I know the dev stream back a little while said they aren't kept together but alluded towards the possibility they can in fact reach one another on occasion.

Where are they? What do they do while they're there? How long is it between trials, or is there no "time" between trials because "time is relative in the Fog" yadda yadda?

In the Community House for Elderly Killers, of course!

There they can play bridge, drink their favourite tea, relax at the terrace with a view on the vortex of thousands survivors's souls.
Vigo, the Shopkeeper, provides them what they need, such as a sharpeners for their blades, ankle protectors and jelly beans!

• Of course, as well as older killers, but I doubt it will be a thing in the future.

• In this case you cannot blame the killer, as he was doing his work, but the survivors. The thing they done is bannable (griefing), but sadly, there is no place to report them, as the devs deleted the only way to report players (the in-game option is not working, it is there only to just be).

the killers should get 4 AI swf and the swf get a AI killer. all problems solved. SaltyKiller, your posts are so awsome, you brighten my day. it's really an inspiration reading them :chuffed:

Look at the AI in the "Tutorial" in PTB xD

I think this is a nice and fun way to balance the game. The killer being able to have a friend against 6 survivors sounds fair to me. I do think SWF should not be allowed in Ranked because of how powerful it is.

Also it would be really fair, because killer could play with his friend/random and have much more fun.

We are currently discussing removing the duration penalty of the Redhead's Pinky Finger.

Aiming at a close range survivor is pretty easy though, BUT it doesn't happen often. So this addon is to make the close range throw very deadly. At a long distance, you don't even have the time to reach the Survivor anyway.

We now try to create UR add-ons that add something a bit different in the killer gameplay, ask the killer to adapt to a new strategy or explore a different gameplay style and not only give a sure edge. If you look at more recent Killers, we did not make another Iridescent Head style addon.

hope that clarifies the concept behind this addons. keep giving us feedback and suggestions on the addons! We are more add-ons tweaks and balancing coming in for older Killers.

Thanks!

Maybe do not make killer that is viable only when using add-ons? Wonder why survivors can be played without add-ons, but when you want to play killer, you are forced to use add-ons to make some kills (the exceptions are Nurse and Huntress).

You made a weak killer, who is viable only when using add-ons, like the previous ones.

Killers should be playable without add-ons, which should be a nice addition to their gameplay, not a key to it.

really? is this thread serious or just trolling? hahaha....let me guess, you are killer main?

Would you prefer the current system of hatch standoffs until one gets bored?
Or the PTB system where the survivors take the game hostage, because they didn´t bring a key and can´t be bothered to fix a gen?

How can they fix a gen? Killers can (proven by stats) patrol much faster than one can complete a gen, and can regress it.

So do not screw up and end alone versus killer and 3 gens to complete. Why killer should be punished for survivor's mistakes?

It’s the survivor also being punished, for other survivors mistakes. That’s why the hatch is even a thing....

And it’s not punishment, you’re not being stolen from; wait did you think you’re supposed to always kill the 4th person, when for balance sake every game is meant to be 2 kill, 2 escapes?

I do not see the mechanic in this game, when the whole team of survivors escapes, then one of them ends up automatically on hook, because we should reward the killer for being bad. Guess why? Because it would be unfair, just like the hatch is.

You are bad? Rank down and play there, where you belong. Do not expect the game to give you 123'rd second chance.

I'm only playing the PTB, but i don't want to wait 30 minutes for a killer game

• @Cake1100 said:
He isnt weak. He is quite balanced just you need to be skilled and predict well.

Survivors don't even bother to avoid his gas, because it does nothing.

• His movement sped is the same while running, but he is slower when he throws, or charges the throw. But I agree with the rest of the post, he needs a buff, or we will have another Freddy.

• On the other thread, I wrote something about killer being weak. The Dev responded to me with this, > > @Janick said:

Just to clarify, the slow down happens while the Survivor is INSIDE a gas cloud and EXTEND 1.5 seconds after leaving the gas cloud. So if the Survivor goes through the whole thing is slowed down for MORE than 1.5 sec. The 1.5 sec also reset each time he enters a cloud.

If the Survivor gets hit directly by a bottle, the Visibility penalty is increased compared to only entering the cloud. (Using the Cigar box make it that Survivor who enters the cloud will suffer from the same blurry vision effect as when they get hit directly.)

