As far as i see it, it is just a little adjustment, but maybe its enough. We will see.
-
What are you opinions on Haddonfield?
I would say its pretty survivor biased (except you´re a Trapper :P ), i dont enjoy this map at all playing killer it´s like 4 accessable houses and each contains a major loop, espicially if you are running BL.
@Poweas i still hate playing on this map, maybe it´s the thing that small game is not very reliable and the totem spawns are still quite good and hidden, or maybe it´s that i dont run BL very often.
-
The quitter bonus for survivors would be the 5k escape points i guess (it seems that for some reason this doenst work sometimes).
Other then that, i totally agree with you, noone should be punished if the other side leaves.
I think and hope BHVR is working on it though.
-
I am going to play Plague today @Gorgonia, come and face me. Maybe you get out, maybe i get you :P
Now serious: I play against her from time to time (on purpe ranks) and i am still convinced that she is a solid mid tier killer.
I would tweak at general mechanics of killers and not on them indivudually.
-
I did the same thing for a time. But there comes a time you realise that exactly these killers does not care either.
Atm when i get tunneled i give the trial lowest possible rating in the endscreen, but i guess this feature is not beeing used at all^^
-
To all the killers and survivors that have a little chat in the endgame lobby with me.
-
@ShyN3ko but it does not hurt either, does it?
-
It may not be an S tier perk, but still its nice for tracking, especially if you get blinded (or fatigued).
But tbh i still dont use it that much because there are so many more powerful perks out there.
-
Something like an experimental game mode with monthly changing modifiers. Completly unbalanced but fun stuff like
- everyone got random perks or
- the killer may have 6 perks or
- everyone got different perks as build in mechanic
- perks changes suggested by the community
idk. as i said stuff that someone can only dream off.
It then could be used like the PTB and as a playground for the devs. (i guess even the inclusion of a steam-workshop-like mod system could be used, because in every community there are capable modders )
-
@Nickenzie that is actually a fun idea, but it would make more sense to make this a stand alone perk for the next killer or so.
Hex Ruin is ok, i mean it is strong but it usually gets destroyed pretty fast. I would rather buff Hex perks in general. Someone mentioned some time ago to give each Hex perk a passive ability that they keep even after the totem got destroyed.
For Ruin that would be no extzra progression on great skill checks, which would be totally ok i guess.
-
Usually you put them anywhere here in the forum and then people discuss them. But i cant say anything about how likely it is to be recogniced by the developers.
But i can say there are a lot of new concepts and ideas out there, so feel free to add! :)
-
I guess its just a very hard game to balance out considering all skill groups and considering the difference that SWF introduces.
But i guess defensive strike would be ok if you put like a 60 sec timer to it :P
-
Ok here is a more detailed opinion:
- i would not bind pipping for killers to kills, but more to hooks. With a bonus for hooking different survivors each time (to adress tunneling).
- despite the fact that you gave us detailed numbers for the BP, there is still a problem that some killers have it easier to farm BP than others (for example: easy: Legion, Doctor; hard: Plague), but i would say thats a minor problem
- i disagree on the pipping for survivors, though i agree that surviving should have a major impact on pipping, it should not be the only condition (otherwise you reinforce selfish behavior, rather then reinforcing altruistic one).
-
I would not agree totally, but you are right that some people use them way to often.
I guess its because she is still relativly new and not overplayed so some people have not considered all options.
I often saw people cleansing themselfs, just to go and rescue someone infected afterwards.
-
And how are the black pip and the downpip treshholds?
But actually i would like to concider BP for pipping progress (like it was some time ago)
-
Dunno maybe its not tunneling, maybe its waiting 3 minutes for a game to start, then playing it for 2 mins cause you got unlucky and the killer tunnneled?
Maybe you should not combine a weak killers strategy with some community wide hated aspect of the game for some psychological effect...
-
There was a time when dying suvivors would first have to be woken up before you could heal them and a time where adrenalin did not wake you up.
Still the devs decided to do it this way, i mean, they got the statistics and from what i heard is that Freddy shortly after release was by far the killer with the lowest escape rate and so far and so on.
(also he is not enjoyable to play against, but thats just my POV)
-
I got some too!
Gatewarden:
when you hook someone after the exit gates are open, they become blocked by the Entity for like 60s
Kill the other one:
When someone gets unhooked and you are not in camping distance, the person doing the unhook can be oneshot straight to dying state
I just want to say: there are really strong perks out there, which are for some reason totally underrated and most killers stick to things like ruin and ratgher complain about strong killer perks.
I do not want to say that there is a 'slight' inbalance in higher ranks, but you always need to consider, that there are not only the red ranks and not only SWF groups.
-
@Alza i totally feel you...
had a similar thing some days ago...
