There's nothing confusing about the two most icon enemies from the real Resident Evil games being favored over some literal who.

I don't see why you would be confused as to why Wesker and Nemesis, the 2 most iconic and loved villains in RE are picked. I kinda think Jack would be a bit more generic though. I love 7. I pre-ordered the collector's edition. I got all trophies. I love the DLC. Jack as a killer for DBD can technically work but would be very basic in his power. No he wouldn't use the mold since that was never really his thing.
I'm confused about them picking Wesker, not Nemesis. (Which I literally said, by the way). I was expecting them to pick Nemesis, because yes, he's very iconic. But Wesker? Hardly. I'm not saying he's not important to Re's overall story, but in terms of being immediately recognizable he barely qualifies.
If the devs wanted a character purely based on being iconic or popular, they easily could have went with Lady D, Dr. Saddler, or Mr. X. Lady D doesn't need clarification. While I wouldn't really say Dr. Saddler is that iconic of a character by himself, he was the main villain of Re4, which is one of the most popular Re games. Mr. X is also widely popular, but I can't really tell you why. Maybe it's because he's a Tyrant, or maybe it's because the Re2 remake was incredibly popular, or something else. But he most certainly is iconic. Or, you know, they could have just picked another popular license entirely, to which there are plenty.
Putting popularity aside, Wesker doesn't really standout for being a character that could actually work well in DbD either. If anything, the reaction I've seen to him has been pretty underwhelming; with some similarly confused why they picked him over someone else, or some being worried that Behavior won't be able to give him a good power (since all he really does is use a gun, run around super fast, and mutate to grow a tentacle; at least from what I've seen of him). The only other licensed character I've seen get a reception this poor is Sadako, probably because most people weren't that familiar with the character, or were fearing that the devs wouldn't give her a good or unique power (the same effects I'm seeing being echoed with Wesker).
I hope that this clarifies why I'm personally confused that they picked Wesker over a different Re character.
Now, moving on to Jack, I've never quite understood the "he's not iconic" or "he's too generic" complaints.
Re7 is an extremely popular Re game, and while I do think that Jack is similar to Dr. Saddler in the way that he's iconic more so based off of the game he's in being popular rather than him as a character by himself being popular, he is still very recognizable.
As for his power, I think there are plenty of options.
- He could use many different weapons, like shovels, axes, a spiked paint-roller, and a double-bladed chainsaw. Not too exciting on its own, but it's better than nothing.
- He could create and possibly even control the Molded. (DarkTyrant, I'm kind of confused why you say that Jack doesn't use the mold, even though he's the one who directly creates the Molded. The Bakers kidnap tourists and vagrants, and Jack holds them captive. He then flays them, and gives their organs and flesh to Marguerite so she can make dinner with them. Jack then throws their skeletons and whatever else is left of them into those mold-covered cremator things in his basement which turns the human remains into Molded.) People praise The Plague for having a unique playstyle, and I think that having a killer who is able to gain something throughout the match (probably hits or hooks) and can then spend them at a workbench of sorts to create an ally is just that: unique. The only problem is that Behavior would have to create AI that doesn't suck.
- The player could swap between the three Baker family members, each having their own powers and abilities. (Though obviously they can't all be too complex, considering there'd be three of them.) We don't have anything like this currently. The Twins are similar-ish, but Victor (in-game, not lore wise) functions more so as Charlotte's power and less so of being an actual killer. The only problem with this is just that it'd be very time-consuming for Behavior to create three killers at once.
So yes, I do very well believe that Jack could make for an interesting and unique killer.

Heck yeah, dude! RE7 is my favorite in the franchise, and one of my favorite games ever. He was the perfect villain, and was an absolute mad lad. I would love to be able to play as him, and I think he would be an amazing killer in the game.
It's nice to finally see someone who shares the same opinion as me!
Re7 is also my favorite in the franchise, and Jack is one of my favorite villains of all time. I was so crushed (but not that surprised) when they revealed the first Re killer would be Nemesis, and now I'm doubly crushed (and outright confused) that they picked Wesker as the second Re killer.

Maybe Mother Miranda ?
Mother Miranda would definitely be cool as well. She's on my list of who I'd like to see along with Birkin, Jack, and Heisenberg.
-
Easily Jack Baker. He's one of if not the best suited RE villain for this position.
As for the survivors, I don't really know. I'd say Ethan, but I'm not sure if Capcom would be willing to reveal his face by letting him be a survivor.
While I don't think they're important enough to be full-on survivors, I'd like to see skins for Marvin and Annette.

Nurse is cringe.
I second this.
-
Because she's a broken, buggy, overpowered mess of a killer from a bygone era of DbD.
-
Ace and Trickster are probably having a hell of time.
-
I recently saw a suggestion to buff his tentacle in Tier 3 that I really liked. Basically, you would be able to use it to preform most actions, like breaking generators, snuffing boons, closing hatch, etc.
Oh, and also fix his zombie AI, because right now it's terrible.
-
Oh, I like this. It'd be a nice buff that wouldn't make him super annoying to play against in a chase.
-
Nurse definitely needs a change, but I'm not sure this is a good idea.

Bond
Bond is such a wonderful information perk that I run it on damn near everyone. Am I hurt and need help? Bond will find me a buddy! Is someone hurt and needs my help? Bond will show me where my hurt future buddy is! Do I hear the terror radius and I'm not sure what's going on? Well that guy running around demonstrates that they're being chased and therefore I am good to just keep working on this generator. Am I running from the bad guy? Oh snap, I can see with Bond that my buddy is on that generator so instead of turning left to them, I'm gonna turn right!
Information is King in this game and Bond gives you the most bang for your buck when it comes to info.
Bond is love, Bond is life.

