  • Not everything is about you - I'm pretty certain that the general consensus is hanging on the hook =/= fun.

You're  a "player," not multiple "players."

Anyways, it's sad to see another thread become:

  • Anyone criticizing your character choice/build are just grasping at straws/baiting.

If you really want to test it, burn some map offerings if you have them and record the DC's/5 Games.

If you think I don't have fun watching a killer camp me after I loop them for 3-5 gens and settle just for 1k most times i guess I don't know what fun is... knowing that most killers fall for the same stupid mind games and get salty over the same crap I do brings me joy.... if there was more for me to do as a survivor I would be less focused on ruining someone's game but until I have more to do .. i'll enjoy watching the salt trail left by the killer from them patrolling my hook at the end of the match
    I'm sorry.

Your idea of fun does not mesh with that of other players, so your entirely personal feelings and reactions are somehow wrong.

  • 1. Yes

    2. Yes

    3. Apparently my copy is the only copy of the game that allows for scenarios where it's 100% advantageous, if not necessary, to camp someone out of the game.

    4. Most people in PVP games don't like being placed in difficult / losing scenarios, but it's necessary by the very nature of the game rules. If you can't handle a game's win/loss routine, don't play it.

    5. The killer has no knowledge of the prior game's events.

    6. I think that people play whatever role they want for their own amusement,  and that fun, much like opinion, is subjective to the individual. I highly doubt that a killer being looped successfully is experiencing the same level of entertainment/excitement as the looper, much like a survivor getting mori'ed is probably on the opposite end of the emotional spectrum to the person getting a kill.

Both sides having fun, regardless of success, strategy, and gametime is entirely possible, and would probably occur far more often if both sides left their sense of entitlement and feelings/ego at the door.

  • Pretty sure this is DOA given the lack of any updates ;(
  • Play My Way (The "Right" Way) or Lose Automatically - Patch Title

Any suggestion that tries to shoehorn people into playing a certain way/only use certain perks/don't do x on either side of the game is not going to help the game with its core issues.
  • I'm almost 100% certain that someone sniped them all at this point.

May I remind you that we're on THE OFFICIAL FORUMS?

  • They are referring to Deep Wounds replacing the old Enduring timer.

I remember. I said it wasn't going to be a big deal because you typically got a second hit on the person before they bled out anyway, and it wouldn't have an effect on end game BT saves. I nailed it.

I get 1-2 Borrowed Time users every game.

I don't know if I'm just not as good as some other killers, but there were definitely a lot of scenarios under the old BT wherein survivors could have extended the chase had they not went down.

The new BT just forces me to tunnel the rescued survivor into a camp-out once BT is activated ( -1 min + 1 other Survivor [BT rescuer] is most likely not on a gen at the time of rehook / will be lurking around for the unhook) instead of having the luxury of going after the BT user and relying on the bleedout timer to occupy the unhooked survivor/multiple survivors for a bit.

BT user gets an auto-camp (-2 min, max of two other survivors left) on discovery, especially if the team is organized enough to lead chases back towards the hook in order to score an unhook on the outskirts of my terror radius (it doesn't happen super often, and is good play/teamwork imo, but makes me >:3 ).

It's still super easy to rank up and pull in 20k+ BP, but I ignore these as measures of success in favor of kill count.

  • The first step in reporting correctly involves making sure you only report for actual offenses instead of wasting time with false reports.

I'd give it a few weeks while they try and fix the Unreal Engine stuff and they'll probably darken that stuff some. The real fix for Freddy will be his full rework since that'll get looked at pretty well.

I hope I'm still alive whenever that rework happens.
  • The Freddy vision outline now makes it way harder to see people now instead of helping...If you get a corn map, you may as well afk, haha

  • If I get blown up end game, I'll usually try to have a laugh about it post game or congratulate them on the effort.

I genuinely play pretty hard, can be scummy, etc in-game, but an escape is an escape and a kill is a kill, so I'm more than happy to acknowledge either :3

  • @Raccoon i didnt mean to upset you so much, that memes picture say it all, your hurt by my words just look at that face

  • @Raccoon i know how i play and thats all, i see how much easier it is to be killer then survivor, you dont agree thats fine but your not convincing me, i gave my points and most of you disagreed, some of you gave your reasons and i respect that, others didnt offer anything besides a slight jab that i was wrong your opinions dont mean much at all.

  • I agree.

