  • Didn't buy him, have no plans to until console is = PC.

  • I understand you are waiting and observing Legion. However, there are many respectful threads that offer a ton of ideas for Legion, while keeping his power intact. Is there a possibility that his power could be changed to something more fun for Survivors and more useful for Killers?

I understand how you can interpret it that way. In my opinion it is still cheating whether it was pre-planned or not. For me the point is simply that I refuse to allow a survivor and a killer to team up in a way that prevents me from even truly participating in a match while profiting at my expense. I do not think I have any obligation to remain in the match at that point. The only thing I do by staying is give them points for abusing the system whether you think it's cheating or not, and I simply won't allow them to do it.

You should have stayed in the match. The only thing you do by DC'ing is hurt yourself and open up the possibility of the ban being applied to you

Go with the Legion's Blessing. This is a good idea, and I enjoy the flavor. It's just as good as @MongByeolBuddies 's "Mob Mentality."

Sorry to message you again, but, do you mind if I use some of the suggestions from your Legion megathread?

  • @mmain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/894966#Comment_894966

Perhaps. I don't use it. Doesn't fit with my play style. I never complain that I don't have it in those situations where it would have come in handy. I have a limited number of perk slots. I use the ones that I have found to be of most benefit to me. If this post had been about how upset I am that people tunnel legitimately then suggesting DS is perfectly reasonable. On the other hand to actually suggest I should have to run a perk to counter cheating? Come on.

I still don't think it is cheating. If the Killer and Survivor had messaged each other before the game, I would 100% agree. But this, this just seems like a jerk move from his part.

I mean, the survivor doing the farming in that situation will 100% get banned if reported.

You and I both know that isn't true.

  • @Venom368 said:

Farming your teammate, without giving them the choice to not participate*

As in, as soon as they get hooked, you unhook them, the killer downs them and rehooks them, until they die. Both instances I mentioned of streamers getting banned because of this was near the start of the game were the teammate had under 3k points.

This happens a lot in my games.

  • @mmain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/894927#Comment_894927

DS is a perk that almost guarantees you will be tunneled after you use it. And the chances the killer was farming are slim. The killer would have been trying to get points by hitting the other survivor and hanging them too, but they weren't.

    Still, gives you a chance.

  • @Venom368 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/894900#Comment_894900

Selling out your teammates is not reportable, but working with the killer to farm them is.

Kind of? In that case, shouldn't farm games be bannable?

  • @mmain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/894914#Comment_894914

That isn't DC'ing out of rage. I rarely get angry. It was DCing on principle. I will not let a killer and a survivor benefit from cheating. It was obvious they were just going to hang me again and get their points. If they are going to cheat I have no problem DCing.

You cannot say that, you do not know. Can you read their minds?

  • @mmain said:

What misplay did I make? And "could have run DS to counter that"? Where do you propose I learn fortune telling so I know ahead of time that I will be running into a killer working with a survivor and I will need to run DS to counter cheaters?

DS is a must run perk for how good it is. You should have recorded what happened, then BHVR could have checked the chat logs to see if they had planned on working together. The Killer might've wanted to farm. You didn't wait and see.

    This:

"Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates"

is a reportable offense in the rules.

    Ah yes, pointing is reportable.

Unless it was recorded, they cannot ban for it.

  • @Destructa said:

There are many reasons to disconnect, when the game is not even balanced, there are many toxic players, sometimes the server itself disconnects you, when the killer just wants to be trolling, now they want to force us to finish a game no matter what, but I will continue disconnecting if they are toxic to me, I don't mind the punishment, after all I will only be one of the angry clients, oh and by the way the mods will give you a warning for "incite to disconnect", lmao this is rlly funny

Don't DC. It is against the rules. Once in a while is fine, life happens. DC'ing out of rage is childish.

  • @supersonic853 said:

I think the survivor may have been working with the killer shoulda recorded it and then reported instead of dcing.

Selling out your teammates isn't reportable. Jerk move, but not reportable unless it is premeditated.

im actually in favour with this when i saw the patch notes i was unhappy weaken the stall for more speed and i knew they were going to do something with the nemisis and beast of prey umm wont say expolit but will say an oppurtunity of old legion lol but what you have suggested is actually fair and would be fun i do hope the devs respond as i cant see how they can ignore all the negative feedback from people and this would seem to resolve alot of issues. @Peanits im going to tag a dev as i think it should be something to look

I would love for the Devs to look at this, as it is probably my most constructive creation. I think it resolves most of the major gripes with Legion.