We also do not intend to make the bottles fly more direct like the Huntress Hatchet. We see him as an AOE/ Area control effect Killer and not a projectile/dmg base Killer.

Hope that clarifies the subtility in the power.

Then I've responded with this:
"> Sure, but:

• the gas dissapears too quickly
• the throwing is very weird, unprecise, unintuitive, and the bottle flies too slow
• effect of blurry vision does nothing, the survivor knows exactly where to loop and when to drop the pallet, so you can delete it anyway
• the decreased movement speed, while being under the effect of the gas does almost nothing as well

So we have another low tier killer, the "noobstomper". He will be viable at low ranks (as every killer is), but incapable of killing survivors at mid and high ranks. He can blur the vision a bit, he can slow survivors a bit (if he manage it to hit them with the gas,of course). But he CAN'T be good at slowing, good at blinding the survivors. He is literally a "Fire up" among the killers - nice on paper, useless in the game, and the effect of his ability is unnoticeable.

So, to make him viable:

• make his gas BLIND (like a flashlight)
• make his cloud not dissapearing after 3-4 seconds, or make the effect of his gas not dissapearing after 1,5 seconds, but after a longer amount of time
• (optional) the slower movement speed should be more noticeable
• fix the throwing of his bottles, they should be throwable as huntress can throw her hatchets, but with smaller range

Boom, nice and viable killer. "

And you know what? His only respond was "The gas lasts 10 seconds". And that is it. When I asked him to respond to ALL my comment, he didn't.

So yeah, they think he is a pretty good killer, refusing to listen to every argument that says otherwise.

Tho they're mostly trolls and baits.

The clown could use some tweaks, discussed it with Horvath, he took the opinions but he'd rather wait before doing any small buff atm.

He needs:
-throwing bottles like Huntress do, but with limited range

• longer gas cliud
• REAL blindness, not the blur, when you can see everything anyway
• longer effect, like 2,5-3 seconds

Yea there’s so many possibilities for maps with this killer. It just feels like they dropped the ball on this one for right now anyway

"Hey, Cote, ehh... I think I can't make this new map for May the 29th...I have only silly looking circus and a building, which has nothing to do with circus" "Emm... Just copy the props from other maps lol" "Kek, okay, b0ss"

• Sadly, there is nothing left to nerf, he is garbage at this time.

I'm not here to definitively say the killer is OP or super weak, I just want to know how everyone is feeling about The Clown in their first impressions. Me personally he seems pretty weak, mainly due to the affects of the bottle being so brief that it doesn't even matter. Again though, just a first impression I am not definitively saying that he is weak, but what's everyone else think?

Very loopable killer, weak ability, bootles are too slow and the angle of the throw is... weird? It should be straight, slowly falling down, but it is straight up, then straight down... Also the effect of the gas is weak.

Do you think decisive strike is a fair perk? Do you think it’s toxic? Is it a nerf or a buff in your opinion? Honestly I would like to hear everyone’s opinion on this as everyone’s so divided on it.

Imagine a perk for killer, as when he fails to catch a survivor, but when he hit a skillcheck, the survivor instantly ends up on the killer's shoulder and goes to the hook.

This would be a "Decisive Strike" for killers. Does it sound fair?

• Animations are one thing, but Trapper and Wraith could use some sort of rework/buff - they are very weak at this moment, sadly. The two of them have the biggest potential in this game, but somehow thedevs made them how they made them - weak.

• @FSB75 said:

Everyone knows, that SWF is not fair.

I'm a killer....I disagree. SWF is nothing new. It's been in the game from the start. The game has enjoyed success for it's first year in spite of your alleged "imbalance". I don't deny it sounds a bit fun, but the game suffers in many other, more reasonable, areas at the moment. To add another killer would throw off what balance has been achieved.

The thing is, it was not in the game from the start, as you have said. The devs implemented it, because survivors wanted to play with their friend, meanwhile the game WAS AND IS balanced for solo killer and solo survivors. That's why we need a solo mode, and KWF/SWF mode. For balancing and fairness.

@SaltyKiller said:
How about, crazy idea, the Dev team fixes the current balance problems and weird bugs and THEN once that's done it's time to think of adding a new mode? I know that's just an absolutely insane idea that no rational human being could think of but hear me out.

