, mainly Retribution, and in particular, Hex: Blood Favor.
This game may have used to be incredibly one sided, but it's not anymore. There's no doubt to me that the game is sitll survivor sided at the very high level of play, but winning as killer isn't impossible either, at least or especially when you get a balanced map. You might need to camp and tunnel in too many situations though, but that's a general balance problem, and a strategy that can actually be good for killer.
I doubt we'll see too much of a killer shortage after the patch or in the future. The devs care for both sides, they have shown it again and again, and this patch shows it as well. They just aren't as effective and good at balancing as I wish they were, hence why the game is arguably still survivor sided at the highest mmr.
But there's also the issue of swf vs solo, and that killers generally have an above average kill rate at lower ranks. So just buffing killers left and right will make low ranks possible very unfun for survivors.
Games shouldn’t NEVER be balanced for low ranks, in my opinion.
If you cater to this small demographic, all it does it wildly unbalance it at the other end (high ranks) - which is what we’re seeing today. Also, people don’t tend to be stuck at the bottom if they play regularly - they’ll eventually get good enough to be an average skilled survivor with decent game knowledge (looping, how to counter certain killers, etc).

I'd be fine with that as long as Killers didn't know if there were or were not boon totems, they spawn at the beginning of the match, the cover the entire map and they made the same inaudible crackling noise that Hex Totems make. Plus, the next boon totem should be an Undying boon totem.
Free aura block, no scratch marks and healing map-wide?
You’re either trolling or just another biased survivor main.

SIX CHARACTERS and it'd be done
When a scam is so obvious why is there a need to discredit it? The IRS doesn’t do ######### about all the fake IRS scams people get hit every day.
-
It should just be to get a 4K.
Getting adept is ridiculously easy on some killers, but difficult with others due to the nature of their power.
Also, by limiting yourself to potentially zero gen defense perks (based on the killer) it can be nigh impossible to get iridescent in that defender category.
-
So if I post something like this:
“Hey guys! I’m selling a discounted code for the upcoming Carnage killer DLC.
Stay tuned.”
You’re telling me BHVR should post a tweet denying this claim because there’s gullible people out there?
-
No, killers should not be able to be re-light their hexes.
But survivors shouldn’t be able to re-light their boons, either.

@Malkhrim said:
I really don't see what's the point of nerfing something that can counter a new mechanic. New mechanics are healthier for the game if they have counters.
Specially when the perk that could be used for it is one of the most underused hex perks.
I really don’t understand how you don’t know the answer to your question, man.
It’s fairly obvious that BHVR caters to the survivors. Anyone that says otherwise is in denial because they need to defend their ego - they can’t fathom the idea that they’re not actually gods at the game, but rather that they start with the upper hand.
-
Not necessary… instead:
Remove perk tiers.
Make blood webs less random (always include a specific amount of items from each rarity: for example 2 Ultra Rare, 3 Very Rare, 4 Rare, 5 Uncommon, 6 Common.
Goes in conjunction with my point above: Make blood webs smaller. No gives a damn about the “strategy” in blood webs, it’s just pure grind.

Because a perk is very good against 1/25 killers or by the sole reason that they are getting a fair counterplay you dont need to nerf it.
should we then also nerf the perk calm spirit for clown, doctor and the cenobite?
Stridor was nerfed because it was good one on killer as well. Tit for tat. Also, people don’t run Iron Will solely for Spirit; it’s effective versus every killer in the game.
I’d personally love a nerf to Iron Will. Something simple like what someone already mentioned: it only works when not moving.

Pretty much this.
It’s common sense that chapters will continue to be sold on the platforms that have previously been used:

Why doesnt it make sense that the game should be balanced. Tell me then.
Let me clarify:
Killer should be the Power Role, no question. However, it should still be balanced enough so survivors have methods to counter them. As it stands today, survivors still have too many strong tools to counter the killer which makes playing survivor the Power Role because THEY dictate how the match goes - not the killer.

It doesn’t make sense for the side with one player (killer) to be outmatched by the side with more players (survivors). Just makes for dull gameplay.

It needs to be balanced enough to a point where the match results vary frequently, because that's what makes the game fun, being surprised.
In Friday The 13th The Game jason is absolutely the power role. The problem with this is that counsellor gameplay is just not fun because dying seems inevitable most of the time. So, that's why they made jason a random chance. Because if you could select them, no one would play counsellor.
This is what I hate about asymmetrical games:
“Survivor” players think having fun means you should win (escape) every game without trouble. Maybe they hope for just enough of a challenge so they don’t feel bad about it being a curbstomp.