Played Trapper, had a fair game with a lot of chases, some trap-grabs and killing all of them and at the end ended up without a pip...
Its even worse seeing you ending up killing all and getting a downpip
But with the current ranking system there are killers which rank easier than others.
-
I played against TrueTalent once, a camping and tunneling nurse...
I am not that sad if he does not find any games, this dude is simply unpleasant.
-
I heard its a bannable offense to block the basement stairs, dunno for sure though...
I got blocked by a pig once while having a head trap, she just turned around to let the chase drop and simply waited until my head exploded and there was nothing I could have done (other than to report her afterwards for exploit).
-
I have to say that I did it too once or twice.
As @altruistic sayed it is just frustrating to slug me because you are greedy. I see that this is not the way to go, but have you ever concidered just killing the third one and go with a fair 3k?
Yeah, my argumentation sucks, i know and i am not proud of it. But i guess it was allready said that the "hatchplay" in this game sucks at all.
-
I´ve read in a german forum that you need to:
- hit someone with feral frenzy
- hit another survivor within the same activation
- then go back to the first survivor (not neccessarily in the same feral frenzy) and send him into dying state with your ability
I personally played some Legion allready but I only have 2 out of 30 or whatever.
-
I think its an ok perk.
Its like all the Hex totems, its strong when it comes into use, but it easy to conter. As allready said by small game (i allready put Small Game into my standard build just because of the exessive amount of Ruins out there).
I personally use it sometimes as killer, but I also have don´t rage if I encounter it as a survivor.
I allready played with people who are experienced enough to tell whether the killer has NOED (after the activation) just by looking on his movement speed, but I am not able to do that.
-
So I tried it now a few games and I guess it kinda worked?
Here are my thoughts:
- I think it was luring the killer into a false sence of security (I didn´t ask them), like "hey there are 3 gens left, i can take this chase" when actually there are 3 gens on seriously progressed
- at least once i noticed how the killer wasted some time where he surveyed the proximity
- I guess it should be more than 50%, maybe like 60-75 %
I just want to say thank you for this tip!
-
This wall of text actually hurt my eyes.
-
Never heard an survivor actually saying he is genrushing, because thats mostly made up. its not as if survivors look on their watch and say "Oh i guess its gen rush time". Unless there are several guys with high-end toolboxes its not a genrush, its simply playing the game.
I go with @Speshul_Kitten and doubt it really happened this way.
Another thing is, i too play killer, i am not the lowest of all ranks (but not the highest either to be honest), i am currently rank 6 and i see it rarely. Just once on a survivor that wans´t an Ash.
When i get defeated by the survivors its mostly due to completly different perks, or maybe not even to perks but to the exessive amount of pallets, long loops or even unfair map designs.
Tell me, when do the people with their nasty MoM come? Do i need to get to the red ranks? I heard you dont find games anymore once you are there...
-
I totally aggree with you!
But i guess it is not as easy as it sounds. I dont know their exact firm-structure, but usually you have like artists and concept artists and so far and so on and none of them can code and therefore they can´t fix bugs.
Then there is the thing that in order to keep a game alive you have to bring out new content on a regular basis.
And then there are i guess a 1000 other reasons. I don´t think that they intentional suck at fixing bugs or that they got lazy or smth...
I am still believe in Behaviour Interactive!
-
It would actual save me quite alot of time. When 2 or even 3 survivor disconnect i usually let the rest do the gens, let them unhook each other and let them out. Its not their fault that their team lacks the will to fight.
-
Maybe i have just a déjà-vu, or i indeed read this the 5th time today. Three times in the Survivor section and only once where it belongs...
-
@LightsOut88 Maybe if you see this builds neccessary, then its maybe the games way to tell you that this rank is to high for your actual skill-level? I really dont want to be rude, its just as it is.
I am stuck in the purple ranks and thats ok i guess.
As for @bendermac
The dark times are long past... have you experienced pallet vacuums, the ultra long loops like the old cow-tree, or the time when a SWF group could tell each other which perks the killer uses?
The dark times are long gone. I really would like to see the distribution of killer and survivor ranks atm, but from what i see there are far more red killers than red survivors.
-
I got hit once or twice in several killer games.
Once by a David King that after beeing unhooked (and not tunneled) tried to be ballsie and just got downed again. When i than picked him up and got striked it was more a surprise than a problem.
Regarding the replies here, i would say that there is a huge DS-epidemic ongoing and that it really broke the game. Oh wait...
-
Wouldn´t it then be possible to mori someone each game?
Let´s have an game example:
I use Hex: Ruin as a way to delay the game at the start and some sort of tracking perk (Whispers, Discordance, etc.) and then chase my victim across the map and use the mori as soon as i can.
