Knockout already requires basic attacks. I made that post before they announced the changes, but the new Knockout is a straight buff. That means this addon is a worse version of current Knockout, which is a worse version of the new Knockout.

Does it? It sure doesnt say so. And they usually do. It just says dying survivors. And plenty of people claim otherwise. In any case I just cant see what the problem is. You can run addons that while weaker than the perks. Gives you a similar ability while not being equal in power to a perk. Gives you the option to run a, as an example, infectious fright build, with nemesis, pwyf, and pop/bbq or whatever feels good for you. It gives you options without giving the killer 5 perks. I really dont see the issue I actually really the idea behind this.

I have said in a different thread that I have been very dissapointed by the last few killer releases, in regards to their addons(Deathslinger and Pyramid Head specifically). Because all of the addons are just boring buffs. The iri addons being slightly different but nothing too out there. Compare that to meyers, hag, nurse even freddy and now billy/bubba addons. Buffs for the most basic addons sure. And then some purples and hopefully iridescent addons can present entirely new playstyles. I love that #########. So that every game on a killer isnt almost 100% the same no matter what.

  • @BubbaMain64 said:

I just don't see how come we nerf the most balanced killer in the game, yet let the strongest and most brain-dead ones still thrive? Spirit has no legitimate counter other than hope that they're bad and Freddy can just spam snares to ensure a kill regardlessly. Pair that with the broken swing animation so you can't accurately judge the distance between you two. Why? These are the ones in need of a legitimate nerf but nope I guess we should just nerf Billy. Lets nerf Legion one more time while we're at it too. Maybe Pig also.

The reason they are going for Billy and not spirit and freddy, is the same reason they are going for Bubba and not Legion or Pig. Because both of those chain saw boys have outdated add-ons. Its got nothing to do with them being the weakest or strongest, its just outdated add-ons. As in no iridescent and only 2 purple and what not. They have talked about updating them for a while. And since add-ons are heavily connected to powers (being what they have an effect on) they tinkered with the powers as well.

Now why the specific change I couldnt tell you. But my best guess would be to have more specific things for the addons to have an effect on. Instead of just sprinting, charging, punishment and what not. Its simpler to have more details with your power. So give Bubba some charges to give him som control over his own power and the time spent on it. And give Billy an overheat function to reduce the amount people can spam the ability without actually using it. Then add some add-ons that mitigate this overheating and add some add-ons that increase the charges or time added per charge.

You can argue whether he needed the nerf, I personally think its a small nerf to most Billy players and since we have no idea what the remaining addons is or what the finished product is gonna look like, I think people should relax. But saying that spirit and freddy should have had priority when this change have been underway for a long long time is not really fair. Plus you have no idea what else is in the mid-way chapter.

Im not saying they add something massiv. But they snuck in a small buff for clown that made him feel a bit better to play. They could add a small nerf to freddy so he cant spam his ability as much or to spirit so her using her ability is easier to recognize.

I dont think they will add that. But my point is we dont know anything beyond what the general idea is for their base kit. People need to calm down a bit.

My question is what if with new franklin's the item is about to disappear but they pick it up and then u smack them again. Does the timer start from 0 to 90 again or will it disappear from the previous timer

From the way its worded I believe it starts over again. Like "Devoured by the entity after 90 seconds if not picked up". Makes me believe it resets. But yeah Billy mains crying, and then we have streamers like Zubat saying stuff like "Dont understand why they nerfed his basekit, and I dont know how I feel about it. But its not a big deal, if you ever played billy with no addons you probably wont tell the difference. Just happy to see insta-saw go away" Implying he is at least convinced it wont be a big hit to Billy, and that he believes that the add-on rework will kill insta-saw Billy. Which I mean if they dont do that I have no idea what they are doing.

Incase people dont know. Zubat plays A LOT of Billy.

I think changes might be coming, but I don't know. I've just been wondering if the devs are testing out new mori mechanics that are built into pyramid head. Say you equip a mori, and the mori basically gives you the ability to do what pyramid head does. Yellow let's you kill them one third hook action; green lets you kill them after second hook action; pink lets you kill them after first hook. Or something like that.

As a side note, all killers should condemn the use of the survivor rule book. Use items/addons/perks to their fullest extent that you're allowed to, even if survivors don't like it.

Let me see if I get this right. First hook being before they even get hooked. Right?

If thats the case I hope the mori can only be used on one survivor otherwise whats the difference between that and someone just dcing straight away. I dont play survivor a lot but I do have games where people kill themselves on hook or just dc after first down. And the game is basically over after that.

I used to say "Moris should only work on death hook, and to work more like a fun mechanic rather than a gamechanging one". But ever since PH came out that has changed drastically. Because now that we have a killer that basically does this. Then why would I ever use his mori offerings? What would be the point? Its not that much more fun or an improvement over his own ability so why would I ever use a mori on PH.

A lot of people have come up with ideas, my personal favorit have been the, moris should work sort of like keys. As in, the more the opposite side does their object the more powerful/the sooner you can use your item/offering.

The fewer survivors are alive, the fewer gens do you need to complete before you can open hatch and escape.

The fewer gens are left the fewer hooks do you need to do before you can mori people.'

Either that or just dont make you able to mori an entire team with one offering. Ofc this being said. When they nerf moris, they have to nerf keys as well. I speak for a lot of killers when I say that we almost never use a mori unless we see a key in the hands of a survivor. Or its just a daily/challenge.

The few changes I have heard I sort of agree with about keys are something like. Only make it possible for one person to escape the game via hatch. Giving the key a charge time would be ok, but it wouldnt fix the problem of 3 survivors using 1 key to escape. So many games where that has happened. Oh and unless killers have like an inbuilt yellow mori or something, a key should never be able to be found in chests without perks. Just like killers cant mori people without perks.

In general just tone the at the moment giant shift in the game that these items/offerings can bring to a game, a bit down. It shouldnt be possible for every survivor to escape with the use of one key(and personally I dont think more than one should be able to be used). And it shouldnt be possible for a killer to mori an entire team before a single gen is done.

The fact that being sent to a cage counts as a first hook needs to change.

If you can't use Ds, kindred, bt, with the cage then it shouldn't count as a hook.

If you get hooked after the cage, that should be your first hook otherwise pyramid head literally makes several perks completely useless. Deliverance, bt, Ds, kindred, camraderie, etc. Why even have these perks in the game for us if we can't use them at all against one killer. That makes no sense how unbalanced that is and there's no counterplay.

Also, stepping in his spikes on the ground should have a timer to wear off. It's unfair to step in it at the beginning of the match only to not be caught or downed till the end and then sent to the cage for the first time.

Hello yes, have you heard of having BT. Thats useless vs Freddy. How about having Dead hard? Thats useless against all killers with one shot abilities. How about inner strength/self care and healing in general? Thats useless against plague and often a waste of time vs Legion. There have always been killers that counter/make some perks less useful. Unless certain conditions are met.

Sure you can just not heal to have dead hard available. But then the killer can just M1 you while baiting out Dead hard.

Sure you can just wake up before unhooking people, but then you spend time doing that.

And yes you can just cleanse vs plague. But unless thats late game you are asking for trouble.

And vs Pyramid head? Unlike the other killers they dont actually get much of drawback from their powers being circumvented. Whereas with PH, the arguably 2 most popular killer perks (BBQ and Pop) doesnt work either. And survivors can just not run into the trails, and he cant send you to a cage. Yes sometimes that means you will go down, instead of looping a bit longer, and sometimes its easier said than done to avoid those. But those are the trade offs. Its not meant to be easy.

It's actually a much worse Knockout. This addon won't work on anyone if anyone is in your terror radius when you get the down. Knockout affects everyone outside 16m regardless, doesn't have a time limit and doesn't require using your chainsaw for the down.

Actually the new knock out requires you to use M1. Ability downs dont count anymore. But the downed survivor is gonna crawl slower and be blinded making it harder for him to locate survivors or if he is in swf group tell the others where he is.

Personally I dont think they needed to nerf the any part of knockout since no one was using it. But hey its a change to never used perk. It might help it might not. And we wont know how these will pan out till after the ptb is done. They have changed things before the changes went live. So calm down everyon till first of all we see all the addons. And second of all till we get to try Bubba and Billy. Honestly the charges mechanic to bubba sounds like what players like Otzdarva has call for. Something to end his ability early, to not waste more time than necessary and to give control over your ability back to the player.

