-Your argument is flawed from the start because "to be fully immersed" means you're doing nothing productive, and if you "stay near the strong loop point at all times", you're not going to be near/ doing gen. it's always possible to catch a survivor, the only issue is if it would waste too much time doing so.

-if someone instantly unhooks another survivor, slug that survivor and chase the farmer.

Nobody said you can't camp to secure a killer when 5 gens are done, if you decide to camp someone because you don't like them- that's fine but admit that you camped/ don't be mad if they call you out for it, and OoO is designed to get you tunneled so there's no harm in giving them what they want

Ahh sry I dont think I got what I was saying fully across. Was slightly tired when I wrote it, and im not always good at conveying my thoughts.

    1. The "fully immersed" was slightly more jokey as in they arent very good at looping and are only trying to hide. That entire imagined scenario was a drawn out way of trying to say that I was only trying to kill the weakest link so the time I would waste on the better loopers wouldnt lose me the game. And that if survivors wanted me to not focus them then they would have to take hits for the worse survivors. Its not easy but neither is chasing them sometimes. But I would argue that a lot of maps have main buildings (temple of purgation or Asylum) or just great loops near gens. And the good players know where to run to waste a killers time. That was my point. But I agree with you otherwise.
    2. Again not conveying my point properly. That was generally what I meant. If the other one sprint bursted away and I cant see them. I usually choose to eat the ds and chase the same person again. But if they arent miles away I will go for the unhooker after slugging.
    3. Agreed, nothing to add.
  • I fully admit to camping, and tunneling when I do it. But most of the time this is still on survivors or just that there is nothing for me to do beyond that.

Tunneling is usually done if capturing any other survivors is not possible or likely to happen. Lets say I am playing against 2 Blendettes and 2 neas. In this scenario the neas are gods of looping, clicking flash light and in general never runs far from the strongest looping points. The blendettes on the other hand, are used to just immersing themselves and hiding.

In this made up and not at all happens all the time scenario, if I find a nea after a few experiences with them, I would ignore them and go for the claudettes if I find them. And hardcore focus them. If I manage to kill them soon it doesnt matter if the neas can loop me for minutes at a time if there is only one of them left to do gens. Chasing the neas is a huge detriment to my chance of winning. Is this tunneling? Absolutely but its the only game plan I have.

A more common thing that happens is if people unhook unsafely, and then hide or dissappear. Now I can waste time looking for someone I cant find or I can chase the guy bleeding, crying and leaving scratch marks. It happens every day. IF you unhook someone unsafely you have to take responsibility and take a hit or as they say "take aggro".

As for camping. I dont really like camping. But I do do it for a few reasons.

    1. Is the simplest. 5 gens are done and I have one on the hook and dont have noed. Im not gonna spend time risking everything for most likely nothing.
    2. I got pissed off at someone for something done during the game. Its not really a good reason at all but it doesnt happen that often anymore. Getting over most peoples acts during the game.
    3. Just general annoying things. Like if someone snuck in a key and I didnt notice(usually bring a mori to counter) or if its OOO. But those are just personal rules that also include tunneling. If you bring a key or you have OOO to me that just means you want a hard game or attention. You may disagree but I cant stand that perk or items

Killers can still use Ruin, it is still a decent Perk. Obviously only if you are somewhat decent as Killer, it is no mindless Slowdown like before. But if someone is good at Killer, Ruin is way more annoying than before.

And well, I guess its up to you if you decide to chase someone for 3 Gens.

Cmon thats not fair. If you have ever played killer, you know that statement is bullshit. No one chooses to run someone for 3 gens. What usually happens is survivors spawn on 4 different gens, start repairing and the killer starts a chase with one of them...maybe 20-30 seconds into the game. All it takes then is 1 minute of a chase or less if people just stay on their gens long enough after the hook.

If you have never experienced that then I encourage you to not speak out about it. It happens to the best killers in the game so ofc it happens to the average Joe as well.

  • Personally I just dont see the issue. No one would have said a single thing if they didnt have the option to start with. So now they include a few skins that arent mixable. But which looks a lot cooler (imo). So yes. Vote with your wallet. Dont buy it if you dont like it, and let the rest of us enjoy them. They are not all gonna be set pieces.

that is such a dumb remark though, might as well say "why be poor when you can be rich?"

And what does htat have to do with playing together anyway?

Well its a stupid comment from the guy quoting him. But in the case of puppers it makes sense. He has both, so why would he play on console if computer is the same game but feels better.

But yeah it has absolutely nothing to do with crossplay.

  • Xenomorph yes but I fear the liscense is gonna be a nightmare. Predator is just not gonna happen not with its own game out atm and it just not fitting all that well into the game. Not too sure about Predators hunting targets that cant actually fight back or a highly tecnological advanced race being added. It just wouldnt mesh that well with this game imo.

  • If they devs actually implement their new matchmaking system before crossplay then if console players arent as good as the same rank players on pc or vice versa. Then they shouldnt face them anyway. I cant imagine thats its gonna be that big of a deal. And the one thing that will get destroyed by this should be long queue times.

So as a pc player I hope for it. Usually I dont have long queue times but it happens and the more people you are capable of playing with the better overall imo.

Personally i bought the game because of freddy so i have like 4k hour on him XD. Dying light is not that great of a perk its only a win more perk and most of the time it only affect 2 survivor the obsession is buff exept is repair speed and the survivor you chase is not affected because well you chase him i dont think he is cocky enough to start doing a gen in the middle of the chase . In my opinion freddy trive in chase so the hit and run strat is not great on him so thana is less effectif. In my opinion if you want to play forever freddy you are better with surge and surveillance .

