I've played 2 games and got 4k on both playing at rank 16. Games were on Yamoka and AutoHaven and I haven't had the chance to try no way out yet. M1 works against the lower skiled players and there lower ability to escape allows you to actually down with knives.
3 of the 8 players were more skilled than the rest, 2 of them kept zig zagging, 1 decided to crouch in circles around anything in the vicinity and both were effective, but it time, inevitable downs.
Seen a lot of hate for trickster and deservedly so, he needs recoil, movement and power reworks, BUT, people on here seem to have forgotten than not everyone is a red rank superstar and there is a place for the less skilled characters in the game at lower ranks.
Every killer is viable at low rank. At High MMR/High rank though, only nurse and spirit are.

Literally in the first game I play today I get face camped and after that I played 4 more games in 2 of them someone got fact camped and in a 3rd someone got hard tunneled the entire game. So out of 5 games only one was even remotely enjoyable because that killer actually patrolled gens and put pressure on all of us so we had to actually play smart. That game ended with 3 of us dying and one escaping. The other games were 3 of us escaping and 1 person dying with most of us never even seeing the killer or getting into a chase screwing our emblems because the killer wanted to hard tunnel and face camp one person. Something needs to be done about this.
I want to see your definition of camping or tunneling. Can you provide a video of what you see as camping or tunneling? And please include like, the whole match, so i can see the context around it.
I am convinced that, aside from literal face camping, survivors are complaining about killers camping when the best play in that given moment, is to camp.

Yes or no, please elaborate.
High MMR will only have nurse and spirit as they are the truly the only viable killers at high level play. Either this will kill the game, or save it.
If the devs ignore the data and don't finally fix this ######### game, then it will kill the game. All the survivors in high MMR will get tired of playing against the same 2 killers over and over again and will start to quit, then the killers will quit, then it will blow up and be bad publicity.
If the devs look at the data and use it to fix the game, then it will actually save this game.

NOED is actually not good though, its just cheap. Against high level players, all it does is guarantee a single kill, and even then maybe not.
BBQ is actually only used for bloodpoints, thrilling is a much better perk.
Ruin was already nerfed.

I have heard very specifically that they don't to change console achievements.
You have heard wrong then. It is possible to change achievements, but only if the achievement is no longer obtainable. What you were probably being told about was the huntress one that requires you to down a survivor with a hatchet from more than 24 meters away. It used to require you to get 100 downs, and they changed the steam one to be 20, but it took them a really long time to get one of the consoles (ps4 i think) to change the achievement because their policy is that you can't change an achievement unless it is no longer obtainable.
-
@StibbityStabbity said:
Just saying, there is an achievement for all 4 survivors escaping through hatch. Apparently that is set in stone, so changing keys to only allow limited escapes is a no-go.
This is incorrect. Achievements can be changed on any platform. Some consoles are a bit more strict, but if an achievement is no longer possible to obtain, you can change the achievement.

I'm excited as a solo survivor as well, they won't leave me to die. What will it be, "Only 1 key per survivor", guess I'll run Plunderers Instinct and Appraisal.
I'm just saying, these developers better use there heads or survivors and killers could be really mad, I mean if the nerf is small, killers will be mad, if the nerf is huge like mori's, then it'll make a bunch of SWF very mad.
The point : Better make the Key change good.
I post this alot, but keys ands moris are easy to fix IMO:
Keys:
- Only 1 survivor can escape from the hatch before it closes
- When the hatch closes, it can't open again (under any circumstances) for 60 seconds
- When a killer closes the hatch, the hatch "breaks" and will never open again.
- Using a key requires a 12 second animation. (think horror movies where the character fumbles with their car keys)
- Buff franklins so that the timer decreases if the item is on the ground. This prevents survivors from hiding a key somewhere once they know franklins is in play.
Moris:
- Make yellow mori in it's current state basekit (outside of rare circumstances with DS, you already lost, make it fun and let moris be seen a bit more often)
- Green mori allows 1 kill
- Ebony mori allows 2 kills, at the start of the trial, the generator furthest from the killer is automatically completed.
- Hooking a survivor grants a token, you can consume 3 tokens to mori a survivor.
- When a generator is completed, lose 1 token.

