They nerfed that jerk? Finally.
Of all the killer terror radiuses, his made the least amount of sense. How you gonna have a ranged killer with normal movement speed and have a terror radius that's practically non existent until he's in range to shoot you. Hated him since launch so whatever nerf he got, he deserved it
He doesn't have normal movement speed lmao

I’d say 5% would be good. Maybe have a bigger overcharge skill check base kit to stop gen tapping being so effective
Would that stack with PGTW?
-
Yeah.
Even if his nerf was justified (I do think the quickscoping was a little dumb combined with his tiny TR), he needed buffs to compensate because he wasn't a good Killer.
-
If you are on Console, I would advise you to make your profile private, so that only friends can see.
I've had some wonderful experiences and met wonderful people on DBD. Unfortunately, the bad far outweighs the good and you need to put your own mental well-being first.
-
Because some people couldn't control themselves and decided to say things that were racist, sexist, ableist ect ect in response to playing against someone they didn't like.
So, as usual, the actions of the few ruin it for the many. And also per usual, the system isn't really that good and blocks weird stuff.

If the DC penalty is removed, hackers will be a piece of cake... most of the players will start abandoning games for their pleasure, when they see something they don't like... out.
With DC penalty on, hackers are a problem I agree... but without DC penalty if the hackers make it unplayable now, thankfully not 50k players from steam alone are hackers... I think we will both agree the entire game will be unplayable.
If there is no system for such cases, we are going to suffer.. a lot more than now.
Which is why I said my preferred option was to fix the holding players hostage for hours on end.
-
@AngyKiller said:
No. Every time the DC penalty is removed; I can't finish a single match.
As Killer:
Find someone? Survivors DC.
Down someone? Survivors DC.
Pick any Killers besides the 'Survivor Approved' Killers (IE: Ones they can bully)? Survivors DC.
Certain maps load? Survivors DCs.
Use unapproved perks? Survivors DC.
As Survivor:
Certain maps load? Killer DCs.
Gens go too fast? Killer DCs.
Juke the Killer too much? Killer DCs.
Exit gates open? Killer DCs.
NEVER remove the DC penalty, or the game becomes literally unplayable.
Then fix the issue of hackers holding people hostage and/or being able to crash their game.

Get a low-tier killer you enjoy and "smurf" if you want to call it that, but memeing in the basement and playing hide-and-seek as the stealthy bois can be fun, relaxing, and if you're not a tool you can ensure that both sides get points, pips, and satisfaction.
MMR as implemented in DBD (half-assed and missing key components) isn't a good system. That doesn't mean it has to suck. It just means grade-ups aren't coming from my mains.
Again, if you smurf and "cheat" the system, you are disguising that issue.
We want it to be fixed, right? BHVR loves to go off of data, so show them that the system is dumb.

I don’t think you’ve read my whole post. These two perks combined are evil on Pinhead. Pinhead is also not a bad killer, he is certainly very strong.
Pinhead is not strong.
Would you rather those two perks be replaced with more gen slowdown? It thought we wanted MORE perk variety, not less.
-
Hoarder is okay on Pinhead.
Franklin's is kinda meh.
Why you would want to nerf two already bad perks on a bad Killer, idk.

Demogorgon being boring? What???
Yeah, especially before his buffs.
Iirc, he was the 2nd least played Killer prior to those changes.
He suffers because he is a jack of all trades, master of none. He doesn't do anything exceptionally well, he just does everything okay.
That's fine from a balance perspective, but he could've been so much cooler.
-
Not Demo. I've always thought he was really boring, hence his abysmal pick rate.
I would say basekit Blight and Old Billy were the best designed Killers.
-
I thought about that when there was a cheater in my game.
I stayed until they left instead.
-
It's basically just better old Ormond.
-
NOED just isn't a well-designed perk.
Much like Dead Hard and old DS.

That's literally what happens when you're outplayed all game.
Except we weren't.
We were fairly even and without NOED proc'ing, we likely would've had at least a 2 man escape, if not 3.
There was no time to cleanse totems, that's what I'm getting at. NOED's counterplay is unreasonable for the boost it gives to Killers.