Well same counts for the second blink. As long as a Nurse isn't too close, you have time to react to a blink by judging those tells. And as long as you are dealing with first blinks your movement should lead you to that safe distance for the second one. Besides it's possible to use a pallet to counter the second blink partially. I know people claim that she ignores them, but that isn't completely right, because she has to commit to one of the two sides of the pallet and throwing it can push her blink back/block a lunge.
Anyway of course at some point you will find yourself outpositioned, but that is kinda the rule for all chases, when a killer plays perfect. Doesn't changes the fact, that it takes them still quite some time.
Besides that Nurse isn't comparable to Spirit, because like I said, she has a bunch of tells. You always can see where she will blink to and what she is doing. She has a clear visual and audio feedback of her power.
Bro, play against top tier Nurses like Supa Alf. No one is perfect so of course even a Nurse player can make mistakes… but those great ones will have you down very quickly. Faster than a Spirit can, that’s for damn sure.

There is a lot of power creep happening on the killer side, they shouldn't be any shame in making new strong perks for survivors too. You can't possibly nerf survivor meta because they are so situational and already weak, especially compared to killer meta that is so oppressive.
Spirit, a strong killer = hard nerfed.
Deathslinger, a strong 1v1killer = hard nerfed.
Trapper, a relatively weak setup killer for years = QoL buffs + addon rework.
Wraith, a strong stealth killer = Lunge nerfed for absolutely no good reason.
Where is this killer power creep you’re talking about?

Yes, anything perfect is uncounterable.
You have Nurse as your PFP so I’m not going to argue with you about this lol.
I have no problem with Nurse being a strong killer, but she literally has the same amount of counterplay as Spirit: guessing. You can guess/determine how long and which direction Nurse will blink but ultimately you’re at her mercy.
It’s just funny how people generally think that because Nurse takes more mechanical skill to play that makes her more “okay” than Spirit.
-
@Freudentrauma said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2550665#Comment_2550665
Well then you shouldn't stand still in the open. I mean, you can hear a Nurse charging her blinks, you can see the direction she is pointing at and if it isn't a very short/quick charged blink have definitively time to react to it and outposition. She has a lot of tells survivor just ignore.
She has 2 blinks… a good nurse will typically use the first blink to get near you then react to your movement and use her second blink to smack you. That’s IF she didn’t already hit you with the first blink. Sometimes good movement will throw her off and you buy yourself a few more seconds but other than that you’re screwed.
-

Defind a perfect blink? Is it the same as a perfect M1?
POV: A Nurse sees you, then times her blink perfectly so she lands right on your butt. You can’t counter that. The only thing you can hope for is that the Nurse messes up her blink (over/under blinks).

Agreed.
Add-ons are important, but imo basekit is more, no killer should be add-on dependent, like Myers for example.
How would you put Myers up there?
Exactly. Some killers are wholly add-on dependent to be even worth playing which is terrible game design.
Myers is interesting. I don’t think he’s entirely add-on dependent, as he only has a few add-ons that straight up buff him without nerfing other aspects of him (J Myers Memorial, Memorial Flower). Certain add-ons like Tuft of Hair and Bow increase his Tier 3 time at the cost of stalking requirements. His basekit does need some QoL changes, though.

Nurse gives a lot of information if you pay attention. What information does a standing Spirit give again?
How do you counterplay a perfect blink? You can’t.
Pre-Nerf Spirit can still be cucked by Iron Will, pallets and good windows.
-
People complained about no counterplay for Spirit… how about a killer that ignores pallets, windows, walls and general looping? I present to you… the Nurse!
It would be nice if they made her smoother/less buggy to play, though.

Why can't you just change the gameplay when you pick scratch mirror?
I think he needs basekit changes, i think we shouldn't have killers that are so much apart in strength look at the Oni or Blight for example, obviously I'm not saying all killers should be like that, but there should be that much stronger than the others, plus Ghostface does everything better than Myers, and he can much more stealthier than Myers.
All killers SHOULD be good/threatening like Oni and Blight. There should never be a weak killer on the roster.
To the OP, I’m really hoping Legion gets a rework. His power is so boring and underwhelming.

Not saying its a bug but an annoyance. Since its not a big issue its not worth changing the perk or how the system tracks items.
Correct. It can be annoying. But I laugh if a killer gives me a free escape/win just to force me to lose an item.
