I don't even wanna know what it's gonna look like. 😭
You can see what it looks like in the trailer, and personally speaking I think it might be for the best that it was left out 😅

Definitely. Even the blonde Ace head I like is very waxy and Ken doll.
At least he released with his head cosmetic 😂
(looks at Claudette)

No kidding. I opened the game to see the new Rift, decided I only liked Ace's blonde head (which is saying A LOT because Vittorio is obviously one of my mains), and played dress up for like 30 minutes. Figured I'd play one trial while it was open, experienced yet another steamroll, and closed the game again. 😵
We really do need them. If every piece is competing to be the most special and amazing, we just end up with something that looks like a trash heap. Maximalist clutter is a thing to be fair, but none of it is quite that either.

I wanna say I see the vision. Couture Spanish cathedral, or something along those lines. But unless you plan on wearing each outfit as an entire set, what do you do with it? Never mind the fact that the colors are very bright and/or saturated and highly visible. It's like they're designing cosmetics for a different game.
Yeah, you can't mix and match these skins with like anything, lol. I love to create good looking outfits, but these recent rift cosmetics can't be combined with anything! They all look so over the top and needlessly gaudy to me.
-
Beats me 😂

I've said this a lot, but I'm going to go gloves off this time. Again, all of this is my opinion.
Cosmetics are getting uglier in general, and the Rift is the epicenter of a lot of that. Just talking heads alone, the styles are so cosplay-wig adjacent with that Playdough-y Fortnite look to it. We're getting ugly glasses and ugly piercings on top of that too. Then when it comes to the outfits, they're real hit or miss. That top for Jake with the denim jacket was cute, but the sports bra was absolutely not. If we wanted to go Sleepaway Camp, there was a much better way of doing so. And David's outfit from the metal Rift was borderline offensive, how HIDEOUS it was. I use the top sometimes, but even that is hard to match with his existing cosmetics. The game has always had issues with encouraging play with the cosmetics, but it's getting worse as time goes on. Sets that don't match anything but themselves. Vittorio is a fantastic example of that with his tattoos. Why would you make a set that changes them red when most of them are blue?
I could rant for days about it. But if they want us to play dress up, give us SOMETHING. Ugly stuff that doesn't match anything is encouraging me not to spend money.
I totally agree!
I've always enjoyed the more down to earth cosmetics, but I feel like we've been getting less and less of those. This recent rift especially is the worst I've seen in awhile. Does anyone actually enjoy this "theme"? The stained glass doesn't even look like glass, lol. And the Dredge skin not only blocks most of your screen but also looks significantly worse compared to the amazing concept art.
Overall this is just so disappointing.
-
Yeah, I've definitely noticed how much longer they're taking to complete. Because DbD needed to be grindier I guess…
-
Freddy's been a favorite of mine since day one.
-
Yeahhhhhhh, it's honestly just plain sad how some killers have numerous (sometimes debilitating) bugs that the devs just don't bother fixing :/
-
Yeah, honestly the more I play him the worse he feels.
-
Yeah, bar Haddonfield none of the maps they adjusted needed any extra pallets. And especially not Crotus Prenn.
-
@Throw said:
She's niether fun the Play as or Play Against just completely rework her
That is never the solution.
-
Yeah, I don't really know what they were thinking with this. Chapel especially is absolutely terrible now.
-
You're not serious right?
-
I agree with multiple other people here that the rework, quite frankly, sucks. It's clunky, un-thematic, and came at the cost of effectively removing a beloved killer from the game.
-
Surprised I haven't seen more people say Toba Landing and Nostromo. They both look great, but playing on them is horrible.
-
Ohhh, sounds interesting! I've never played in any kind of tournament before, but maybe there's a first time for everything?