Dead Hard is a different issue, but I've always argued for changes to it.

That also seems fair. Blight kept good pressure all game with 3 active perks (really 2 since PGTW and Ruin don't work at the same time) and kept you from having time to stop his 4th from activating, then used it to good effect when it did. What exactly is the issue there?
So then, what's the correct play? Simply to lose?
I don't believe in putting either side into lose-lose scenarios.

So what's the problem if he smurfs his account and then follows up by playing chill and casual, instead of try hard? This way he should stay at that relativ point, without sweating it and the MMR is kinda doing what it is supposed: providing fun for everyone.
Bonus points for providing survivors more fun experiences vs not so often encountered killers.
Its kinda the same like using NOED: you punch above your weight, some peeps claim that it destroys their fun and is unfair, but in the end its your call how to play the game and how to enjoy it.
For one, because that's not how the system is designed to work. If the system doesn't work correctly, then we need the data to see that. Smurfing is going to obfuscate the issue.
Likewise, it will also likely end up skewing Kill Rates and Escape rates, which is never good. That's how we get more Deathslinger situation's and I'm sure we don't want that.

Tracking the Killer, how many totems were cleansed, the map, how many players in my group and the result.

I would consider this fair. If a surv is worried about NOED he should break all totems.

Where did I say you were a survivor main? I said 'Survivors have chosen an arbitrary cutoff point; 5 gens, and decided this is a loss for the Killer'. So thanks for putting words in my mouth.
And you are right; SWF makes NoED useless.
But SWF makes 99% of anything Killer useless; the game, at base, is not designed for voice communication. It never was. Survivors are supposed to feel alone, even in a group. They are supposed to have no one to rely on but themselves, and even saving someone else is supposed to be a risk.
The developers flat-out ignore this fact, which part of what causes the gulf between SWF and SoloQ's. And is a large reason why most Killers are Z-Tier.
They should just add voice comms and balance around it. Not ignore the fact that voice comms utterly break the entire premise of the game wide open, and turn Killers & SoloQ's into SWF punching bags.
But back on the topic of NoED; balance HOW?
See, to me, NoED and Dead Hard fill the same role the game is MEANT to have; Information Blackout. Players on both sides have to play around the assumption these perks exist at any given time. Schrodinger's Perks; they both exist & don't exist in a match until observed. Then they collapse into a stable binary of 'Yes they do' or 'No they don't'.
Killers have to assume DH exists & bait it out/refrain from attacking, which buys Survivors precious seconds to get to another pallet. Or they can assume it does not exist, and either be rewarded or punished.
Survivors have to assume NoED exists and spend precious time doing totems, or decide it does not exist, and be either rewarded or punished.
You can't really change either without changing this stable equilibrium. Hell, I wish more perks worked this way; mind games that reward or punish taking risks.
But the devs threw 'Information Blackout' into the garbage disposal with SWFs, since with SWFs came Discord use.
I do not share that opinion.
Do you think Solo Q is OP like SWF?
I don't. They need help just as much as Killers do. So whilst it may be fair to tell the 4 man SWF with meta perks to spend 70+ seconds cleansing totems because there might be NOED, I do not believe the same can be said for the Solo Q gamers.

Why not? If you are good enough to ensure that a killer gets 0 hooks prior to the end game, you clearly had time to do all the totem even if it extended the match to double its length or the ability to find the 1 totem that spawned NOED before they manage to get a kill. To be honest that sounds far more like an overconfidence issue on the survivors end than something to attribute to a perk; the one shot ability should have literally zero effect on final out come.
Honestly, the more I read it, the more I regret trying to use an example that hasn't happened to me.
A more recent example would be this: A good Blight who was running Ruin, Undying and PGTW was absolutely hammering me and my friend. He had 7 hooks by the time the gens were done and 1 Kill. I was death hook, but everyone was healthy. He catches me with NOED and my friend out of position near the gate and I get downed. My friend begins running to the other gate as I get hooked. Blight catches up and manages to interrupt the gate opening by downing the girl on the gate. He gets a 4K.
That's where I usually see NOED come into play. On good Killers in close games.

