Even though I'm a survivor main, I'm actually okay with the generator regressing while being blocked (maybe slower though, for balance sake). It's such a rare perk (you're limited by hooking the obsession for it to activate, and that can only happen so many times. And for that to even happen, you'd have to outplay the obsession to get the hook. The obsession might be better at looping, or you'd get flashlighted/pallet stunned/decisive striked out of getting the hook). It certainly would make the game more interesting. But it's entirely possible that in an actual game it would be too OP. shrug Good ideas, though.

Well you could get immense value from this perk if you combo it with Nemesis (maybe even Furtive Chase + MYC).

Those are interesting ideas. I like that you used details from the movie to come up with perks (i.e.: Imhotep just wanted to be with Anck-Su-Namun and that's the foundation for Chosen Sacrifice). Chosen Sacrifice with Pop would be an insane combo. That could take a nearly complete gen and nearly drain it.

Well with the way “entity-blocked” generators work in DBD, they wouldn’t regress while the perk is active on it. BUT it would prevent survivors from immediately hopping back on a gen of your choosing so you can immediately put pressure on another gen or a chase.

could we perhaps have a skin for Plague as a mummy? and uhm maybe an actual own plague map?

Plague has her own map, Temple of Purgation.

  • Toxic survivors (name calling, etc.) who message me after a game will be added to my mori list.

  • Mummy Perks:

HEX: Mummified Alive - “The mummification process in the realm of the entity takes control of survivors attempting to prevent the inevitable .” Reduces the rate at which downed survivors can pick themselves up or get healed from dying state by 40/50/60%.

Chosen Sacrifice - “The monster’s desire to sacrifice one’s life in order to be reunited with another grants it immense power.” After hooking your obsession, the next generator you break will be blocked by the entity for 25/30/35 seconds.

Sacrilege - “The mistakes of those crossing lines they shouldn’t drives you to find and punish them.” Whenever a survivor misses a skill check, all survivor auras within your terror radius will be revealed for 3/4/5 seconds.

  • Imhotep and Rick O’Connell would be a great chapter duo.

I wish Behaviour would stop introducing challenges that encourage counterintuitive play. My advice to them is: For any challenge you introduce, assume players will focus on that challenge above all else, to the detriment of all other game mechanics and objectives. Now, knowing that, what is the absolute worst situation that can arise from it?

If the answer is anything resembling the angst that this challenge is causing, you probably need to rethink the challenge.

This is what I’ve always said: the devs implement challenges that are detrimental to core gameplay.

How hard is it to make more of difficult, but skill based challenges? The one for Huntress with hitting 2 hatchets from 15+ meters away is a good, simple example.

Guys we probably all had outfits that we would have wanted to win and some but we didn't but can we have some respect for the people who put a lot of hard work into their designs.

Just reading through the comments on this thread it makes me think how ungrateful is community could be sometimes the developers are actually giving us a chance to make some cosmetics for of favourite characters and people putting all their effort and you guys literally just try to tear them down.

To the person going around calling the Legion design unoriginal and a rip-off seriously get your priorities together. It's actually an amazingly creative skin with a theme of a changing mask that I really hope they incorporate if you don't like it that's fine doesn't mean you need to sling unnecessary hatred on the person who made it can you imagine being the designer of this and just reading some of these comments.

keep in mind this is coming from somebody who would rather have preferred the twisted innocence or come apart for Susie to win. However this design was definitely my third favourite out of all the killer side and massive props to the person made it if you're reading this ignore all the comments that are just trashing on you.

As for the Claudette design it's nice honestly I like the designs that kind of subvert the initial stereotype of the survivors built around. It's nice to have the character have something else more unique in their cosmetic inventory rather than outfits that tend to just follow a certain theme. Get me wrong cosmetics that match the character are amazing but it is nice to get some subversion every now and then especially when you're someone who likes mix matching different cosmetics.

Long and short of it these are some amazing designs and I'm really glad and happy that the creators managed to put a lot of work and effort into them. You guys did a really good job and I hope you pay more attention to the positive feedback than the unnecessary negative whining.

On the contrary, I see a lot of people here respecting the work and skill of the artists. And while I agree that the quality of artwork is subjective to each person’s point of view, there is common sense that can be applied here.

For example, an “artist” can paint a bunch of lines with various colors on a canvas and call it “art”. While some may appreciate something like that, the majority of people would just call it simplistic, which would be a true statement. The winning Claudette skin is only original in the sense that it’s out of character for her. That outfit looks like a clone of the ones Nea or Meg already have with an exposed midriff.

While the art itself is well-done, it hardly qualifies as an “original concept” like what the devs stated they were looking for in their contest rules.