@Nazzzak said:
Anyone know if he's still controller friendly? Ive seen multiple people say his slaughtering strike is janky, and I know console players tend to feel these things the most.
I might not be the best person to answer this, because I've only played one or two games with new Myers, but I do play on console and in my opinion he felt absolutely terrible. It was like I was steering a bulldozer. I've seen footage of people on PC playing him and it looked like they had a much faster and wider range of turning (which wouldn't surprise me, considering most dash killers are harder to control on console)

I’m sorry but that’s a exaggeration the anti tunneling changes could have worked if they just tweaked numbers and removed the gen blocker part
it’s funny killer mains and every YouTube channel complained about the update.
Off the record gets nerfed and we have a S tier character who is great at tunnelingNormally I would agree that people are too quick to claim something is going to "kill the game", but the anti-tunneling and slugging changes legitimately changed how the core of DbD worked, in a way that many players hated.
I don't see why it's funny that people were calling that out. I would dare say that most who voiced their concerns didn't even want the system gone entirely, just tweaked a lot - which is what the devs are actively doing.

Wesker.
I just hate him with a passion and never understood his standing in the community. Tbf I despise him since the 90s (Resident Evil 1), so there's that.
I just associate him with…not nice things. :D
Finally someone else who hates him, lol. I don't get why the community adores him so much. He's an annoying joke of a character with an obnoxious and irritating power on top.
-
The whole rework is terrible in my opinion.
The primary reason he feels weaker though is because you can no longer ambush people with a 99'ed Tier-3. Now it automatically forces you into "Pursuer Mode" or your stalk will decay. Don't forget all the new sound effects and the slow/ugly looking new tier up animation.
-
Well, ideally you should P100 someone you really like. But if I had to give a random suggestion, why not Sadako?

they reverted anti tunneling though
They admitted it was not ready
Because in its current state those changes may have actively killed the game. Character - focused reworks like this that manage to weasel their way onto live almost never get amended. Like with what happened to Freddy, to Trickster, to Singularity, to Skull Merchant, etc. And now Myers. The only one I can think of that they actually fixed was Sadako's terrible rework, but even then I think it was only because people were starting to complain about her being too strong.
-
Despite all the negative feedback I doubt Behavior is going to revert him, because that means that they would have to admit that it was a terrible idea in the first place.
-
Ah yes, because clearly she needed the help.
-
Probably Ghoul. In my opinion he represents everything wrong with this game.
-
I was silently praying that this terrible rework wouldn't make it to live, but sadly it got overshadowed by the anti-tunneling changes and Krasue.
I don't even know who this was aimed at? Certainly not Halloween fans or previous Myers mains, because it's nothing like him. But I don't even think that people who like dash killers will enjoy this, because of how janky, clunky, and plain sluggish it feels to use.
-
In my opinion I think it's terrible and I hope they revert almost everything.
-
@Rogue11 said:
Not really a fan of the rework. He was unique and interesting before and in a decent spot after his recent add on pass. Now he's another copy paste dash killer to unga bunga through pallets with. Meh
Exactly. This rework is completely dead on arrival in my opinion. Hopefully it doesn't arrive at all.
-
They turned Myers into a dash killer
-
I main Freddy, or at least I used to.
Simply put, just revert the rework he got all those years ago to his original power, with a few modern touch ups.
-
Honestly I think Homelander would be near the top of my list. A few years ago I wold have said that that's ridiculous, as The Boys certainly isn't horror, but it seems to me that Behavior doesn't really care about keeping DbD a horror game anymore. And personally I'd still say that Homelander is a far darker and scarier character then many of the killers we have in the game.
-
Yeah, it deeply bothers me how Behavior just neglects to fix certain bugs even when they've been in the game for years. Pinhead almost certainly has the most bugs of any killer though. They are the main deterrent as to why I don't play him.
-
I don't miss the balance and toxicity of old DbD, but the atmosphere and charm was 100x better. I personally never found DbD to be all that scary, but at least back then it was trying to be. Licenses were a rare treat and actually fit the game unlike nowadays where the devs clearly are just picking whatever will gain them money and popularity. The menus and animations were so much more creative and unique, while the ones currently feel so sanitized and bland, same with killer power design too actually.
I still love this game, but I'd be lying if I said there weren't a lot of things I missed from the early days.
-
I mean, I hate him because of his power design, but the fact that he's stupidly strong certainly does not help.
-
Yeah, server crashes are extremely irritating and I hate how the game acts like you D/C'ed and it's your fault. If the devs can't fix the crashes than the least they could do is give us some form of compensation when it happens.
-
Legion was the killer that got me into this game and I joined right after they came out. I still play them frequently to this day because their gameply is enjoyable to me, as simple as it is.
-
I've always wanted The Thing in DbD! I don't know what people are talking about, it has plenty of room for a creative power. Good job on the design!

