I personally think this is really funny. I'm curious to see what the story is about.
-
- Fanf
- The Shinning
- It
- Outlast
- RE7+8
- Christine (Yeah this one's weird. I'm not expecting to ever get Christine herself, but the guy who originally owned her: Roland D. LeBay. In the book he's kinda the main villain.)
-
Susie is the Feng of the Legion.
As a Frank main, I just want some skins man. Julie really needs some too.

Saddler doesn't really fit at all. Jack is just another version of Mr. X and if you say something about the mold, that is basically the type of garbage they did to Nemesks. Don't give him powers he doesn't control. Mother Miranda barely did anything to make her worthy of a killer. Heisenberg can fit but really why would you choose him? As for Birkin, you already got him. That's the problem with Nemesis. Some forget that the Nemesis in DBD is simply not Nemesis. He can fit but people use his current state in DBD to say that he doesn't. He definitely does. They just gave him a power that Birkin would've had. So yeah you already got Birkin with a Nemesis skin over him basically.
- I admit Saddler was a bit of reach, but I still think he'd work better than Nemesis.
- I don't see how Jack is in any way, shape, or form "just another version of Mr. X". No offense, but have you actually played RE7? The only thing he has in common with Mr. X is that they're both physically strong; but you can say that about a #########-ass ton of RE villains. The reason why I say he is the best pick for an RE killer is because he's very human-like, and directly inspired by franchises like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Evil Dead; which are both things that inspired DbD. Jack has actual personality and charm. Not to mention, he has way more options for a power. Swapping between different weapons, creating Molded (and I'm not talking about just having a pair of them patrol the map like Nemesis' zombies. This would be way more in depth, with him being able to create different kinds that do different things), or even switching between the different family members who would each have their own ability's and attributes.
- "Mother Miranda barely did anything to make her worthy of a killer." Again I gotta ask (and I'm seriously not trying to be rude), but have you played RE8? Miranda was Spencer's inspiration for creating Umbrella, hell he even got the design for the logo from her. Without her, Umbrella would have never been created; we would not have a Resident Evil. No Tyrants, no Albert Wesker, no Nemesis, no Chris, no Leon, no Jill, no nothing. Not to mention she's slaughtered thousands in her pursuit to resurrect her daughter. I'd say that's pretty damn worry of being a killer. As for a power, she could shapeshift into just about anything, and also control the Mold like vines. That's way cooler and easier to implement than anything Nemesis has to offer.
- I'd choose Heisenberg over Nemesis any day of the week. Just like with Jack, he has an actual personality and motive; unlike the Tyrants. Not to mention, controlling electricity and metal is way cooler and inspired than anything Nemesis could offer. I imagine he'd have some cool interactions with generators.
- "As for Birkin, you already got him". Since when does Birkin run around hitting people with a tentacle and infecting them with the T-virus?I've seen you consistently call DbD Nemesis Birkin, and I have never once understood why because they're nothing alike.
I just want to state that in my opinion, Nemesis' rocket launcher and flamethrower would never fit in DbD. Heavy weapons like that just don't fit the theme of the game. Hell, guns in general don't really work, that's the why the closest thing we've ever gotten to one is spear gun. That basically leaves Nemesis with sprinting, roaring, infecting people, and hitting people with a tentacle as his only options for a power; all of which we've already gotten in some way before.
Lastly, I just wanna say that I respect your opinion and dedication to Nemesis. From day one though, I've never once thought he'd work in Dead by Daylight, though.

It's a tie between Nurse and Freddy for me. One is incredibly broken and the other is just boring.

Yeah, it would be great to have OG Freddy back with some tweaks! It would also bring back at least one beloved player, @GeneralV .
As far as Nemesis, I just can’t see them integrating his weapon arsenal into DbD in any meaningful way. What’s he going to do, use a rocket launcher to blow away tiles he doesn’t like? And even if the flamethrower only did something simple like slowly burn pallets over time, it was still a huge gas tank on his back that heavily slowed him down - and you ultimately destroy to damage him.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2953106#Comment_2953106
I think all things considered, Nemesis was the best pick. He was hard set on chasing and eliminating Jill the entire game. Just curious, who do you think would be a better fit from RE into DbD? Mr. X just trudges after you all of RE2 except the end of the game, a lot of other enemies in the series are very fast-moving or gigantic (like Nemesis in later mutations). But I haven’t played all of the games. So just wondering who you think would translate well into DbD.
William Birkin, Dr. Saddler, Jack Baker (the best pick out of all of these), Karl Heisenberg, and Mother Miranda would all work better than Nemesis in my opinion. I don't think any Tyrant would fit well, because they're supposed to be almost robotic moving walls. Nemesis was at least better than Mr. X or Wesker, though.
I know why they picked Nemesis however; it's because they knew he'd sell, not because he'd actually fit in DbD.