I'd just like to interject and say that a lot of people don't care about MMR/results at all.
It's entirely possible that no hook Joe is having the time of his life or just relaxing/having a good time running around and getting bopped.
It's anecdotal, but I usually stream for some pals and chat while playing - I can get 0 hooks or 12 hooks and it's the same deal to me.
That's fine, I'm merely pointing out what the MMR system is a supposed to do.
If you aren't getting any Kills, you aren't supposed to "rank up". If you end the game with 5 hooks but two Kills due to NOED, you probably aren't really supposed to be going up in MMR and it likely will not be fun for you.

You can think whatever you want of me. Not you pointing out my "bias" when in every other thread where someone is complaining about killer in some form you are right there to come to their defense. It's no wonder people think you are a killer main (Yeah I have seen people call you that).
I play both sides and I am well aware that there are discrepancies in this game that allow for one side to out-pace the other. However, I am not going to compare Holding W or any of the things you have listed the same as flat out Camping. Not when I understand how tremendously easy it is to do it.
What if they had gotten a killer-sided map? Do you think OP would have simply... not opted to use that same playstyle? I don't think so. There is a reason this tactic is deemed as playing poorly (even by other killer mains).
Oh, I'm biased and I've never claimed not to be. Although, funnily enough, I've been called a Survivor main more often than a Killer main because of my mini-crusade against NOED.
I think we are arguing about vastly different things and I see no way for us to agree. I suggest we stop now because it's begun to become personal. It would be the responsible and adult thing to do.

You don't get it. Survivors are allowed any tactic to win. There is no unfun or overpowered tactic or strategy a survivor can employ. There's an excuse to why every single one is fine. But the killer can employ many tactics (in fact, most killer tactics are unfun!) that are unfair and the killer who uses it should be banned!
Or at least, that's the gist of what I get from survivor mains on these forums.
I'd rather stay away from us vs them arguments.

I don't get the question about MMR and SWFs?
You said 'So you think if a Killer gets 0 hooks in the trial prior to 5 gens being done but gets a 2K because of NOED it's fair?'
And I'm saying that yes, it is fair. 5 gens being done is not some sort of magical cut-off point for the Killer to get kills. No rule in the game states 'If the Killer has 0 kills before 5 gens pop; Survivors get to leave for free'.
As long as Survivors are in the trial; the Killer can kill them. This means that individual Survivor is not safe, and has not won, until they, personally leave. Which means they, personally, can be killed.
Which means NoED is doing what it's designed to do; kill at the end-game.
All this BS about 'not fair' is just whining, man. Survivors have invented a cut-off points for kills; 5 gens popping. And now they point at their own, made up rule, and scream 'This proves NoED is unfair! By Survivor decree, the Killer has LOST by now!'
I'll say it again: Until each, and every, Survivor is off that map; those that remain are potential kills.
What does it matter if they die mid-match or at the end? Other than some made-up cutoff point Survivors invented?
So I'm a Survivor main because I think NOED is unhealthy?
Oh, the MMR aside was meant to demonstrate how it is not fair to the Killer. Since he was obviously outclassed during the trial (ie, less than 5 hooks or 2 kills I would say is being outclassed) then it is certainly not fair to put them up against even more difficult opponents.
Likewise, how well, in your opinion, does NOED work against SWF? In my experience, it doesn't...at all. Because they can and will cleanse those totems. However, Solo players do NOT have that kind of time or coordination. NOED will almost never take out serious SWF players, but it almost always unfairly hits Solo Q players who, let's be real, have it rough already.
I am in favor of changing NOED because of that. I feel it is completely invalidated by having comms, but that it is simultaneously far too strong against Solo Q players. Also, please note how I said change, not nerf.

