Thanks chad brad

Look man you're the 5th Nurse in a night of tunneling Range Nurses and Iri Box Pinhead's
It's not really your fault but I do not have the mental fortitude to continue this without losing my sanity
-
I'm sure this will go as well as the rest of the Nurse threads do.
Chad move for actually playing that many games and giving stats to back it up.

Breaking news, more us vs them.
The Forums are shocked.

How often do you get killer cheaters?
I think since 2018 when I started playing I've had eight Killer cheaters.
It should be noted that like seven of those were bots on a single day.

People need to realize that its just a game. If someone is cheating just to win, they shouldn't be playing then.
But I won :)
They held me there for a while but they left.
Ergo, I won the ego battle and they wasted 2 hours :D

Deathslinger has the best 1v1 chase power, sans Nurse.
This seems to be the ingredient missing from this thread. He also has a lot more perk synergy than other ranged killers. Like with STBFL or any terror radius reducing perks (M&A, Hysteria, etc.).
If a killer player is struggling with his chase power, you may not be near the skill cap. If survivors are ‘wiggling’ than just ADS cancel. You’ll gain distance. Pretty much every property to him helps the killer player win chases faster.
I would say he’s A-tier off his insane chase potency. S-tier, imo, is reserved for high mobility killers that get hits while moving fast (Nurse, Spirit, Blight, etc.).
He's definitely not A-tier.

I've been going against quite a few hackers lately and this is the first time where my internet tanked while I was streaming from Discord to 2 of my friends. The other 2 said she was running around me and I was just staring at a locker. Then I unfroze, hit 2 survivors with hatchets and saw the Claudette, readied my hatchet and froze again. Saw the red icon of a skill check at the top left of my screen. When she left, it went back to normal. Cost me the match and she was the only epic user. Other 3 were steam users. I think she was either ddos'ing me or hacking because 4 gens with 1 dead is not possible in 20 seconds. Just made me realize that I made it to the big leagues now since I'm getting them constantly now. Had to report 4 of them in the past 2 weeks. Random damage from nothing. Looks like a mini scythe hits me from the side and I take a hit with no one around. Getting sick of it already.
No no, they were for sure cheating.
I had a cheater today as well. Two in the same match, actually.
Might have gotten into an ego battle. Might've been held hostage for a couple hours.
-
That's not really a DDoS.
Sounds more like lagswitching or connection throttling but I guess it doesn't really matter.
Anyways, ######### DDoS'ers. Had way too many experiences with them on Xbox.

How?They run as fast as you and have 10 secs protection
Hit them as they get unhooked.
Also, they're only faster if you play Mirror Myers or Nurse.
-
Perhaps I'm being a bit too naïve, but I am willing to wait and see.
If it does prove to be a problem, those Survivors will be running something like: Built to Last, Hyperfocus, Stake Out and Streetwise. You could just tunnel them out of the game and there's not much they could do. A temporary solution whilst we wait for a fix.

I feel like too few people are willing to acknowledge this. Without access to our own MMRs, we will never know for sure what MMR we are at in any given match. The only way to know anything is to base it off of assumptions on people's play, or report bias "I'm super good at the game, so i must be top MMR" If nobody is ever willing (or able) to be accurate about their own skill level, they will never have anything to measure it against with this system. Its purposely ambiguous to prevent bad players from being directly told that they are bad, but also gives people room to misconstrue their current standing. Its a bad combination when your community is so blatantly egocentric.
That's true. However, even with access to the MMR system, you'd likely just figure out that you're at the soft-cap for MMR. I'd be willing to bet that a lot of people sit at the cap simply because it isn't that hard to get there.