Oh... I haven't left the memory of the Forums yet? That is most surprising.
I am sorry, my friend, but my time is past.
Damn, do I have your permission to take up the fight to get Old Freddy back?
-
Yeah, Old Freddy is so much better than Modern Freddy. He wasn't the strongest, but he was at least fun.
Nemesis though, I disagree with. He certainly sucks alright, but in my opinion, he always was a terrible pick for an RE killer. He's supposed to be an unstoppable force, so to put him in a game like DbD he'd need to be extremely nerfed to point where he doesn't even feel like Nemesis anymore; which is exactly what Behavior ended up doing.
-
I usually play both roles, but I guess I lean a little towards killer.
-
I wash it every day, and comb it in the mornings. It's always been messy though, but that seems to help keep it under control a little.
Also, I love the art as usual, C3! Sadako looks adorable!

I believe it should be a option you can turn of if you want, I don't believe ppl have to download Discord to play with a friend on PC or another playing on a different system then you.
As people have already stated in this thread, (see @jesterkind's post above), voice chat just would not be a good idea. I'm all for buffing solo-que, but this isn't the way.
-
Please no.
-
See, this is why representation is important.
I'm afraid I can't relate too much, seeing as how I'm straight, but it's great to hear you have found a character you can connect with and are now being true to yourself. I life ain't easy man; just keep pushing through one day at a time and you'll make it!
Internet hug from America! ❤️😊
-
I do!
Though sadly the Archives (the game's best chance at expanding on the lore) was kinda ruined by the whole "multiple timeline/alternate reality" thing going on.
-
Nurse makes Freddy look like a well-designed killer.
She undoubtedly needs a rework, and I hate to say that because I think reworking killers is a bad idea most of time (look at what happened to Freddy), but I see no way to nerf her without making her suck.

I see free speech isn’t a thing with BHVR communist POSMF’s.
Also, calling me a communist because I think Nurse is op is a little extreme, don't you think?
-
I actually like playing as Nemesis more than Pyramid Head (not by a lot though), but I voted for Pyramid Head anyway just because every single time I play Nemesis I get reminded of how poorly designed and lazy his power is.
And hey, at least I have more fun playing against Pyramid Head than I do Nemesis.

Legión needs skill? Seriously?
Yes, arguably one of the most skillful killers in the game imo.
-
Eh, Nurse's basekit is already broken, these add-on's are just like rubbing salt in the wound.
-
Nah, I love going against and playing as Oni 👹
-
Probably Legion, Trickster, or Sadako. I love the DbD Ghostface as a character, but playing as him can get kinda boring. Hmm, maybe it's time for a change.
-
Ah yes, the old "nerf it because I don't find it fun" argument.

Yeah, I know right? They're everywhere. It kinda irks me because I particularly hate Feng.

I'd still really like to see Fanf, Outlast, and Shinning chapters.

I wish they put elements from old Freddy, but still kept the tp and the snares
Yeah, that'd be my ideal Freddy. I want his older power with a few aspects from Modern Freddy added in.
-
I just want Old Freddy back.
-
Us Legion mains are crying tears of joy right now.
-
There are too many things to even name, but the basics would probably be things in this nature: (Keep in mind these are more so things I would change about the game, and not things I would do as a dev. Because if I was a dev, there is no way I would have the skill, time, or resources to make all of these changes.)
- Overhaul the hatch/end game. Right now, I hate how it's basically a dice roll for whether the killer or the last survivor finds the hatch first. And it also feels unfair to me how the survivor is almost guaranteed to die/escape depending on the gate spawns after the hatch is closed.
- Reduce the grind substantially.
- Rework The Nurse. The Nurse in her current state is a design nightmare, and I see no way to nerf her without making her horrible.
- Nerf Dead Hard.
- Nerf CoH
- Rework Noed.
- Bring back Old Freddy (with modern Freddy's teleport) in the form of an add-on.
- Rebalance almost every breakable wall.
- Reduce the size of bigger maps like Mother's Dwelling, add more pallets to maps like Shelter Woods, and remove many pallets on maps like The Game. Overall, I'd strive to bring map balance in general closer to that of Coal Tower and Father Campbell's Chapel.
- Give solo-survivors a way to communicate with each other, likely through a ping system. (Don't worry, I'd never add voice chat to this game.)
- Buff many killers.
- Buff many add-on's.
- Remove MMR and start testing new match making systems.
- Retcon ######### Tome lore like Pig's, Nurse's, and Legion's. Additionally, from this point on, every Tome entry will be concrete lore, instead of alternate time-line bullshit.
- Provide more cosmetics to lesser played characters.
- Add more features to Kill Your Friends.
- Add new game-modes.
- Improve events and overall make them more special.
- Shift general focus to improving game health.
- Act more transparent with the community.
- Add weekly, or possibly even monthly rituals. Additionally create more community-wide challenges.
- Add more Resident Evil characters in as legendary skins. (It kinds surprises me how Behavior hasn't already done this. There are so many and RE is a pretty popular franchise.)
-
I can be competitive at times, but more often than not I play casually. In my opinion DbD simply isn't a competitive game, and trying to play it that way makes it a lot less fun.
-
I agree.
And normally I hate when people suggest to rework a killer because I think it's unfair to the people who like said killer in their current state, but with Nurse I see no way to nerf her without making her power utter garbage.
-
I'm happy for you guys! Twins really needs more attention, it's like Behavior just tries to forget they exist.

