I feel like linking game accounts wouldn't do much because you can play anonymously and blocking players in game is dependant on you meeting them in game. You also can't block blokes easily here, but that's beyond the point. Game stats, however, would be incredibly funny for the strict purpose of seeing who says "I play both roles" when they mean "I played a bit of Huntress for a collective amount of 20 hours over the past 3 years" and also so when I say you shouldn't use WoO people can see I don't use WoO.
If trolls get banned relatively quickly, they'll be dissuaded from making new accounts, resulting in less throwaways. It also results in all 4 guys on the forum who post "do not the troll" posting that less.
Blocking players in game does not prevent you from being matched with them - it prevents them from adding you as a friend, unless I'm mistaken.

Still no clue why downvoting was even brought back. Its just a way to quickly disagree with a statement without explaining your stance. Stupid feature and its entire purpose pr much is to ragebait basically.
Downvoting a post buries the topic.

that's not the "biggest" problem. the real issue is that the hordes of casuals blindly believe their clickbait titles because they leave the game open AFK all night long and then brag that they have 10K+ hours and play both sides
Please refrain from posting divisive nonsense/talking down to others and stay on topic.
-
Wild how the same old bitter people keep making the same old bitter posts, existing only to talk down to others and sow dissent.
Gotta admire the commitment to the bit, though I never expected so many mask-off moments in a Clown thread.

According to them, everything is planned months to a year in advance. Do I buy that? Ehhhh… But I do think they have a plan this time. Unfortunately I also think it's probably not great, which is fair given their track record, and now they're too afraid of how phase 1 went down to properly implement it. So I'm thinking they'll either scrap it entirely, or we'll get some watered down version of it that is like "it's better than nothing, I guess?".
Who knows?
I figured we'd have had more communication by now so that people could figure out potential problems or improvements, speculate on its success, etc.
-
Maybe they don't have anything planned yet and are going to wing it at the last second.

My last quest is stuck on 14/15 trials completed.

Mass downvotes prevent topics from getting bumped. Its pretty annoying when actual conversation happens.
That's a shame.
Certainly makes it harder for anyone to provide input or their own solutions/perspective.
-
Is this topic 'buried?'
It doesn't seem to move to the top when anyone posts anything new.
-
My abandons seem to register as kills.
-
Not your best work.
This has happened in the past as previously mentioned and resulted in Killer buffs as the game is asymmetrical.
I do find it weird that they just scrapped the anti-slug version of Chaos Shuffle and have yet to release any info on Phase 2, though.

“Heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says, "Treatment is simple. Someone is queueing as The Clown tonight. Go and body them for a quick ego boost. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says, "But doctor...I am queueing as The Clown."
-
My concern is that reduced hindered/intoxication time will lead to way more successful fast vaults against Clown.
Shutting these down was a huge part of his current power level.

This happens every-time a new licensed killer comes to DBD though. Some people have no clue what DBD is, so within that two weeks, people may be hearing about it or finding out that FNAF has joined DBD and are trying it out. If you never played a game before and that game has an event, it would not entice you to play that game. This event didn’t just bring in all these new players out of nowhere. Am I saying this event has nothing to do with older DBD players coming back to play? No. Just that FNAF is the main reason why there are more players. It has a huge fan base. That’s like if they brought in a new Taylor Swift skin for Fortnite. Swifties would play the game immediately without ever wanting to play it before, simply because you can play as Taylor.
That still means the event has been the most successful one so far.
Either way you spin it, it's broken all previous records.

did you read everything on this post? FNAF is the reason why more people started playing. It has nothing to do with this event.
The killer was released two weeks ago.
All time player high was 3 days ago...and that's just from Steam.
Whether they're new players or veterans, more people are showing up to this event than ever before.
Peak for today alone was over 100k concurrent on Steam alone.
That's millions of players across all platforms, most likely.
People are clearly logging in to play at record numbers.
It will probably go down during the week, per usual.

The event has been wildly successful.

No, it's not. Just because it doesn't mention that Hiding in Lockers prevents survivors auras from being revealed, doesn't mean that every thing I said about it is wrong. It only Reveals aura of every survivor outside of 40m of the killer when they hook someone, it can be prevented by hiding in lockers or being within that 40m distance, and it absolutely does NOT give survivors a notification when it activates!
Enlighten me… Where is my description wrong?
"Nothing like giving the killer Aura read on everyone not hiding in a locker or within 40m of the killer when they're hooking an ally."
I took that as not in a locker OR within 40m, not 'not in a locker or not within 40m.'
I get the way you worded now after a 2nd read :)

Survivors have to deal with a lot when it comes to specific killers, so it's not hard to understand why so many people create tier lists of "Most Hated" for the killers themselves, but the Perks can go on any killer. So I ask you, the community, what Killer perks do you find the Most annoying, broken, and unfair feeling? Please elaborate why if you feel up to it.
To start us off, Here's what I "suspect" would take the top 5, but I may be wrong:
Franklin's Demise: Despite being easily countered by dropping your item before chase and picking it up later, It throws a wrench into many survivor builds, and strategies simply by existing as a constant threat to Item usefulness.
Hex: Devour Hope: Easily Destroyed and a non-issue… but only if you find it early. If not, once built up it can turn a winning game into a full team loss very quickly. Its much worse on high mobility killers, and when paired with Aura perks and Unbreakable, it becomes oppressive as hell by mid game.
Hex: No One Escapes Death: Nothing quite as damaging to a good game that seems like its gonna be a flat out win like the sudden reveal of this perk activating. Feels like a crutch that rewards killers for playing poorly by giving them a haste and insta-down edge in the last moments of the match that can transform a team win into an aggravating loss almost instantly. Despite the changes it's gone through over the years, it's still very strong even against a coordinated team.
BBQ & Chili: Nothing like giving the killer Aura read on everyone not hiding in a locker or within 40m of the killer when they're hooking an ally. It gives no notification that it's being used against you, and on High mobility or Teleporting Killers, it gives them a target that they can reach in no time, causing constant pressure, and with very few counters.
Hex: Plaything: Hmm, so I either go the whole game with no Terror Radius warning, or I go out of my way to waste my time finding/cleansing my totem, only to get hit with Pentimento next, forcing me to go cleanse again… Thank god they nerfed Pentimento, but even without it, Plaything is a definitive pain to deal with.
I probably got a few wrong here, so feel free to correct me, and offer up your most hated alternatives, that you feel deserve to be in the top 5!
Your description of BBQ is a bit wrong.