I'd give you my intro, but i just can't any more. @Pulsar can help you with that.

They need to remove Deep Wounds for a start. Give us something else. IT would be so much easier to balance.

I've been summoned, who do I need to convince?

  • @SaintsxSinners said:

My lord you all need to calm down. Do you all want to develop, fund and balance a game? They have over a million people playing the game and a long list of gripes to address. Give them time. They aren't going to immediately respond to every single post considering they probably already saw it.

Name me one multiplayer (much less asymmetrical multiplayer) game that's perfectly balanced in everyone's eyes? I'll wait.

They're trying to add more content, fix bugs, and balance the new with the old. There's a lot to do and coding all of that isn't easy. Not to mention patches can cost upwards of a million dollars just to push out on a single platform. They can't push one out every week. Playtesting is fine but a lot of balance has to happen on live servers, even for AAA games. Legion was just released a year ago and they've worked on them what, two times already? There are issues older than Legion in the game. Balance isn't easy.

Just breathe, it's a game. You'll be ok.

@peanits. Bless you, I don't know how you deal with this lot day in and out.

Legion is the most prevalent issue and the one people have likely spent the most money on.

I do have great sympathy for the Devs, I cannot imagine dealing with people, myself included, day in and day out.

  • @Usui said:

Why do you think you deserve a response every single time something doesn't appease you?

We don't. However, there are pages upon pages of suggestions for Legion.

I think you and I would agree that Legion is fundamentally flawed. Deep Wounds cannot be balanced for both sides.

  • @GeordieKiller said:

im already a freddy main lol but i do enjoy legion but i feel like we cant drop this and wait for two years. i cant see devs hating on legion unless they all play survivors lol(jk), but i think it would be hard to deny that these changes they did was not well recived both in ptb and live (even though its been two days i have seen alot of negative feedbacks over the postive) even if it just a dev saying we will look at this suggestion or at least something to say that they acknowledge the concerns. i would be happy to just hear something along that lines

I understand they want to avoid knee jerk reactions. However, now would be a great time for some sort of official statement. Even if its just, "We aren't sure what to do, but we are working on it."

  • It is not bannable.

  • @FluorescentLemon said:

Just let Legion rest in peace. It's obvious the devs hate him. Maybe he'll get reworked in two years. Until then, take the Freddypill. He is fun.

    Nope, gonna keep at this.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Deep Wounds were never meant to kill. They are just there to have survivors do before doing other objectives. Complaining about Deep Wounds debuff is like complaining about End Game Collapse because you thought it was more fun to bully the killer after all the gens are done.

They are a 12 second stall. That is almost nothing especially when the Legion goes off to find someone else.

  • @HatCreature said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/891743#Comment_891743

Oh it's PER Survivor afflicted? I thought everyone just got a flat 3.

Nope, if you hit one Survivor, they get a 3% debuff. You hit another? Those two now have a 6%. Think of it as a small Thana. It still doesn't affect the rate at which you are healed and it doesn't affect Survivors not afflicted with FS.

  • @HatCreature said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/891398#Comment_891398

So I re-read it, I was incredibly bummed out when I read it the first time, and I do have questions now.

So the Legion we have now encourages players to pinball between Survivors with DW and the Pin add-ons, basically it says use your power even if they're injured. Your version doesn't have this. Once you hit everyone with FS they all have the 3% and if they choose not to heal then they're always a 1 shot but then you have no reason to use your ability anymore; you'd be exactly like Plague. Once she Breaks everyone she has no use for her ability anymore until someone cleanses, once everyone is injured by Legion they have no reason to use their power and it takes a long time to get their power back so it isn't even worth using to travel around the map since that would be a waste since it takes 30 seconds to do it again.

This version of Legion has no use for their power once everyone is injured, they become a M1 Killer. You can use FS to vault windows in a chase but that's stupid because of the stun which even if it is 3 seconds it is still enough time to get to a window or pallet meaning you wasted your time by using your ability. Why should Legion pinball between Survivors once they're injured? If they heal then they do but once they're injured it doesn't do anything.

