  • Wow. First there is that pallet stun, which shouldn't have happened, then there's the swing, which looks like it shouldn't've hit... Just wow...

The more Neon, the less respectful of a person. If there is multiple neon outfits, they're almost certainly one of those swf. You know the ones, the ones who throw a tantrum and collectively d/c if even one person goes down ever .

Frosty and Hallows eyes are NOED inbound.

The neon rule applies to legion as well. Bound to be as insulting as possible in the end game.

Anyone wearing the basic cosmetics are either gods or potatoes. There is no in-between. That default dwight is either going to run into a wall or deadhard through your swing, into a BT save, kobe off the hook, decisive you, and adrenaline out. One or the other. That poster boy trapper is either gonna step in his own traps or be so far ahead of you that everyone steps in a trap at the exact same time as he nods in the middle of the map laughing maniacally to himself.

Yeah, Neon players always think they're so good... then they die.

I haven't had many DC players, but I think I've seen more Megs DC than anyone else.

That is true. I thought a game was going to be easy only to find out they were a group of rank 2s all together. I wish you could see ranks above the survivors.

Frosty Eyes always have NOED. P3 Claudette’s with a flashlight will always BM and tea bag.

This I have noticed, especially with Clowns and Billies.

P3 Claudettes certainly think much of themselves. Makes it nice to take them down a peg.

  • It's because he is a weak killer by all standards. He is not viable for high ranks, no matter how hard I try. I would love for Legion to be able to compete with Billy, Michael and Nurse, but they just can't. Frenzy is nonlethal. Their power is the only one that can't down people no matter how good you are with it. Every other killer can use their power to down people (even clown and wraith). Legion can't. There was no way to use it to down people, except with the Franks Mixtape/Stab Wounds combo, which doesn't even work with the current kit. I like Legion's potential, but right now... they don't show it often.

frosty eyes almost always camp and tunnel

That is one I've seen too, although mostly with Clown.

  • For Survivor I use:

Spine Chill, gives good info I'd need.

Small Game, helps find totems. I could change this for Kindred if I think I'm not going to do well in the chase.

Self Care (with medkit), could be exchanged for DS (I'm not the type to dash into a locker though, so I don't think I'm toxic).

Empathy, gives good information throughout the map, and tells me where the killer is. Can be exchanged for Alert.

Funny enough, I don't like exhaustion perks, because I don't need them most of the time. I also play as a stealthy survivor, so... that may have something to do with it.

    For Killer I use:

BBQ: I like the points, and it keeps track of how many I hooked when I bring a Mori. It also allows me to know if I should stay or I should go.

Mad Grit: I get a lot of body blocking survivors, so I just run this. Could be exchanged for Agitation.

Ruin: Because games go too quickly most of the time. Can be exchanged for Lullaby or PGtW.

Whatever I feel like, be it enduring, STBFL, Brutal Strength... etc.

    Oh man, get it pronto.

I use Freddy, Plague, Clown (not as often anymore because of how rubbish I now admit he is), and life got SO MUCH BETTER once I unlocked Lightborn. Being able to mitigate one of the survivors most obnoxious defences alleviates so much stress.

Yeah, workin on it. I need to play billy more anyway. I've got his adept and stuff, but still need his perks. (Already have Enduring from the shrine).

  • It's not great, but it can be in certain situations, like the old red paintbrush Freddy, where you were slower, but had no TR.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

    Blood Warden is fine.

    No need buffs or reworks.

No, I'd disagree... It's not really a good perk at all. I tried using it the other day, but it just ended up not working because survivors always wait right at the edge so you can't pick them up when you down them.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I almost never go into matches without Lightborn now if I see a torch in the lobby. If there are 2 or more Lightborn is pretty much mandatory.

It’s so satisfying lunging at a pallet and getting a first hit in at the stun, then breaking the pallet and downing them while they think they’re being clever trying to blind you while stuck in the pallet breaking animation.

I have to unlock it first. : P

  • I would love to have this feature back. I don't know why it was removed...

  • I use Spine chill, but generally don't need Premonition because I know where the killers are most of the time.

  • If you think setting traps is too slow, just get the tool addons or iridescent stone. If you think people will disarm/sabotage, bring bloody coil/Oily coil. When people realize you have Bloody coil, then they will not disarm traps, since the cost outweighs the benefit in the immediate situation.

Try to hide traps in grass or putting them near strong loops. This will force survivors into them more often.

If you're on haddonfield, put them by the windows on the second story of houses. Makes it hard/impossible to use that window if there is no door. Especially with Iridescent stone.