Ofc I am an "outsider" here of sorts. Since I am excited for almost any changes, good or bad. Anything to mix it up a bit or to give life to unused, old or dead things.

See thats the thing though this guy I went up against literally knoes how to fast vault so close to the window and he just taught me so much today but this guy is IMPOSSIBLE to beat without a killer who can negate loops like it sounds to good to be true but for example at shack if you go in he vaults if you don't he fakes and if you fake he will instantly vault and he can read so well and I also know not everyone is this good he is the best survivor ive gone against but it still shows how powerful survs are because even if I was a really good killer I was playing m1 billy to work on chases without ability but it made me realize that if you have any skill on loops and you chain them and drop pallets to get their bloodlust away or take a hit to more pallets you either bloodlust a pallet that becomes a 50 50 because you may or may not fall for a vault bait or you get random collision or you break a pallet and waste more time on other loops like wth if you take me to bloodlodge and I have good jungle gyms ok but if you get all the filler pallets... Thats game over

Yeah the game is "balanced"(hehe) around that some survivors might be that good, but hopefully not all you meet are. If its only, lets say 2 of the survivors that can loop you until bloodlust 2+ activates. Then I almost think thats ok. The one thing I really need to learn to do (getting better at it) is to leave a survivor. If I cant get a single hit on a survivor within like 30-40 seconds. Then I need to just drop him in most cases and go look for someone worse. If it turns out they are all like that. Very rare. But it happens since I am still not that experienced. Got like 700 hours but like 100 of those are in the menu/queue (at least :P) and like 150 are as survivor. And only in the last like 10-20% of play time have I been playing red ranks.

We all know rank means dick. But at red ranks you at least have a higher chance of meeting the "God-survivors". Its all about learning the best counter play possible. Which sometimes is just saying. Nope not this guy. And other times is, "Well ######### they are all insane. Time to just down one and camp him, since there is only 1 gen left when I do get him". Is it fair? No but that happens in almost all multiplayer games, even games like League or CS:GO where you would think rank matters. Sometimes the enemy team is just that much better than you despite being similar ranks. Maybe communication maybe just the play style. Who knows. But sometimes you just lose hard.

And I know that those are 2 different type of games. Them being 2 teams vs each other and this being asymmetrical. But I still think its comparable. Unless it happens more often than not, then I still think its ok. To the killers and survivors having a hard time, well mostly killers. There are some good videos by scott jund/Ohtofu on how to run tiles. And just watching them, otz or someone maining who you like to play can help a ton.

  • Hey man if thats what does it for you, then I hope they introduce more of those skins. I have it pretty good right now since I ######### love the half shaved punk hairdo. So many survivors to chose from :D

I don't know why you think this is a good thing. the only thing that will come of it will be instasaw backrev billy. hf with that boosted kid.

You do know they are reworking all his addons as well? So ofc they are gonna get rid of that lol. If they didnt well I guess gg behaviour you played us all. Both killers and survivors.

  • 100% true, at least in this game. I have judged people before hand as a survivor and a killer when I saw the survivors name looked russian. But got my ass saved by them as a survivor or gotten a gg at the end as a killer. While as a survivor I just dont pay attention to the killers name and country if they played "fairly" (lets ignore the survivor rule book for this) as in didnt play annoyingly. I just dont care. I just give a gg and thx for the game. Gl in your next one. No matter the result. Its usually only out of curiousity after getting camped/tunneled that I look up peoples steam pages to see if its filled with comments or private. And in doing so I see they are russian. As I started by saying

"You usually only notice the bad ones".

  • Many people comparing this nerf to the nurse rework. Apparently people are forgetting how insanely op nurse was. Not just with addons but even just basic nurse was pretty goddamn strong. Did they go overboard with her? Yeah honestly I think they made her too difficult to play while at the same time the few people that can play her now. Well they still slaughter everyone.

But hey this is coming from a mediocre survivor and decent killer player. Sure rank 1 at both. But we all know that doesnt mean anything. I personally hated going against a Billy more than going against a nurse or spirit. Because vs a spirit or nurse you could make mistakes and still have a chance. If you make a mistake vs Billy. You are just dead.

Just my oppinion. But I think we should all wait a see. Streamers like Zubat that play a lot of Billy are basically saying that same.

Can't blame a fix for your chases and I also know that some chases just cant be won like a bunch of filler pallets, but if someone has good paying and good looping skills and you keep failing to get them you have to let them live. It sucks but I just 1v1 the best survivor I've ever gone against and he has lots of hours but he loops optimally and he always changes his gameplay style he is the type of guy you cant beat without losing the game unless deadzoned or playing a killer who negates loops and Tbh this gane is really unfair in that case. But still just because now the hits will be fixed means nothing if you are not good enough to get a down or rng is too survivor sided go for the weaker ones

Yeah all you can do is, hope his allies arent that good. If he is the best survivor just let him live. Kill his allies and 1 hook him. Not a fun way to die for him but hey what other choice do you have. This is ofc not all maps that this is that bad, but if you are on a bad map (lets say ormond) with 4 people that can all loop like maniacs. Too bad. Unless you are playing one of the trifecta(Nurse, spirit, freddy), you have just been dealt a game over.

  • A good old quote from one of my friends back in my WoW days:

"If I have to stare at someone for hours of gameplay, I prefer to stare at someone I find attractive."

But as some have said it could be from gameplay advantage or just preference.

It's a depressing time for everyone with the virus outbreak. So I came back to play DBD after a 6 month break, to play the new exciting chapter of Silent Hill, to lookover the balance changes to the game which showed promise and to get my mind off these stressful times. Unfortunately DBD is stil unbalanced and stressful to peoples health for those who play killer, it feels like this game makes people more angry and depresssed then ever. It's brought upon from killer players who have been begging for years for changes to the meta of the game so its more balance. With each new update the changes to survivors to make them more balance never happens, only small changes are made which make no difference e.g the small slow down to cooperative gen progression. In the next update these going to be a nerf change to billy which they didn't disccuss in the 4 year anniversary community video. Why out of all the changes would you nerf Billy? He wasn't that strong. Where is the clown rework? Killer players or who play both sides like myself have been begging for changes to the massive maps? What about the keys? The hatch? Gen speed? Survivor friends? or the over used meta perks survivors use like decisive strike, I'm pretty sure it's used more then the old ruin ever did, I use it myself, its boring for everyone and a game changer. Yes there is also problems with killers eg. tunneling and moris but survivor strengths out way the killer ones by far, thats why when the Devs nerf killers the community is divided more when it shouldn't. This games player base is on a knife edge, to all killer players if you want change for the game like I did please stop playing the game for the change and for your health. Its the only way to push the point across. Playing as the killer for me has been too stressful and its made me feel depressed, the biggest factor is the toxic survivor friend bully teams. Not every surivivor is like this but I large majority of them make life miserable for killers which I guess makes them feel good about themselves. With this being a daily occurance for me it has resulted in me feeling anxious about myself and I bet I'm not the only one who feels the same way. So after playing so many stressful killer games as freddy today, being provoked, bullied, attacked, limited in my ability, I decdied to quit for good because of how much this game has impacted my mental and physical health. I play all killers in red ranks and survivors so I understand them all, I Played over 1,000 hours and enough is enough. I know for a fact I am not the only one who feels this way, with looking over the forums and youtubers like Tru3, Space Coconut, Bricky and many others have express this same concern for years with hardly any big changes. I'll link a video in the description below of a video that Bricky made 2 years ago about how broken the meta is in DBD and its still relevant today. I love this game I want it to be fair for both sides, this game can be fun, in addiction It's amazing to me how the devs have gotten so many license characters which I love in movies and other media but Im sorry Devs I just can't take the pressure anymore and no one should. It's disappointing because most of the issues can be easily changed but it takes years for something real to happen. So goodbye Dead by daylight it's sad but I just can't take it anymore, don't let this game affect your health like it did for me. Stay safe everyone!!!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Axy2RP_Xvd0

Honestly I think I have gotten damaged from playing league of legends, since in that game I got death threats and people wishing my family would die from all sorts of illness and accidents. So at this point I just kind of enjoy people trying to be dickheads in chat, I keep every single negative thing said to me on my steam page. I just find it funny at this point, that people go "camper" "tunneler" because they think its impossible for them to die any other way than the killer to have "cheated".