I will only have this mori in this game cause i used it that early, but if i am lucky my Ruin did its job good enough that only one or two gens are done, but one guy is allready dead which puts the Survs on a sirious disadvantage.
Would that be possible? Do I understand it correctly?
Ok, i like the idea of beeing able to mori someone at my own will without having the offering burned. My personal experience is that if there is someone really annoying you usually don´t have a Mori, and when you do have a Mori the survivors are "harmless" (lacking a better word for it).
My idea is to make the Mori a build-in mechanic, that has to load over several games (with a method yet to be defined, maybe your way is a good one) and is banked up to 4 Moris. A killer can then choose to Mori someone if he sees it appropriate (maybe cause of t-bagging or because he needs the slow down the game a bit).
The positive side effect, you would have another way of punishing toxic survivor behavior beside the classic facecamp and tunnel.
-
I started playing David for 'We´re gonna live forever' and extra BP. Then i mained him because of the cool jacket from the Chinese New Year event.
I mean BLING BLING MR KILLER.
One of the last really exclusive skins.
-
That sounds completly counterintuitive, but ill try it today.
-
And why are you posting this in the Survivor section of the forum?
Also there are better things to get salt with, but hey nice try anyway, keep going.
-
Hmm i guess you could try 2 things
- run around in cicles (360 him) and hope that he misses his chainsaw
- Play Billy yourself with exactly the same insta-rev and study how others avoid it
But i guess there is a reason that Billy counts to the A class killers :/
-
@MystiKasT thats a solid perk build for beginners without DLC perks (but even later on it would be solid)
Take BS, as the others mentioned its a great help when chasing people.
Has anyone every compared BS and Spirit Fury? I was wondering which perk i would benefit more of, since BS also helps to kick gens but SF breaks the pallet instant in a chase.
-
The perk is out there since what, 2 days now?
Maybe i get the wrong suvivors or anything, but i have seen it like three times or so? It was annoying but nothing to crazy.
I mean i support your effort and all, but shoudnt we wait at least 2 weeks or so?
-
I have alot of fun playing the plague. Had some good games and some not so good games, but to be fair i dont have the perks i wanted to use and that makes a big difference later.
I think she is fine as she is now, a solid mid tier killer.
-
@Master said:
Do you get a reward from your mom for reaching rank 1 or is there another reason why you want rank 1 so badly?
Also, I still see other players managing to keep at rank 1 consistently, so maybe you need to simpyl git gud? :D
@Master are you really bullshitting him beeing ambitious?
I dont like the new ranking system either, it forces me to play a way i don´t wanna play and ignores the fact that my way is suffice to get out.
Besides @Ash_Housewares be proud to be rank 4! I really thought i am good in this game, but atm im more like rank 8 and stuck...
-

Thanks for your opinion, i actually kinda enjoy her as seem several other kilers i played against.
But hey, feel free to make suggestions for a new killer!
-
@DocOctober said:
Why shouldn't Killers tunnel? It's the most effective way to get rid of a Survivor as quickly as possible. Each sacrificed Survivor greatly lowers the efficiency of the remaining Survivors, thus greatly increasing your chances as Killer to win the game.
Sorry not sorry that there's a human being behind the Killer and not an AI that can be programmed to be stupid and always make its life as Killer harder for itself by only going for the healthy Survivors.
Because the killer is the main factor whether or not the game is enjoyable for the survivors?
Have you ever played as a survivor and gotten tunneled three games in a row? Playing survivor is unlike playing killer where you just can equip smth clutch and win the next game garanteed to relieve stress.
-
A solid 3, but maybe i was to harsh concidering that i still play it every day and have my fun.
My biggest point is that the new ranking system at least for suvivor is crap and punishes me for the way i want to play the game even though i escape.
-
Did they change it recently?
I got all the adept achievements (not including licensed) even the very recent once Plague/Jane.
Didnt even took me too long to achieve, both on purple ranks (red before the new ranking system) for kilers and survivors.
-
Usually i like the "fallout themed music" like the 20' till the 50' (i can totally recommend the youtube channel of BIGSLMAN).
But lately i listen to alot of classic. It came when i needed music for work and vocals just disturb my concentration, so i started to listen to soundtracks of games or movies and later i found myself listening to Vivaldis "winter".
If anyone would had told me this 10 years ago, i would have laughed... :P
-
Is´nt Bill somewhat licensed too? :D
-
To be fair, Ruin is a pain in my arse too, but its not OP. You can easily use Small Game to find it (which is generally a great perk to learn totem spots).
And after its cleansed the killer has no use from it any longer.
Btw is gen tapping still a thing?
-
Its sometimes really funny to go back and forth between killer- and survivor forum, cause the experiences are invers^^
Killers pretend they have no chance against the evil genrushing survivor, and they claim that killers are all tunneling/camping monsters which need to be nerfed again.