I mean, stealth is the best way for survivors to remain undetected, and it's not like that was majorly buffed + a perk was released to counter all meta killer aura reading perks.

    Oh wait.

You seem to be arguing various points without any concrete understanding of the meta, various game nuances, items, perks, etc.

  • I don't really mind.

They'll be swiftly camped/tunneled out of my game once found, afterwards normal gameplay will resume.

I usually run FD as of late, so it usually just results in them forfeiting their items, fun, and blood points.

  • The ones complaining about camping saying it's not a strategy are the same ones pallet looping and running DS...😑😑
    They're all valid options.
  • Who cares?

@purebalance is more than entitled to their opinion, like every user on this forum.

If you start to confuse opinions and feelings with facts, that's where most issues arise.

I'll do something better than running in a straight line! I just won't move at all! :)

So if someone 1000x stronger than you was chasing you in real life you'd run at them? A swing/stab should hit when you run into a killer's hitbox. It's abuse of mechanics. Learn to evade without using broken mechanics. One of the times I DO camp is when shitters want to 360. They deserve a ######### playstyle used on them as well.

    @purebalance
Do i really need to tell u the difference between games and real life?
If you wanna be that realistic then tell me why survivors can't jump over traps.
U get rekt by 360s and instead of getting better at this game you rather complain about them and call them trash tactics.

Replace "360s" with "camping," and we can ride this irony train straight to Emerald Ranch!

Hence the only time I camp is when people 360. I expect killers to camp when someone uses it.

    You can 360/not 360, teabag/not teabag, camp/not camp to your heart's content.

The advice being given to @purebalance by @Vietfox regarding 360s can apply, verbatim, to any "heated" mechanic, including the one that they themselves are complaining about in this very topic.

Edit - @powerbats - You typed that reply super fast, haha. I'm a little impressed.

    You go guys <3

Weird since the devs disagree. -percent to chaser emblem says hi.

The percentage is literally so low that it will never be a deterrent and rarely does the penalty continuously proc during the camp due to survivor proximity.

This mechanic was most likely added as a weak attempt to placate people such as yourself, but to be very clear, it has zero bearing on 99% of games played, with the emblem generally receiving 5-9% degradation after a 4 man campout.

The emblem degradation percentage after each game was also shown in my previously mentioned topic, so anyone that saw the pics or have tried this out themselves can certainly vouch for the validity of these claims.

Without changing the core mechanics, this will probably be all the Devs do to discourage camping, and I think anyone that camps will certainly be fine with their .05/4 total progression penalty.

The Devs really put the grind to camping.

    Got 'em

    Does getting camped suck? Yes.
Will this prevent people from finding success in doing so? No.

Does wrecking a team and having someone jump in the hatch or try to force a standoff suck? Yes.
Will this prevent people from finding success in doing so? No.

You can think or feel whatever you want about these mechanics, but all signs point to them NEVER going anywhere, at least for the foreseeable future.
    - Hatch situation: killer got 3K (totally a win)
If killer wants to get 4K just needs to slug.
    - Camp situation: survivor dies (not a win)
Any decent killer can catch a good survivor (sooner or later), hook them and camp them. That survivor has little/zero chances of surviving.

    No, they are not comparable.
Unless you're facing The Mythical God Squad, camping a survivor out of the game within the first 4 minutes (catch within first 2 minutes), regardless of how you choose to play afterwards, more or less secures both an easy game and a "win," regardless of whether you define a win through kills, BP, or
emblems. If they were running BT/SB/DH or DS, the benefit is even greater.

    Camping. Playstyle.

    ...

    Lel

As I mentioned earlier, a topic was created with images of multiple games in a row (Rank 6-4/3 progression iirc) showing that you can coast your way to decent BP and results, at least in the top ranks, by camping.

You can call it whatever you want, but it is so easy to find success with it, it's almost laughable.

  • "Remove hatch"
Haha, you're not entitled to that 4th kill. Work for it and get good.

    "I'm camping"
Omg, it's ruining my game and I deserve to be saved.

In both scenarios, the only thing you're actually entitled to is spawning into the map at the start of the trial.

  • You can camp if and when you want to.

"Oh, but it doesn't work at high ranks and you'll only get like 10k."

Except I had a topic where I posted a bunch of games (in a row) camping vs SWF throughout the red ranks wherein my score generally ended up being at least 20k consistently.

It's too bad it got shut down and all the images deleted :D
