The power icon and gen count really irk me in particular
Imagine just having this big, ugly, gray square in the corner for no reason on killers such as Wraith who don't use cooldowns/ammo
-
Depends whether the standardized movement speed while carrying is applied after or before the antidote
This would be cool if it works

You’re kidding right?
PGTW is already really strong (and sometimes still complained about), and can only be used a maximum of 12 times.
There would be absolutely no reason to use PGTW if Overcharge could regress gens 25% with any kick, no conditions necessary, AND a survivor still incurs the 15% penalty for failing Overcharge.
This idea is far too broken I’m sorry.
If we're being honest, Pop does not have 12 uses
10 maximum considering there will only be 1 survivor left after 11
Once there are 3 survivors left using Pop is often a waste of time + there are many points in a match where you will not have the opportunity to use it on the right generators, especially after the nerf

Last time they.... tried
The devs rationalized not revealing MMR by saying that, if players could see it, they would be toxic comparing MMR with others and figure out how to abuse the rating system.
So basically the devs know that the calculation for MMR is scuffed and hope that if they just don't show the numbers nobody will be able to criticize them.
-
In less than 6 hours a random redditor made something better than the devs
Honestly I don't even feel like complaining anymore it just makes me sad

Anyone who knows anything about graphic design or just has common sense can tell you that taking a big fat information diarrhea over someone's screen is not helping anyone.

While you have easy instant downs. Sure this won't work for lower rank survivors but all red ranks do now a days is gen rush. Devs have been hiding totems better and survivors generally won't look for totems unless they know you have a hex, by the time DH procs it is too late.
"Devs have been hiding totems better"
-
Wow, now survivors have to find a grand total of 2 giant glowing totems to completely remove half of your perks
Truly incredible

Because getting BHVR to make any kind of correct balance decision is like pulling teeth.
It's like there's a faction of devs that really know the game, and then there's one rank 20 survivor main from Reddit who gets equal input on balance decision to all of the competent devs.
Gee I wonder who that one dev might be... no naming and shaming tho 🤫

If you're such a vegetable-person that you can't hit a single skill check you deserve to get tunneled to death.
-
I sort of hope the game goes F2P like Deathgarden just so I can witness it get absolutely demolished by cheaters and bots.
Maybe then the devs will consider a better anti-cheat or a report system that doesn't require a full 5-page essay and autobiography.

I've stated multiple times, that my problem with the perk is the use-case. While the perk itself may not be that strong, the only use-cases for the perk are inherently unfun for the other side and can be abused.
While there may be other perks that are good for slugging strategies, their use cases are not only to promote slugging. Infectious Fright gives a lot of information and can be used to counter flashlight users. Insta-downs allow killers to generate a lot of pressure and get quick downs. The only purpose of knock-out is to encourage killers to slug.
OoO is a perk that when un-abused and used in solo queue isn't that strong. In fact, the devs main justification for not nerfing it is because OoO users have a high death rate. So if it's not overpowered, and there are stronger alternatives for helping survivors survive, then why does most of the playerbase find OoO to be a problem?
Well that's the thing:
OoO is one of the best perks to help survivors escape, its just that it moreso helps the team as a whole rather than the user.
People who abuse it are rare so random rank 20 Lauries who didn't even read the perk description probably drag down the survival rate as well.
-
Not enough people play killer so the game gets progressively more lenient with matchmaking the longer survivors wait in queue until this kind of thing happens.

It doesn't - in fact, you may only be able to pull off slugging all four players one in every 5 games. However, that doesn't change that in the right circumstances against solos, you can completely ruin the game for them.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1851563#Comment_1851563
If there's anything the devs have shown us with their methodology to balance, blindly looking at the performance of a perk without looking at the use-cases is bad practice. Otherwise, OoO should not be changed because it is "underperforming". I will agree that the rework was counterproductive and didn't bring the perk more use, however I have an issue with the base perk itself.
... So we both agree that Knock-Out is not overpowered and that there are stronger alternatives for slugging, so why is Knock-Out a problem?
It seems your interpretation of ruining the game for survivors is 4-man slugging, but Knock-Out has nothing to do with this. You can slug just as easily with Knock-Out as without it most times.
You could complain about instadowns or Infectious and I could maybe see where you are coming from, but even solos understand they need to walk around and pick up their buddies once everyone starts hitting the floor vs Knock-Out.

I'm looking forward to collecting 100s of cakes for all my killers so I can alleviate some of this game's soul-crushing grind.

No.
Every time we get stats and they tell us not to take anything from them, what do we do.....
Well considering the devs themselves justify their decisions using the stats it would be hypocritical to tell us not to use them. OoO comes to mind.
Maybe we would be able to come to better understand the devs and get a clearer picture of the average game if they would just give us the full statistics instead of little parcels to bicker over. Show kill rates before/after mori nerf, excluding games with DC/suicide, with/without at least 3-man SWF etc.

