Dude, it already stops the Killer shack loop and specific annoying loops like at Wretched Shop. It even mitigates that horrible loop spot in Coldwind Farms maps, it depends on if that spot is next to another pallet or window.

I don't know what more you want.

I do not know, look at barn on Farm maps, there are 2 windows near each other, so basically you can waste whole game trying to catch a surv there. If Bamboozle could block 2 windows at the same time, the infinities would be "balanced".

  • The Game is the best map in the game. Instead of changing it, I would focus on actually bad maps like Swamp, or Farm.

  • What? Isn't being looped for the whole game a disadvantage?

Any ideas for a new ranking system? It seems like the higher of rank I climb, the worst team mates I get along with camping and tunneling killers. I’d expect to see it with the lower ranks but not the high ranks. It’s so hard to get a pip when it’s like this.

    camping and tunneling killers

Go play killer if you think it is easy, really.

And for the topic - it is hard, because survivors are smurfing at low ranks, as well as part of the killers. Devs should make seasonal rewards for ranks, and all the people will be tryharding to get upper.

Also, since 2.0, ranking for the survivors is a lot easier than for killers, as always.

  • It would make the game unplayable. Instead of nerfing already weaker part of players, maybe instead we should focus on balancing the game?

There are players who report after EVERY match when they lose. They do so because theres no consequences for it, and they think that simply stacking up numbers of reports on someone will have an effect, like it does on xbox live.

This, apparently, has resulted in BHVR getting rid of their report handler, since they clearly no longer even look at the reports anymore, thus theres speedhackers everywhere and 2-3 month old reported videos dont have a single new view.

The solution, is to crack down on the salties, you know... the ones causing the problem... instead of giving up and abandoning the entire thing.

    Right?

The in-game reporting is not working, it is a placebo, so who cares if a bunch of little, whining survivors report you? It will do nothing.

    Getting to LVL 100?

You should get lots of auric cells and a nice exclusive skin and some BP

It would take forever to get to devotion level 1 (100)

One of the most irritating things of DbD is the lack of rewards for playing lots.

There's no extra incentive or fun swing aspect to play lots.

Prestige a character? offer a small reward aside from bloody skins
Ranked X for this season? offer a reward!

Hitting PLayer Account level 25, 50, 75 and most importantly 100?

    Offer nice rewards.

For hitting Devotion 1 (level 100 on player account)

    -100k bloodpoints
    -exclusive skin for X killer/character
    -500 auric cells

That would feel nice. Getting all that. Keep in mind it takes A LOT of play time to get to this level, so the reward should be nice.

So you are suggesting to make an exclusive skin that would be very common in a season or two (cause there's lots of players who spend at least a hundred hours a month playing DBD) that will be a pain in the ass to get for someone who loves DBD but can't spend much time on it even if they had hundreds of hours before? Yeah, that's a terrible idea

No, it is not terrible. In every game you have a reward for playing the game, but not in DbD. If you love the game, as you say, you would get this reward sooner or later.

This game needs some sort of rewarding players for devotion level as well as for ranks - to encourage playing.

  • Swamp and Farm are worst, believe me.

Survivor balance is in a pickle, no ALL balance is in a pickle right now. Lots of people say looping, camping, etc. are really big problems...but why aren't they being tackled?

Here’s why; SWF. SWF throws balance out the window, not only does it make survivors strong....but the main core problem......now 3 sides need to be balanced, but 2 are tied together. As it currently is,with states including SWF matches saying that survivors survive rate is 50%-ish...that’s really bad. As we know SWF is much stronger than solo, that means, by logic, that SWF has roughly a 70-80% survive rate, while solo has only about 30%.

How do we fix this? Well it’s near impossible. But the only way to fix this would be to make solo survivors have much more communication, and with the 3 sides becoming 2 again, be able to nerf survivors with out making solo queue a death sentence.

The reason why this hasn’t occurred...the developers don’t want to break “immersion”. But I think it needs to happen. We literally can achieve balance unless Solo is the same strength as SWF. That’s the only way to then balance killer vs. survivor.

