I said Plague is worse than Legion and that Ghost face and death slinger are better than Legion. Re-read. But anyways Plague is a bad killer yes, and Death slinger and Ghost face while also not the best are good.
.....I'm sorry?
How is Plague bad but Deathslinger and Ghostface good?

I know trapper takes knowledge that was the point. That you can always oversimplify things but that it doesn't mean there isn't some nuance to it.
Even Myers needs to know where he can stalk and where he can't cause some places are a huge timewaste to stalk in
There's really not a lot to learn with Legion that you wouldn't already be applying with other Killers.
He's purely M1 with slightly better information gathering.
-
Probably because booning a totem is a guaranteed investment AND doesn't require you to tedious scour the map to make absolutely sure you got all 5 totems, else you may as well not have cleansed any at all
-
I've definitely met people who have insisted that Haddonfield is Killer-sided.
When I asked "why" they never answered :(

With that logic trapper takes 3 seconds to learn. Place trap, hope someone steps in it.
Myers wouldn't even take a single second. Look at people, stab them
It's always easy to oversimplify things.
Judging the amount of distance you can make, knowing when you should or shouldn't use FF on injured survivors and actually processing the information you get instead of " look for nearest red shiny and go to it" are all mistakes i see Legion players make and are things that make a difference once you start paying attention to them.
You'd have made a better case if you wouldn't have mentioned Trapper. You've got a point with Myers, but Trapper actually takes some knowledge.
-
After putting maybe 300 hours into Legion alone, I can for sure say they are the worst Killer.
They have probably the lowest skillcap, the only power that can't down people (or result in them being downed) and they actively encourage Survivors to spread out and do gens separately, which not only CRIPPLES their power, but is also THE LAST THING YOU WANT TO HAPPEN AS A KILLER.
They are a poorly deisgned Killer at a fundamental level and they need to completely rework him.
-
Don't look at me.
I ######### called that it would be an awful decision from the start.

The community has asked for killers nerfs/survivors buffs for years, devs have listened to them, high skilled killers have massively left.
All killers i face are barely average now, escaping like 80% of my trials.
Survivors queue times have increased a lot at high MMR, BHVR is trying to find some solutions to it but cannot find something good.
That's what DbD became, a massive joke with devs unable to fix it.
Sad when i see some other independent small companies putting a ton of awesome work on their games : GTFO (game became awesome with rundown 6), Propnight (10 patches with many improvement on many aspects in 2 weeks), A Long Dark (well awesome game now), Don't Starve Together (many changes and rework every 2 or 3 months), Hell let loose (same but with performances issues unfortunately)...
How do those devs are able to do it and not BHVR that has 10 times more means ? It's time for this community to become more demanding.
I disagree.
If that were the case, I'd be getting weird Killers too.
And I am, but not that often. More often than not they have over 1K hours.
If this were an issue with Killers leaving, you'd expect to see low-MMR Killer and high-MMR Survivors.
-
@Myla said:
I noticed this happens a lot when the queue time is long so the game just gives you every MMR there is so you don't have to wait any longer.
At night where Survivor queue time is suffering the game just flat out gives baby killers and at day time there's some competent killers.
I dunno.
Most of my Survivor queues have been around 5 minutes.
But yeah, the "skill-based matchmaking" is really just "who-waited-the-longest matchmaking"

You’re entitled to your opinion ofc but I have to thoroughly disagree. CoH is one of the strongest perks in the game and can flat out break some killers sometimes no matter how well they play, whereas NOED doesn’t even do anything half the time and is only strong when survivors misplay badly whilst refusing to counter it.
Hey, so, can you look where I said CoH was weak? Can you find that?
No, because it's not.
People just take issue whenever NOED gets brought up as an unfair perk.

Yup.
Today's games were bonkers. It feels like queue times at very high and low MMRs were getting too long and so BHVR tweaked something to increase the speed at which the search widens.
Game 1 on Doctor: 1 very solid chap, 3 decent players. Won, but only because one of them rage DC'd midway through.
Game 2 on Doctor: I get absolutely skunked by a 3man SWF and a 1900 hour monster. Way, way more skilled than me - and I've been working hard recently to improve. End up getting 2 hooks.
Game 3 on Hag: 3 very good players, 1 pretty new player. I get a narrow 3k.
Game 4 on Hag: 1 okay player but definitely weaker than me, 3 almost complete newbies. I stomp, give the last chap the gates. Feel bad.
Game 5 on Hag: 4 console players, all very solid. 1k, but extremely close.
Game 6 on Cenobite: 4 extremely new players with almost no idea of what to do. The Leon was PC player had 30 hours, and was the better of the 4. I stomp.
Game 7 on Cenobite: All console players, all crazily good and I get completely rolled on Yamaoka. Get a 1k, but only because the rest left the Meg behind.
Game 8 on Demo: Very even game on Fields. 3k, but could have been a 1k easily.
Game 9 on Demo: I get crushed by a 3man SWF on RPD. Nightmare game. Again, opponents are so coordinated and know the map so well that it was hard to even get any hooks.
Game 10 on Demo: 2 very new players, 2 decent players. I have 2 people dead at 3 gens and everyone else on their last hooks at 4, with me already easing up. Give the remaining two the gate and call it a night in frustration.
So basically, 3 games were pretty even. The remainder was either a situation where I was matched against several very new players or a group far more experienced than me. No idea what's happening.
Yeah, I'm streaming right now and just got a match where my playtime outnumbered the 3 other Survivors playtime by over 7 times.