Honestly i'm done with a game not when it becomes, annoying or unbalanced or anything like that. Im done with a game when Im not having fun. And I stopped playing league for the same reason.

But as many other have said. If you are having mental issues or feeling stressed out. Then multiplayer games is the wrong avenue for you my friend, since players will always try to do things they find fun no matter how it makes others feel. There is amazingly cool games out there with little to no enemies or other players. I'd recommend playing some of those. Exploration games especially are good for a relaxing experience.

Ofc I get some british, polish, german, french, etc here and there. But it seems like russians are just 85-90% of the time dickheads.

hahaha, you can't be serious. How are you gonna come at me when you can't even do basic 1st grade math? 1 minute and 20 sec per gen and 5 gens = 3 minutes? Please, if you're gonna argue then at least have an iq of 30.

Guessing you are either trolling or incapable of reading. Since I mentioned 3 survivors. Now you do 3 gens in 1 min 20 seconds. And you only have 2 left, with 3 survivors still. Guess how long that takes? Still only 1 min 20 sec. So 1min 20 sec + 1 min 20 sec = 2min 40sec. Plus the 20 seconds it takes to open the exit gates. Guess what that makes? Can you guess it? Don't worry you dont have to guess. Maths exist. 3 minutes.

i think the killer playerbase would plummet if they fixed latency tbh

Depends highly on how its done. If it is done where a killer with normal latency misses an attack that obviously should have hit on his screen but because the survivor has a ######### connection to the server its misses on his. Then yeah I think the killer player base would vanish over night. If however it only affects killers with ######### connection to the server then I cant really see it being that big of a deal. With that being said I have hit attacks even on my screen where I went "Hmm I dont think I should have hit that" and I only play matches with a green connection, with my meager 100/100 internet.

    @Peanits said:

Windows aren't meant to make you immune to any damage. They are a hole in the wall, after all, not a magic portal that blocks attacks. If you are within range of an attack, it is totally normal to get hit through it.

That said though, if you're getting hit significantly after vaulting, that is usually down to latency. Server side hit validation is on the way, and it should help with that. Basically the servers checks where everyone was when the killer says, "I hit that guy". If it turns out the killer was actually too far away to hit them, it cancels that hit. In short, if someone has a bad connection, the game stops trusting what they see.

However I do find it hilarious how many people are attacking Peanits for not properly reading what the OP was writing. While they themselves ignored what he wrote. That if its was in regards to after the animation then thats because of latency and that they are working on reducing this effect. I know its not gonna be perfect but I think people have forgotten how bad ptp servers used to be. And im not saying you should be happy with what you got but at least admit that it has been worse and accept that they are working on it. It does get tiresome to read the same things over and over again about things that either have been communicated that they are working on it (not that long ago either) or that they have already said isn't a punishable offence. Like camping and tunneling.

Long term bugs and a feeling of lack of communication on other things fine. But at least try to find out some information before you just start complaining that nothing is getting done.

  • Would be neat to be able to mouse over each category to see what you got most of your points from within each of them as well. Kind of like you can do with the emblems. It would certainly be a nice thing to have.

Do gens and leave you say? More like do gens and get hit by NOED as it is an extremely balanced perk and clearly doesn't reward killers for camping and not defending generators

All I can say is git gut son. In all seriousness I dont meet noed that often because I usually try to get all totems before I leave or just get out as soon as the gates are powered which is very easy to do if the killer camps. It takes 2 minutes to camp someone to death, and it takes 1 minute 20 seconds per gen for a solo survivor and you have three survivors, and it takes 20 seconds to open the exit gates. So it would take about 3 minutes to do all 5 gens and open the gate. Ofc this is without considering the time to travel between each gen and the gates and how long it takes for people to realise that the killer is camping so lets say 4-5 minutes. But at the same time. If it takes less than 2 minutes from the games start for the first person to get downed, then I think your survivor team has bigger problems than camping killers. What I am saying is, yes you are working against the clock. But at worst only 2 people should die. Its 90% of the time altruistic survivors that do this to themselves. They prefer to try to let the guy on the hook escape which usually gives the killer more hooks and rewards the killer for playing like that. Its stupid, its the killer playing on your emotion possibly without intending to, but its something that never works unless the survivors let it.

  • Personally I would say that you are just using "op" addons. Althought I dont think I would consider them op. They are basically just giving the killer a lot more power than any other single addon could ever give to him. But essentially no they dont make you toxic. They do probably give you a wrong impression of how strong the doctor actually is tho. I think the only addon most people consider toxic is iri hatches for huntress, which tbf if the killer is good is hella unfun to play against.

If you are actually worried about being toxic then only play with perks that you think would be fun to play against as well. Like personally I could argue that iri hatches are fun.....if the killer player is terrible. Makes the game more interesting at least.

But as most people say here, play how you like to play. But a rule of thumb is that using iridescent addons for killers/items or moris and keys will usually get you some ######### for using them. Either ignore people( or at least be prepared for using them :P) or play without them. There will always be people who #########. But few people are actually worth listening to if the first words they say are "Toxic killer/survivor build"

  • Funnily enough the first few days where I was just trying to play killer normally I got ######### stomped by sweaty survivors in every game. I hadnt met survivors that played this well more than once or twice in the week leading up to. But the second the event began, getting stomped by survivors was all that was on the menu.

And personally when I play survivor, I get more annoyed/angry if the killer doesnt play "normally" as in. If the killer tries to farm or let everyone go or something like that. Besides Chest Defender Bubba since he is a meme. And I know others feel similar to me in this regard. So personally if the killers are trying to kill, then they are playing normally. Sure moris, tunneling, camping is annoying and I guess could be considered toxic sometimes. But its still playing normally. Farming isnt playing normally, its boring, the only time I do it and dont mind it is if 2 survivors just instantly suicide/afk before a single gen is done. It doesnt make it exciting but at least we both get something out of the match.

Letting people go, is something that is up to each killer whether they want to or not. I dont do it too often. But I have done it more this event than usually. If its been a good match I usually let one go, especially if the last one I got "glows" with crown sparkles, so they can get their cosmetic. But if people have been very annoying to play against or if its just in general been a painful experience I just want people to die.

So essentially, just like killers arent entitled to a fun match and kills, as in survivors arent forced to play in a way that the killer finds fun. Survivors arent entitled to a fun game either and if the killer dominates its up to him to decide if he would let people go.

  • Personally as a killer, I saw a change suggestion a while back that I kind of liked. It is by no means perfect but it would be an improvement. Ofc if they ever did this change to moris I would still want keys to be nerfed, either to only allow one person to escape before closing or or to have a channel time so players at least cant just insta open in a chase.

Essentially it would be to make yellow moris part of every killers kit or something to that effect and make ebony mori work like green mori now. So that yes you can remove 1 player fast, but you cant remove every player in the game after 1 hook. A different change was that the moris just only worked based on how far into the game you were. As in, how many gens were done. 5 gens left? no mori. 4 gens left, maybe 1 mori. 2 gens left. 2 mori. 1-0 the remaining moris. At least then part of the game would still be going on without moris killing everyone. Sure survivors could potentially 99% gens. But that would be difficult and a return to an old meta.

People are saying keys and moris arent the same. They are tho. Because this isn't a 1v1, its a 1v4. So the key should be a bit weaker than the mori. But to the killer its as painful to deal with. Because everyone can pick it up or bring one. So if only 2 gens get done, 1 survivor har the possibility of an escape, even if the killer closes the hatch. 3 gens 2 survivors and so on. You only have to complete 40% of your objective to escape the match as a solo player if the entire team gets killed. Where as the killer still has to have 2 downs instead of 3 downs, to mori. Ofc he skips desicive strike and a lot of potential time on the second hook. But honestly I think if people suspect a mori they should run as far away from the map area that the killer was in. And if they see that he does have a mori, then let survivors stay on hooks through more than one phase since they will die from one more down anyway. Is it fun? Ofc not. But neither are keys.

Killer games can be or rather usually are stressfull since its all on you instead of your team. But thats ok for me at least, because I usually like that feeling. But the game becomes so much more stressful with a key and you almost get "nam flashbacks" when you see one, to all the times survivors have escaped thanks to keys when most of them should have died. I can remember so many times when 3 survivors who were all on death hook just jump into a hatch because someone brought a key or was lucky and found one.