@lowiq said:
You answered your own question. "With Twins being out, this perk would be pretty gross on them". It's not only gross on twins, but basically any killer that wants to abuse it against solos.
Have you ever played against a knockout killer that tries to get all survivors to bleed out?
You're talking about Knock-Out as if its this completely game altering perk that suddenly allows the killer to instantly slug all four survivors at 5 gens.
It does almost nothing most of the time. You would be much better off running Haunted Grounds or Infectious Fright to slug hard.

So many posters who think that "stretched res" is referring to unusual monitor sizes. In this context Stretched Res is referring to stretching the vertical resolution specifically so that you can see over obstacles in loops that you're not supposed to see over. As in you're playing at a 1:1 ratio instead of roughly a 4:3 ratio. It's a significant advantage in loops because it makes it much harder for a killer to mindgame at the loop when you can see them.
Tru3ta1ent posted a video a while back with side-by-sides of it. The first two examples, for instance, are a normal 1280 x 780 resolution and a stretched 1080 x 1080 resolution. There are no monitors with "1080 x 1080" resolution and no reason to play at that ratio other than to cheat so you can see over things.
Wow, that is absolutely insane that it lets you get full vision of even short killers like Pig.
Anyone who refuses to acknowledge the benefits of stretched res is clearly biased/uses it themselves. The minor loss of horizontal vision doesn't matter on survivor and there's no reason to be staring straight downwards anyways. Absolutely crazy that this has been in the game for 4 years, not to mention the game was released in 2016 when this kind of thing was basically non-existent in other games.

Same, had someone do this and as soon as I left them they Unbreakabled. Seems like it may be easily reproducible if people are bringing Unbreakable/Soul Guard to do it.

Sure you don't have buy DLC, sure you can grind for 20 hours to get enough shards for ONE non-licensed character, sure you don't have to buy skins, sure you don't have buy into the DBD currency, sure you don't have to purchase the battle passes...do you see where I'm going with this?
Simply saying that a consumer doesn't have to do anything, doesn't solve the problem at hand. DBD mirrors a free to play mobile game more than ever before. Just look at the choices BHVR made in 2020: instead of having a proper Halloween event with its own currency, BHVR decided to sell us a battle pass. Instead of a double blood point event during the last week of December, they decided to give us daily login bonuses for the month of December. Which sounds nice on paper, until you realize that an entire week's worth of login bonuses can be gained by simply playing one Killer match.
And bear in mind, this is all attached to a game that you have to purchase money for. The Silent Hill dead by daylight edition alone is $50. Imagine spending that much money and then finding all of these free to play mechanics in a game you just purchased full price for.
If none of this puts you off then more power to you, but most of the DBD community doesn't feel that way.
20 hours of playtime is not even halfway to 9000 shards, accounting for queue times it takes about triple that, significantly longer if you like playing survivor.
-
How do any of the survivor perks have conditions?
They literally cover your mistakes up by just having them equipped. Iron Will, Unbreakable, Decisive, and Dead Hard all reward you for getting caught and hit by the killer.
-
Pretty sure this is intended, hooking animation is not cancellable AFAIK.
This is just bad luck that you got the 11 o'clock skillcheck. If it had been any earlier he would not have gotten the hook.
-
Or you could, you know, do half a generator in the time it takes to self-care through sloppy butcher.
-
What would be the point of the game.
You aren't outplaying anyone, you aren't winning against a real person, you're just grinding bloodpoints to spend on dumb purple diamonds.
-
In a game where every match is a 1v4 there is somehow a shortage of the 1 player team
Imagine how long queue times could get if bloodpoints didn't incentivize playing killer
-
Imagine someone running this with Iron Will and they just disappear from the universe when injured
No thanks
-
I've seen this happen with Huntress hatchets before but never an M1
-
No mobility = bad
His anti-loop is also much weaker than something like Pyramid Head or Freddy, who have strong secondary powers to help them out as well.
-
Is this like your job or something to pitch awful anti-consumer ideas for a game that already has microtransactions?

He didnt escape. The void is a subrealm where discarded killers and survivors go (i cant remember what officially said this, but i know its official). To escape the void would just put you back where you started most likely
Vigo and the Observer have their own pocket dimensions separate from the trial grounds and can choose not to participate.
We know less details about Vigo, but the Observer is currently able to control the fog and do pretty much anything he wants except escape to the real world.

Which can be used to buy characters, outfits, or bloodpoints. Devotion is pretty nifty as it is. Right now I’m banking shards for a new outfit.
Trust me, devotion is not nifty. Its like 5 additional shards per level or something like that.
-
Technically there is a bonus for devotion but its not much
For every devotion level you get an incredibly miniscule bonus to iridescent shard gains

I got a 20 escape streak just by bringing a key and shack hatch offering every game.
Might as well use them all before the nerf.

That's aim dressing giving a false positive. You would have missed that swing anyway without aim dressing.
A hit is a hit, a miss is a miss. Aim dressing doesn't turn a hit into a miss or vice versa, it happens AFTER the swing was registered as a hit or miss.
Objectively not true
Devs themselves have stated that hits which are predicted to connect may miss after being corrected by aim-dressing