All in all, immersion shouldn’t cost balance and elbow drop it in the jaw. It’s a price to pay, but survivors that are solo should have a voice chat (SURVIVOR ONLY; NOT PROXIMITY OR HEARABLE BY KILLER LIKE IN F13)

With that, solo would be of similar strength to SWF making solo overpowered just like it. Next killer and survivors could be balanced without making solo queue trash.

As of now, nerfing survivors would make SWF more fair, but solo would be ruined. Buffing solo would make SWF even more broken. So solo must be made of equal strength, so both can be nerfed or buffed without messing up the other.

The developers claim they want a 50% death/survival rate of all games. This is the only way to do it.

If solo continues to be without comms, one part of survival (Solo or SWF) will ALWAYS be unbalanced. A game mode separation would split the player base, and the game wouldn’t be able to handle that, so casual and ranked simply wouldn’t work. This is quite possibly the only way

    I know, it’s sad...but it’s too true to deny.

    @RSB said:
Everyone knows, that SWF is not fair. Thanks to their coordination and voice chats, they gain the benefits of several aura reading perks, they can coordinate which perks they bring, they can set their roles (gen-rusher, looper), etc.

Dear devs, you know, and I know it. But what can you do? Deleting it would irritate survivors, which would end up in the drop of the playerbase and your earnings, which are important. Without them you cannot develop this game.
So, deleting it would irritate them, nerfing it probably too. So what now?

    This is my idea:

Split the game into two gamemodes.

    1) 1 versus 4, 5 generators - The same as it is now, BUT without SWF. What does it mean? It means that ONLY solo survivors can join to the lobby of the killer. They cannot be in SWF

    2) 2 versus 6, 9 generators - Yes, 2vs6. "Fight fire with fire", as they say. Let the killer play with his friend in KWF mode (Kill With Friend). In this mode, 2 killers join to the first lobby (the same lobby as SWF has), then they click "Ready" and create the proper lobby, where survivors can join. It would be the only lobby where survivors could play in SWF, and it would be OPTIONAL for solo survivors to join this lobby as well (just and option, in Settings, or in the main menu, which enables the solo survivor to play in 2vs6 lobby). Then, you could limit the teammates in SWF to 3, so there would be maximum of 2 teams of SWF in one lobby (but this is optional).

    What are your thoughts?

    Yes, it is.

No. Not really. They are only weak because they can be found easily.

I've seen suggestions where killers get to place the hex totem. (dull totems are still randomized)

Takes a lot of work out of trying to code proper hidden placement which will inevitably sometimes fail.

At the first look it is a nice concept, but then you will still have one mediocre killer perk which can be destroyed, versus 4 survivors' perks, that are way better and can't be destroyed.

Hex perks aren’t mediocre effect wise. Yeah they get destroyed easy, but the actual effect is strong

The only "strong" hexes are Ruin and Devour Hope, but they are not strong, because they are destroyed under one minute from the start of the game. NOED is meh, it should not be hex, and the rest perks are just trash, I do not know why they are hexes anyway. With this logic even Bitter Murmur, or Territorial Imperative should be hexes as well.

If you read any of the posts I made you’d know otherwise. I, many times have advocated killer buffs, gave ideas, etc. but simply because I don’t align with your painful bias, I’m automatically a bad guy. No, I don’t want to “buff overpowered survivors” I want to make all perks useful, but in general I think SWF should be nerfed. But if survivors are nerfed, then solo queue would die. I made a solution to this, you can read it under my balance thread.

Yyyhhh, no, I do not want to read it, I've made a topic about it too. And my painful bias? Nice, you know more about me than I know. I play 50/50, but as you wish.

It’s not easier, even with 2 ways, and you also missed the point.

It is, really. Also remember, that for whole 4 tokens, killer needs to hook ALL survivors, but survivor can farm 4 tokens even from one, other survivor. Unhooking and bodyblocking is easier, than catching the 4 loopers.

How often do you use WGLF? What about BBQ? If you really want points, you should use them equally, I bet you don’t, if you don’t, then that right there shows there’s a problem. Also, I get all 4 stacks of BBQ basically every game. WGLF not even CLOSE. All survivors have to compete, you can simply body block or unhook instantly, as you’ll kill the team or yourself. You are basically saying WGLF should stay trash because a coordinated SWF can body block well. Solo players exist, and a POINT perk, shouldn’t even be considered to be balanced around SWF

And I have WGLF in my usual survivor's perk build with BT, SB and SC. It is quite effective and very rewarding build. I get 4 tokens almost everytime (I don't if I die too soon), but with BBQ I almost never got 4 tokens, because when I manage to catch and kill my first 1-2 survivors, they often have the doors opened and are tbagging me at the gates.