Honestly in the right hands both are very powerful but lets make sure we get the entire situation out there before so it can be fairly judged.
COH takes 15 seconds to bless a dull totem and about double that for a Hex Totem. Medkits were already considered by most to be the most useful and beneficial item in the game and healing was already a strong counter to most killer's pressure. COH catapulted that into the stratosphere the way that it currently is now. In some cases killers can no longer hit and run which was a good strategy to not only build pressure but to also allow the Killer to break off of unfavorable chases. Now with COH that is no longer possible as it allows a safety net where the Survivor can heal within seconds.
Devour Hope on the other hand, is very different as even though it is powerful and can inflict a permanent Exposed status on Survivors it can only be done after it gains 3 or more tokens. That is very different from COH in a number of ways. You have to chase, down, hook and be at least 24 meters away from the hook to even gain 1 token. This process in and of itself can take several minutes unless the killer can snowball multiple downs and hooks while being 24 meters away from any hooked Survivor long enough in that situation to get a token. Also, it can be broken before getting any real value out of it as it is lit up at the beginning of the game therefore making it easier for it to be destroyed. Even Ruin: Undying, which protects this perk somewhat, isn't strong enough to protect in a meta where Survivors are actually "doing bones" (the irony) and unless you have a map with decent spawns (Midwich, Lerys, some swamp maps) then the majority of the time it will be found eventually before the Mori aspect even becomes a threat.
NOED on the other hand, is somewhat situational and can't really be gauged as well since it only activates after the Survivors power all five generators. In other words, it only activates in most cases when the Survivors are in a position to win the entire game and acts as one last hurdle to go against. It may get some kills unfairly but in most cases it can only be used effectively is to have a build that is made around the end game, such as NOED, Undying, and No Way Out or the other Survivors are making stupid altruistic plays.
Overall I find it truly ironic that the overall Totem mechanic, which was brought in by a Killer, is getting more mileage with a Survivor perk that is honestly more useful in more situations than any other Hex perk in existence right now. In my opinion it should be brought down to size a bit without taking a total hammer to it because the only alternative would be to bring Hex perks to the same standard to actually have an even playing field but that already happened once with old Ruin: Undying and we all know what happened to it.
Again, people are confusing the issue I have.
As to the question of whether CoH or Devour Hope is stronger, it's CoH. As to whether CoH or NOED is stronger, tbh, I think they are equal.
My issue came with the guy saying that being able to heal yourself was a more impactful effect than being able to instant down/mori Survivors.

Well how does this make sense? No totems get done in solo Q so nothing would change. Also, what is gen rushing? You mean doing the literal only objective you have as a survivor?
I was mostly using it for comedic purposes.
In all honesty, Solo's do totems. The issue is that they can only do 2-3 most times.

And it's the healing, since it's the Killer who has to scrabble for every second of every match.
When a hit can take upwards of 2 minutes to happen, given the jungle gyms, pallets, and other BS, and be erased in a handful of seconds; the healing is stronger.
When the hit can take 2 minutes, and 3 gens can pop in 2 minutes, and the healing erases that hit in under 30 seconds; the healing is too strong.
I'm sorry, but if your first hit takes TWO MINUTES, the issue isn't the game, it's you.

@NOEDENJOYER said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2703884#Comment_2703884
What!? COH is the strongest survivor perk and easily triumphs over these two killer perks.
NOED? Against good survivors, it gets you one kill, at best. Since everyone leaves asap, or they break it, and save, making you lose. Or, if they're stupid and altruistic, you can get more, but that's down to the survivors mistakes, not the strength of the perk or the killer outplaying them. Same for Devour Hope, a minute of exposed isn't really anything unless you're on a really strong killer at the right place, at the right time. Generally, it'll get you one or two quicker downs, but that's nothing compared to COH.
COH makes it so survivors are always healthy, making killers unable to snowball and forcing them into the 12 chases/12 hook game, which is impossible given how all the gens are typically done after 4-6 hooks.
We are talking about which effect is more powerful.
Instant downs plus mori's or healing.

Before boons, I would've agreed with this. But now? Rewarding survivors for using COH even more, hell no? We don't need more incentives for survivors blessing the most powerful perk into the game.
Tbh, I'd let it count Blessed Totems as well.
Any Dull or Blessed Totem that remains in the Trial after the final generator has been done will count towards NOED stacks.