So to minimize the stress, I bring a green mori (ebony mori if I see that they are swf) just to remove the threat as fast as possible. And then play the game normally.

It can be boiled down to. Bring key, expect mori. And unless you have played a ton of killer you really dont get to argue that point.

The problem lies where this killer can tunnel and camp like no other killer can. They literally made a killer specifically for tunneling and camping

I mean I dont really blame you for thinking that but I personally disagree. Yes tunneling and camping is easier than on most killers (maybe bubba is better at defending hooks and getting multiple downs), but the same way of playing the game still goes. Dont unhook people being camped. Do gens and leave. Sucks to be that one guy but dont reward the killer. And as someone said. Pop, bbq (2x blood points), and a lot of other hook perks does not work for ph either when he uses the cage. Personally I do think "We're Gonna Live Forevert" should work since its a perk that litterally does nothing gameplay wise.

But yes, leave your team mate to die. Play as if you were playing vs a facecamping bubba. If you cant remove him from the cage within 10 seconds of him getting there and you start hearing pyramid heads terror radius. Its time to let that guy die. His game is over but you should still have the time to get everyone else out.

  • Yeah I agree with the guy above. When I do play pig I usually chase someone new, but if I stumble upon you searching a jigsaw box ofc I am gonna down you fast. I might still leave you on the ground and go for someone else just because I still gained a lot of time playing like that, and maybe even 2 survivors in this case are kept busy while I am also chasing one person. And in a few cases me downing you, means you have to restart the box and sometimes I get a few kills out of that here and there. So why wouldnt I do that. But yes. Chasing the same guy immediately of hook is a bad way to play killer.....mostly. As in it will usually lose you the game. But hey thats still their choice to lose like that.

I'm sure I'm the 543rd person to suggest this. But here it goes.

    Hex NOED:

Once the exit gates are powered, if any dull totems remain, a random dull totem is converted into a hex totem with these effects:

When a survivor begins to open an exit gate (pulls the lever) they become exposed for 30/45/60 seconds. Their aura is revealed during the opening process and for 5 seconds after they let go.

    Hex NOED V2:

Once the exit gates are powered, if any dull totems remain, a random dull totem is converted into a hex totem with these effects:

All survivors within 12/16/20 (10/14/18?) meters of an exit gate have their aura revealed and gain the exposed status effect. Exposed lasts for 15 seconds after they exit the area.

    Noed V3:

when an exit gate is opened the entity prevents escape from that exit gate for 20/30/40 seconds and grants the exposed effect to the one who opened it for the duration. (This one overlaps with Bloodwarden too much IMO)

    Noed V4:

Once the exit gates are powered, all survivors within 8/12/16 meters of an exit gate have their aura revealed and gain the exposed status effect. Exposed lasts for 15 seconds after they exit the area. (Just V2 but not a hex)

Just a few ways to balance Noed about denying exit gates rather than just going kill crazy. I should specify this is a bit of a followup to a discussion in the discussion area of the forums. To summarize the point I made there. Currently Noed does not align with the primary purpose of killers, which is to deny escape. The perk focuses on getting kills at the expense of all else. These reworks will align the perk towards denying escape from the map rather than outright killing survivors.

While I in general dont dislike some of the suggestions for the perk. I would like to add that a lot of perks dont add up to the primary purpose of killers and survivors which means that one of your reasons for the change dont make a lick of sense, or that you are only using that logic on this perk.

    1. Personally considering its a hex, I dont think their should be a timer on how long they are exposed. But otherwise I think this is a fairly interesting suggestion. Maybe instead of aura, it should just be a timed killer instinct that goes on longer and longer depending on the level of the perk.
    2. I really like this, maybe the numbers need fiddling but this one is probably my favorite of your suggestion.
    3. Well besides this one but thats just because it would be insanely strong and I like easy late games. This seems op as #########. Considering running this with blood warden and a 2 other late game perks. But maybe at some points survivors would wisen to this meta and cleanse totems, nullifying the easy kills somewhat and ruining the strongest aspect of the build.
    4. I like number 4 but I think it would be too strong. Or maybe at some points survivors would start running anti aura perks. Who knows. But I think this one is too strong.

Not really because u still get 1 hit downs and vault speeds would be the same

You have either never played tier 1 meyers, or killer at all, if you think 105% movement speed (not to mention the slower than 115 killers) doesnt make you useless. There is a reason that ranged killers and killers with enhanced mobility are slower. If the noed worked from the very start of the game then sure, I'd dig this change. Hex: Noed in exchange of your speed every survivor is one hit away from being downed. And you lose 10% movement speed or something like that. And then when the perk breaks you lose the one hit but gain your original speed. Because looping a 105% killer (with a terror radius mind you) is the easiest thing in the world. If you knew where tier 1 meyers was the entire time and you were trying to loop him around just some rocks and a pallet, you could hold him there for like 30, maybe 40 seconds before having to drop the pallet and move on, gaining insane distance on him, if he breaks it.

I'm not sure how often this gets brought up, but I'm on Xbox and if the killer has a good chunk of lag or latency, the struggle phase can kill. It's not intentional, it's just the lag/latency can be so bad that it doesn't register your button pressing for a moment and assumed you stopped trying. Me and my friends have this happen to us fairly commonly.

I suggest either making the button tapping to require less presses per tick or whatever before it considers you giving up.

Or the new cages with Pyramid Head. They introduce a new way of dealing with the struggle phase. Though the lag/latency can affect skill checks, you can miss skill checks during the struggle phase and not immediately DIE. Therefore, you aren't punished for something entirely out of players control.

I know you guys don't want the player just doing nothing during the struggle phase and that's fine. It just really should be more lenient for situations like these, and unfortunately, they're unavoidable at times. You can't tell how laggy it'll be until you're IN the match, and you'll get punished for leaving and screw over your team... Though, they're usually in the same boat if the killer has the bad connection to the server.

Thanks for reading~ surely my friends and me aren't the only ones that randomly die because of this.

This might sound stupid but. Dont console players have dedicated servers? Because if they do the lag is on your connection to the server, the only benefit the killers get from lagging are hitting you. Since hit registration is (so far) only on their ends. I could be mistaken but thats how its been on pc ever since dedicated servers got enabled.

I’m beginning to believe that Spine Chill is increasingly becoming useless in the game nowadays.

even against stealthy killers like Ghostface, it hardly helps. This is one of the reasons I hate versing Ghostface. Sure it lights up when Ghostface is looking at your direction but you’d still wouldn’t know WHERE he’s looking at you from. Depending on what map you’re playing, Ghostface can still not be in your vision cus he can hide so it leaves you confused as to where he is even though you know he’s supposedly looking at you.

Ghostface is such a bs killer. No Spine Chill does not make Ghostface basic. He needs to be rebuffed

If you consider spine chill bad because it doesnt help you enough, I would argue you are probably using it wrong, or you just arent paying enough attention to your surroundings even with it. And calling Ghost face op would make most players of this game laugh. Calling him strong would still make a lot laugh. But at least thats closer to the truth. Ghost face is not op, not even close. If GF was op I shudder to think what realm, Freddy, spirit and nurse is in.

What better candidate for Dead by Daylight then the first killer.

Abilities: Bloodhunt and No Mercy (Ability name's up for debate)

*Gain 1 token for each survivor hit during bloodhunt

When activating Bloodhunt survivors heartbeats are visible to the killer when they interact with an object within 14 meters of the killer for 10 seconds. This includes walls, pallets, generators, totems, boxes, and hooks (time and range debatable) addons could be used to extend the time and or range.

Once you have gained 6 tokens No Mercy becomes available.

When activating No mercy hitting a survivor applies broken status effect and last for 60 seconds. Again addons could be use to effect duration.

When exiting Wrath you suffer a speed loss of 5% for 10 secoonds (Time debatable) and addons can lower it alittle.

And what better way for a mori then him smashing someone's head in with a rock like abel.

And abel can be the survivor!

I think this is a brilliant idea

I could be mistaken with your intent in regards to the power. But to me it sounds like a weaker plague. Sure he got some tracking in his kit but not really anything worth writing home about.