It's not even a fundamental right for Americans. There's no law that says a private platform or venue is obligated to allow you to use it however you wish.
It is a fundamental right. It is so fundamental that it isn't actually given by the government. Our Constitution just says government can't take it from us. Sure, companies can do what they want. The old Bloodweb back in 2016 used to be way worse:
Rarer Nodes tended to spawn on the outer circles of the Bloodweb and the cost was determined by the circle Nodes spawned on:
- Inner circle: 3,000 BPs
- Middle circle: 5,000 BPs
- Outer circle: 8,000 BPs
Here, I think I've found a picture:

You know, I never had the chance to play with the old Bloodweb. I first started playing DBD during the last Winter Solstice event (2018). I just enjoy learning about Dead by Daylight's old versions.
I know it is never going to happen, but I would love to play Dead by Daylight's old versions. Just to experience it for myself.
The old bloodweb also didn't have as many perks to deal with. It is probably just as bad now as then if not worse.

All I’m seeing lately from killers is face camping and hard tunneling along with them trying to hold the game hostage and anytime any survivor escapes they start sending messages to every survivor on the team telling them to kill themselves, that they suck, and that they are horrible human beings. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t want to play this game anymore since the killer mains can’t seem to act like anything but 12 year old children that think they deserve everything in the world. It’s even more depressing that this isn’t just happening at the los ranks but at red ranks too as I am a rank 1 survivor and still see this behavior from rank 1 killers constantly.
Let's break this down:
All I’m seeing lately from killers is face camping and hard tunneling
Don't hate the player. Hate the game. Don't be a scrub, educate yourself:
Introduction I am here to teach you to win. Playing to win is the most important and most widely misunderstood concept in all of competitive games. The sad irony is that those who do not already understand the implications I will spell out will probably not believe them to be true at all. In fact, trying to hold the game hostage
With the exception of body blocking survivors, which is extremely hard to do, this is not possible. My guess is you think a killer 3-genning is holding the game hostage.
anytime any survivor escapes they start sending messages to every survivor on the team telling them to kill themselves, that they suck, and that they are horrible human beings.
This is bad, but its not a "killer" thing. Mute and report the person and move on with life.

And what about every other case, which can be moderated?
Again, I don't buy into the "We can't solve every problem, so we might as well not solve any problem" thought process.
Because the problem already has a solution. People can mute, and they can disable chat. Now, instead you create more problems because you censor real words that people use. Hell you literally can't say "myers" right now in the in-game chat, and he is a character in the game. Then you have the problem of multiple languages. Something might be offensive in one language but not another. Offensive speech is also not subjective. Something one person might find offensive another one will not. The reality is, literally any idea that can be conveyed with words will offend some person on this planet somewhere.
On top of all that. Censorship is evil.

And you think bypassing the censor doesn't carry some form of punishment?
How could BHVR from an objective standpoint without doubt that someone calling someone a "claudette" is actually doing it as a racial slur? Sometimes people call people "meg heads" in the game as well as an insult. You can't moderate that. It's not possible.

That's the same logic as "laws don't work, because criminals don't care about laws". I don't buy into that.
That's not actually true, laws have punishments associated with them and they have hard definitions. There is a reason speech is a protected right in the U.S. Obviously things like, stealing, murder, assault etc. are all objectively wrong and we can have actual proof and evidence that is what happened.

I'd argue behaving as if everything is yours to do with as you see fit, regardless of what the owners want, is worse.
Censorship is evil, but as a better explanation of why these systems never work to begin with.
Here are 2 examples. One comes from league of legends. One common thing to prevent is people saying things like the "n-word". There are a lot of obvious reasons why they would want to ban that.
Now, what do you do when instead of calling people that word, people instead call other people "Lucian". You see, Lucian is a character in the game who also happens to be black. The reality there was, everyone KNEW what those players were saying, but they were saying the name of a character in the game.
Now let's bring it back to dbd. What will BHVR do if people start calling people "claudette" or "adam" instead of that word? Because i guarantee you people are going to do that kind of thing.
Another example. A popular acronym in some games is "K-Y-S" which people mean as "#########" so games started banning that phrase. Well now people will instead say "Keep Yourself Safe" a phrase which, by itself, sounds like something nice. But in reality, they are still saying "K-Y-S"
You can't censor speech because the people you are trying to censor will get around it by saying different things that have the same meaning. All it ends up doing is becoming this cycle where you censor words that start to negatively affect regular users. This is why the actual word choice doesn't matter, and what matters is intent. It is also why i don't believe censoring what people say is any good. Give people instead the options to, mute someone. disable chat entirely, being able to avoid playing with certain people, etc. Because you can't actually moderate effectively, when the people you are trying to moderate can just think of clever ways to get around it.
EDIT: While posting this, i actually had to change the K-Y-S because it is censored. But the phrase "Keep Yourself Safe" was not. See what i mean?