Ps: i dont know why we call that forever freddy i play a lot of tcg and that kind of playstyle is call control

I believe its because before ruin got changed and his addons got nerfed the games would last forever. You didnt have to 3 gen as a freddy since he could tp to any gens. The games would last for such an insane amount of time compared to any other game. Yes it would definitely fit the playstyle of control from tcg. But unlike tcg this games matches are closer to aggro with some midrange matches. So any type of control type playstyle would be hated, since people in general, like fast matches.

    @batax90 said:

Im trying to understand why some people want to nerf freddy. He have a strong base kit but its not op most of the ability he have got a cooldown yeah i can spam my trap but you need to be asleep to activate them. Falling asleep take close to a minute and its easy to wake up. He can tp every 45 or 50 seconde this is a long time. The addon he got are so so he have 3 usefull addon the rest are not that great or good for a meme build. So why do you want to nerf him

Personally as a killer main. I too would like him nerfed. A long with spirit and nurse. I want those killers (possibly oni and Billy too) brought closer to our mid tier killers, for one simple reason. If they nerf the strongest killers there are Behaviour has to do something to nerf Survivors as well. I usually play all killers. And while I can do fairly well (not 4k with 5 gens left) on even bottom tier killers Its a lot more work for a lot less of a reward on those killers than it is on the top 5 killers.

If they nerf the best killers especially those with the higest amount of mobility. Maybe we can see some more nerfs to map sizes/loops. Maybe we can see some actual good new perks, or buffs to old perks. Since now the best killers cant become insanely op if they introduce som new perk that just happens to be actually damn good on Nurse.

"Oops this perk is actually pretty insane on nurse and spirit for some reason. Well its no big deal we'll nerf that aspect a little bit and until then its not gonna be out of control".

I realise that this is unlikely to happpen. But thats my personal reason why I dont mind them being nerfed at all.

  • Correct me if Im wrong but at least survivor isnt any more difficult to play on console than it is on computer. Third person gameplay usually isnt at least. So all the killer mains on console shouldnt see much of a problem turning on crossplay.

I don't feel stressed at all when i play video game lol i guess you look at it from the different angle when you are adult.

Is 31 not an adult age? Goddamn I got some years to go.

Its got absolutely 0 things to do with being an adult lol. Its got everything to do with how maybe not how serious, but at least your attitude to playing games. I play games in general to be if not good then at least as good as I can be at them. Thats my hobby thats my enjoyment from games. Usually when people dont stress over something its because they dont care. And thats ok, not everyone has to feel the same. I just want to care about my hobby. I dont stress that much at work because Im lucky with my workplace, but I do stress from playing killer. Usually the good kind of stress, one where you stress because there is a lot to do but you know if you just manage to do them within a set amount of time you might just sneak a win out of a lost situation.

But thats just my oppinion. If I play with my friends I dont feel stressed because I care more about having fun with them than playing the actual game. Thats the difference to me.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1431378#Comment_1431378

This is why I find killer less stressful. I sweat so hard as solo Just for some clown to run around taunting the killer with a flashlight and going down, or someone who takes a hit....then runs into the basement for a save anyway easily giving the killer 2 basement hooks.

I have a much better winrate as killer than solo survivor. The days of playing solo and getting a good team are long gone.

Lol you find killer less stressful? I mean I find it more fun. But playing survivor = meh I dont need to xxxx. I have 3 other smugs thats probably gonna do that. When you share the burden with others there is less for you to do and less pressure on you to do it well. Which is why the fewer allies you have left the more stressful it becomes. How weird huh.

As a killer the only allies you have is your perks, add-ons and your power. And if they dont help you out a lot its 100% on you. As I said, I prefer playing like that anyway since I dont enjoy relying on others to win. Especially as you said when the others are just garbage bags with legs. The games where I get those survivors are few, but they do happen. Almost as few as the times I get god tier swf vs my killer. And in either case I consider those games lost from the get go. In those cases I just try and get as much bloodpoints and kills/maybe hatch escape. You might like the playstyle more, but calling it less stressful is just not correct.

When you see 3 gens flying and not a single survivor has been hooked, you are in for bad time. And its entirely on you. Its still possible to win, but you might have to play like a dick.

  • To be fair calling people dictators, because they change something they own and have the right to (potentially ruin) is a hell of a dumb argument. With that said, I personally hated Billys just holding their goddamn chainsaw at loops forcing me to make a either a guess or a mistake because they just kept getting closer. When they were in my face I didnt care about it. I would try to spin/outplay. Because at that moment, ok fair enough I was caught out of position. Its basically a problem with insta downs in general in this game. Most killers with insta down dont move a the speed of light as well.

With all that out of the way. Its a wrong approach at least the current itteration is to nerf Billy. I personally like his addons(except the move fast when a flashlight shines on you....lul what?), and im tired of the overpowered iridescent ones that some killers have, huntress especially comes to mind. I prefer purple/iridescent to be ones that change the way a killer is played or to be ones that inhance his powers without just buffing the numbers. This does not include the boring debuffs that pyramid head got like Blindness or hemorraghe. Just remove these debuffs from the game and nothing would change.

Same goes for the debuff addons for Bubba like the broken and mangled. It doesnt make sense since no survivors are gonna be hurt by these things for more than 10 seconds or something like that. Makes them slower/unable to heal for 90 seconds. Make it 2 minues and maybe its worth talking about. Since unless they get immediately unhooked or even healed from dying state then those 90 seconds wont work for all that long. But at least its better than billys old "slows gen repair speed" jesus that was terrible.