The 3% stacks per Survivor afflicted. I saw the problem with Plague, no debuff. 12% isn't a lot, but it is an incentive. I have to balance with Thana and Dying Light in mind.

  • @HatCreature said:

I like this, it doesn't add anything they don't already have it just changes what they actually do and some values.

I really like the 3rd FS stab on an injured Survivor downing them, that encourages Survivors to heal and not just walk around injured. And to be honest it almost isn't even necessary since they're already injured so it's kind of a placebo effect of a power and if Survivors complain about that they don't understand that if you're injured you can get downed lol

The 3% debuff is fine and almost not worth it but you can stack it with Thana and Dying without it being oppressive. Legion is fast and using his power isn't punishing and nor does it actually inconvenience Survivors at all since they're just loud and bleeding everywhere and the debuff is negligible.

I would be happy with this and the change is super simple since it's changing very little.

My important question is, will it help them out of D-tier or do I need to add more? If I do, what would you recommend?

The BHVR team does not support any type of configuration changes in the menus on any platform.. There are still no display options on the PC after almost 4 years. There is no reason to think that will ever change. I'm guessing ALL of the BHVR team went day drinking rather than attend the "Menus 101" class for the Unreal Engine training course.

Outside of that, like most of the "we didnt want to let users change that since it's tied into our core game mechanics in fantasyland" missing menu/user options, you can sort it out, outside of the game.

Install the Xbox accessory app and create a profile with the sens. you want for DBD.

    How do I do that?

That's BS. They were banning people who abused wake up and the Legion infinite mend bug. They can figure this out just the same.

They did not ban people for using the Wake Up exploit or the Sprint Burst exploit.

Likewise, the Legion Infinite Mend was publicly announced before ANY bans happened. They announced it was a bug and anyone using those two specific add-ons would be banned.

Ouch. Sorry, I didn't realize it was THAT bad on console.

Yeah, it really sucks. On some maps, he is alright when the frames are good and the Survivors aren't good.

Most of the time, he is awful.

  • @HatCreature said:

''Hey can we have a 3 second stun?''

''No, I'm going to make your power less useful but I'll make you faster to compensate.''

''But I'm still punished when I use my power.''

''I can't make knee jerk reactions to something you've been complaining about for almost a year.''

''The speed buff to Legion is not a buff though, it was you reverting a huge nerf you put on them.''

''Ok that's it now your power is even weaker, DW is now effected by sprinting and no longer connected you at all so you can't control it.''

Why even bother complaining anymore when they don't understand what's going on. We asked for the Pin add-ons to be on hit and they straight up ignored us and made it on the 2nd person leaving the first person you hit with 0 pressure since Mending is crap and the Pin won't work on them and you're not chasing them. That makes no sense, that's stupid, in what world is that a good idea, oh my bad it's good for the Survivor because they don't have to suffer.

If you have any suggestions, feel free to post them on my thread. I am trying to make a redesign of Legion's power into a purely stalling power, instead of whatever it is now.

You need to be calm and respectful though, we need to communicate with the Devs in a respectful manner, despite not immediately getting what we want.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/891098#Comment_891098

I'm just rolling my eyes about it at this point.

Legion won't be good until they embrace his lethality potential.

Legion cannot have a lethal power without creating a new Killer. Deep Wounds is atrocious, we know that. It is either hilariously weak and unfun or hilariously strong and unfun.

In order to keep close to what the Devs designed him as, I had to make it into a legitimate stalling power with the ability to down if Survivors get cocky.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

Why does M1 need to drain the power?

    Like, at all?

Point taken. I figured there was a reason, but I cannot think of any.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

I know what you may be thinking, "DS is already way too powerful." But listen. As DS stands, it is a perk used to escape the killer's grasp through succeeding a skill-check available if being tunneled or you get picked up within 40-60 seconds after being unhooked. This is great; this part of the perk is absolutely fine.

Then what's wrong you may ask? Well, what if the killer brings in a Mori and you have DS ready to go? Well...you're screwed.

I've had so many games where I go against a tunneling killer with an Ivory or Ebony yet my DS is activated.