NOED is effective mostly against newbies who don't know their hex from the dulls and solo players who don't know how many totems are left. The game barely brings up totems outside of one (1) loading screen hint that you might see, but that's not guaranteed. NOED is fine in a vacuum, but in the context of newer players who don't grasp its workings, it can feel unnecessarily punishing.
And stop calling it genrush. Gens are literally the primary objective for Survivors. Unless there's something else obstructing that, most players are going to work on them. NOED is a cleanup perk for the Killer to get at least one more kill (or just one) in the endgame.
I'll stop calling it genrush when survivors stop calling it "camping" and "tunneling". Killing survivors is literally the primary objective for killers. Unless there's something else obstructing that, most players are going to work on them.

@NuclearBurrito said:
Why is he slower in his throw mode? I understand him slowing down if he flurries, but why the initial slowdown? Doctor is slower when shocking, sure, but at least he's only slower when shocking people, let alone that his shocking interrupts people.
Basically, in order for a windup to be meaningful you need to have a reason not to always have the ability wound up.
The thing about this Killer is that the singular knives are kinda nothing. The flurry is his power, the only reason to even bring up singular knives is for clarification purposes and QoL.
The Clown's power, and also Freddy's power, both were determined to not need a meaningful windup in order to be balanced, since they are non-damaging slows. This is especially since such a windup negates the entire function of a slow in the first place. As such Freddy and Clown are both expected to have their power readied at all times and can be balanced around that.
They made this mistake with the Plague who's power injures a target and quickly learned their lesson. The trickster has a lethal power, so some caution with this sort of thing is justified.
Why is there such a long time between switching knives and main weapon?
Deathslinger is at least 10 times quicker and he can deal damage, so why such a long time between something that doesnt even deal damage? Let alone that Deathslinger gives deep wounds.
Deathslinger's dexterity is his entire gimmick. That is the only reason why he's ever played over Huntress. Do not compare deathslinger to the trickster.
Here's the thing about the trickster. When evaluating him, first look at the big picture. Why would you want to play a Killer with this concept over the Huntress (huntress being a baseline ranged killer)? Don't worry about the numbers, balance and design are two different concepts and you should not mix the two up.
The trickster has 2 unique advantages:
- Main event occasionally negating the mobility disadvantage of attack windups
- He doesn't need to redo his windup after an attack
You know what this makes him good at? It's not the 1v1 but rather he's better at AOE. His addons heavily support this too.
You're trying to buff up his 1v1, but that road leads to yet another Huntress. He's more comparable to the Plague than the Huntress in terms of niche. The primary difference compared to the plague being his unconditional ranged downing potential.
He has his problems obviously, him being weak is not in question, but you're trying to remove his weaknesses when it's better to exaggerate strengths.
Except for the accuracy thing. Idk why that's there either, flurry or otherwise.
But anyways, things like letting him hold his main event once it's built up, increasing his attack speed across the board ect would make him better at utilizing his unique traits rather than just making him a weaker version of an existing character like deathslinger.
You could argue he is better at AoE, sure. But his damage decays making it so he isn't good at AoE.
-
@Almo said:
It's a playbalance consideration. If you could turn it off or even down, it would be an advantage over people who didn't since it would not muffle the sounds of the Survivors.
Disabling it would also give you a disadvantage because you wouldn't be able to easily hear that you entered a chase which sometimes randomly happens in corn and other places.
Changing to low graphics makes it easier to see traps and other things, that gives an advantage too.
Having something play music so loud that you can't hear anything else being a balance consideration is a pretty terrible one. Make it so survivor sounds are muffled in a chase then instead so people can do what they want.