It sounds to me you're a rank 1 killer so are you not getting matches with red rank swfs? It seems like every single one of my matches are swf groups.

Im more and more convinced that he is full of ######### and a troll vying for our attention. If he wasnt he would just upload like an entire 4 hours long unedited video of him just stomping survivors just to prove himself right. Because yeah I have had those days where even in red ranks survivors have no clue whats going on and maybe even a few of those in a row. But then all of a sudden and out of nowhere swf just shows up and the game is over before I get anything done. Its disturbingly impressive. You see the same with like all the most popular streamers where they just get stomped and there was nothing they could do.

Those games, you ignore and move on. Because you were meant to lose those from the get go. You might try and learn from them but most of the time those are just lost games.

lets say you get a perfect game and get 32000 plus the bbq stacks thats 64000 then the beast of prey points which is 4000 that adds up to 68000 points. Im not positve because i haven't played in a while but im pretty sure you need to kill people to get the 32000 because of the sacrifice points

Almost correct except for 1 thing. Beast of prey and every single add-on or perk, besides WGLF for survivors and BBQ for killers, do not give you "bonus" bloodpoints. The reason I put bonus in quotations is that besides offerings, BBQ and WGLF you can at most get 8000 bloodpoints in altruism. Or in brutality or in deviousness. And so on. 4 different categories. And only 8k in each. This gives you 32k bloodpoints.

The perks and add-ons. Just makes it easier for you to get to 8k. Lets say that you earn 6k bloodpoints in the hunter category. Now Beast of prey would give you 3k bloodpoints. But since 8k is the max it can only give you 2k bloodpoints. It just makes reaching the max amount a lot faster. In most cases its really really bad. In some cases with like a slugging nurse/billy or any killer that ends the game fast it could help give you a lot of bloodpoints instead of only like 17k or something like that. But its usually terrible.

I dont agree with you, imo its the same mindset but a lack of knowledge or fear of consequences.

Remember when Wake Up was bugged and boosted everything? yeah its those people who would use it all the time and heck you can borderline call that cheating through dev fault, or atleast abusing an exploit.

This game is not a competitive game, its far to broken for that with way too many niggles.

Now if only we could somehow match up try-hards with try-hards....but that wont happen because they both want meaningless ez wins so they would not be happy

And I do not care about losing, I run every perk in the game and give my killers and survivors each their own set for fun, and I do not run add ons or items because imo its just nonsense, but that is all besides the point.

I mean if it is a broken unbalanced mesh. Its still a competitive enviroment. You have 2 teams playing against each other. Thats the definition of a competition. Ofc there is different levels of competition, like boardgames with family vs World tournaments. But you cant stop people from being competitive by nature. Just because some people want to play one way (more relaxed, within a set of made up rules so to speak) doesnt mean that others have to as well. And in fact most people that play with moris/keys and the like arent all that competitive, they are just trying to win or make the opposing player(s) annoyed or angry.

I deliberately use mori 100% of the time I see a key. And I really dont care how much survivors cry afterwards. I just tell them that bringing a key is demanding to be moried or to have a difficult match. Thats their choice to make. Ofc survivors cant do much to counter a mori. Beyond leaving a survivor on hook until almost death, which isnt that great of a strategy unless the killer camps as well.

  • @TheWind said:

Is this the killer equivalent of calling survivoral candidates tunnelers or campers? I am legitimately asking what this means.

Logically, I'd think that a try hard is someone who's trying to win. Isn't that... everyone? Killer is trying to kill you (I would imagine) and survival candidates are trying to well... not die. So ######### is a sweaty tryhard anyway and how is it different from any other player or insulting?

I feel like understanding could do me some good so help a guy out.

Usually its people that, just wanted a chill game and somehow expects you to do the same. Which is stupid, because its not up to you to play the game the way they want. But this upsets them so they have to take their anger out on the anonymous person that in their mind didnt play their way. This should be ignored.

Or sometimes its people that are trying to win but, to them is not doing anything thats as "overpowered"/"strong" compared to what you are doing. Again these people are living by some unknown rules and expect you to follow them. Again this should be ignored.

Sometimes its people that wanted to troll you or are just too cocky. Like flashlight spamming, going for pallet stuns constantly so they can tbag. Or are just underestimating you because you are playing a killer that in their mind is really weak. So when they get killed. Well again back at the upset + outburst. Too much salt is bad for you, so this should be ignored.

I just got called tryhard for using everything I possibly could use of very strong/op add-ons perks. Plus a mori. On a spirit. Why would I go so far? Because I hate keys and blendettes. 2 blendettes brought 2 keys in a 4man swf. I just wanna play normal games. But since I cant control what the survivors want to do, I can at least make the game a lot easier for me since I dont want always want to play the best of the best.

  • @johnmwarner said:

First, I think that the changes to Billy were overdone... but facing multiple billies today on live it’s clear they’re using up their insta saw addons and quite frankly I expect them to start getting absolutely bulllied when these changes take effect.

They have no idea how to loop, curve, etc... don’t even know the right time to take an M1 because they rely on their double charge speed addons to carry them.

Rant over, real billy players I feel bad for you but this is similar to nurse where people using broken addons brought at the notion and the devs overdid it

Almost 100% agree. Except for the nurse part. Even her base kit was op. You will hear that from most killer DBD streamers as well. Was it the right way to nerf nurse? Probably not since she is still the best killer in the game, but just a lot more difficult to play. Where I would prefer if she was closer to a michael myers level instead of spirits level. In strength at least. Not for them to be equal. Just for the massiv gulf between some killers to be reduced. Like the strength difference between spirit/nurse/Freddy and like pig or legion is insane. If spirit nurse and freddy. Are played at their best and with their best addons and perks to suit their playstyles. Then most survivor teams will crumble and die before 3 gens get done.