What I think should be added is the ability to succeed a skill-check to prevent a Mori when the perk is active, successfully preventing the killer from Mori tunneling. The stun would be 10 seconds, giving you some actual distance and it would remove the killer's ability to mori you at all because he's a tunneling bastard and doesn't deserve it.

I just think this would be a welcome addition to prevent killers from bringing in ivorys to tunnel down the survivor that gave them the hardest time and Mori them. It's complete bull and isn't fair at all to the skilled survivors.

No. Standard stun and the ability to mori remains.

  • @Peanits said:

We respond to as much as we can, but we aren't watching only the forums around the clock. Odds are if a post is disrespectful or outright insulting, it's not going to get a response. There's a fine line between constructive criticism and insults, and the latter is not how you have a conversation with another person.

As far as the basic attack change goes, it's the same as the Pig. It's to create consistency between powers so it's easier to understand what a basic attack is and what works with it. Previously, it was a bit of a mess. Something like Sloppy Butcher would work, but NOED would not. Both activated on basic attacks, but both were treated differently with Feral Frenzy. Not only is this less confusing for someone new to the game, but it also makes it much easier for us to balance.

As for mending, previously it was too easy to get stuck in an endless loop of mending (with mending times of up to 20 seconds). This left people mending most of the time which isn't exactly thrilling gameplay. There's no interaction between the killer and survivor there.

The movement speed, vault speed, and pin changes were all common requests.

Regardless, the changes have only been out for a little over a day at this point, so we'd like to see what kind of effect they have before making knee jerk reactions.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/890425#Comment_890425

We've also commented on similar threads about that exact same thing- it's not coming back because people use it to dodge lobbies. It was never intended to come back.

I am no game developer, rather, I am an aspiring mechanical engineer. When we see a catastrophic problem, we don't ignore it. If we want to wait and see how it pans out, we immediately start working on a solution to fix it, even if we want to observe.

Legion has a badly designed power, that much is clear. You need to focus on finding a fix for that.

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/889250#Comment_889250

Thank you! Even with the speed the stun makes even traversal with Legion's power is bad in alot of cases.

True, but so long as you aren't using it to chase someone, the stun won't matter too much.

  • The statement to end this discussion on whether or not the Legion changes were a buff or a nerf needs to be made.

The most efficient way to play Legion is to never use his power in a chase. I've found that using it for mobility is far better than using it as a chase power, as it only extends chases.

That should tell you all you need to know. When a Killer's power is better used to traverse the map than to actually hit Survivors, we need to have a serious talk with the devs.

Since DW is no longer TR based, survivors who aren't mending or running will have their timer deplete.

That means Deep Wounded survivors who attempt to do generators, heal, open the Exit Gates, and so on will have their Deep Wound timer deplete. 😁

However, they are paused for a maximum of 12 seconds, which is pretty much useless. Legion has a stall power that is fundamentally broken and continues to be nerfed.

And i don't think they will rework him like freddy because he is not license dlc. Why spend resource and work on something that is not gonna sales and earns big money?

After all, it's all about business and money

Perhaps, but I think BHVR are good and genuine people. I think that there has been some massive disconnect between the Dev team and the Community at large. That clearly needs to be addressed.

I've even uninstalled the game. Will I be back? Right now that answer is a no. Maybe that will change, but for now, I can't fathom supporting this train wreck. Maybe after a bit i'll be back to yelling about Legion needing a buff but for now, it feels way too pointless to even bother.

Then, for the time being, I'll go ahead and take up that mantle. I still have hope. Unfortunately for you, everyone always comes back. It's a damn curse, I swear.

    So it still looks ridiculous?

That is so disappointing. All they had to do was make it so she grabbed the vault ledge before phasing through so she couldn't fake it. I really, really wish they had gone that route.

It does look rather silly, however, I am sure they were rushed and simply found an animation that worked.

  • Harsh, but ultimately the main point is correct.

BHVR was given pages upon pages of decent feedback and what they delivered was...very disheartening to say the least. They managed to make a weak Killer weaker, despite the Community wanting him to be both FUN and STRONG.

At this point, we all know Deep Wounds is a terrible power. They just need to redesign him.

That being said, I am not to the point that our poor Fanatical Legion Main is at, yet. I still hold out hope, for if he truly is done, I'll take up the fight to see Legion buffed.