Thank you, my dear friend! I know the chapter isn't even out yet, but I think this discussion is truly important, for more than just FNAF.
And yes, I can understand how demotivating it is. I took another break from DBD since January precisely because of how disappointing Freddy's changes were, and this very aspect of sticking to a recycled power instead of giving him his unique, original power back was the primary reason.
I was excited for FNAF, but now I am not sure if I will get the chapter. Probably not, considering I don't like ranged killers.
It just aggravates me because I know the devs are capable of more, but they just don't want to try anything new nowadays. Whether because of community push-back or potential bugs/glitches, I don't know. Are we ever going to get a killer that flies, or climbs on walls, or inhabits their own area of the map (like the Halloween event), or who disguises themselves as a survivor, or applies buffs/debuffs, or just something that actually pushes the envelope a little? I know all those concepts may not be the strongest, but I feel like strength should almost always come secondary to fun/creativity.
-
Well said, General! Honestly, this is one of the biggest issues pushing me away from DbD right now. I'm just not excited for any new killer because I know Behavior is not going to innovate or try to design a creative power at all.

I think the problem is that stealth and especially trap killers don't really have interesting counterplay. I guess stealth killers can be looped quite easily, so there's that. But trap killers in particular have never really seemed to work in DBD. At least they aren't liked very much by a lot of survivor players.
I think both work perfectly well in DbD, and the problems that people do have with them stem from these killers being old and neglected by Behavior. If they attempted to actually make modern trap/stealth killer I believe it would be excellent. Not to mention people have different tastes. If Behavior only makes killers for the same groups of people (like they have been doing), it's going to lead to staleness and burnout.

It's simple. Anything that's not dash/projectile are simply not viable especially in high level. And people aren't gonna buy Killers that are weak.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3933461#Comment_3933461
Just take a look at Skullmerchant, from a trap-based killer to Twins/Singularity 2.0.
I was hoping FNAF would be an interesting stealth killer, but no, just a guy who throws axe with teleport :(
Same thing happened with Freddy. With both of his reworks, lmao
Behavior doesn't seem interested in creating new concepts or trying to innovate their designs in any way, they're now content to just keep rehashing the same ideas over and over because they know that most of the playbase eats it up.
-
No, you're definitely not alone. I've seen a lot of people disappointed with this power, for good reason. There's nothing new or exciting here, and it's not thematic to Afton at all.
-
It sounds like it was ripped straight from Billy, lmao. Since when does Afton roar at people?
-
@ObsidianButterfly said:
If it's not a dash killer, it's a projectile killer.
Because we aren't allowed to have anything else, apparently.
Like seriously! Afton would have made a perfect trap or stealth killer but they gave him a projectile for some reason.
-
I don't mind Afton using a fire axe as a weapon since fire is pretty common in Fnaf games, but why the hell does he throw it at survivors? That makes no sense and screams lazy design.
-
Thematically it would make very little sense to give Springtrap a dash or projectile ability. It'd make much more sense for him to be focused on traps and stealth instead, plus we already have way too many of the former.

it was a disaster of a map. Trying to see auras and scratch marks was the biggest pain imaginable
I agree that they could've toned it down a little, but I personally I found it easier to see things from a distance compared to the modern version. Not to mention it actually looked like a place of a destruction that was burned to the ground, whereas current Borgo has a much more fantastical appearance, probably because it was made to look like Vecna's map.
-
I'm probably in the minority here, but I hate what they did to Borgo. I genuinely think it looked so much better with the red hue.
-
Man, I hate that server error so. Especially since the game acts like it's your fault and you get hit with a DC penalty and lose all your points.