Whatever dude. You know what I mean. Celebration/Acknowledgement/etc. The things that leave a bad killer dreaming for who wins via taking "shortcuts".
I think you are biased and need to check your own double standards.
You believe "camping" is a boring playstyle but refuse to acknowledge the Survivor equivalent. Not only that, you will decry people for using camping in response to Survivors playing in an extremely efficient but boring way.
-
Supposedly, hackers are banned.
However, I've submitted video evidence for ~ 5 different cheaters and I have never received a response. It's not even like they were subtle hacking either.
I have one where I get blinded and stunned for around 30 seconds.
Submitted that one in September and I haven't heard a word since.

I am sorry but Camping is not the equivalent of those things. Even holding W at least takes some skill because you have to understand timing and know the map incredibly well.
Also even if I were to agree that he is meeting boring with.... Boring. I would never expect anyone to celebrate my boring playstyle. Especially when I've already said that Camping has elements that need to be looked at (and they are) and for a very good reason.
I don't believe OP is asking for celebration. They are asking that people check their own double standards.
Oh? And by your own logic, camping takes skill too then. You must know how to not get baited out when a Survivor goes for a grab. You have to know the map and the optimal hook spots for camping.

Yet were not changing Bubba any time soon...
Infinite Tier III Myers is going to pop that ######### before all 5 gens are done 99% of the time, so that's almost completely irrelevant.
And Bubba's camping ability is an issue. I'm just not sure about how to fix it without gutting the character.

I think you meant to say 'That does not seem fair to me', because you are not everyone.
And yes, it's fair, because Survivors can do this amazing thing called 'Cleansing totems'. WOW! Such bones! Much cleansing!
It's simple: the Killer brought a perk that only works in the end game. If Survivors are bad enough to not cleanse it before it procs, or after it procs, or to JUST LEAVE; the Killer earned his kills. Amazing how that works!
You claiming 'Blah, blah. Not fair' does not change that yes; it is fair. The Killer used a perk. A perk that can be removed before it triggers. A perk that only works in the end game. And he used it to GOOD EFFECT and got those 2 kills. Since he GOT the two kills, and he did not cheat or exploit glitches; he EARNED the 2 kills.
It's that simple.
I meant anyone in the trial. Apologies, I should have been more specific.
The Killer gets their MMR to go up. Which gives them (in theory) sweatier opponents. This will mean they continue to have a miserable experience.
Oh? Does NOED often work against SWF?

Come again? What is the cheesy boring tactic they did?
Have the game lottery pick Haddonfield? Cuz there is nothing more I hate than when a killer gives up on spawn.
"the survivors were very efficient, splitting up, doing gens, holding W incredibly early (which on Haddonfield.. bruh), body blocking for each other, using COH."
The OP even says they didn't have a problem with that. They should play to win. They say their issue is that the Survivors imposed a double standard of OP by being upset when OP played to win as well.
Both strategies are unfun and boring. It's always been my personal rule that if I'm trying to win, I can't begrudge the other side for doing the same.

@AngyKiller said:
NoED is just a Killer planning for the end game.
Remember: The Killer has not 'lost' just because all 5 gens pop. So NoED is not 'rewarding losing', because the Killer has not lost until the match ends.
Survivors are not safe until they leave the trial.
Survivors have not won until they are out of the trial.
Until the last Survivor leave the trial; the Killer can still kill them. Ergo: NoED is not 'rewarding losing' like I've had some idiots in-game scream at me.
So you think if a Killer gets 0 hooks in the trial prior to 5 gens being done but gets a 2K because of NOED it's fair?
Because that doesn't seem fair to anyone.

So, yes when I see someone else do it the first words in my head are “I guess they had to do what they did” but don’t expect me to celebrate with you. Because I do think Camping is broken because of this.
As I said before take the points and go. I don’t owe you a GG or a celebration for your victory because you chose the (IMO) boring cheesy way.
The Survivors were doing the exact same thing.
Why does the Killer owe them a game without camping?