If pig, bubba or legion is played at their best, with best perks and add-ons.....well they might get 4k. Its certainly possible. But its a lot, a lot more difficult not to say unlikely for their to be that many gens left. It happens dont get me wrong. But goddamn do you have to sweat in comparison.

  • I am definitily not the right person to talk about this since I hated playing Billy and playing against him. As to why, vs most other killers, even spirit/nurse/freddy you werent dead immediately if you made a mistake. And the fact Billy's could just spam his chainsaw behind you until he could guarantee a hit was stupid. As for the reason why I didnt like playing him, partly because I had trouble controlling his saw and partly because I thought it was too, well boring. I honestly enjoy the mind games with simpler killers like trapper/wraith/Piggy and so on.

As for the nerfs. I think the overheat mechanic is fine. Overtuned and some parts working the opposite how they should. But ultimately fine.

    Suggested changes:

Instead of around 10 seconds of use it should be 15 or something similar since it is a very small amount of usage.

Or instead of cooling down faster when its fully overheated than it does when it isn't. It should be the opposite. That it cools down faster when it isnt overheated. Its kind of silly to "reward" people that overuse their ability by putting it on a faster cool down instead of just rewarding players capable of using the chainsaw fast without needing to set up their guidance system and guarantee hits.

At the very least, the fact that the chain saw continues overheating even when the player lets go of m2 is....at best stupid. I dont know if I think it should start to cool down but at the very least it should stop heating up. Anything beyond that is just dumb.

As for nurse. Honestly I think they rework her again. Make her a bit easier/less annoying to play. But maybe limit her in other ways. Because at the moment the few times you run into a nurse, its a stomp. Whether its a stomp because "Holy crap we found a good nurse" and she is just slaughtering and slugging everyone. Or its a bad nurse and you can run in a straight line and she wont hit you. There is rarely anything in between.

Her and spirit should probably be looked at and a nerf on Freddies kit either with a time limit on his blood pools (which would make his pallets better) and/or less of a cooldown reduction on his teleport.

Wow, another person who missed the point. Ok about bps.. I said 60-80k did I not? Yeah 64 falls in that range.. and I'm not farming them, or letting them farm me lol.. I'm trying to let everyone feel they had a worthwhile game and get point.. as for troll... Yeah I don't even know what to say to that dude. XD

You actually said 60-100k but thats beside the point. Yes 64 is within that range, but you said that you could average 100k without offerings. Which is straight up a lie. At the moment the absolute highest you can earn in a game (thanks to the crowns) is 32.750 Bloodpoints. The only perks that can increase your bloodpoints beyond the 8k over each category are BBQ for killers, and WGLF for survivors which doubles the bloodpoints to 64k (not sure it increases crown points). Beast of prey and a lot of the other perks that say they increase your bloodpoints, only helps you reach 8k faster. It will never give you more than that, only offerings can do that. Which is why im calling you a troll.

That and telling people to stop playing the game "normally" because you feel like everyone should have had fun and that "I just dont get it". Is the most pretentious religious bullshit I have ever read about a game in my life. Yes it would be ideal for everyone to have had a worthwhile time. But to some that can only be achiveved by winning. Which means your logic is "No no. You didnt lose you came First from the bottom. Here is a participation trophy. Winners? No we dont have those either"

Go ahead and play like you want. It doesnt make you any better or worse than people who camp/tunnel. Its just a different kind of annoying playstyle. And claiming that it does just makes you a "soccer mom".

No sir, my points come from beast of prey and BBQ, and playing well. Offerings have nothing to do with it. The longer survivors are alive.. the more point opportunities you have as killer.

You can at most get 64k without offerings. Try again troll. And saying "Wow you guys arent just letting the survivors farm to get a lot of points". Its a competition between 2 teams. One team tries to fufill their objective(Escaping, surviving and doing gens) the other tries their objective(Stopping the survivors from completing their objectives, usually by killing them). Thats the game in short, and how you go about playing the game is up to you , but those are the objectives. If you personally wanna ruin games for survivors that actually wanna play and not just farm. Then you go ahead and play your game. You are allowed to play like you want, despite it being really annoying for a lot of people.

And yes I deliberately spelled it out like that for you. At least with camping, the games are over fast for that guy and something did happen in the game instead of trying to kill people with boredom.

Freddy only became top tier when they nerfed ruin into the dirt, because his power which is now passive, slows the game down like the old ruin used too. So he is basically a killer with a built in Hex:Ruin mechanic.

Nurse and Billy are about to be on the same level which is A-Tier if played perfectly. Spirit and Oni are prolly the only 2 balanced killers left and they are most likely up the chopping block for nerfs after Billy gets neutered.

My point is though the gen times are too fast and nerfing 1-shots isnt the answer, its just a side-effect of gens being done too fast and easy. 1 shots just slow the game down which is really whats needed. They can nerf them to thier hearts content for all i care, just add more objectives so gens arent just rushed in 3 minutes flat; thats just boring gameplay.

No Freddy was even more insane with the old ruin since he had that and his own slow down build. The games would never end. If you consider nurse to be A- then I fear you have never played a good nurse. Unless you are in a 4man swf there is no hope. Same, but to a lesser degree goes spirit. In regards to Billy, I underestimated how hard they were gonna hit him (one of the reasons I asked people to wait for ptb, was to know how and what we should complain about) and he is at best B tier on the ptb.