You have just the same ability as OP to determine whether you are in "high level play" or "the killer is bad and using a crutch". which is zero. lmao
I do not base it off of my own ability but rather, people who are considered to be good at the game.
I've had the opportunity to play against a couple of those people. People with 7K+ hours who stream the game for a living. Like I said in my original comment, I do not get to play against them consistently, I imagine the matchmaking system is too funky for that. However, I was able to keep pace with them while they were, at the very least, trying a little bit.
I'm confident enough that I'm perfectly willing to say that I don't get real high-level teams often, which is something at least.
-
It depends on who I'm playing and how I feel.
As Survivor: Probably like a 4.
As Killer: Depends. At my peak I've gone against some very good players and was able to compete.
-
I really liked the perk so I'm pretty sad to see it nerfed.
I understand why, and I'm glad Nurse won't have that in her arsenal but how long before we look at the root of the problem rather than the symptoms?

And I argue that you don't have to see tournament level survivors to be beaten; just good enough survivors will do. Gen speed, arbitrary time waste at loops, and second chance perks stop the killer from killing the survivors on time. Their skill isn't enough to win, so they have to turn to strategies and perk/add-on loadouts to maybe see a chance of winning. Even if the survivors do go down quick or make multiple misplays, there's not much room to punish them. You're on a strict curfew, and spending just 20 seconds chasing 1 person can be game-losing. Why else would killer players pick the strongest killers, perks, and playstyles even at the cost of ceasing to learn their killer?
Because, at the end of the day, people enjoy winning more than being skilled.

You said that high-level killers need to tunnel based on RNG. Which is total nonsense as tournament players do it consistently even against organized SWFs who use DS / body block / For the People etc.
Sorry for not addressing the rest of your message where you claim essentially that OP is a low-level scrub, I thought that was condescending and off-topic
Tournament players aren't high level players. They are beyond that. You won't find them in public matches pretty much ever. They are completely irrelevant to public games.
High-level players are just normal people who are good at the game. The best of pubs, so to speak.
In high-level public matches, you will find that you do not always need to tunnel. Sometimes, you just get good RNG. Often times, you don't.

OP is right though.
Even in tournament play, killers are consistently tunneling, also camping the hook quite commonly. Just watch this game:
https://youtu.be/fXlLWcQLufo?t=406
In the first 4 games of this tournament every time the killer would try very hard to tunnel only one person. And the only game where they didn't manage to tunnel was a 4-man escape:
- Game 1 : straight up facecamp, then tunneling despite DS, teammates body blocking, and even using For the People on Nea. Nea gets hooked 3 times in a row with only one person getting hooked in between. Result: 4 kills
- Game 2: straight up tunneling, Jake gets hooked 3 times in a row before anybody else gets hooked once. Result: 4K
- Game 3 : killer downs Adam but decides not to tunnel him for no apparent reason. Then decides to tunnel Claudette, who gets hooked 3 times in a row despite DS. Result: 2K
- Game 4 : No tunneling. Result: 0K
I didn't watch the other games but I imagine the trend doesn't change.
Keep in mind, this is not against random solo queue players who don't know how to counter tunneling, this is a SWF who all run DS and try to protect the tunneled person by body blocking / hiding him / even using For the People.
That's cool.
seems like you didn't understand what I wrote.

I've seen multiple people who claim they're at "high level play" or what have you and who also stream, obviously out of interest you check their stream and then it's just sweaty perks & playstyle with very mediocre gameplay and opponents.
There are are a few people whose word I'd take for it but not many of them, especially on here
I don't think many people play against high-level opponents consistently.
I get them on certain Killers at certain times of night occasionally. With how bad the MMR and matchmaker is, anyone who says they only play at a high-level is immediately omega-sus to me.
-
RE Chapter 2 scares every Console player.
-
Why should the Killer get free Kills?
They shouldn't.
I feel like the place we are at now is...fairly balanced. Basekit BT and Haste allow for counterplay from the Killer during the EGC whilst not allowing them to just knock the Survivor down almost immediately.
Some people may have an issue with it and they are allowed to hold their opinion. It's wrong but I suppose they are allowed that luxury.
-
It's funny that you think you're playing at a high level.
I will grant you that, at the highest level, you do end up needing to tunnel or camp in some regard.
However, the VAST majority of players will never see that level of play. I don't even see that play consistently. Most players that do tunnel and camp use it as a crutch. It's easy and it works but it can destroy your growth as a Killer.