I don't think that's a good argument.
It reminds me of a fairly common argument back in early 2019 about keys and mori's. "Well, because Keys exist, we need to have Mori's to even it out."
-

-
I win, it just isn't fun.
It's a lose-lose scenario. You either smurf and get fun games for yourself (like you suggest) but you also ruin games for other people. However, if you stay at your "correct" rank, you get more unfun matches but you don't ruin other people's games.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
So you chose to not play nice (meaning the boring way) by Camping and expected them to what? Cheer you on? I don't get it.
Look. I get why you did what you had to do but they don't owe you anything. Yes, not even sympathy. You yourself just told us how you were already prepped to lose because of the perks you were running so much that you had to rely on the playstyles you chose. So it shouldn't come as a surprise if others don't enjoy those playstyles.
I am not going to say "Accept your loss" but understand that you shouldn't also expect people to not be bored by that playstyle. Like, at that point just take your win and move on. Because it seems as if you aren't satisfied even after you beat them.
They do not owe you their satisfaction.
They shouldn't have the mindset that the Killer owes them something and must play a certain way.
Even when I get camped or tunneled, even though it isn't fun, I understand the necessity.
It just makes me argue even harder for unfun (if absolutely necessary) mechanics to be removed and reworked into something more fun and healthy

Interesting. I find Deadlock backfires on me hard sometimes.
I'm also seeing more and more groups just never cleanse Plaything, as they anticipate Penti. I've started running Surge+PR+Plaything+BBQ/LP and it's like a free Oblivious all game.
Yeah, even if they don't cleanse Plaything that works fine for me.
Obliviousness is really crippling to a lot of players that have become dependent on hearing the TR.

Ok so i played 3 games in a row with Hex: Pimento and these were my results
Game 1: Myers
Hex: Pimento/Hex: Thrill of The Hunt/ Hex: Undying/Thanatophobia :
I lost this really bad. They just rushed the gens and didnt touch not one totem the whole match. I realized after that i need them to have an incentive to break totems so i was gonna change my Pimento build up. All 4 escaped, it was on Dead Dawn Saloon.
Game 2: Pig
Hex: Pimento/ Hex: Ruin/ Hex: Devor Hope/ Hex: Thrill of the Hunt
This was an absolute shutout and i destroyed the survivors on Swamp map. They found all the totems except Ruin which stood up the whole game before they all died. Pimento got destroyed and i rekindled it, got destroyed again and that was the end of Hex: Pimento. I never got more than one stack of Pimento the whole game but got the 4K with 4 gens left.
Game 3: Trapper
Hex: Pimento/Hex: Undying/ Hex: Retribution/Hex: Thrill of The Hunt
The team i went against got shut down really bad. A Mikela booned a dull totem but i immediately snuffed it out and chased her. She laster booned a part of the map i wasnt really going to and at that point i didnt care, none could benefit from the boons because they put it on the non 3 gen side. They were found a few of the Hexes but i caught one trying to cleanse one and killed her in which she was on deathhook then the last person found my trapped up Hex but just disarmed the trap and left the Hex alone. (Guess he didnt want me to know his general location. 3 3K with 1 escaping through hatch after he abandoned interacting with his team all together. Trapper is my second highest MMR killer currently.
Comment and Conclusions:
I only played Hex: Pimento 3 games but it seems like it needs to go with Ruin, Devour Hope, Third Seal, Undying and or Retribution then Thrill of The Hunt or Thanatophobia as mandatory for it to be effective and or optimal. I still dont think the perk is very good but it can definetly stall the game with people taking time to bless or cleanse totems. Again they need an incentive to break totems in the first place otherwise its just not gonna work at all like in my Myers game where they probrably didnt ven know i had three Hex perks lol. It seems very underwhelming and i believe there are better all Hex builds you can make. I
I think its very risky to use against high level survivors and in the long run wont be worth the perk slot at high MMR. If survivors still attempt to rush gens with Ruin still up then Pimento is not doing anythin crazy. I honestly dont know your suppose to get 3-5 stacks when alll you can seemingly get in standard matches is 1 stack so i dunno. I'll try more tomorrow and report back here because i like the challenge of using weaker but unpredicatable perks thatt throw survivor off. I really want these 4 and 5 stacks so i can see if the effects are worth running it. So more Hex: Pimento play tomorrow! )
Last 5 games.
Artist: Plaything, Pintimento, new scourge hook and Deadlock.
All 5 games were 4K's. Two of those I had to try, the others were stomps