  • I doubt its because of pyramid head. I saw fewer and fewer survivors using ds weeks before pyramid head. I think its partly because for most people ds isnt gonna be used in like 9/10 games without the survivors "forcing the killers" hand. For example running into lockers in front of the killer, working on gens/unhooking survivors to try and force the killer to grab them. And a lot of killers have either grown wise of this or tired of it, so they just slap them or ignore them if possible. Making ds fairly useless as a perk because most killers dont actually tunnel.

Thats ofc my personal experience and thoughts on the matter. That the more the perk got abused the more killers refused to play into the survivors hands, making survivors either have a "useless perk" or use more consistent perks.

You forgot to say "Thank you for coming to my Ted-Talk." Lol but that's beside the point.

I definitely agree with all that you're saying, especially with the Operation Health and Rework. The way I see it, the problems stem from BHVR's greed to constantly put out chapter after chapter to maintain a constant influx of revenue. If they were to sacrifice one or two chapters to focus on other issues within the game like bugs and imbalances, then those issues would get fixed.

I would also like to add one more problem to your list:

Content creators within the DBD community influence players to buy the DLCs every time a new one is released. Otzvarda and Truetalent, for example, are Fog Whisperers so BHVR provides them with special benefits. This results in them rarely criticizing BHVR for anything as they want to maintain those benefits. If the people watching these influencers are being told that the game is fine, they'll most likely believe it. Content creators have a huge impact.

I love this game. But I want it to be better.

If you dont think Tru3 or Otz critize the devs then I dont know what to tell you, beyond watch them some more. I personally dont like watching tru3 too much but I think you can barely watch 1 days uploads without him critizing some parts of the game that the devs should have done different or some parts that doesnt make sense to him in most if not all of his videos these days.

As for Otz. Otz prefers to have a primarily positive community, so he usually tries to avoid heavily critizing anyone. But just because he doesnt go hard, doesnt mean he never critics them. He usually critizises a lot in the game and argues that some of the devs explanations are either straight up lies or wrong.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I have to disagree with your 2nd point.

I think the devs do an absolutely wonderful job with their community engagement and communication.

They give us answers to questions and reveal new content when they feel it’s READY to be communicated/shown.

Nobody, including BHVR ever wants to make the embarrassing mistake of communicating something too early only to then find in the near future it was unavoidable to make changes small or large to what was originally promised. Hence why they’re hesitant to just answer any questions the community just demands of them.

I think they do ok in regards to communication. But I sorely miss hearing anything optimistic. No need to make promises no need to speak of details but communicate whats going on, whats being looked at, whats being worked at, what they would like to do and inform people that the things they are talking about are either nice to have but ultimately a secondary concern or entirely unlikely to ever happen. All the while clearly saying that they arent promising any of these things since they are just potential things and not a window into the soon to be future.

They could even just have a seperate part of one of their Q&A or some other of their streams, where they talk about potential things that could be done. I understand they dont want to end up "lying" to their community I honestly get that. I remember in League of legends when people misunderstood a showcase of a dragon champion that was being worked on, and then 8 years later or something they finally got him but not like they wanted because of miscommunication/misunderstanding. Which is why I argue for a seperate part of their streams where they only speak of potentials, nice to have, wants. And not of guarantees. Since a lot of people feel like they are being ignored.

And while saying all this I know some people are still gonna misunderstand and some people can never be satisfied no matter what, which is why I am saying this is merely something I desperately miss in developer to players communication. I dont need guarantees, I just want to know that the devs are having the same problems, feeling similarly to me in regards to the games current state or if not, why they dont. If I can gain some sort of understanding of why things are the way they are or why certain things arent done faster, arent done at all, or why certain things wont even be considered. Anything really. I think a lot of people will be a lot more happy. When the community has to guess/speculate why the devs arent doing certain things, you end up with a split community. Some will defend the devs because they think they know why the devs do somethings "They wont nerf noed/ds because its balanced" and some will attack the devs because they think they know the right reason "They wont nerf noed/ds because they are killer/survivor sided". The community is already split in regards to killer/survivors, lets not split it further.

I wrote an entire response to this and when I tried to edit out a typo it deleted itself. It's rather long so I'm not going to rewrite it so I'll give a brief synopsis, just know that I love your comment and thank you for taking the time to write it.

Point 4 was more about nerfing perks that are picked often, not really about just nerfing OP perks. PGTW isn't OP by any means, but it's picked a stupidly high amount. I think meta perks should be nerfed ALONGSIDE buffing weak/mediocre perks so that players are given more freedom to choose rather than being soft-forced into using certain perks.

Point 5 I agree that casual would be terrible to have right now, but once full crossplay is added it might be a viable option. I agree entirely about also compensating survivors in some way for an early DC alongside full compensation to the killer as mentioned in my post. I do believe rank doesn't matter but the point I was making was that a lot of stupid tryhard players put a lot of value on their rank. BHVR should either make rank seem less important, or something along those lines.

I did not know you could mute chat each time, it's not obvious so I apologize. I do still wish for a permanent setting to disable it, but that's just me. Again sorry for the brief response, my main one was much longer but just like the game, this forum doesn't seem to want to work properly. Thank you for your comment and time!

Ah fair enough, and yes I understand not wanting to rewrite a long response since I almost deleted a ticket earlier today about 2 people teaming up to kill the other survivors(finishing my survivor challenges so I can play mostly killer again). And alright on point 4 there. I sort of understood your point like that but just wanted to make sure. And yeah I once again agreen entirely on your point with crossplay I did know it was coming I was mostly speaking with the current game in mind. There is a lot of console players as far as I know so the queue times should be mitigated a lot.

But mostly I want to see whether or not this new mmr system, they have been talking about, does anything for the game. My personal hope (its a foolish one) is that while it shouldnt constantly but you against tryhards on purpose, I hope that it at least pushes you to play vs people that are more around your actual level, or if they manage to implement any sort of "killer based" mmr system. Such as "Ahh you mainly play spirit and do really well with her, well you get to face (mostly) 4 man swf that try to win, for as long as you win. But at the same time, "Ah first time Clown, well based on your general 'skill level' you should be placed against these people but not against complete beginners since you still have basic experience". This is vain hope and I doubt we will get anything close to that. But you cant stop me from dreaming. Since this would still put some sort of a casual experience back. It wouldnt be a casual mode but you could play casually on some of your less used killers.

If this crashes and burns but crossplay is implemented then yeah I whole heartedly support a sort of casual mode to relax peoples mindset although I personally prefer a sort of ranking. Its a stupid competitive mindset but I cant help it :P. But I also know not everyone feels like that.

And fair enough again, I actually only learned about it recently myself watching some streamers watching them just without a second hesistation muting chat. But yeah a "chat yes/no" setting wouldnt harm the game.

Hello, my name is 157C/Krispe, and I have been an active member of the Dead by Daylight community since the game's release. Like many of you here amongst this forum, as well as many of my friends and individuals I see within the official Dead by Daylight Discord, I am frustrated with the way the developers (BHVR) treat its community and handle the game they've created. I thought it appropriate at this time to write an open letter that can be seen and commented upon by the community to the developers, in hopes that they respond and address many of these community concerns as well as keep us updated on what they're working on. Within this letter, I am going to address many points and as a community, please feel free to comment on all of them, on a specific one you're passionate about or specifically agree with, or just saying you agree or disagree. If you do disagree on any of these points, please state why as I'd love to open up some dialogue to see if there's a flaw in either one of our perspectives. For some context I am not a survivor/killer main, I play both very regularly and enjoy both, so I like to think I understand what each side needs, but it also allows me to not be biassed towards one side specifically. Anyways, let's get into the points.

    1) One of the main problems plaguing the community is bugs. Lots of them. But not only that, it's the fact that some have been in the game for a long time and have still not been fixed. We as a community have become accustomed to them, and that's a problem. Now, I've dabbled in game development, more specifically UE4 and Unity (gross), and I absolutely understand that patching bugs is a very difficult task. However, some bugs not being fixed, especially when they are rather simple fixes, is something I find to be ridiculous. Let's take Ghastly Gateau for example. This is a bug affecting us all right now, it's value is wrong (Supposed to be 104%, not 140%), and is supposed to stack (It's personal). Both of these from an outside perspective looks to be two relatively easy things to change and fix. Again I don't know the coding of the game, maybe I'm wrong. But even so, some COMMUNICATION about when a fix will be deployed and why it's taking so long would be nice. (This will come up at a later point). Bugs are plaguing this game, and one thing I've advocated for a long time and will continue to advocate for is an "Operation Health" for Dead by Daylight. If you are unfamiliar with Operation Health, it was a Season within Rainbow Six: Siege, where instead of getting two new characters to play, the developers took the Season to focus on fixing bugs. While many players hated Operation Health because it denied them new content, the goal of fixing a lot of major bugs plaguing the game was completed, and absolutely increased the quality of life and longevity of the game. (It was then followed by Operation Chimera which sucked ass but we don't talk about that). My point being, I would absolutely much rather have an Operation Health within Dead by Daylight then another Chapter with a mediocre killer and survivor with crap perks. (Another point later on). Please fix the game.