While the Legion is not my favorite character, the color-changing theme of the winning submission for this killer is actually original and therefore meets the criteria for the contest rules.

    What?!?!

Candyman, or anything Clive Barker, was HUGE here in Australia during the 80’s and 90’s

Do you face Fungoose a lot in game, mate? Crikey!

To the OP - I’m glad it wasn’t Candyman. Seems like he’d come with a silly power but the Devs have been pretty creative so who am I to judge?

Its not that blood warden is a bad perk its that its easily countered by 99ing the gate, which is a broken mechanic imo. It should regress slowly back to 50.

NOED should be changed to regress gates while they’re not being worked on (+ a temporary 4% speed boost, like 80 seconds) and remove the Hex part of it.

  • Some people seem to think that BHVR can just nab licensed properties with a click of a button. Perhaps other licenses are just not possible to obtain at the moment.

For BHVR to get a hold of the Silent Hill IP for DBD is a great feat... anyone who is up to date with Konami (owners of SH) will understand that.

Didnt you guys also say that it would be an emotional milestone? a iconic killer? a mysterious survivor?

Silent Hill is an iconic game in the horror genre. Pyramid Head is (probably) the most recognizable entity from that franchise. I don’t see how BHVR is wrong for saying this would be an iconic license (if they did in fact say that).

  • @ChiTenshi said:

I prefer Sprint Burst for the following reasons:

    • It’s safer, you don’t have to be injured to use the Perk
    • If you learn the 99 tech, your movement isn’t restricted and you can use Sprint Burst mid-chase rather than always during the beginning
    • You can use it as a pseudo-lithe/balanced landing by sprinting after doing a vault or falling from a great height to achieve similar results
    • Using the above, can be combined with Quick & Quiet or Dance With Me to confuse the Killer during a chase
    • Sync-wise, it’s more reliable than Dead Hard. The amount of times I use Dead Hard and still go down due to sync issues is too high

    Basically, this.

Dead Hard is too unreliable (exhausted on ground) and requires you to be injured, which makes Sprint Burst the objectively better perk.

Short Chucky is the Iconic Chucky. But I do think the height would be a bit of an issue that would need a cleaver resolution

That’s what I think would be problematic. Something so short would be easily outran.

  • Why not just make Chucky an adult size doll to solve the height issue?

Personally, I would hate having Chucky as a DBD killer. It would be horrible if he comes into the game in his 2.5 foot form.

I wish it was his, but it wasnt Otz' build or playstyle(although Otz was definitely scarier). It simply was a regular clown using insidious from the rafters, probably inspired by otz, and because he had devour hope, he kept a bit more distance, but we never knew he was upstairs and just waiting for us to slowly walk towards him so he could swandive. Its utterly terrifying. Let alone that we had no clue where to start moving, because once he had 3 devour stacks, he just randomly picked a generator, stood close to it, but just out of sight, waited for insidious and once he heard it being worked on he came around the corner taking 2 people with ease. And if he got bored, he simply stood around a random corner, waiting for one of us to use that path and scare the ######### out of that person. I couldnt even know where the killer was with Spine Chill. I knew he was looking at me, but I didnt know if he did it on purpose and was secretly waiting for me to get closer, or if he just happened to look in my direction while he was listening for nearby grass to move. It really makes you stop and look around, then try and guess where the killer is, investigate from a distance to make sure and hope you dont accidentally walk into him.

Scariest game I ever played and we only ended up finishing 3 gens. We were too afraid to go to any generator without looking everywhere in the first place, and it turned out that this ######### also ran discordance, so once we did find a generator, ofcourse we would start working on it together to finish it ASAP, and if he thought the gen was too far, he simply didnt come and kept waiting. Yet people still claim insidious is a terrible perk. If you can use insidious in your favor, you can literally scare survivors to such an extend that they are too afraid to run around in the first place and will think twice about every single move they make. Want to go for the devour? What if he is watching that totem from a distance and just waiting for someone to start cleansing it, only to take that person out? Want to go through that window for a shortcut to another gen? What if he is on the opposite side leaning against the wall just waiting for someone to be lazy and take a shortcut? Want to unhook a player? What if he dug a hole in the ground and will grab my ankles once I try to unhook the survivor? You never know with those type of players, they could somehow pull it off too.

Sounds pretty fun! I wish we had more games like that. Every game is just a sweatfast, typically.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1292692#Comment_1292692

You've never faced a clown with insidious doing a swandive from the rafters then. Dbd still has a horror element to it, but the horror is depending on the killer.

Which actually is funny, the more efficient a killer plays, ditching any roleplay of being scary, the more I can focus and the more easily I can help my teammates escape. The less efficient a killer plays, roleplaying into something with constant jumpscares, the less I can focus and the more easily I make mistakes, ending up in me accidentally killing myself or one of my teammates in the process.