If you really want to punish those who step in your traps, put on the honing stone addon, instant downs for trapping can be powerful.

Agitation helps you get people from your traps to a hook faster, giving you more time to set up traps, and you can set up traps at downed pallets if there is a place to hide it. I've always caught at least one person per game with that trick. Make them think i'm too busy for breaking pallets, then they vault over and get stuck... that's the kind of thing to work once, but that's sometimes all you need.

  • Legion needs a huge rework/buff set, to their addons and kit, but you just gave an addon with a new status effect you came up with. That is not helping at all.

I disagree with Flip Flop, but that's because I've been able to make the most of it as it is now.

Dying light is fine. It's one of the few perks that made Tombstone Myers viable (just a little bit).

I like the majority of your ideas, especially hiding totems and making them have skill checks.

You know what's really cool in DBD? Moris are.

Moris are the dumbest thing in this game.

Also the hex stuff, killer buffs, toolboxes, please.

He would nerf moris in his proposal. So it wouldn't be so bad to survivors anymore.

  • I doubt they'll make your chapter. They stopped using chapters as a concept while ago, and I doubt the creators of Silent Hill would let Behavior use Pyramid Head.

Interesting concept. I think Otherworldly passage is way too strong. You gain tokens for BL, and then can destroy a window for the rest of the trial... yeah, that will never happen. I made a killer around blocking/damaging windows, but they can only do so much because vaults are an integral part of the game.

  • Survivors are inherently just reskis of a basic template. The killer has a unique playstyle to other killers.

  • Inherently, the only things you can pay money for outright are chapters and cosmetics. You can get every perk without spending a cent (via shrine of secrets), and you are given the more powerful killers free (Nurse, Billy, Hag). You can also earn all unlicensed killers/survivors just by playing the game. Sure, you're missing out on Freddy, Micheal, Pig, and Leatherface, which is a bit much, but they aren't inherently powerful killers. (Tombstone Michael is a heck of a lot of fun though).

I tried running corrupt intervention as hag, but it hasn't been very useful. Ruin seems like an important part of her kit. Any suggestions for other perks to run? (I run PGTW, agitation, and BBQ, sometimes mad grit)

Devour Hope can be quite good, since she can be good at defending totems.

    Statement Simply isn't true.

I haven been r1 every month since release. Some games I do lose and only get 2 or 3 hooks. These games I alway make a serious mistake losing all pressure or am simply outplayed.

Playing from a disadvantage is what makes you a better player. Always playing from an advantage lacks competitive challenge. Simply saying something is unwinnable because you may be at a disadvantage will never help you improve.

Not if they don't give you many opportunities to learn. The problem isn't that they aren't very good individually (which they are), but when they are in that SWFs group, they have the advantage of coordination, so they often swap out, body block, etc. so that it makes it hard to down one person reliably.

That and Instaheals and Instablinds at pallets. It gets annoying and I'm at the point where I should just put lightborn on 24/7.

I have seen pictures of Amanda without the mask in a game model... she doesn't seem that bad looking for an ex-druggie psycho.

What specifically? The only thing I can think of is that survivors would never win a chase, but Lucid avoids that.

The lobby system as it is now would not allow for two person killers, at least not yet. That and this killer seems kind of weak, so they wouldn't be very good for high rank play.

I mean...a perk like that would be powerful for a lot of killers. People like leatherface who bumble around a map the whole time. It would have powerful implications for low terror radius killers as well. And it would combo well with perks that reduce your terror radius like monitor and abuse. It would also improve pigs default stalk and be powerful for ghostface.....until your stalk gets broken and you have a terror radius again. It would also combo really well with the obsession terror radius perk.

But, you'd be losing a perk to directly impact gen progression, help in a chase, or slow a survivor down in the long run. It'd be directly what you make of it.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

Nurse seems to be a massive pain for this does anyone have any suggestions? I can get 4 kills but, I'm always lacking in chase and if I chase too much I'll lose my gens due to lack of my presence. I havn't tried her with rare addons yet, perhaps its because I'm getting SWF most of the time, I wish there was a way to tell so I could just have a fighting chance with base 3 perks (or I'm just bad lol)

@Raven014 Thanks so much for the guide, it's really helpful

No problem. They confused me too at first. Nurse is just something you have to keep trying at. She's one of the ones that can control the game if played well. So you shouldn't worry. I'd worry about getting the weaker killer's Adepts while reset is happening.

  • Shrine of secrets can be fine, it's for those who don't want to buy a chapter but still get the perks.

    My only issue is that:

    1. Anything worth getting costs too many shards
    2. Getting shards is a pain

Other then that, I think Shrine is fine.