In regard to the gens being done too fast. I dont disagree but if they nerf the gens or add more necessary objectives for survivors then, yes vs most killers its gonna be an ok change, but vs those top 5 (as they are right now) then its gonna be a slaughter.

No, im arguing that those stacks across 4 survivors is stupid powerful. When you view the game as a 4v1 and theres 4 times each of those across the whole team its a significantly more difficult game. Youre thinking of 1 killer with perk combos im pointing out that theres 4 survivors that all have perks that synergize with eachother. Youre saying that if they made perks any stronger then they shouldnt stack but youre not considering how those things already happen now on survivor side.

Great example is For the People + Soul Guard. Pretty meaningless when only 1 survivor runs those together. Crazy good when 2 run it together while in communication. Absolute hell if all 4 are running it while in communication. Its the same thing when all 4 survivors coordinate their perks to optimize how much havoc they can wreak.

Nobody cares or talks sbout this but will ######### about forever freddy and impossible skill check doc all day.

Never faced For the people + soul guard and Ds and unbreakable has never been that big of problem for me personally. But I see you point. I just dont think that "But the others can do it" is a good enough reason. I might be in the minority, but I just dont care when the 4man SWF hit-squad rolls into town. By the design of the game you were doomed to lose those matches unless you are playing spirit, nurse or possibly freddy.

The game wasnt designed to have any communication so the minute some work around makes that happen it immediately scews whatever balance may have existed. Luckily those matches are far and few in between, and if you feel like they are that frustrating the best thing to do is down 1, camp him and either get only 1 kill og slay the army of altruistic people. Essentially, just give up that match to move on to the real one. There arent that many sweaty 4man swf.

I mean, that doesn't change the issue. Matchmaking is busted and things need better balancing. People shouldn't have to play the top 5 to rank up.

Not like ranks really matter. Between green ranks and red ranks the difference is minimal. The difference between different red ranks is insane though.

  • Your point? I never argued that, he didnt. But saying that you could just use 2 perks, that also does different things beyond that, to do one specific thing. Seems like a weak argument. Its like saying "Why should Hex: Devour Hope exist? When you could just use Rancor and Nemesis to do basically do the same thing". Just because a combination of 2 perks can do one thing, doesnt mean a weaker version of that combo cant exist, or a better version but with a requirement. Like STBFL is a 100% worse version of unrelenting.....until you get a few hits in on a non-obssession. Suddenly it helps a ton with not only missed attacks but also attacks that hit. And thats just one perk vs another.

It becomes even easier when a perk does several things to make a different perk that only does one thing. Like Fire up vs Brutal strength. Fire up is a lot better than Brutal strength....but only towards the end of the game, where its basically too late, making it a worse perk.

You can use Thanatopia to slow down healing and gen repair but not by a lot, or use Sloppy butcher and Pop goes the weasel for much slower gen repair but with some different requirements.

So? How is that different from 4 survivors running bt, ds, unbreakable and deliverance/dead hard or whatever?

Are you arguing against something I never said? And arguably the only ones that really stack there is Ds + unbreakable, one makes you dangerous to pick up and the other makes you dangerous to leave behind. Maybe bt + deliverance? But its only really DS + unbreakable thats dangerous in my mind.

I litterally only said that if they are gonna make perks strong on their own, they really need to make sure they dont stack to ridiculous degrees. I never said I minded perks being strong on their own. I am a killer main, so I only mentioned those playstyles because I know them. No idea what perk combos beyond the two mentioned that a survivor could run, that would be as insane as those mentioned. Primarily its the "Forever" version, like Dying Light, Thanatopia, Pop/Surge, and something else. All these perks stack and make gen progression insanely slow on some killers, but especially Freddy, since he got add-ons that help as well.

What perk combos do you have in mind thats insane on Survivor. Again, beyond Unbreakable + DS.

I mean you can already do this using FC and Nemesis.. also PH is about using his cages so weird to give him a perk that wouldn’t even work with his cages.

Demo got Surge which doesnt work with his Shred. Cannibal got Franklins demise which doesnt work with his Chain saw. And a few others dont work too well in how they generally play with their common perks. Just because its not perfect for them doesnt mean much in DBD land.

I have a few questions regarding Pyramid HEad and the torment cages.

What is the design intention behind Pyramid Head putting a survivor in a cage and how does it give the killer and advantage?

Why do I see hardly any PH killer use the cages? I'm a rank 1 survivor but I've seen this from rank 7 as well, hardly any PH will use a cage and I have been told in order to play PH well you must never use cages.

What can the devs do to make the cage a worthwhile option instead of a hook?

Its a dangerous mechanic to use, thats why you dont see it often mostly. Using it loses you all pressure a normal hook could potentially give you. But there are a few scenarious where using it is by far the best choice.

    1. If you down a survivor(or more) and you see another survivor or more nearby. Sending the survivor to a cage instead of a hook, makes it possible for you to immediately start chasing another survivor instead of having to start looking for them.
    2. If you have downed a survivor under a pallet or out in the open, and you know a survivor is nearby. But you cant find them. Sending them to a cage could be the safest choice instead of risking to get blinded/pallet stun.
    3. If you think they have Deliverance, sending them to a cage makes them unable to break free by themselves.
    4. If they have just been unhooked sending them to a cage means you dont have to slug them to avoid getting DS'ed.
    5. If you wanna make sure they dont suicide on hook, for some reason.

But beyond those situations its not often a good idea to cage people, imo.

Still though (even though I like fire up), other devs have stated wanting each perk to be singularly useful on its own. Fire Up could do with some more oomph by mid game.