I think it's fine to make it on by default but allow someone to toggled it off. We already have an option to disable chat if you want and that is on by default. If someone is being toxic just don't engage. At the end though you can just leave the room. It's after the game is over. Not during so if you can't handle it. Then just leave or turn it off.

So wait im confused... he moves slower while uncloaking but the lunge is the same? Because the lunge always scaled based on how fast he moved while cloaked.
While uncloaking you are slower. Basically, they took the windstorm addon and made it basekit and then adjusted the windstorm addons, because that is what that addon did. The addon made you move faster while cloaked, by while uncloaking your movement was slowed. You still gained the movement speed buff after you uncloaked. If the lunge range is actually reduced, it is probably a bug or an undocumented change.

I personally don't have an opinion on him yet as I have yet to try him for myself. That being said, I can't help but draw conclusions between Him and Plague on release - and can't help but speculate he may need to get 115 speed to be competitive
Its not mindless sheep though. If a content creator who plays this game for a job says something, i'm more inclined to believe them just as i am more inclined to believe a doctor when they say i'm sick.

Except every content creator has said he is trash, its not just one. And me having 1.5k hours can tell just by reading the kit, he is trash. After playing a few dozen games with him, it is still clear, he is trash.
There is no reason to play him over plague, or huntress, or deathslinger who can get downs much faster with their power. The reason huntress and deathslinger work is that you cant just tightly hug a loop to completely counter them, they only require one hit to get an injure or down with their power. Trickster requires 8 and on top of that, if he doesn't hit you after a few seconds, you lose the damage you gain on them. 110% movement on a killer that requires 8 hits is not a good idea.

Please.
I'd just change it so there is always an obsession, and do something a bit more with the mechanic that doesn't require perks to do things. Still have perks of course that do things with obsession. But make there be some kind of baseline interaction between the obsession and the killer.

So I just played my first match as trickster and even though it’s still early to judge He needs a lot of work to be better. Here’s what I would do to trickster
- Reduce the amount of blades it takes to injure or down a survivor from 8 to 6 so it takes 6 blades to injure someone
- change the laceration so when you throw a blade at someone there laceration will stay like that the whole game until they get injured by a attack or gets hit by 5 more blades. Make it so laceration doesn’t go down like how ghostfaces stalk works
- for main event don’t put it on a time limit to activate just make it so when main event is ready make it like Oni so when it’s filled up you press the button and activate like Oni. That’s all I have for now I will keep playing to see what I can find
I disagree, i think they should do something that actually makes him unique.
- Make his movement speed 120% or maybe even 125%
- Keep knives as is, make them slow his movement speed down to 110% while throwing.
- Make it so basic attacks apply 2 stacks of laceration (yes 4 m1s to down)

Against good survivors, it works once to catch them offguard, but after that it doesn't work anymore.

I don’t main these killers, haven’t tried Spirit and only tried Nurse once. I’m on PS4 and quite frankly playing as her made me sick and I couldn’t grasp her power at all, but that’s besides the point.
With the amount of survivor and youtubers complaining about always facing off against Spirit and Nurse in red ranks and such it’s almost a guarantee these two will get nerfed, and hard. I honestly don’t think either should be touched and I hate facing off against them as survivor myself. They are the only two killers that have a chance in red rank against SWF teams. If they are nerfed in any way I believe even more killer players will leave the game, cause you took their only way to face off against highly capable survivors. I mean who else they gonna use against these kind of players? Clown? Lol. Legion? Myers? No. If/when these two killers are nerfed it’s going to damage the game badly and the player base will suffer.
I doubt it TBH.
When MMR launches, and they look at their "beautiful" data, they will see that at the highest MMRs, that only spirit and nurse are viable and that no other killer stands a chance. They will look at that data and see the problems this game has and start fixing it. Then we will likely see a nerf to nurse and spirit.