I won't be talking to you, forum troll, sorry.

@Abyssionknight said:
2 v 6 is a cool idea, but I feel as though it would have very long queue times. Would be hard to get duo killers with comms, and if solo players don't enjoy the mode, (and I don't think they would, since you'd probably get flamed by the swf group for extending queue times and weakening their team by not having comms with other people) then the issue would only get worse.

It would not expand queues, because SWF will still play SWF, solo will still play solo. In KWF mode you could play with random killer anyway, so do not worry.

There are a lot of killers who post on the Steam forums that pallet looping needs to be removed/limited (and I agree!).

However, I’ve also read some hateful comments from killers about survivors playing stealthy and completing the objectives without the killer being able to find any of them, which makes them a “pussy (cat)”.

I don’t know about anyone else, but for me, I’d much prefer enter a trial as the killer and have survivors play in a stealthy way than have them jump out in a look-at-me-look-at-me-chase-me-catch-me-if-you-can way.

What about you? Do you prefer survivors who want to run you around the place while the others do the generators, or would you prefer survivors who stay hidden and complete the objectives? To me, survivors who are loud are just annoying and are looking to die.

While I hate loopers, I respect survivors that actually can play stealthy and lose the killer during the chase using mindgames and stealth.

• And I'm on R20, as high ranks are hell for killers.
Btw it looked exactly like this -
With the exception, that "my" speedhackers were quicker.

• @Stnek said:
Honestly it's probably their connection to you if you're playing killer. Sometimes you get people across the world or people using VPN's . In all of the time I've played both as killer and survivor I don't think I've seen more than maybe like 1 or 2 legit "speed hacking".

@powerbats said:
Most are simply playing with bad connections since i've gotten whacked by killers that appear out of nowhere even though they're not cloaked and just hooked someone on other side of map. You can usually see the persons ping and mine occasionally spikes due to the hosts location and if it gets too high I simply leave because it's not fair to anyone else if I stay.

Really? Running normally, and when I'm about to hit them they RUN FASTER THAN BILLY (literally, without lags) and then tbag me from afar? I know how lags look, and they were obviously a speedhackers.

In the old system, survivors were ranking easily, while killers struggled to. Now both sides have it hard to rank up.

Precisely, however, they could do some changes to stop the loss of the replay value which I hope you could agree on? The killer doesn't struggle to rank up to say to most, nothing much has changed for the killer in my perspective as the killer is like the controller of the game and what really happens, example: if the killer body blocks a survivor in the corner the survivor is unable to get out. On the other hand, if the survivor body blocked the killer they would be able to get out, so clearly, the killer shows dominance over how the match is played out and ran.Therefor, the ranking system is based off how the killer interacts and not how the survivors are forced to play as.

No, the game flows as the survivors dictate it, because they have the dominant role in this game, sadly.

Please elaborate how? Survivors are unable to completely control the game, unlike the killer. Survivors have to be forced to dc if the killers body block them in the corner?

May I ask to which rank you managed in this game? If you are new, I can understand your lack of informations about this game, but if you are a veteran player... Well, I will try.

The survivors dictate the flow of the game, because:

-if they want, they can do 5 gens in about 6-7 minutes

-one survivor can loop the killer for average time of 2-3 generators, and please remember, that it is just the first hook (by the way that's why some killer camp)

-survivors have WAY better perks than killers

-survivors have SECOND CHANCES if they [BAD WORD] something up. For example "Did the killer downed you and grabbed? Decisive Strike is here to help you!"; "Are you hurt? Do not worry, Self Care will heal you!"; "Oh, the Pig is charging / the Wraith is uncloaking? Boom! Sprint Burst!"; "Are your teammates dead, and you managed to repair only 2 generators? You deserve a free win, dear mister! Hatch is there for you!"

-the stronger killers' perks (which are not as good as survivors') are tied to the totmes, which can be destroyed by survviors BEFORE killers can use them

-As Marth did prove it, perkless Survivors at R1 can easily depip about 80-90% of fully perked killers

Do you have any questions?

I have approximately 1.2k hours in this game - No no, I understand what you're saying but thats not my point. My point is the killer can single handedly make the match pointless and defeat the objective - survivors are capable of this too by not doing gens etc, but killers can do this and force survivors to do nothing the whole game and body block them in a corner.