If they want each perk to be useful on their own, they need to make them unable to stack with other perks otherwise at some points we are gonna end up with some other version of "Forever Freddy", or "Impossible skill-check Doctor"

  • @m0rtalk0mbat said:

He has zero map pressure, lowering his movement speed would just make that worse. The guns not an insta-down so the fact the shot moves fast isn't really that big of a deal IMO. I'd say if anything he could use slight buffs, not really even sure why his movement is 110%, his guns not nearly as strong as huntress hatchets.

I think he is fine where he is. Making him 115% would make him insane. I think its more like the upper tier killer need to be toned down a notch, so we can get proper nerfs to survivors. A thing that will never happen unless killers get nerfed first. Most killers can still function fairly well if not outright great. But The top 5 killers just outright destroy most survivors. The best of the best survivors arent even statistically relevant. Those are outliers, and beyond sweaty 4man SWF its gonna happen once or twice in 100 games or so.

But if killers get good with those top 5, some being easier than others to learn, most survivors are gonna get stomped. Spirit, Freddy, Nurse, and to a lesser degree, Billy and Oni. If killers know how to play those and try to win. Then they will win a lot more than they will lose.

  • *Dr. Evil impression* 1 MILLION BLOOD POINTS.

Since bonus blood points from behaviour isnt limited by blood points cap, its not gonna hurt anyone.

Is it gonna happen? Ofc not. But thats what I am going for.

  • My thoughts are I have no idea of what your basis is. Is this only base kit? Is it from a survivors or killers(or both) perspective? How strong is S, A, B, C, D tiers. Is it with the best possible perks? In which case maybe you wanna say what they are, some people might disagree. Is it with best possible add-ons (iri hatchets).

With 0 details all I can say that my thoughts are, is "Ok?"

if you were in seconds phase and 4gens left, its your fault unless killer was nurspirit or one hit hatchet

I think you mistake what I meant with that. I meant if I see 0 people sitting on gens for a minute of game time. I am out. People go down fast, I know that. But if I am not getting rescued and people arent doing gens. Then what are they doing? 1 might be chased away but not all 3. So they arent playing the game, so I leave.

  • I'd prefer if DS had a longer timer, or no timer at all. But instead had certain conditions where it would deactivate. One of them being Gates are powered, ds permanently deactivates. Or something like that. Or its like exhaustion, where the timer only goes down when not running. Ds timer could go down only when doing actions or, like healing/repairing or something like that. Or maybe the timer would only start after doing an action. So infinite duration, but a gen was touched, DING 60 second timer starts. It might need a shorter timer in those cases though, otherwise it would be very easy to abuse.

But the one thing I want is just that ds is permanently disabled, at the very least, when the gates are open.

  • Yeah im with the anti blendette squad. Unless you see white socks sticking out from the scenery she can be goddamn impossible to see at times.

    Hey guys,

I just had this crazy idea of how Pennywise terror radius could be different from other killers.

What if it worked the opposite way to the regular terror radius?

Outside the 32m survivors would hear a regular heart beat (not too loud), and as Pennywise got closer, the would start to fade away, until it went completely silent, meaning he was right on top of you.

I believe this would help inducing more fear Into the survivors, which is the whole concept of Pennywise.

Do you think it could work? Would it be good?

If I try to imagine it, the terror radius audio would have to be like Circus music or something like that. Some sort of music (like whats used in any of the movies, new or old) which is technically soothing/fun music but there is something off about it. Something creepy. Like Pennywise himself. A clown is technically supposed to be fun/relaxing of sorts. But there is something off about Pennywise (well thats just clowns in general, but Pennywise especially :P). Kind of like the idea of it working across the map but dissapearing when he gets close. Something that would usually let give you relief (unless playing vs a stealth killer) but now thats the time for terror.

But the reason I would want it to be a bit more calm or relaxed music(despite still being creepy) is, if you have played vs Legion when he uses his Iri button add-on. Holy ######### my ears are just abused by the constant barrage of loud audio.

  • Lightborne change is fine. You were basically already immune. The time you had to stare into a flashlight was insane. And a lot of time survivors miss the timing because they are used to killers watching paint dry rather than stare out into nothing, so they havent got the practice in. So for the last week I have been succesfully blinded maybe 3 times out of like 50+ games. Its not a big deal.

Tinkere is dope and that perk might actually be competition to some of the meta perks now.

Franklins demise is a big meme perk and I love it.

Knockout. Hmmm in general I would say this is a perk I like to try and run vs SWF, on Myers with infectious fright. But on the other hand. ######### me this is could be cancerous for none premade groups. Slugging is already not a fun experience. But with this knockout no one can see each other. I guess we will have to wait and see

  • @Lt_R1ZE said:

Most of u on the forums complain about how survivor sided it is I get that well I saw a post where they want a meta change because they are tired of being Ds or Bt or unbreakable but if you want survivors to stop running those perks don't camp bt won't activate. Don't tunnel ds will run out and don't slug unbreakable won't work. Simple u want a meta change U change meta.

The problem is, as many have said, that while we think of ds as anti tunnel. Its just not working like that. Its working as anti-momentum. Are you doing your objective too well? Too bad ds + unbreakable is here to ruin your day. Its not only counters a sort of snowballing. But it can also destroy comebacks. Thats usually why people ######### about it.

Not everyone who hates ds hates it because they just wanna tunnel. This happens and it is the reason why a lot of people run it. But at the same time, I know that when me and my friends play together, we will usually try to "abuse" our ds. 1 person getting unhooked and another is getting downed. Ok well time for the unhooked person to go for the save since he is safe for 60 seconds where as it would be a big risk for the rest of us. This is the inherent problem with ds. Not the perk it self, but how people use it.