    2) Communication is something I feel all developers should have regularly with their community. Not just via stream, although that is somewhat acceptable, but through social media such as Reddit and Twitter. I want to take a look at Battlefront 2 by EA. That game launched an absolute mess, and to make things worse the Community Manager (CM) at the time, never talked to its community about ANYTHING. Then a new CM was appointed, and things changed. This CM was on Reddit and Twitter very often and communicated with players about things they were thinking about implementing, bug fixes, new content, EVERYTHING. BF 2 is now one of the best Star Wars games created thanks to its developers and active communication! I'm not asking for all of that from BHVR, but I'm asking for SOME of it. These streams and Q&As aren't doing it for a lot of people, especially when you gloss over/ignore really important questions from the community. It's even worse when you answer the same question multiple times and those answers give some vague/backhanded response. Let's take the latest Q&A for example. One of the main questions was that everyone feels that PH's perks are terrible and need to either be reworked/majorly buffed, and you guys basically responded with "Well we buffed it after the Test Server so it should be fine now". Why would the question be asked again if the community felt it was fine? These kind of lazy answers are not putting faith in you to make the game a better place. Please participate more in communicating with your player base about bug fixes, reworks, etc... People will be more accepting of flaws within the game if you just communicate about it.

    3) The priorities of BHVR is something I feel needs to be addressed. This goes back to bugs of course, but just in general it's something I want to discuss. Things like the Gateau bug should have been hot fixed by now, and because of the lack of communication, we don't know if that's something they're even focusing on. I think major issues impacting the community should be the highest priority for the developers and should be communicated. As simple as that.

    4) Game balance is at a point right now where if you are not running certain perks as a survivor/killer, you have a much higher chance of getting killed/losing. Just like my idea for an Operation Health, I believe there needs to be an Operation Rework, where BHVR takes time to rebalance/rework a lot of perks/add-ons for survivors/killers. There are some perks that are not only unfun to play against but are just so BORING. Here's the list of meta perks for reference (for both survivors/killers): Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, Iron Will, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Pop Goes the Weasel, Save the Best for Last, and Corrupt Intervention (Bolded because those are the most annoying imo). There are a few more that could be argued such as BBQ and Chili but those are the main ones I wanted to throw in there. Also, notice how there are way more meta perks for Survivor than there are for Killer. During Operation Rework, my hope would be the developers change/balance a lot of the meta perks, but more importantly, MAKE WORSE/TERRIBLE PERKS BETTER! For 4 Chapters we've gotten nothing but mediocre/crap perks. Last good killer perk being from Ghostface and last good survivor perk being from Nancy. Stop printing crappy perks and take time to make them better and make the best perks less meta. Also, take this time to rebalance a lot of really garbage addons for killers and make some killers more viable (Clown). I watched an amazing video by one of the best content creators of this game going through every killer up to Oni and talked about rebalancing them. I agreed with literally everything he had to say, and some of his suggestions were actually implemented (Trapper reset of traps). I suggest all of you, especially BHVR, take time to watch the video and CONSIDER adding some of his suggestions. Find the video here.

    5) This game is toxic. Entitled survivors and toxic killers is another major problem within this game and is arguably one of the main turn-offs for new players. The purple and red ranks are especially guilty of this. My first suggestion is to add a notification when a player you reported gets punished, you don't have to tell us their name, but let us know that reporting people is doing something. R6: Siege recently did this and it made me feel a lot more valued for reporting cheaters. Secondly, punish players for DCing. Don't let them play another match for 15 minutes, and have that time increase with each DC. Also, give the killer chase points and full sacrifice points for the DCed person. People DC because it hurts the killer's score, so making it not do that as much will make them less inclined to do it. Some of you may disagree with the abandonment penalty, but I say to you, this is a Ranked game mode, people are trying to get higher ranks, letting your players punish the killer simply by leaving makes that person's time less valuable, and makes the rank less valuable. My additional suggestion is to add a casual mode alongside the abandonment penalty, so losing score doesn't matter as much, but it also allows players to try more wacky/gimmicky builds. The penalty would only apply to Ranked. I would also like a setting to disable post-game chat. I want to be able to read my score and stats without seeing someone call me demeaning and offensive terms because they didn't like that they died or that we escaped. Toxicity needs to be stomped out, this is a fun-addicting game with a very toxic community and WILL turn people away from it.

This is pretty much everything I wanted to talk about, this took me around one and a half hours to think of and write out, so a comment about something you agreed/disagreed with would be much appreciated. If you have any of your own suggestions I would love to hear them so we can start a discussion about it. The goal of this post is to be seen and read by the developers in the hopes of a brighter and better future for this amazing game. Right now I think BHVR doesn't listen to its community and doesn't truly care for the fan-base and the amazing title they've created. I want them to prove me wrong more than anything. I love this game, my friends love this game, and I know many of you love this game too. Let's try to make the game a better place for everyone. Thank you for reading.

I more or less agree with most of what you are saying. Although point 5. is where I have most of my disagreements. Although I have a lot to say in regards to point 4.

    1. I basically agree 100% here. Please take time, hire help anything to get the bugs under control or get an overview of the underlying problem to some of the bugs. I would take some game health over a new addition although I know they are different departments I still fear for new additions that will break the game in new ways before the old things got fixed. If you need cash to keep the servers running then keep the rift going. But I would like to say (although this hasn't been communicated) I would wager, that the reason they havent hotfixed the cake isn't because they cant fix it. But rather because they have a other bugs they would like to fix alongside it. And one of the unfortunate things about having a pc + console game, is that consoles have to confirm each update/patch that they receive through microsoft/sony/nintendo/etc. Again this is not confirmed at all, which is a big mistake if this is the case. But its not the first time that console is the reason for a needed patch to be delayed in other multi-platform games.
    2. Again basically 100% agree. While some will still ######### about what you are talking about/not doing enough, these people can never be satisfied. And in regards to some of the questions, that you cant answer. I personally would prefer you just say something along the lines "Ah this is a thing we have talked a lot about but we cant find a way to get it to work" or "This is a neat idea and if possible we would like to implement it but as it stands now there are no plans for this" or just saying something along the lines of "Personally I would like to see this, and so would a lot of people. But we cant make any promises or guarantees that it will ever be done". Sure its technically saying a lot while promising nothing but some sort of "false hope". But to me its better than saying litterally nothing but "cant go into any details". You dont have to go into details but an idea or something with a miniscule of substance would be much appreciated and go a long way with a lot of the community.
    3. Just seemed to be a weird mix of 1 and 2 to me. But again not nescesarily something I disagree with.
    4. I agree with reworking a lot of perks and addons. I would add some of the top tier killers and bot tier killers. When I say top and bot I just mean those who are generally assumed to be the best and worst. I go over the best below, Nurse, spirit, freddy, maybe billy and oni, and worst would be, clown, legion, bubba maybe trapper and pig. Although I think some addon reworks could fix most of their problems. As for some of my minor disagreements. I just didnt understand the perks you selected (just to show my bias, killer main here). I more or less understand Pop although I would say that gen speed still feels insane in a lot of cases, but maybe some of the survivor perk nerfs would help with shorter chases and therefor making gen speed, more or less fine. Dont understand STBFL, Corrupt, or for survivors sprint burst and iron will. Maybe iron will should be removed since it keeps ######### with their sound tho, but that seems like a bandai fix and a bad idea. As for the crappy perks, the content creator you linked to (Otz) has a theory that its because of the insane power of some of the best killers, Nurse, spirit, billy, freddy and oni (probably the 5 best atm, but especially freddy nurse and spirit). If Behaviour made good perks or even great perks they would make the game unplayable for survivors if they went against these guys. Whats needed most if that is the case is actually that these killers are brought down closer to a level near some "mediocre" killers like I dunno hag or plague?. Not sure how low, but brought down a notch to make room for better perks so our trash can isn't filled up with 90% of all perks. Sure you can make fun builds or high risk builds (mostly playable on survivors btw) but outside of like impossible skill check doc or using iri addons on some mediocre killers. They are hardly viable builds. So depending on the reason behind making these mediocre/uninteresting perks we wont see any changes there. Maybe behaviour is just scared of making a perk that they consider to be ok, or fun and it turns out to be the new game breakingly op perk if mixed and matched with other perks or certain addons on some killers. Who knows. I just wish their addon creation wasnt so boring. I am fine with brown, yellow and green basically just being buffs to the killers power. But purple and iri should be almost exclusively gameplay changing. There is a bit of that in the iridescent of the rescent killers. But most purple addons are also just boring buffs. Such a shame. I miss meyers, hag and even pig has some of this in their kit. Some purples should be buffs but others should be game play changing. Doesnt matter if they are slightly underwhelming or just not damaging to the kit. But as long as they are interesting then im all for it.
    5. Here we go, actually on review my disagreements arent that big. I agree with the general toxicity statement. Although I dont think the game needs a bigger punishment for dc since it already stacks fairly effectively. I tried it myself a few times and got to 15 minute wait times real quick. I believe it was second dc. If third then make it go faster but otherwise I am fine with it since the time between my dcs there were a couple of games which means they dont have to be consecutive. I dont disagree with giving the killer a full sacrifice/hooking score for players that dc, but if its early in the match I believe survivors should get some compensation for it. Whether thats in bp, action speed or a short burst of gen repair speed I dont know, but when I play survivor and someone dcs I ######### hate every second of the match I am now stuck in. Only if its early tho, otherwise swf could easily abuse it. Sure they could still abuse it with this but since the killer still got a full kill for it I think its ok. As for my biggest disagreement its in regards to rank and to game modes. Ranked doesnt matter. If you play red ranks long enough you see people that are actually terrible at the game on both sides, to surprising degrees sometimes. Sure some are just ######### around but a lot of times people are actually just bad and just played the game long enough to get into red ranks. Since you can only depip 1 placement but its possible to double pip, and depipping is fairly hard to do unless you ######### around a lot, in most cases you will safety pip or single pip. So thats why most people say and imo are right to say that rank basically dont matter already. This game doesnt have a ranked mode. It has a glorified matchmaking system that, tries, to match you with people in similar skill level. This might change with the upcoming mmr changes so I will hold off a bit here. But in general splitting the player base up over 2 game modes would actually just kill the game. Dbd doesnt have millions of players playing at all hours. And queue times are already iffy. As for the mute end game chat. You do know there is a button for that right? Sure you might have to press it each time but that will become a habbit real soon if you really dont want to watch what people say.