Actually no, most games are balanced around both high and low levels of play. And yes, this is difficult to achieve - but if you don't, you either have veterans jumping ship or a game that becomes incredibly niche and eventually dies out.
SC2 for instance introduced a lot of changes to help lower APM players get a handle on things.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2910433#Comment_2910433
Yes, generally veterans complaining to other veterans. And where it's not, I think those veterans have succeeded in creating a pretty powerful confirmation bias, where every loss gets blamed on SBMM. People tend to have rose-tinted goggles when it comes to gaming. That said, Otz and co. have gradually come around on SBMM and most of their current complaints are about the number of hackers they are running into - which is a very different discussion.
Sure - the game is tougher now for veterans. But if they aren't sweating, then some new players are getting wrecked. And to keep a game from basically fading away, you do need to help newer players out too. Veterans should be facing other veterans, that's the long and short of it. Throwing them new players to stomp won't keep them happy for long.
Regarding the actual system - it has flaws, and most of those should be fixed in the midpatch from what we know.
Kills for killer...I'm okay with that.
Survivor MMR is complicated. It should be more nuanced than escapes, but that gets very complicated if you want to avoid it becoming unnaturally inflated.
Yes, SBMM is flawed. A lot of those flaws should be corrected soonish. But 'perfect' is always the enemy of 'better', and SBMM is definitely better than ranks were. I started out under ranks and it was horrible.
At least you acknowledge that it's flawed. Personally though, I still think RBMM was leagues better than SBMM.
-
I switch mains faster than my moods, but the one killer I also come back to is Legion. I love basically everything about them, and they're the killer that got me into DbD in the first place.
As for survivor, I main Ash. I like the show and the movies, plus no one plays him so I feel unique.

@StarLost said:

Because, as you can see from recent 'hours' threads, the forums are incredibly overrepresented by veteran players.
It's understandable why the veterans would prefer RBMM, because it put them up against an on average weaker pool of players, making games 'less sweaty' - for them, at least.
But people are complaining about it everywhere, not just here. Also, if those said veteran players aren't having fun, don't you think the system is failing them? Just because they put a lot of hours in the game doesn't mean they should have to sweat every single match; and that goes for both sides.
I'm sorry, but SBMM is simply flawed. For one, putting a competitive match making system in a heavily RNG based game like DbD (that doesn't even have a defined win condition) is not a good idea. SBMM looks strictly at kills and escapes to calculate your "skill level", which is incredibly unfair for reasons I shouldn't even have to explain.
-
@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2906892#Comment_2906892
It really wasn't.
The only people RBMM helped out were veteran players looking to skunk newbies.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2907220#Comment_2907220
If your MMR is volatile, it generally means that either the system is breaking down (prime-time tends to be nuts, probably due to more players = more lobby dodges = cascading breakdowns of the SBMM system) or that you are either too high or too low in MMR and the system is trying to find the right spot for you.
If you're literally seeing people with 10 hours and then 4k hours, it's probably a lobby dodge situation - and that should be fixed soonish.
Not sure what's happening with your Doctor - I haven't seen anything like what you're describing outside of the tail-end of the MMR testing.
But if RBMM was so much worse, why is almost everyone complaining about MMR and asking for the devs to revert it? In fact, you're one of the very few people I've met actually defending it.
-
I, along with many, many others, agree. MMR just simply makes the game unfun, there's really no other way to put it. Now, I'm not saying the old ranking system was good, but it was at least better than this.
-
Hmm, I agree with most of those. As for mine, I'd say the real only unpopular opinions I have is that I think Legion is one the best designed killers from a power, aesthetic, and lore standpoint, and that Nemesis was one of the worst picks for an RE killer.

No, the Jan reference isn’t rude or an insult. It’s just a sarcastic response. Google it if your so inclined.
I don't even know what you two are talking about (Hellraiser?), but it's nice to see two people on here actually being civil. I just wanted to say that 😀

just think, if it wasn't a request every 3 microseconds a lot more people would be on board with the idea :sparkles:
I never got this, though. Maybe once upon a time, but now I only see it mentioned around once a week or two at the least. And even then, OP isn't even requesting that they want Fanf, they're just asking about peoples' opinions on it getting in; there's a difference.
Or who knows, maybe I'm just not bothered by people asking about a franchise they want to see added to a game they like 🤷♂️ (That wasn't meant to sound passive aggressive, by the way.)
-
At this moment in time, no, not really. And this thread proves exactly why.
And that's because I'd be scared for the Fanf fans if they were to enter this little "wholesome community".

I may hate Wraith, but even I'd say he didn't deserve to be nerfed.
He's in a pretty bad spot right now.