Yeah but with the event going on and me having all these cakes on killers I don't want to play, I just want to get rid of them with everyone at least getting BP lol.

Yeah I kind of get that. I just use it to prestige a killer/survivor, get them back to 50. Farm a million points again and repeat until prestige 3. Since you get sooo many cakes. For me its just getting as many prestige 3 or unlocking survivor perks since I havent unlocked all for them. I have destroyed like 150 cakes so far by prestiging :P.

I’m with you, someone complained yesterday that the killer should automatically farm when cakes are used... uhm that would mean no normal games for the next couple weeks that’s lame.

If you just play “normal,” you should still get a decent amount of points... as survivor I’ve been getting around 20k just from 1-2 gens, a couple decent chases and 1-2 saves a game... that turns into 120k if everyone brought cakes. I don’t wanna spend 20 minutes farming so I can get 180 instead

    Exactly. 100% agree.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1408006#Comment_1408006

Exactly thats why im trying to figure out why people think she needs a nerf again as someone who has played her i know how strong she can be but the survivors also have to misplay very very badly inorder for her to snowball heavily and thats my concern is her snowball potential again if the trend is correct she has to be the next up on the chopping block.

The only trend I am seeing is killers that are too far away from the average killer in either strength or just outdated is getting reworked. Freddy was too weak, nurse was too strong. Bubba and Billys addons was ancient, at the same time Bubba was too weak, and Billy while not over powered like nurse, is definitly on the stronger end of killers. Since add-ons and power are directly connected they probably want to have more options while at the same time giving the killer a bit more complexity. Was it the right thing to do? Only time will tell.

But honestly if anyone is next in line for changes its gonna be huntress since her addons (specifically insta downs) is kind of old school. Its not impossible for it to be hag. But if thats true its good news. Since that would imply that maps are gonna be "nerfed" again. Hopefully they are gonna hit spirit, freddy and nurse again before though to bring them closer to our other killers.

Spirit, if the survivors know when she is using her ability its gonna be a lot easier against the good spirits, maybe even give a small indicator like she is phasing in and out. But I would prefer just a proper indicator for when she is phasing.

Freddy, just tune him down. He is too easy for how much power you can get out of him. Maybe limit his pools either in time they stay or in amount of them like demo. Not too sure here, but at the very least just bring his numbers down a little. His power is basically a better clown + teleport.

Nurse. I think she should just be nerfed in how much she can do but maybe made slightly easier to get more people to play her again. Again I am not too sure how to do this. Maybe do something about her blinks but give her some m/s back or something like. Nerf her TR to make Infectious fright worse on her. Hard to say. But the few nurses I meet are goddamn insane. Its only the one tricks and the few who try her out to git gut with her. The god nurses the few there are of them demolish any team they ever meet.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/168942/this-game-is-so-survivor-sided-it-literally-makes-no-sense

You know, have you ever stopped to think maybe with all these complaints that you're the one that needs to improve a bit more? The game isn't perfect, but if you properly understand killer you're going to win the majority of the games you play.

I dont know if I would say a majority. But quite a lot of games at least. Piggy, legion and myers arent considered top tier to say the least(although myers might be mid tier) but I still have pretty damn good games on them with a ton of 4ks and very few 0-1ks.

  • Nice job. Cant speak for all. But personally I hate farming. I find so goddamn boring. If a killer tries to start farming and other survivors start doing it I just kill my self on hook, if they try to farm me I dc. I really hate playing like that :/

  • I have done this myself a bunch of times. But some common ones I seem to recall being:

Leaving me on the hook until second stage. If there has been 0 or very little progression on gens since I was hooked and we are like on gen 4 or even 5. Something like that at least. Then I just want out and play a proper match with a chance at winning.

People dive bombing hooks to "save me" from the camper. Just do gens guys, if I see a single person trying to unhook me instead of doing gens vs a facecamping Bubba im just gonna leave.

Sometimes I just suicide on first hook if I see 3 people urban evading around the map.

Sometimes I will kill myself out of spite because I got sandbagged by my team mates.

I remember the one time I try to die more than any other case. Farming games. Not games where 2 people dc and the killer feels bad and lets us farm a bunch of bloodpoints. No I mean games where the killer goes to the nearest survivor and starts hitting the gen. I will suicide on hook so fast. I ######### hate those killers. I just want normal games.

Does this make me a bad teammate? Sure. But I cant be asked to deal with people that dont wanna try and win. Win or lose doesnt matter but I only wanna play with randoms that actually try to win. If they try I will hang through 2 minutes of camping where all I got was 2k blood points. Doesnt matter I will stick in there. Just gimme something.

I dont enjoy the solo survivor experience a lot so I will just continue to search for games worth playing til I get them.

When in 4man Swf we just ######### around and have fun doing silly #########, but we still try to win. But as a solo player, no thx. Give me some actual attempts at winning.

Hey so I just really wanna know what’s up with so many killers sweating for 4k’s, and tunneling survivors who find crowns. Killers just have to find it and can just go do nothing and still get it if they really want so what’s the point in ruining the event for survivors? Running specific perks to ensure you get the 4K, tunneling anyone with the glow, camping hooks and crown spawns like I seriously don’t get it.

Hello yes. I dont know if you know this. But killers are supposed to kill 3-4 people, its their objective in this game. "Sweating for 4k" is kind of weird way of saying that they are trying to win. I cant speak to your specific case, but the glow and crowns can make you easier to see at times so in some cases they simply might be the only ones they find. Not saying this is the case, just saying its possible.