---Spasmodic Breath
The twitchy and tremulous breath stolen from the "Bad Man". Aggressively pulses and jumps at The Nurse's touch.
- Temporarily disables Spencer's Last Breath and increases The Nurse's base Movement speed to 4.6 m/s after hitting a Survivor with a successful post-Blink Attack.
- This effect lasts for 60 seconds.
Would be cool if it increased her movement speed to like 4.8 m/s or merge it with the undetectable addon so you are undetectable the whole 60 seconds. The problem is the main point of her is that she ignores looping and pallets, but this makes her a standard killer for 60 seconds which means pallets and looping are good on her for not really much of a benefit.

It’s about time the devs do something about these absurdly unfun and toxic strategies. I played 6 games today so far and in every single one I have gotten face camped on first hook until I die except for one game where I got I hooked while being face camped and the killer proceeded to non stop tunnel me even when I stunned him 3 times during the chase. The even more frustrating part is in 3 of those games before I got face camped I was able to get 3 gens done and loop the killer for quite a bit but still de pipped because the killer decided to face camp me and apparently doing 3 gens and stalling the killer isn’t considered playing well by the devs. I really don’t understand why the devs have allowed this kind of behavior to continue for so long when it is the most complained about thing in the entire game. Something needs to be done or more people are going to quit playing the game.
Hard tunneling and camping is the only way a killer can actually win at the highest level a play. Tournaments prove this. Fix all of these things and the game becomes far better.

Or even give solo queue proximity chat that the killer can hear if your talking.
This would not only make it more realistic (also the killer can talk back to you XD), but also make sharing information a risk. But yeah, your idea ain't bad.
This is actually bad because SWF just use discord so they would get the benefit of the communication without the downside.

That’s a fundamental misunderstanding of how the system works. The flow of data goes like this.
You->Server
Server->Other Player
Other Player->Server
Server->You
This also doesn’t count wireless connections it’s assuming you are wired.
When you lag the other players actions are not replicated onto your client. This means the typical instances of lag appear such as choppy movement, indicators at the top of your screen, and hits not connecting (only if your connection exceeds the parameter they setup for hit validation.). Because there is this disconnect now between the killer not being the host and survivors via the dedicated servers it’s difficult to ascertain if they are lagging or you are. The server will do movement interpolation when they lag which basically on the loss/laggy connection will assume the last input registered is still being registered until they get fresh info from the client. This can be observed when a survivor runs into a wall not moving at all. That’s interpolation taking the last input from the survivor and waiting for a refresh. The point of this example is that lag is hard to discern if it is the other player or you who is not receiving up to date information to allow you a clean valid hit.
I'm a software engineer. I don't need someone to poorly explain this because you are quite wrong.

Most people do not have fun playing against SWF, mainly because SWF have a significant advantage over killers than any other survivors because they have communication on their side. Even when I play with my friends & we try to sandbag each other, we are still getting massive information from what the other says about the killer. So, I want to suggest a buff to the killer side that would help negate the sharing of information these survivors have.
What I want is a small buff to the killer side when survivors decide to team up, like some sort of extra offering. The buff shouldn't be overwhelming, just something to counter the amount of information being shared.
If a SWF is a group of 2: the killer gains a 4% Haste effect & a 2% movement speed boost
If a SWF is a group of 3: the killer gains a 8% Haste effect & a 4% movement speed boost
If a SWF is a group of 4: the killer gains a 12% Haste effect & a 6% movement speed boost
I'm suggesting haste & a smaller movement speed buff as the killer's buff because being able to recover from attacks & breaking things can add up, giving the killer just enough to continue being a threat.
Now, I'm not saying that my numbers are the end all, be all solution (I'm not a developer & wouldn't know the ramifications of making small changes like this to the overall balance); I just want a buff in place to make things fair & that doesn't break the game. I also believe that the killer should have the option to disable this buff on their lobby screen, in case they want a more difficult challenge (there are killers out there that can handle good SWF groups & may enjoy the challenge).
I've seen other posts regarding buffing the killer, but I think they may be too overpowered. I want something that seems insignificant if the SWF is a group of 2, somewhat noticeable for a group of 3, & makes the killer FEEL different for a group of 4.
No, they should not nerf SWF. The way you fix this is by making it so that solos have a way to communicate. I personally like the idea of a conditional ping type system. Give solo survivors more information and ways to communicate. Then you buff killers to compensate for that new information.
You need to bridge the gap of SWF and solo by buffing solos and killers, not by nerfing SWF.