So to summarize: In general I agree although I feel like some of your points arent feasible.

So yall really gonna make all this camping and tunneling acceptable for ######### killers? I died on my 1st hook in almost all my games because a killer got mad that i ran him 3 or more gens during the event with no perks lbs, yall give killers too much leway....killers are not under powered, I play both sides, killer mains just suck at the game period and yall keep compensating for the weak players they already have ######### like no ed amd devour hiw much support or cheese do the killers need? We need a survivor perk to stop tunneling and face camping, because borrowed time aint the answer for everything

If your problem is dying on the first hook, then you might wanna start playing more stealthy and then switch to long chases. Playing blendette Running iron will, urban evasion and the like. Anything to not get found for as long as possible. And when it inevitably happens maybe bring defiance and ds as a finishing touch. Maybe switch urban evasion for unbreakable if you please. But I just dont see this being that big a deal.

If a survivor is attempting to unhook in front of you hit the unhooker they try to do the 1 for 1 and you trade a down. the situation you talk about is on the chance they have bt which isn't every survivor. And in reality even with bt the person with bt on isn't gonna be able to body block before you can hit the unhooker unless you are far away. This means you should have a down on the unhook survivor and maybe a hit on the survivor with bt. I think DS is fine as it is. Deactivating it permanently during egc would be bad as it has counter eating it early. DS is most strong during that time. If a killer eats it early they wont have to worry about that. I would understand DS deactivating if another survivor was hooked if it was an anti tunnel perk but it isn't. The reason im saying noed punishes survivors for playing effectively because it is a straight up crutch that gives you free 1 shot downs and a speed boost for failing to stop gens from being completed if you failed at that you don't deserve buffs of any kind. Its not even about hating on the perk its about the crutch it gives for killers who don't deserve.

But same to you stop whining about ds and start slugging.

There we go calling noed a crutch and ignoring that ds, unbreakbable bt and spine chill are crutch perks as well. "Just play better you wont need them". I said I was done and I meant it. You cannot be reached with logic. Good day sir

Ok lets start with unbreakable its almost like you are purposely ignoring the fact that even a slugged survivor with unbreakable is still off gens therefore still slowing down gen speed and helping you in your ultimate goal killing all survivors by giving you more time. Hitting the survivor that does the unhooking would be better because now you have 2 injured survivor and two outcomes they can spend time healing or they are 1 hit and working on gens. DS also has limitations it has to be within 60 seconds and you have to have been hooked. It really bugs me that old ds was actually stronger because it could be used before getting hooked and completely deny you hooks yet this DS is complained about more. And once again im not gonna put on a low tier perk on the off chance of noed. And what about solo its too many things you have to think of like what if my team cleansed x amount of totems or how can I find the totems you aren't accounting for solo survivors and I solo a lot. Solo is way harder than swf because most of the time you have to carry your team cleansing totems is more of a time waster.

Surprise surprise solo is harder. Who would have thought.

Unbreakable. I never said it was worthless, I said that compared to having 3 survivors busy I actually barely have 1.5. The time it takes to get up with unbreakable vs the time it takes to get fully healed by someone else who also has to travel there. Just saying im getting punished for being efficient with chasing + downing.

Ofc I am gonna hit the person unhooking if I have a choice but more often than not survivors use hooked survivors as shields, or the unhooked survivors with bt are gonna run into you delaying you like crazy. Here I am actually getting punished for trying to go for someone else because either 1. I get past him but he blocked me for a long time letting the other guy get away unscathed. 2. I hit the bt, bt activates and now one is sprinting away with most likely ds and maybe even unbreakable. Going for that guy could be considered suicide but the other guy is full health and nowhere to be seen besides his fading scratch marks. This happens a lot.

Id say yes the old ds was more powerful....but primarily in the hands of the obsession. In anyone elses hands they had to get a lot of the wiggle meter done before they could get out. Plus I recall spinning and swinging into the air helped a lot as a counter to the old ds. Now it works equally on everyone but under certain conditions. I would remove the timer and let it be activated forever, but deactivated until another survivors gets hooked, and permanently deactivated when EGC starts or something like that. It can still work as anti tunnel but no need to punish killers for playing insanely well.

Ok so you are not gonna use a low tier perk to counter a fairly powerful one. Fair enough thats up to you, but I dont understand the mentality. If I hate something enough to straight up call it a "punishment for playing efficiently". I still call playing efficiently getting as many bp and emblems as possible. And cleansing totems is part of that. Running ds, unbreakable, bt, spine chill and more just incase the killer either plays in a way they find annoying or to try and counter specific killer(spine chill vs stealth).

But if you truly want a reason to cleanse totems, i'll say it again Emblems + bloodpoints and Inner strength. I used to run it with detectives hunch for shits and giggles but it turned out to be fairly good combo. Because most of the time as a survivor, perks are nice to have but not a neccesity. A few tunnelers here and there but if I took 20 games a day, I would meet maybe 1 or 2 actual tunnelers and a few where I am just unlucky, the last one or I just made a mistake. I wouldnt "get" to use ds in over half of my games, same with unbreakable. But as killer the only perks I almost never get to use are my hex perks, because they can be removed in the first few seconds of the game. Or maybe never.

So I'll say it again. Stop whining or start cleansing.

Its not a secondary objective to chase different survivors because your primary objective is to kill them all therefore chasing different survivors helps that because you are making more survivors closer to death than just one.

Depends on your point of view and how fast you are at tunneling. But in either case. Lets say you were 100% correct. My objective is making sure you guys dont escape. And your claim is that noed is a "punishment" for doing gens efficiently. I would still argue that, bt, ds, unbreakable, and what not is the exact same thing. I am being punished efficiently hitting you, downing you, slugging you. Leaving you there with the intention of buying myself time because I need more time to kill you because I am not playing one of the trifecta of killers (nurse, spirit, billy).

