Also, speaking of being biased, weren't you the person who insisted old Ormond was balanced and that Nemesis was OP?

Was this before the swap to dedicated servers? Or can people still IP grab with dedi-servers
When it was p2p I imagine it was extremely easy to IP grab
It's on Xbox so it doesn't matter.
This was like a week ago.

I too play 50/50. 50/50 club?
Indeed. It's honestly more like 70/30 these days because I can't sit through the queue times for Survivor

Probably the person who said "if I de-pip you de-pip so kiss my ass"
Thry then proceeded to DDoS me for multiple hours. I've already gone to the police about someone DDoS'ing me once, I don't really want to do it again.
-
I try to play 50/50 so that I can understand issues from both sides. It was a decision I made prior to joining the Forums, since I was a Survivor main.

even after the patch you can guarantee when facing nemesis you will have one dc. It has consistently happened every nemesis I have played today. I myself have even been booted off. It tripped my router and forced my connection to stop working out of no where and I was runnin him just fine. Got away and started to heal and boop kicked off xbox live and out the game and then was reconnected after 10 to 15 secs. So prepare to have a survivor get booted every nemesis game and get a loss.
I've seen more crashes with Nemesis than with any other Killer.
-
I've crashed 18 times since the patch dropped.
My game is borderline unplayable on my One X.
It's a little bit difficult to enjoy the game.

Good idea, they'll never go for it though.

Never.
Idk if you want to bring up uncounterable lunges, because that kinda sounds like Dead Hard.

Mathematically, Killers have a 60%+ kill rate, as shown by the Developers.
Where is your "math" coming from?
There's a reason nobody uses those stats.
We know so little about how they were gathered that they are completely unusable in any argument.

Just a bad mechanic which shouldn't even existed. It is ludicrous that it once presented itself as a necessity.

It definitely was.
Hatch stand-offs were fairly common.

The gist is the same though. This game is a 1v4 and balance can't be thought of like a 5v5 or 1v1 game.
If Killer is too weak, then match making gets broken, too
Survivor has to be just slightly stronger, but not so much that no one plays killer. And that is a hard thing to balance
Mathematically though, Survivors can win with less skill than Killers.
It isn't even close. Survivors need to average like, 30-45 seconds in a chase and the Killer will LOSE if they don't tunnel.
-
@vvumper said:
I watch True a fair bit on youtube and I think he's wrong about survivor being too strong, killers being too weak in the sense that he always misses this very simple point
This game is 1 v 4 and therefore must be slightly biased towards favoring survivor
In order for matches to be made, playing survivor has to be slightly more appealing than playing killer.
Therefore survivors should be given a minor advantage to keep match making going smoothly.
To me it makes sense then that only ~20% of people should feel inclined to take on the challenge of playing killer, thus the in-game fairness can never be properly balance, as match making is much more important for the overall health of the game
Even so, there's few Killers playing.
My Survivor queues are 10 minutes plus.

- Can't say/idk
- The game can never be balanced but considering this forum has posts of The game is killer or survivor sided i would say the core balance isn't far off.
- I definitely agree on survivor, very inconsistent amount of BP per match. Killer is still long but it's bearable and somewhat calculatable.
- a lot of the bp ones are kinda weird. Dark mist doesn't really do much
- Yeah. Otzdarva did a perk rating video of all of them and so many were 1 or 2 stars, and i agree with his reasoning.
- My only issue is that corn maps with stalking killers.

Speaking for myself (because I also consider this to be their biggest release), Resident Evil is a FAR larger property than Stranger Things. It's a media empire encompassing dozens of games, novels, films, action figures and more that has existed for a quarter of a century. That, paired with DBD's own five year anniversary, makes this the biggest milestone in the game's history to me.
Disagree.
Stranger Things is much more mainstream and much more popular than Resident Evil, at least in the US
-
@th3 said:
Don’t balance based on what people post on the forums since 99% of the time they are incorrect or just biased. Same with streamers.
That's literally every player tho.
Everyone has a bias.

@Seraphor said:
Crossplay shouldn't ever be a problem, if there are weaknesses on one side, they need to be addressed.
For example, controller joystick deadzones on console. These are bad, even by console game standards, and make playing a ranged killer much harder than it needs to be, and it's already harder than using a mouse to point and click on what you want to hit.
Another example is the performance issues that Console has faced for years.

I was actually just about to post this exact same thing.
I haven't noticed any problems that I can attribute to the existence of cross-play. To my mind the option simply provides more people to play with. Having grown up with consoles yet doing most of my gaming on the PC I also feel that all of the machines are valid and don't support the "console vs PC" debate at all.
People with mice may have quicker control (I play the PC version with a 360 controller - heresy, I know) but there are so many variables in this game that I doubt it makes a substantial statistical difference. Beyond that, all things are pretty much equal to me. The Switch Lite version is essentially a 1:1 port of the PC version, and I've played games that mingled the two in all possible configurations. All of it's the same to me. So I find cross-play fine, I just wish that console players could see and respond to my messages.
I'd just like performance on Console's to be fixed.