Did... Did somebody bodyblocked you in the corner on the map, and it was a big trauma to you? That's why you are talking about it so much? Also please tell my where killer can bodyblock you in the corner of the map, because I'm curious. Blocking one survivor somewhere (I assume you are talking about basement) will not win the game for the killer, when survivors can win it in the easy way, compared to how killer can win.

I beg you to leave this post please because you are trying to build up salt & tension. I'm just giving examples rather than from personal experience.

I'm not building anything here, since when not agreeing with you is toxic? I'm just asking what do you mean, when you say that "killers can block 4 survivors in the corner of the map", because it is totally incomprehensible and it is wrong argument, when you say, that killers hold the flow of the game, not survivors.

No, you were stirring. Killer do contribute to the flow of the game so do survivors but killers hold the majority in certain aspects.

No, they don't, and that is the problem of the balance in this game. Killers SHOULD hold the flow, but, in fact, they don't.

Mmm, I guess I should agree with you on that. But the killer can stop the flow of the game aswell as survivors.

So how can killer stop it?
And we consider non-bannable thing here.

Considering you edited your post, i'm almost left without any answer as you are putting up a good debate, however, killers can stop the flow by facecamping (even though its been slightly countered now, its still equally as game breaking). But killers are able to also do the hatch stand off where the survivor is unable to go else they get grabbed.

I've edited my post, because there were a typo in one word. Facecamping (blocking the ability to unhook a survivor) was patched in update 1.8(?) - that update, when Freddy came into the game. I assume you are talking about the camping. Well, this is not blocking the flow of the game, as there are other 3 survivors, who can do gen. Killers often camp, when they see survivors running around hooks, so it is up to them if they want to allow the killer to move out of the hook zone.
Hatch standoff is in the hand of survivors, as they can:

a) Repair the gens
b)Escape through the hatch

The killer can only find and down a survivor, and if the survivor is camping a hatch they can't do it. Please, note that the killer is punished in this case, because he did a good work in killing 3 survivors, but the game decides to reward the survivor with almost free escape.

We can call it "balancing", not "splitting". Imagine how easier would it be to balance the game, where you have only solo players, and only teamed players? How much fair would it be for killers to know, that they do not need to play against 4 coordinated survivors?

Everyone knows, that SWF is not fair. Thanks to their coordination and voice chats, they gain the benefits of several aura reading perks, they can coordinate which perks they bring, they can set their roles (gen-rusher, looper), etc.

Dear devs, you know, and I know it. But what can you do? Deleting it would irritate survivors, which would end up in the drop of the playerbase and your earnings, which are important. Without them you cannot develop this game.
So, deleting it would irritate them, nerfing it probably too. So what now?

This is my idea:

Split the game into two gamemodes.

1) 1 versus 4, 5 generators - The same as it is now, BUT without SWF. What does it mean? It means that ONLY solo survivors can join to the lobby of the killer. They cannot be in SWF

2) 2 versus 6, 9 generators - Yes, 2vs6. "Fight fire with fire", as they say. Let the killer play with his friend in KWF mode (Kill With Friend). In this mode, 2 killers join to the first lobby (the same lobby as SWF has), then they click "Ready" and create the proper lobby, where survivors can join. It would be the only lobby where survivors could play in SWF, and it would be OPTIONAL for solo survivors to join this lobby as well (just and option, in Settings, or in the main menu, which enables the solo survivor to play in 2vs6 lobby). Then, you could limit the teammates in SWF to 3, so there would be maximum of 2 teams of SWF in one lobby (but this is optional).

What are your thoughts?

Except one thing people always forget in the 2v6 or 2v8 gamemode ideas, is the killers ability to snowball. Just like gens, survivors would have to be added, not just doubled for fairness. With 2 killers, someone could just be billy and patrol gens, while someone chases; and GG

Those SWF is overpowered, and as a solo survivor, and doc main, I can tell you something does need to be done, not big, but something.

What do you think about?

SWF needs some kind of penalty honestly

If you do this, they will outrage and stop playing this game, this is not the solution, because devs will lose their money, and therefeore we will lose updates for this game.