They tried to be subtle in your games and failed miserably. I got blatant cheaters who want to ruin games. 1 cheater decided it was hilarious to keep the game hostage until I had enough, ate the DC penalty and uninstalled. This game is garbage.
Sorry to hear that :(
I've got 4k hours and it has NEVER been as bad as I've seen this week.

This is one of the new challenges that came out today
Yes, you are reading that correctly, as far as I can tell this isn't a bug, BHVR genuinely wants you to get 800 seconds of aura reading
What's really funny is that this doesn't even give you a full rift tier, only like 75 fragments
Weeklies should give you a full tier rift.

Nice to see we're getting some challenges that push you to bring different perks/addons, at least.
This one seems like the effort/reward ratio is skewed though, lol. I've not gone and looked at the rest myself yet.
The easiest ways to get it are probably Wraith/Pig aura add-ons or bleeding people out with Deerstalker.

That was the case back in 2019. Since then, their methods of detecting have been updated and improved.
Depending on if they allow the link, as it is their own website, but I am assuming a mod might check it for validity first: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408586278676-How-to-report-a-player
This exact page USED to say that video evidence was required for hacking, and would actually give you an entire form to fill in, where you had to supply the name, the profile of the offender, whether you reported them in game or not(they dont neccesarily need that nowadays, as they can check who has had that name in your personal match history, it would just take more time to find them), what time the game happened, what date, what they did, etc. Nowadays that form is just asking for your cloud ID and preferably the profile link of the offender if possible.
Side-note: I still wish they would add a thumbs down button as an option too, because right now unsportsmanlike is the best way to describe certain behaviour (like slugging and then slug camping you for 4 minutes, not bannable, but I need a frustration button so I wont take it into the next game).
But yeah, I've reported some through the support system without video evidence and I know they got banned because they told me I actually got them banned. I wont say what they were doing in the game that I think got them caught, because information, but it does work, even though if it doesnt feel like it.
That is purely them being forced to withold information, because they dont know if you are associated with someone or not. I even send them a profile of someone who has told me that he has friends who use third party software to streamsnipe. I wont share what he shared with me, because again, info, but I am 100% certain that his friends are being watched right now. I know I wont hear back from it, because once again, I could be a mole trying to get information on them on who they caught. But I will also be fairly certain that the person who told me might come back and tell me about it, and depending on what they say, I might send that information too.
Video evidence when possible is always preferable. If you can, try to die early on and spectate the offender as that gives the most visual information when sending video evidence. But it is not needed to get them banned, just to speed up the process. If a moderator can clarify, that would be great.

Nah. You still get the RF at the same'ish rate. I just got 65 for two milestonea
I got 135 in my first game and I'm concerned.
I can see how the challenges/milestones are going to progress (also, are the milestones just one and dones forever…ie do they come back next rift after completion?).

You do not have to provide video evidence of cheating. Any player recieving enough reports from individual reliable players will still get investigated more strictly and often will lead to a ban regardless of video evidence. However reliable is specifically determined internally should remain a secret, but generally you can assume people who report less are more reliable than people who report more, people who are found correct will be more reliable than people who are found to be wrong and people who played for a longer time will be more reliable than players who played a shorter time.
Video evidence will always be the second fastest way.
What? Second fastest? Then what would the fastest be? Believe it or not. Anti-cheat. Anti-cheat practically always has detected cheaters long before you even noticed them. They are often flagged and placed on a list, then get banned with the next banwave.
And bans have to happen in waves, because if you autoban people, you give information. Remember the false bans on streams? That was due to cheaters actively trying to find out how they were getting banned, got themselves banned 100+ times untill they realized someone with authority to ban was watching streams, then they tried finding a way to get other people who stream banned and succesfully did so.
You do not want to give them any information on how they were caught. Which is why you almost never hear about people having been banned other than yearly statistics. And even those statistics might not be 100% accurate since giving a slightly false number (lets say 9900 instead of 9932 because those 32 extra will be banned next time they log in).
There probably are some autobans in place to prevent people using ancient cheats, but cheating prevention is difficult unless you use Kernel level anti-cheat. And you dont want kernel level anti-cheat. Some of those are so strict that it might get you banned because you used a mod for a different single player game (also, pretty sure steam is against it). On one hand, kernel level anticheat would literally make it impossible for 99.9% of current cheaters to play. But its in exchange for effectively having a security cam looking at your PC and you dont know what it is looking up about you.I believe it has been explicitly stated that video evidence is REQUIRED for review and that reports without it are inactionable for in-game offenses.
If this is not the case, please provide a source, as there are numerous searchable topics stating otherwise.