Surprised no one has mentioned Father Campbell's Chapel. That map is small and heavily killer-sided due to how easy it is to snowball on. Plus the entire south area area where all the circus junk is is usually just one giant dead zone that sometimes has one okay pallet and one gen usually spawns back there so the killer has very little reason to ever go back there most of the time. (but when they do to back there and see you, you're screwed)
Also been really hating Wretched Shop lately. That map is a shining example of RNG dependence. Whenever I get it as survivor pretty much the entire area that's behind the shop is a massive dead zone that usually has one T/L wall.
Garden of Joy also gets an honorable mention. I know killer mains like to call it the "Garden of Pain" but I swear, as survivor, I think I've had three, maybe four legit escapes on that map since it came out.
Other maps that tend to be rough as survivor are ones already mentioned above: Midwich, Lerys, Pale Rose, Wreckers Yard, Suffocation Pit, Azarov's Resting Place, and Shelter Woods. I'd also add Rotten Fields to the list especially depending on the killer.
Garden of Pain is incredibly Survivor-sided. Seriously, just run to the god loops.
Also, Father Campbell's Chapel has some of the most busted set-ups possible. Main building god window and Shack can spawn looping into a long-wall jungle gym

I think they shouldn't have collision. Other than that, big fan of this change.

Sprint Burst is fine.

I'd rather bring Prove Thyself over Hyperfocus and Kindred instead of Wiretap.
They are pretty weak when you look at them relatively.
Wiretap in practicality is also not that good. It has the Deliverance Curse where killer kicks gen more often if you have it, and 14 meters is not that big of a range and it doesn't work with Open-Handed.
No half-decent Killer is going to kick a gen over chasing a Survivor.
Hyperfocus is insane if you hit your skill checks. A toolbox plus Stake Out with Hyperfocus can finish gens in half the normal time. That's insane.

Huge buffs to all of Ada Wong's perks + Better Than New.
These perks are extremely undertuned, situational, and obsolete.
I am sick of survivor perks always being garbage.
Reassuarance is good yes, but it's just another band aid fix to an issue that makes you unimaginably angry when playing survivor.
Hyperfocus is not particularly useful, it's just fun. That's okay. But Low Profile and Reactive Healing are very weak because there effects are so weak and unnoticeable.
Hyperfocus and Wiretap are both great.

No, not at all. There is an in-game setting which allows you to do this exact same thing, and it's called colour-blind mode. While programs like NVIDIA GeForce and Reshade let you do it easier, the options exist within the game for a reason.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3145665#Comment_3145665
NVIDIA requires that developers specifically approve their software before you can use it to change the colour of the game. The fact that they have, and have approved of it since back in 2017, means that no, it is not cheating. It is specifically approved by the developers of the game.
sadge that we console gamers do not get to see better using filters :(

I don't think an offering should override a perk. I know playing into a killer with franklins when you used a white ward sucks, but I don't really like the idea.
Okay.
What if it Franklin's worked the same way it does now but the White Ward guaranteed that you get your item back at the end of the game.
-
Because the game is extremely poorly optimized.
It doesn't use the Series X or PS5's power very well. Much like with powerful PC's, they just brute force their way through all the performance issues that the game has.
You can tell this is the case when you go to maps like Haddonfield or Garden of Pain. The FPS dips noticeably.
-
You aren't missing anything.
Prestige is mandatory. There's a tax for it that you have to pay. It takes more BP to get to the teachables. You get less BP per match.

dodge 3 chains and start solving it and you won't get interrupted.
plus the box actually takes a decent time to respawn then 90 seconds to start a chain hunt again (slightly less with addons)
there are 4 survivors constantly moving everywhere on the map why is it so hard that the closest one just solves the box when they're by it? whether he gets use out of his passive or not is in the survivors hands unless it's a hoarder pinhead maybe.
You will still get interrupted.