Look, I do not think, that penalizing them is wrong, because it is right, but on the long distance, it would hurt the game too much. Survivors are just used to play SWF at this state, that's why we can't nerf SWF, but move it to the other mode, where killers could play win KWF (or other random killer).

The idea of Hex perks was, to give survivors additional objectives. Something else to do instead of only holding M1 until the gen is done. Hex perks were supposed to be a "high risk, high reward" thing. But the reality is sadly different. Most Hex perks are a medium reward at best. Not even because they get cleansed in the first 60 seconds, but because their effects are just meh.
Here´s a list of all Hex perks:

Ruin: Most will argue, that Ruin is a success, since every killer uses it. But it´s more of a necessity to slow survivors down, instead of being a good perk. Experienced players just power through it, since they can hit most great skill checks. Unexperienced players gen tap and both groups can finish the gens pretty fast.
Devour Hope: Is great against new players or when a new map comes out. But usually it get´s cleansed pretty fast. While it would be THE best anti camping perk around, IF it wasn´t for that little detail, that it can be cleansed.
The Third Seal: I don´t really know why this is a Hex perk. Since it´s effect is meh at best. But being a cleansable perk?
Huntress Lullaby: Makes skill checks a little more interesting. But the warning that it exists, even before it has a effect? Would be a great perk, if it wasn´t a Hex.
Thrill of the Hunt: Is a must perk to protect other Hex totems. But since we can´t see, which totem is what Hex, we can lose the wrong one, when several totems are cleansed at the same time. The 10% Bloodpoint bonus is still bugged, and only starts working once the first totem has been cleansed. Since the bonus Bloodpoints apply during the match instead of after the match like BBQ, its pretty meh on it´s own.
My Balance proposal would be to convert all the Hex perks into normal perks. That can´t be cleansed. Since the perks themselfes are not strong enough to justify, that they can be deactivated.
There are no survivor perks that can be deactivated before they can be used. Why force something like this on killers?

The whole "hex" conception is just funny. I do not know why they implemented it, as those perks are not THAT strong, to be destroyable by survivors, who has way better perks, like Decisive, Self Care, or Sprint Burst.

The only fair solution to this is to make those perks normal, or connect survivor's best perks to hexes as well.

I dont want to be teamed up with 2/3mans SWFs when I am playing Survivor & Killers should not have to be forced to be matched up with SWF groups either.

But how would the swf group get matches in reasonable times? They shouldn’t have to wait forever to get into a match because they want to play with their friends.

That's we can implement this - http://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/292/fair-and-fun-solution-to-swf-problem/p1

That’s not a bad idea but if I’m a solo killer and i want to play with another killer would i have the option to join that lobby without being kwf like how it’s optional for solo survivors to join it? Also I don’t think it would be a good idea to limit it to only 3 per swf group. I think you should be able to have all 6 players in the swf group for 2 reasons. First, even if it is limited to 3 what’s stopping me from inviting the other 3 to a voice chat and then basically making it a 6 man swf? And secondly this game has been out for 2 years lots of people already have their 4 man swf groups by now so they’d have to cut someone out to play which isn’t good. Overall it’s a nice idea and just imagine the cool killer combos you can have.

Then you would be playing with another solo killer.

Plus, I've said on that thread, that making 3 SWF is optional

Now, I saw this through a "Funny Moments" video and I have used it a few times... and by a few times I mean many times. The trick is to put a reverse bear trap onto the head of a survivor, sneak outside of the basement, and come back to block the stairs as the timer goes down, preventing them from escaping. Now the argument goes: Is this camping? Bodyblocking or holding the game hostage? I love seeing them nod and tea bag before their head explodes but I always feel a bit bad after it, so I finally stopped. Thoughts?

It is a strategy, it won't be bannable, if you ask, because you have a purpose in it and you do not hold someone's game hostage - they will be dead anyway.

Do what I did, when my friends lost their interest in playing DBD - play killer.

• Killer: Decisive Grab - when survivor manage to wiggle out of your grasp, you instantly grab him again, if you hit the skillcheck.

Survivor: Golden Toolbox: Haste - you gain bonus 5% speed, but the killer can find yellow, shining toolbox and destroy it, deleting your perk.

Bonus mechanic (!): The clutch(aka killer's "hatch") - when survivors manages it to complete 4 generators, killer can find a clutch, use it and instantly teleport to the random survivor Moring him.