Respectfully, they weren't a deathsquad if you won against them.

Offerings max potential profit:
Max Payout - Offering Bloodweb cost = total actual profit
Brown Flowers/Wreaths (50% in one category):
4000 - 3000 = 1000 gain
Yellow Flowers/Wreaths (75% in one category):
6000 - 4000 = 2000 gain
Green Flowers/Wreaths (100% in one category):
8000 - 5000 = 3000 gain
(Yellow) Sealed Envelopes/Hollow Shells (25% in all categories):
8000 - 4000 = 4000 gain
(Yellow) Escape Cakes/Survivor Puddings (100% in all categories):
32.000 - 4000 = 28.000 gain
(Green) BPS (100% in all categories):
32.000 - 5000 = 27.000 gain (but for all players)
(Green) Bound Envelopes (survivor exclusive, 25% in all categories):
8000 - 5000 = 3000 gain (but for all survivors)
That's assuming that you actually fully fill up that category of scoring.

Fair. But I always say they don't exist, just as I can't complain for a Survivor camping a jungle gym; it's just not something that exists to be complained about.
Saying they exist as strats gives salty Survivors a foothold to scream about them.
Sure, they are all annoying and extremely unfun strategies to be on the receiving end of.
I understand why someone would be upset if they spend the entire match on the floor; or if the Killer decides that they and they alone need to die; or if the Bubster decides to plant himself in front of you for the whole match.
Unfortunately, there's no way to really curb these unfun strategies without punishing innocent players.

CoH is broken. A 100% increase to healing. Plus a purple medkit with addons. I suck at math, so feel free to tell me how fast you'd heal your friends or yourself, since I'd get the numbers wrong.
Exponential plus perks means you can get yourself up in a handful of seconds, infinitely.
Shadow Step means the Killer literally can track Survivors or read auras inside it.
Every single boon totem is broken AF. The only 'balance' to them is that Survivors can't spread them out.
- Again, we agree that CoH is busted. It's not better than certain Hex perks though.
- Exponential is so situational it may as well not matter. You have to go down in a Boon's range AND the Killer has to slug you AND you have to have other recovery perks.
- Shadow Step doesn't deafen sounds or hide blood. It really isn't difficult to track Survivors. The biggest thing it does is stop aura-reading.
The only Boon perk that needs changes in CoH.

I dodge, because you know they are all on voice comms, all have D.Strike and Dead Hard, and will use every cheese strat.
And once you lose; they will insult you in endgame chat.
But the second you do anythign they consider 'camp', 'slug', or 'tunnel' (these don't exist, BTW); you know they are going to insult you in endgame chat.
It's always a sweatfest that ends with the SWF screeching in rage or screeching insults because Cheat With Friends + voice comms gave them the win.
I'm pretty sure camping, tunneling and slugging all exist.
They are legitimate strategies

My reasoning is fine; Why do Survivors get Totem effects stronger than any Hex, AND get to reapply them forever?
Imagine if Killers could re-ignite Hex totems; Survivors would screech onto the forums to cry about how OP that is. But if it's in their favor; it's a-ok!
Again, CoH isn't stronger than any Hex. That's just wrong.
The issue is that they can be re-applied infinitely.

NOED isn't fine.
But yeah, I imagine CoH will be omega-nerfed in the Mid-Chapter

@AngyKiller said:
Boons should not exist, period.
Why do Survivors get totem effects that are stronger than any Killer Hex, AND they can infinitely re-apply them?
The point of Hex's was that they were too strong to take effect all game. Then along comes Mr Boons and now Survivors get effects 100000x stronger than any hex, can overwrite hexes, and can reapply them if the Killer snuffs them. Because the Killer is totally not fighting for every second of the match in order to kill (sarcasm).
Circle of Healing's effect is not stronger than Devour Hope or NOED, sorry to burst that bubble.
CoH is too strong, so at least you got that part right, but your reasoning is wack.

Nope.
If you cleanse 4 totems, you still eat instant downs until you find that pesky 5th. Plus, you wasted almost a full minute of just cleansing totems for nothing.
In my suggestion, every remaining totem is an instant down. If Survivors didn't cleanse ANY totems, 5 instant downs is more than enough to ######### them up. If they cleansed a few, then they get rewarded and don't have to deal with as many instant downs.
-
I'd rather it give you instant down per totems remaining in the match.
This would punish gen-rushing SWF's that everyone hates but wouldn't unfairly punish Solo's.

My whole point is when people are talking about bad they killer games are or balance of the game or if u simply just disagree with them then they bring up mmr stating your killer mmr could be low because you don't run into seal team 6 every game like they claim they do.
There is something to be said for that though.
Obviously, if you are good st the game, it's more likely you'll play against a hit squad. You just have to really take that statement and trust them. If what they are saying makes sense, and they clearly understand the game and what they need to do to win at high-level play, their claim may be true.