The worst thing imo is the lack of any true accessibility features such as phobia control, graphics settings, photosensitivity settings, etc.
The best is actually the parent company. Dbd is proof that a video game can succeed and do well even when if is incredibly niche without mandating overtime and long work hours. The staff at BHVR are actually treated really well, from testimonies I:ve been able to read online anyway, and the game has still survived.
Huh, those weren't the answers I was expecting, but still, very interesting!
-
I have a question!
What do you think is best and worst thing about Dead by Daylight?
-
Now to celebrate!
-
Well, that didn't take long.

I gotcha!

I hope it's one of the maps about to be reworked. I also hope they make the map bigger. Not eerie of crows huge but a bit bigger than what it is right now.
I like the size it's at right now, but if they finally get rid of the dumb walls they'd probably have to make the map bigger or the loops safer in order to compensate.
-
Why did the devs create Jonah?

The ultimate shitpost. This is gold.

yes, I especially hate the annoying amount of breakable walls
I don't understand why there's still so damn many. I get the map was a testing ground for them, but it's been years now and there's still an extreme amount of them.

People said they would rather have a killer with little to no anti-loop then we got Onryo, if a killer has little to no anti looping power they genuinely do not end up well. Like I get people are tired of anti-loop killers, but can people take a look at how boring it is to play a no anti-loop killer? It's literally just people pre-dropping pallet simulator, there is a reason why no anti-loop killers aren't played often because they suck to play as.
But you can buff Sadako without giving her anti-loop. She's so weak right now not because she's lacking it, but just because the devs made Condemned so meaningless.
Don't get me wrong, she still won't be that strong, but she'd be a lot better than she is currently if the devs just buffed that and maybe gave her teleport a shorter cooldown.

Nah, they'll probably get clowned on even harder over there, lol.

No the main contender just stopped responding because, just like Alexia Carrington with the pool scene, they ran out of lies.

Well, according to them they're going to go make their own thread about this "issue".
-
Wow. Did all this arguing actually have a peaceful ending? Maybe this thread (hopefully) won't be closed? That's surprising.
-
Looks like I finally found some else who hates this map. Personally though, I think it sucks for both sides (somehow).

No matter how unique a killer is, they need something to help them in chase unless they want to be the next onryo.
Personally, I would rather have a weaker but fun killer than a boring but strong killer.
-
I feel like he would have been better designed if they didn't shove that anti-loop into his kit and gave him something more unique instead.
-
Absolute S-tier charm.

It is directed at you, and multiple people who think a similar way. I never said to ignore my comment to begin with, stop twisting my words. I said ignore it IF it doesn't apply to you. I literally said in the comment "why do people".
Stop getting worked up on something that has now barely anything to do with what I said.
I don't come on this forum to engage in petty arguments with people. I don't understand why you had to start this in the first place, but I'm going to stop wasting both our time and derailing this thread by just walking away.

I put the IF there so if you don't, then it doesn't apply to you. If it doesn't apply to you, then ignore it. Don't make a fuss about me apparently "putting words into your mouth."
You're the one who replied to my comment, so why are you telling me to ignore you? Especially when you said "if you're not enjoying it, it's not for you." which you can claim was a general statement, but was clearly aimed at me. If it wasn't, you just would have made your own comment/thread about it.
-
He seems pretty good to me. I'd put him in either B or A tier.
-
Yeah, I agree. His design isn't bad or anything, but it feels like Behavior tried to make it both a real, physical monster and something more unknowable and eldritch and it doesn't work that well. I think it would have been a lot better if they just leaned more in either direction.
-

I said IF you're not enjoying it.
Yes, and that implies that I wasn't enjoying it.
-
Glad you like him! Personally though, I think depending on the map he can be pretty annoying.
-
I was really hoping they would nerf it from the PTB, because it kinda ruins what would otherwise be a pretty fun map.
-
@neb said:

why do people act like survivors and killers go through marathon runs every time they play the game? It's a video game, if you're not enjoying it, it's not for you.
When did I say I'm not enjoying it? Don't put words in my mouth. I wouldn't still be playing DbD and hanging around this forum if I didn't like the game.
However, I personally think The Dredge is a pretty meh killer that, depending on the map, can be quite annoying to play against. Not to mention, and not to sound mean, but OP's suggestion is a terrible idea.
-
She's a buggy, broken mess that needs a rework. She's nothing but a reminder from DbD's bygone era.
-
Can we please not make him more annoying? Also all that would do is nerf Solo-que players, and they already have it super rough.
-
The Clown is gonna go murk the Dredge when he hears about this.
-
Susie is like the Feng of the Legion. Almost all of them play super sweaty and toxic, and us fellow Legion mains don't claim them.
-
...No. No it's not.
-
In my opinion, he's okay. Just meh. Nothing particularly interesting, but nothing bad or super bland.
-
Seems more annoying than scary to me.

If you say so, it's not that different from Demongorgon being a killer honestly.
...I don't see that. Demo is a humanoid monster from another dimension, and a dinosaur is well... a dinosaur.
-
Yep. In fact, I'm working down the line of killers; Trapper to Dredge.

He's thinking like a Velociraptor.
I could see it! If Demogorgon can be a killer so can a Velociraptor. 😄
Uh yeah. that's gonna be a pass for me. I just don't see how that could work.
-
I'm sorry, what now?
-
It's actually pretty good aside from the main building. If they nerf that, I think it'd be great.