  • It's hard to know how old they are, because they arrive from different time periods all the time. However, we can put it into context next to survivors, who tend to be from modern times (Benedict Baker and Vigo are exceptions, of course).

Here's the ages (Relative to survivors, and my rough guesses, even if they don't physically age, they are still gaining years):

    1. Plague: 1000s of years old.
    2. It's hard to pin down the Hag's age, due to her growing up isolated from civilization. However, the waterlogged shoe infers either Native America, Africa, or Pacific Islands. If Native America, that would be the early 1800s, but if pacific islands then it could be anywhere from 1700s-1900s. Africa could even be today, it's just unknown. However, going by the map, I'm going to assume Native America. So, that would make her at least 200 years old.
    3. Huntress: From WW1, makes her around 100 years old.
    4. Nurse: I assume it's from around the post-WW1 era, due to the hard times referenced and the garb being an evolution of WW1 nurse garb. This makes her around 90 years old.
    5. The Clown was confirmed to have been born in 1932, making him 87 years old.
    6. I think Billy and Trapper are from the 1950s, but it's not clear. Around 70 years by my estimation.
    7. I think Doctor is from the 1960s, due to his affiliation to the CIA and his role as an information extractor from spies (presumably communist). This would make him at least 20 around that time, so he should be around 89-90 years old by now.
    8. I think Wraith is from the 1960s-1980s, due to his occupation and relation to the mob, but like Trapper and Billy, it is not clear.
    9. Texas Chainsaw Massacre takes place in the 70s-80s. That makes LF roughly 50-60 years old.
    10. Freddy Krueger is from the 70s, making him roughly 60 years old.
    11. Halloween takes place in the 80s, making Myers 50 years old or so.
    12. The Spirit is from Japan when it was becoming automated. This occurred around the 1990s, so I can assume she is around 30 years old.
    13. Ghostface's earliest newspaper clipping we can read is in 1993, so we can assume he was 21-30 years old at that publication. So, we can assume he is around 46-50 years old.
    14. Pig is from Saw, which takes place in the early 2000s, so around 30 years old.
    15. Legion is probably the youngest at middle 2000s, since they're still 19 years old.

There's a guide for status effects, yes, in the middle of a short novel of walls of text. SOME new players will bother to read that rather than just play the basic tutorial, but that amount of sheer writing won't be retained. They may as well go read the whole wiki, it doesn't mean they'll be able to remember everything in a match.

There is 0 harm in changing a name to something more intuitive and less commonly misconstrued.

But it already is intuitive. They recognize it's a bad status due to the screen and noise effects. They know they have put themselves at risk, or should realize they are at greater risk.

You're making it out new people sound less able to learn, which is not true. It's insulting their intelligence.

  • @LordGlint said:

You also get an icon with a broken bone for mangled, but somehow that doesnt cause you to limp more or something. Saying a status can be called LITERALLY ANYTHING, while true, is dumb. If the name of the status does not tell you what the status does, it is a bad name.

But there is literally a guide for all the status effects in the game. Although, I think you should have some indication of the effect, like extra limping, when effected. That might be neat.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/627384#Comment_627384

While yes, theres plenty of resources you can go out and check if you suspect your understanding of something is wrong...That requires you to know that the killer DOES NOT have an aura reading view of you to begin with. You have to know your understanding of something is infact wrong. If I was to call a status "imma instakill you" youd be abit surprised if it just shows you as a different color or something to the killer. Likewise, the status "exposed" which is defined as "not covered or hidden; visible" for some reason has NOTHING to do with being visible or not hidden. Just like you COULD take it upon yourself to look up the status "Imma instakill you" and just get use to the misleading name...you could also just call it something that makes sense.

Just because the dictionary disagrees with the DBD definition, doesn't mean you're right. Exposed is defined by the game's rules. If you understand that or not is up to the player. It's just adding to the experience. Besides, you get an Icon with a skull on it when exposed! How hard can it be to understand? XD

  • Again, I think you should not get rid of any animations (waste not want not), but having multiple moris for killers would be nice.

  • Bait.

Survivors do the same when a Killer has a good idea.

Survivors do have the power position. They control the game, since the killers have to punish survivor mistakes.

We want fun games, ones with mindgames, trickery and deceit. However, we do not want games where survivors get everything done in 4 minutes, and every injured survivor gets adrenaline. It's frustrating when the doors are open before we can get to them, then they complain when we use NOED.

    It sucks...

  • I would actually like to see a maskless Legion cosmetic set for each of them, but I doubt that'll happen.