And some people just wanna be dicks. Congratulations, if you have played killer at the start of this event you would have met a ton of survivors "sweating" to escape. Now that most people have their crowns its not as difficult. Ignore it and move on to the next game, its not a bigger deal than you make of it. Just say gg and dont fall for any baits or flame he might throw your way. Its only feeding their ego.

Seriously, the new Nea skin doesnt need to be legendary! If you dont want this behavior to continue you have to treat them like children and smack their hand reaching for our wallets. Dont buy these skins to show them that we're serious

Its not a legendary tho. Its a set piece. Legendaries have a different background color to differentiate them. You can also read that only Lisa Garland is a legendary so far. The official reason they are doing set pieces more than customizable ones are that they are easier to make sure dont clip into each other. Again thats the official reason. I dont really have any reason to doubt it, but thats my oppinion.

But I agree with the sentement. Vote with your wallet. I have, by buying the skins. I like them so I will insentivise them to make more cool looking skins. Whether they are a set-piece or not is not a big deal for me.

good upgrade to it would be this, the unhooked person would see the killer aura for 4 seconds, which means that he wont run to the killer face and get tunneled to death :)

I mean yeah that could be ok, but you gotta think of it as a very selfish thing. If it doesnt benefit the person using it. He wont run it most of the time. So it might be required for both of them to see the killers aura. Maybe "see the killers aura if within 40 meters" or get a notification if within 40 meters of the killer. Something weird like that. Working like the opposite limitation of BBQ. I dunnot exactly what would be proper and not "abusable".

But something ought to be done about the perk since it is a handicap to run. A lot still run it. I think I saw stats like it being in the top 10-15 used survivor perks. Which is insane for a perk that has 0 impact on gameplay. Be kind of like Bloodhound/monster shrine or something like that being in the top 10 used killer perks.

But even that is not a perfect comparison since Bloodhound and monstrous shrine, while insanely weak, does actually do something.

  • Problem is not that many survivors run we gonna live forever because its a useless perk. Those who do run it arent sweaty tryhards, who will only run the best of the best perks. I know this goes for killer as well but at least as a killer BBQ is actually pretty damn good. If they should do anything about WGLF its to make it have some sort of actual utility in game. Like combining it with we'll make it and make one decent perk. Or show auras of totems/gens when unhooking. Kind of like Detectives hunch but on a bit more limited scale. could also give you aura reading on survivors to help find them. But not the killer. That would just be OOO bs all over again.

This would also be in line with what BBQ does, in a sense. Since doing you objective, hooking people, gives you information on how to continue doing your objectives, either protecting gens or hooking people.

As this would help do your objectives by unhooking someone, give you info on a gen you cant find or a totem thats well hidden. Or if its the survivor aura then where to go to cooperate on a gen. Its not a lot but it would be something.

  • @CrusaderNella said:

That would be awesome, but i think poor demodoggo would be left out of this idea.

Tbf Demo is a liscensed character so the amount of skins for him would always be limited. Although the Stranger things liscense has been allowed quite a few cosmetics compared to most.

  • Eh its kind of weird when you get those. I only feel bad or actually dislike the matchmaking though if I as a killer get matchmade with low ranking (and they play like it) survivors. Or as a survivor if I get matched with like a rank 16 killer and I in a swf group with mostly red/puple ranks.

You go most of the match thinking, wow this Meyers sure must run a weird build he hasnt left tier 1 yet. Ehh maybe sound is bugged and he is almost tier 3. And then you suddenly hear tier 2 with only 1 gen left. Gen speeds can be pretty damn fast. But not that fast. We just said sorry to him and bonded over cursing the matchmaking. If there is like some red rank survivors with a bit of purple or green. Vs a purple/red killer I think thats ok. Not great, but ok. But when you litterally get matched vs someone who hasnt even played for like 50 hours, and you are sitting there with all perks in the game unlocked and a few prestiged killers/survivors. Something has probably gona very wrong.

  • @Zoophage said:

Yeah, maybe that's true. Personally I've only prestiged two characters because I thought I'd get better items in the subsequent bloodwebs, but I really haven't been able to tell the difference. Maybe it's only for the bloody cosmetics? Regardless, we're definitely getting spoiled with ~100k per trial. Most games have at least 3 cakes; and a lot of have 5. Anyone do the math of the maximum you can get with 5 cakes? I'm assuming it's just 8,000*4 = 32,000 (emblem system) + 250 (crown) + 500 (crowned achievement) = 32,750*5.20 = 170,300 bloodpoints? I've only ever gotten around 150k. I guess you could also run BBQ/WGLF and increase that to 32,750*6.20 = 203,050 bloodpoints. Pretty juicy, if my DbD math is anywhere near correct.

Thats about right. I dont mind the grind in these types of games. Sometimes I wish I didnt have to grind for perks when im prestiging (I do it mostly for the completionist aspect) but I also know that otherwise it would be fairly limited what to grind for. But hey Behaviour have mentioned additional prestige rewards. I just hope there will be something for "Devotion" as well. Or like maybe blood point reward for rank reset. Those are minor things but they are still wishes.

As for the amount of rewards right now?. It feels great.....but it only feels great because we are used to something different. Maybe the blood points should be a bit higer than normally but at the same time I think its about the right amount atm. If you run BBQ or WGLF you can usually leave each game with 40-50k bloodpoints no problem. If not I guess you have some things to work on.

Atm I get over 100k each game at least. Its pretty absurd. It feels great for prestiging but at the same time after leveling up to 50 again I am stuck with like 40 cakes or something. And I dont wanna throw those away.....its an awkward feeling xD