Are you talking about Otzdarva’s Shinobi Clown?

  • DBD lost its horror element a long time ago. In a world with Elf Dwight cosmetics, a Scooby Doo Chapter wouldn’t be a massive departure from the norm.

  • My point still stands. If you have nothing to add to the fact that killers don’t lose points for camping, move along.

  • @FlamingkittyUmad said:

Like an advanced Urban evasion with high risk/ high reward: Press the Activate Ability button while crouching and moving forward to go prone (lie down on your stomach). Normal Dying movement speed, affected by Tenacity.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1292368#Comment_1292368

    No, nobody actually thinks that.

It's just that reasonable people know what "losing" means in the context. As in, the loss of potential gain incurred by the opportunity cost of camping the hook rather than pursuing objectives.

If one wishes to be pedantic, make sure you're at least on-base.

You’ve read every comment on here? I’ve seen people explicitly say it in the context I mentioned. Not a lot, but some.

My post was merely to emphasize that killers don’t lose points for camping, which is another motivator to do just that. There’s no negative to camping when many survivors will refuse to let someone go into struggle or die on hook.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1292324#Comment_1292324

Killers get a decent amount of BP for each hook.

So while they do get the stage BP each stage on a single hook to death they didn't hook BP for means losing out on the hook sacrifice BP points for the rest of the match.

The correct phrasing would then be: “Killers don’t gain additional bloodpoints...” or “Killers miss out on bloodpoints”... my point is that some people erroneously think that you are actually getting bloodpoints deducted when in reality it’s only emblem points that take a hit.

  • @Bovinity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1291667#Comment_1291667

They're already losing BP by camping as long as you don't all run face first into them.

I hope everyone understands that killers don’t “lose” bloodpoints by camping. They don’t gain any additional aside from the hooked-survivor/entity summoned/sacrificed, but they definitely aren’t having bloodpoints removed as some people claim. It only negatively affects their Emblem score, which no one really cares about... especially camping killers.

So you're not reading what I'm saying, since I've mentioned multiple times that there's no way to be sure you're being targeted for being a streamer unless the person admits it. Got it.

It ultimately doesn’t matter whether he’s being targeted for being a streamer or not, the griefing is the same. He provided proof and a mod admitted that his proof is enough to get someone banned, case closed.

  • @drunky26 said:

You do realise hatch shouldn't even exist in the game and is just an easy free escape for survivors ?

So you want the last survivor to stall out the game by hiding instead of doing any gens? Got it.

The hatch serves a good purpose: making sure the game isn’t taken hostage by the last survivor.

To the OP’s point - No, the current hatch mechanic is fine the way it is. If the killer already knows where the hatch is and goes straight there after the death hook of the 2nd to last survivor you should be making a gate or key play.

  • @Fibijean said:

I agree with you about the grind (and the fact that it's like that might suggest that lack of generosity is at least part of the motivation behind not including AC on the free track).

However, it is worth remembering that every 100 auric cells they give away is worth $1. Even if they only gave away 200 auric cells on the free track, if 10,000 people complete the Rift, that's $20,000 they've just given away. If they do that for every Rift, it's $80,000 a year. For a billion-dollar company like Activision or Epic, that might not be a big deal, and they can afford to effectively give away that kind of money for the sake of longer-term profit, but it's possible that BHVR, whose annual revenue represents a tiny fraction of either of those, might simply not be able to afford to do something like that.

    Basically, this.

You paid $20 or however much for a standard 4v1 game. Any additional content given for free should be happily accepted and in no way are the devs obligated to give it away for free. Auric Cells = $$$. You wouldn’t stand on a corner and hand out free dollar bills after a payday, and neither is BHVR.

I don't even run the perk, so don't pull that card bud. I just asked a simple question. And from your discussions you are the last person I need an opinion from.

    Run along now.

You’re getting my opinion regardless, bud.

The speed boost is enough to get you a hit when you otherwise wouldn’t. Like I said, just don’t miss.

  • You mean if you haven’t gotten a safe unhook until after you’ve been hooked once you can automatically jump off hook? DS would be mandatory. Seems like a strange effect to implement.

  • Leatherface = NOED and Insidious, camp everyone to death. Kill people that refuse to do gens while their teammate is on hook.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

I'd rather it put you into the role with faster queue times, 1 survivor for each killer would probably kill killer queue times.

That’s what it would do (without getting my into programming specifics)... put you in the faster queue.