When people got sick and tired of the ######### optimisation, combined with PC players joining in because it's bricking us now.
Yeah, I think people are just fed up with DBD in general.
The only thing that will get BHVR to fix the game at this point, is a significant loss of sales.

They all pretty much do the same thing.
You could maybe get Weskar or Birkin, but I doubt it. Birkin would function very similarly to Nemesis.
Also, you call anything other than RE boring. You're hella biased.

It's not, it's a consequence to the bad optimization. If the game was running smoothly as intended, the killer wouldn't be different from pc
That doesn't change the fact that Blight was borderline unplayable on Console.
It's why a lot of Console players think Spirit is better than Nurse. We can actually play Spirit, whereas Nurse is much harder to play on Console.

Yes console is indeed locked on Ultra. Just having the option to lower it would give us a way to get back significant performance.
Sadly we do not.
I think it's on high, not ultra. There are a lot of missing effects from PC's on Ultra.

No it shouldn't have been fixed the first day. It should have been tested before they had to commit to the release date and then pulled. If they had delayed the launch of the new chapter we could all still be enjoying the pre 5.0.0.0 version.
I can wait for Nemesis, I can wait for the new map, and I can even wait for the event.
It was tested.
There were known issues for both PS4 and Xbox One listed in the release day Patch Notes.
They tested this ######### oj Console and decided to push it out anyway.

She's only supposed to be 15 in the first season? Holy #########, I guess I missed that. The actress looked like she was 20. She and Steve looked like they were about to start college.
Steve is 17 in S1.
He graduates after S2 ends and is 18 in S3.
Nancy is 17 in S3, so is Jonathan.

Ah can smell youuuuuuuuuuuu...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2304402#Comment_2304402
These are some good ideas, I hadn't really thought about Jack being able to harness the molded power on a smaller scale. Changing into the rest of the family members would be...really weird, but if it hypothetically meant that he could be in the game I'd be down for it.
A spiked paint roller? Is that what it is? I always assumed that it was one of those manual grass trimmer things.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2304436#Comment_2304436
I like all of these ideas (and would LOVE a mall map in this game. Profoundly.) but the only problem I see is that Eleven is only a teenager, so I couldn't see the developers or garden-variety finger-waggers being okay with the idea of her being hooked.
(I haven't seen the third season yet so if her age wouldn't be the issue that I think it would, I'm not yet aware).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2304429#Comment_2304429
Is this your first time playing RE7? If so, stick with it. It's a really great game. Loses steam toward the end but that seems to be an RE trademark.
Nancy is 15 in S1, which is her default outfit.

Whatever. Victor is super strong.
You just park Charlotte next to the hooked survivor and go to town with a practically undodgeable attack from Victor. Victor is one of the best 1v1 abilities in the game.
Not on Console.
Every time you charge his attack, the game freezes and that was before the RE update.
-
Not after the travesty that's been this patch.
Besides, a Stranger Things 2 Chapter would be more likely and WAY more fun.
Think of it, Starcourt Mall as the new map.
Will and Eleven as Survivors.
Will's perks could center around aura-reading since he's connected to a Entity-like being already.
Eleven's perks could center around moving pallets and rage.
Killer could be the Demo-dog.

Thats really sad. But I can understand why, they lost money letting you keep it.
They were advertised as being non-sets.
When people bought them, BHVR changed them to be linked, which means you'd be spending money on a set that doesn't change the head of the Survivor

bhvr are already on really thin ice right now. A combination of a year of disappointing patch after disappointing patch, seemingly prioritising all the wrong things, recent leaks I cannot discuss any further and more everyone at BHVR, including the moderators of the forums, need to tread carefully to avoid a community-wide outrage.
Though, of course, the thread can easily be closed once the issues with console optimisation have been fixed.
The fact that PC is now also experiencing the issues Console has faced for years doesn't help.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2301657#Comment_2301657
I made the comment that I did because I've explained the cosmetic issue half a dozen times today (in short it was a bug, no one is entitled to it, BVHR has every right to eliminate it for any reason they choose, and there are probably more complex reasons for their decision than simply "we want to take things away from our players") yet now that streamers - players seen as some kind of authority on all things related to this game - are complaining, the misplaced sense of victimization is going to gain that much more traction.
In other words, it would be really nice if this community could actually have a reasonable discussion without seeking the perceived expertise of a streamer to determine the direction of the narrative.
Ignoring your hatred for streamers, the cosmetic glitch was something that nobody complained about.
It makes sense for licensed characters, but not for unlicensed one's and it really does seem like a giant middle finger since NOTHING else was fixed.