On console, I wish there was an option to turn the models of both survivors and killers in the menu. It's impossible to get a good look at the cosmetics in any way because of that.

  • Ace, Nea, Meg, Kate, and Jeff.

The first two are for the noise component. They are very quiet, especially Ace. There are times when I would've been found with other survivors but not with Ace, same with tracking Aces as killer. It's just harder to hear him. Kate can be quiet when uninjured, but not when injured.

I just like the last three's cosmetics. Jeff is the loudest survivor (next to Ash), so I run him with a looping build.

i was thinking that too. the same way there’s billy and leatherface, ghostface and myers etc.

and yeah sam is definetely the best out of all the girls. i find all the rest so bitchy and whiny

No, nonono... not like Myers and GF. They have their own setups and playstyles. You cannot compare the two of them.

Sam just is the one I liked the best when it comes to personality and looks.

  • Small Game or Spine Chill. I'm confident in my ability to loop, but I prefer to be stealthy and not have to deal with totems/traps. Both are very useful in what info they give you.

  • I think the numbers are a bit much for it... but I'm game for something to buff hex perks.

I really like @SpaceCoconut's idea too.

  • I think killers should have multiple mori animations, and I think both Trapper normal mori and this idea works. Maybe there's a condition that you have to have a trap on hand for this one to be used...

  • Sam would be a good survivor... She's got the skills needed. : )

unfortunately, yes, Hag is somewhat based on the Wendigo. Doesn't mean there can't be more, though.

This is especially apparent for killers with low mobility and no way to teleport sprint or move across a large map to effectively protect gens. Perks like NoED and Ruin and some others help relieve the fact that you can't be as present as say a nurse or spirit or billy or even legion.

They should have a perk that increases your speed if survivors are outside of your terror radius!

Maybe that's a buff for whispers.

  • @mxlv80 Interesting concept, but I see that as weaker. And weaker killers are not viable.

Games would be way faster when only collecting pages. I have them as a secondary objective to give the survivors a reason to not gen rush.

It would be a bit of a problem for that build to actually catch survivors, since he has to rely on a pseudo stealth gameplay when he is not designed for such.

Mine does have him not able to attack immediately, however, gen progress is very slow due to it. So the survivors have to make a choice: Do I want to bear through the gen progress, or do I get the pages to allow me to go faster, while being at greater risk. Which objective do you do?

My version's gameplay also starts off differently. It's better for him if you go around placing pages at the start, but when people start collecting them, then he can snowball.

  • I disagree that it needs to be changed. You are always vulnerable in the game. Exposed is a perfectly good word for it. You are Exposed to instant death. I figured that out pretty quickly after first starting. Simplifying it removes what little knowledge you need to understand the game. Dumbing it down, as it were. In this I agree with @Roobnus.

However, I kind of agree with @HazeHound about not needing to know where the effect came from.

However, when it comes to the new effect, I think it should only be noticeable if you're in the killers' terror radius. You still get the icon, but not the screen effect.

I know I don't share a common opinion on this thread, but there you go.

  • Yeah, Gatekeeper is controlled by the survivors for the most part. You can have one emblem as gold and still get adept.

Here's a guide to the emblems: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Emblems if you're unsure.

  • Hex Ruin is only a mainstay perk because gens get done ridiculously fast. at higher ranks. You can either push through or look for the perk. You can also bring Small Game to help you find the totem if you suspect there are going to be Hex Perks.

BBQ helps with BP and map awareness. You don't need it, but it does give you info that can inform your next desicions as killer.

Nurse's is good for finding survivors who insist on healing near you. I don't use it so much because they just don't heal near me much, but 28 m. is a lot farther than you'd think.

Last I checked, Surveillance is not a meta perk. It can be useful, but I find it really only works well with Pop Goes the Weasel, which I would consider a meta perk for high rank play.

I would love to see more viable perks, such as, I don't know, Save the Best for Last, or Franklin's Demise come into play. However, I think most survivors don't like seeing those. They like to be able to counter killer perks like NOED and Hex Ruin.

  • Why? It's a funny meme. XD

Adrenaline rewards you for doing your job, not failing it

easy counter-don’t let survivors finish the gens

    killer main btw

NOED Rewards you for keeping unlit totems, or for survivors failing to get all totems.

It's frustrating to go against all Adrenaline survivors when you're doing well. It completely stops the snowball effect killers benefit from.

Sometimes you as a killer are not in a position to stop all the gens.

  • I hope so, since the cutscenes they've made before are all gorgeous, and it shows they have talent hidden away that they don't use for most things.