Is you have 2 people COMPLETELY KILLED, and the other 2 NOT EVEN TOUCHED... then I can definitely see why you don’t get stacks. If you camp or tunnel, of course you won’t get any. At rank 1 killer I average in between 3-4 kills, and always got 4 stacks. So you should technically too. Unless you use Freddy, he’s ass and needs a huge rework.

The thing is you won't kill all 4 survivors at high ranks without tunneling, when you do not use Nurse (which I'm bored of).

The Survivor that uses WGLF basically handicaps themselves into a 3 perk build.

This is not true for a Killer running BBQ.

Devs seem to think its easier to get stacks on WGLF than BBQ and I have no idea why.

They seem to be forgetting that once the Survivor is dead the perk no longer gains bloodpoints - the Killer is in the game for the full match and only has to hook, NOT EVEN KILL.

Running half the game for the one survivor is harder, than sandbagging/bodyblocking, sorry. That's why BBQ has additional effect, and WGLF has 2 CONDIDIONS (unhooking/bodyblocking) to gain tokens.

While I don't agree with the op I've got to ask, now who's biased? If you took out all the SWF groups you'd have a lot less reason to complain. As for camping it's been addressed and sadly the devs need to make it a popup when you load the game that camping and looping are legit strategies.

"if you took all the SWF groups"

Really? This is exactly the same thing saying "If you took all the killers from game, you'd have less reasons to complain". They ARE in this game, so what is your point?

Rofl that was pretty weak to try that, since most of the killers complaints at high ranks center around SWF groups. So it's not exactly the same thing since the same, the same would be if you took all survivors out of the game then killers wouldn't have anything to complain about. Well other than the fact there'd be no one to play with.

Lastly you could take out SWF groups and yet you'd still have survivors for killers to face so it's most definitely not exactly the same. They'd be solo queue only but still be survivors to play with.

This is still irrational argument, because SWF IS in game. So why I should not complain about it? "Imagine there is no SWF - NOW SEE HOW THE GAME IS EASY FOR KILLER HAHA". The thing is SWF IS in game, and it is going nowhere.

Yet that's not what you said, you said ** "Really? This is exactly the same thing saying "If you took all the killers from game, you'd have less reasons to complain". They ARE in this game, so what is your point? "**

Now you're changing your argument around since I pointed out how illogical that comment was. By the logic of your last post you shouldn't complain about anything because it's in the game. So since you know SWF is in the game and according to you it's not going anywhere you shouldn't complain.

So again if SWF was removed from ranked or adjusted you'd still find something to complain about just because it's in the game. Now how is that any different than the op's original complaint? You're whining about SWF while he's whining about camping. Both are part of the game yet you're applying a double standard.

    Then read again.

I did kill someone, but it was because only 1 survivor cared about unhooking (and while I was really near, to make me busy) - the 2 others just sit on gens for the whole game and didn't care about anything at all.

While we're at it: where's my 4% chance upon hooking that someone skips a hook stage?

It's not that much about the balance, I just wonder why killers don't have any gimmick like these. A built-in permanent Blood Warden for the last survivor alive would be as fair as the idea of the hatch.

*without doctor/hex totem/etc debuffs.. [no great skill checks, if you do GOOD you stay hooked&alive.. if you fail it, you die, 10% chance to spawn a skill check per second or one skill check every XX seconds)

Go play killer, you biased survivor, make it to the ranks ~5 and you will be back here, ashamed that you did a shitpost like this.

  • Or tie survivors' perks to the totems as well, it would be fair. If they cleanse it, one of their perks dissapears.

Yeah, and when a survivor gets hit by the gas they get sacrificed instantly.

Or better, they should be slowed a little bit and that's it.

    Oh, wait.

Or you could just let them have the hatch.
why should they DC for you?

Because they lost, not him. They are weak (even when playing the easy mode aka survivor) not him.