Slugging you. Going for your ally. And forcing another ally to come pick you up. Whoops unbreakable I gained ######### all and got punished for being efficient.

Hitting-/Downing you. You are chasing the last unhooked survivor to your basement of survivor kebab. Whoops you either get punished for trying to down them too fast, or punished for actually downing them too fast.

Yes unbreakable and ds are onehit wonders but NOED has its own limitations, only after 5 gens are done. Only if any totems are left. Whoops it spawned right next to the last gen. Whoops I never found anyoneand they all escaped. Not to forget key + hatch is also a thing that potentially just circumvents it.

What im trying to say in this very drawn out sentence is. Either put on detectives hunch and start doing totems or get the ######### out the exit gate and stop whining about a strong but fair perk.

Literally all moris need is to make them only work on death hook. I wouldn't mind seeing Ebony moris go away forever, but making it so you can't get tunneled off hook and removed from the game immediately would be a huge step forward.

This used to be my prefered rework idea for moris, used to being key. But they will never rework moris to work like this. Simply because of the addition of pyramid head. "Mori on death hook? I already do this. You want me to bring it along for the asthetic?" Not a single person would do this beyond for the shits and giggles.

So punish survivors for doing their objectively effectively?

I mean I dont disagree that the gens are their objective, but so are totems. Sure totems are only secondary objectives. But they are still objectives. You could say that only doing gens is the fastest way of escaping which is the main objective. Fair enough. You know what else is a secondary objective that gets in the way of the main objective? Chasing different survivors instead of just tunneling someone to death or bringing a mori. Its a lot easier to get kills if you just remove 1 person from the game as fast as possible.

  • Yeah maybe this is just me coming from stuff like Lol where these prices are about the same. I just cant find the will in me to give a ######### about prices in cosmestics. They are optional, neat, nice to have. They are not NEED to have. You would have better arguments with dlcs but even there only the liscense characters are pay to play and they are very cheap.

And if you think the prices are too high, then you dont want the skin. Fx, I got a present from my (now) dead grandmother. Its basically just boring decoration and only worth maybe $20 in actuallity. But to me its worth so much more. Because of memories and a connection. If you are not willing to pay for something and the price is not negotiable then you dont want it, simple as that.

when theres events going on, i try to be be nice when im killer. hook everyone once, then take them to whatever the event objective is next time i down them, and just in general farm bloodpoints. but this event... with the crown being unpredictable and despawning and reappearing elsewhere, its been pretty much impossible to try and give people the crown. i mean im still just letting survivors go and all but i'd really like to make sure they all get a crown at least.

Personally I just play normally no matter the circumstances. If I had a good game I might give hatch, if I had a bad game...well you are already out then :P. I find farming boring and legit hate every second I waste in a game with people that wanna farm. I get it, but I personally think farming is worse than toxic survivors/killers.

Toxic killers? Yeah ok I am getting face camped and thats not insanely fun but at least I had one chase before the game was over and I know this silly boy isnt gonna get a lot out of playing like this. Thats slightly optimistic because survivors love suiciding for people on hooks, but still counts imo.

Toxic survivors? Litteraly just rude #########, ignore them/defeat them/mori them/tunnel them. You have options here its not all great but usually you can return fire.

But farming....you now have your former teammates and the killer working together to do ######### all for 20 minutes, while you are falling asleep trying to do 5 gens.

  • Tbf when I play killer I feel like the event have brought the sweats out in a lot of survivors I play against. Like a few days ago I would have tough matches but most of the time I feel like I could do something if I was better. Then the event started, and unless I bring a mori (only brought it against survivors with keys so far), or spirit/freddy I cant touch them. One game I only got 2 downs before 5 gens were done. And no I didnt over comit to people I just legit never found them. Tbf that was on Ormond and that map can burn in hell for all I care.

Makes me think that either the survivors I used to play against didnt care that much about winning, or I got really unlucky yesterday and the only matches I could find was against sweaty SWF who were farming crowns.

  • @CaulDrohn said:

Try to ignore the douchebags, there will be others who a grateful.

I also had a round where I showed a Pig a crown spot only to get downed and hooked afterwards without mercy. We already had a DC and another suicide on hook. So the match was pretty much over. Such ungratefulness ... 😣

Tbf crowns are worthless on pig, since she is a liscense character and they dont get crowns. You essentially showed her 750 blood points which... I mean thats nice and all but you are worth more on a hook.

  • Is this for real? In all the times I have ever seen people complain about stuff, this is without a doubt the weakest. If you wanna bm people just bring a mori and tunnel.

  • Gonna be honest here I am like 80-90% killer player. The last 10%-20% is doing survivor challenges, rituals and playing with friends. But when im playing survivor I have on several occassions (personally I would say most of the time, but its a been while since I last did it) been a #########. If I am just playing solo to complete challenges and what not, and I happen to be the first one on the hook. If its really really early in the game and I see like 3 survivors urban evading around on the other side of the map, of if I happen to go second phase on my first hook. Well thats a gg from me I kill my self on hook and move on.

I cba to deal with people that dont wanna play the game or "win". If there is no attempt at playing im out. Surivor queues are fairly short in my area so its not a problem.

Does that make me a bad person? No. But it does make me a terrible team mate, which is why I usually play killer so I dont have to deal with the occassional potato.

As a killer, I rarely camp (99% of the time its after the last gen has popped and the game is basically over, just trying to get a final kill. Maybe more if the survivors ######### up.

As for tunneling. I cant even begin to describe how often you get accused of tunneling when you either randomly run into the same survivors over and over, either because of poor decision making, them being the only one near me (run away if you have been hooked once, dont be a suicidal hero), the others being immersive or just bad luck. Ofc sometimes its very intentional, a few times because of feeling slighted by them (stupid of me, they want my attention), sometimes because well 2 gens left and 0 kills. Somebody has to die if I want a chance at this. And sometimes me just being completly unable to catch the other guys.

Sucks to be that survivor but if I see someone I just hooked run into no mans dead zone, and another fresh survivor with a clicky clicky flashlight run into pallet heaven, ofc im not gonna follow into a pallet heavy area. I want fast downs and fast pressure. The more arrogant a survivor seems (flashlight clicking, tbagging, running OoO, etc) the more I try to not chase them, and chase everyone else. Its plain suicide to do anything else.

  • One of the biiiig reasons that Behaviour even got this Liscens is 100% because Silent hill as a gaming franchis kind of died with P.T. in my oppinion. So even though they are different companies I doubt very much that Capcom wanna share their game franchise with anyone since they are still pumping out games. Could be wrong but I doubt it.

I disagree. The logical choice is to split pressure. She is injured, he quickly injured the ash and hooked him.

Now you have more people injured and closer to death. This applies more pressure then just tunneling the meg down.

I mean downing her and then following Ash would be even better split pressure, thats at least 3 survivors occupied. Ash being chased, Meg downed and one of the other 2 survivors or maybe both healing her trying to get her up. Downing her and instantly hooking her would likely be the wrong choice. Yes she is one hook of being dead but no one else is, if she is smart she would stay on the other side of the map the rest of the game (or at least for a long time) doing gens back there and not doing altruistic stuff and the killer would have very little pressure on the remaining three survivors.

Share the hooks...not necessarily among all four survivors, but if you hook say, 2 of them twice and 2 of them once or something. Their options are getting limited. Usually at this moment they have like 2-3 gens left, unless you been very unlucky or getting outplayed heavily. If there is only 1 or even 0 gens left then you should have probably focused on fewer survivors or chosen better targets.

At least thats how I usually play killer.

Well, personally, I think the probability for a survivor to find a key in a chest is lower than having at least 1 out of 4 survivors start the game with a key in the first place. And if they decide to use Plunderer just to try and find a key, it's even better for the killer, they waste a slot instead of using it for a much better perk. And it's not like Plunderer's guarantees you find a key in a chest...

Its not like it mattes if one survivor runs pluderes, thats 1 out of the 16 survivor perks in the match thats definitly not a meta perk. And even if you are running pluderes you can still have one exhaustion perk of choice, ds and unbreakable. Do you really need anything else? I mean you might want something else but I am talking need here.