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

Or they make it possible to activate two challenges, one killer, one survivor

That’s true! Probably a much easier “fix” to implement. Allow for 1 killer and 1 survivor challenge to be activated at once. If it’s a mutual challenge (like bloodpoints earned) then that would be the only challenge active for a match.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I think the only mild issue (that should be fixable) is knowing which Archive Challenge to have on. If I have my challenge for Survivors on and I get put in the Killer Queue, I'm going to be bummed.

Other than that, I'd love for that feature. I play pretty 50/50 and so I'm game to play either role. Heck, sometimes I kind of want to play both so letting "fate" decide which mode to play would be fun.

You’re right about the archive challenge selection... hopefully the devs make it so you can change this so you can edit the challenge when you’ve loaded into the the pre-game lobby.

    @KingFrost said:

So basically a "Play Killer" button on most versions. Though I guess this would actually be useful on Switch, where wait times vary greatly for both sides.

True... but it’s free bonus BPs and less wait time for the player selecting Random.

  • Gotcha. Well you’re right, that’s tough to counter but it’s still possible. Predict when in the loop they’ll expend their Dead Hard then go the other way to the other side of the pallet or window... this strategy helps me catch those DH for Distance players.

Typically when using DH you have to look straight for an accurate use, otherwise if you’re looking behind you it’s possible to bump into a wall. Use this window of time to change your direction and catch them off-guard.

Something like that could work as well, yes, and I believe there will be something similar in the third or fourth part of this tome (maybe it will be just Hit 2 survivors while using Discordance but yeah, they could work on them)

I still think that the challenges which are not strictly tied to the "regular" gameplay are fun (as long as you don't screw your team over them) so having one or two every Tome is still nice imho

I agree with that last thought. The thing about the crows challenge is that I see killers and survivors purposefully running around the map like headless chickens trying to complete it... it’s very annoying when you’re a solo queue survivor and you have already-bad teammates doing silly challenges to further screw you over.

  • @Lycidas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1284970#Comment_1284970

True, but I think they are trying to mix "free" and "premium" characters to balance things out

Maybe they could do challenges with a combination of perk from the same character (like Vault using Dance with Me AND Windows of Opportunity) so the challenge is still tied to the Rift character and you could use the opportunity to get the Adept achievement as well

That’s a good suggestion! Or use Feral Frenzy after Discordance lights up and hit 2 survivors.

Just stuff that’s more unique and is aimed towards performing well in a match, not wasting time like a lot of people do for the crows challenge.

  • @Lycidas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1283246#Comment_1283246

Oh ok so you were talking about strictly perk combination challenges

Those could be fun as well I believe, personally I treat the perk challenges as they were perk combo as you said, because if I have to vault 3 windows while using Dance with Me you can bet your ass I'll slap Lithe or Windows of Opportunity in the build

I'd be a bit upset tho if they end up making a combo challenge with a perk that I have and one that I don't have

Yeah, it’d be unfortunate for those cases... but many of the challenges are already tied to paid DLC (play as Legion, Jane, etc) so the devs obviously want you buying these characters and expect you to have the teachable perks.

  • @Lycidas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1283207#Comment_1283207

In Tome 3 we have 7 challenges tied to specific perks, while only 1 which asks you to scare 50 crows, so they are kinda doing what you said?

If it’s just for variety’s sake, so be it. Perk combo challenges would be my PERSONAL preference, but if people actually enjoy the crow challenge that’s completely fine too.

  • @Peanits said:

Do you care to explain why you disagree with the point that was made, or did you just want to clip four words out of context?

Maybe the fact that any non-SWF will get destroyed versus a camping Bubba is evidence enough? Camping killers need to be punished by SLOWING the hooked survivor’s death timer when the killer isn’t in chase. That way camping becomes MUCH LESS viable.

  • @Cardgrey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/152823/disturb-50-crows

The only reason is variety I mean you can only have so many pallet stuns and hook objectives.

    I agree...

But perk challenges would be more fun and engaging. For example, run For the People + Empathy and heal a survivor with the perk. There’s so much the devs could do (easily) to make the challenges more interesting.

  • I would prefer specific challenges like use Deliverance and escape the trial... or mori someone with Devour Hope at 5 stacks. THOSE would be more interesting as far as changing your playstyle (if you don’t use those perks).

  • Guys, I already said it took me 2 games to complete. I’m NOT saying it’s hard... just pointless (because there is no benefit to disturbing crows as killer or survivor).

I’m asking why you guys think this was added as a “challenge”. Just seems like they added it for the sake of variety.

  • Some “nerfed” maps are actually still disgusting. The Rancid Abbatoir loop in the slaughterhouse is insane.

  • I only send “GG EZ” to the opponents when I win. Why are they getting mad? I’m clueless, please help.
