This is because of latency.
There's not really any fixing it, you just have to play around it.
-
There's sort of an unofficial thread for performance and optimization issues

Is the Twitter account the same one that replied to every BHVR post to optimize for console?
Optimize the game for console pls :)

PTB's are definitely advertisements and always have been.
However, I'd bet that most of the changes we see in the Mid-Chapter are influenced by PTB feedback.
-
She has Myers-Syndrome.
She has one or two really good add-ons that give her a very strong playstyle that is extremely difficult to deal with. However, her base-kit is very lacking.
Seriously, a 100 second TP cooldown is pretty awful. Give her unlimited teleports to TV's but put a cooldown on that TV being able to apply Condemned.

To be fair the 3 gen issue is just as much the fault of perks like CoB and overcharge as it is knights power. The gen kick meta is a problem in general not to knight specifically
For where knight can camp a 3 gen trickster can easily camp a hook
So can most Killers.
Knight's almost the only one who can FORCE lock a three-gen. His Guards kick you off of gens and do 5%

Can’t really see how knight is worse than trickster. Don’t get me wrong they are both pretty bad additions but at least knight looks cool and brought a somewhat unique power
Trickster is just baby’s first huntress
Being caught out in the open by Trickster? Not fun, very map dependent. Otherwise, he's just annoying and the game is over quickly.
Being stuck in a hour long game versus Knight because he simply will not leave his 3-gen? The true meaning of torture.
Although, Trickster is just a poor man's DIO

Didn't Sadako turn out to be one of the stronger killers?
Only using Iri Video Tape Condemned strat.
It'd be like saying Myers is one of the strongest Killers because he could just use Tombstone Piece + J. Myers every game.

Trickster to this day is still probably the worst designed killer with the worst chapter that was ever released in the game. I thought Artist would be an obvious second place, but now with Knight and the upcoming SM she falls probably to the 4th place...
Legion.
Skull Merchant.
Knight.
Trickster.
Twins.
That's my list.

Still, I don't agree with the sentiment of "if you can't win without it, you shouldn't have it".
Perks are there to help you win, that's their entire purpose (with the exception of No Mither). I'm not saying OP perks don't need to be looked at, lord knows Eruption needed toning down and some other perks still need to be looked at (one rhyming with shmead shmard).
If a perk is single-handedly carrying you, you should stop using it.
DH is fine.

Isn't this almost every perk in the game though? I've lost track of the amount of times I would've been sacrificed if it weren't for adrenaline, or the amount of times a killer's pressure has been foiled by CoH. Equally there have been many games I would've lost as killer if I hadn't been using thana or discordance.
Like, honestly, if I went perkless and addonless as killer my MMR would hit rock bottom within a week and I haven't even been using eruption.
A perk saving you from a bad situation is one thing. A well-timed Adrenaline is certainly clutch but is anything but consistent.
-
Decisive Strike needs a buff, not a nerf. Return it to 5 seconds.
Dead Hard is fine at the moment. The Killer has the advantage in almost every scenario. It can cuck certain Killers like Huntress, yes, but other Killers make it useless. Likewise, it's not an E to win button and it takes actual skill to use effectively.
This is....an astronomically bad idea, I think.

@Raptorrotas said:
Isnt the difference that "killer perks no one cant live without" get nerfed/guttered while BT got basekit?
Dont see other survivor players critizing survivors who want old DS back. Shouldnt they also git GUD instead?
It's actually nice youre good enough to not care a good perk gets nerfed but most players might be worse and need the good stuff to keep up.
That's called getting carried by perks.
If a perk is letting you win against players that are better than you, then you shouldn't have it in the first place.
-
I don't think there's that many of us left honestly.
DBD has always been a revolving door of players, it's very rare to have people stick around, especially for 5-6 years.
I'd suspect that most people currently playing started playing DBD in 2021 or after.
-
I agree.
However, I think they can release the Survivors and the maps. The perks can be fixed in a short time, the Killer needs more time than they have.
They should wait until the Mid-Chapter and then re-release her there, see if she's better

Yes.
Some of the houses and the cars tank FPS on the Series X.
Garden of Joy does the same, as does RPD.
-
Thats correct.
Most players are very casual. They will always take the easiest strategy to win, it's only natural.
Unfortunately, making tunneling NOT the easiest and best strategy to win is going to be very difficult. It's ALWAYS been best to make the game a 3v1 ASAP

Do you want the best build objectively or the best build for Pyramid Head specifically?
I can't help with the specifics, though I do run Lethal + I'm All Ears.
But the best builds right now are all some combo of Call of Brine and Eruption. CoB, Eruption, Brutal and Nowhere To Hide would probably be good.

Tbf those kind of people will always find something to hate on.
@topic I haven't noticed this myself but I also don't have any high prestige characters. From a killer end I see high prestige and assume it'll be a bit tougher match as they clearly have a fair amount of play time.
People can't help but quiver in fear of the P69 Jonathan.

I don't think people care about it that much. Having 100 level isn't something special or rare anymore.

The performance looks like it will be pretty bad, especially considering Haddonfield.

Certain people are really showing their true colors this chapter is a banger. The aesthetic is sick the killer is fun to play as and the survivors are awesome. I’d say all of the new perks and killer power could use a buff but it’s such a refreshing and cool chapter!
How?
-
@Phasmamain said:
Fair enough if you don’t want to buy it but it’s not a scam when you still get 1 killer, 2 survivors and 9 perks. I mean Freddy was rushed out the door alongside Quentin with 6 trash perks and that was still sold well
Or if you want an original chapter Binding of Kin basically broke DBD on launch and twins are still unplayable on lower end PC’s and consoles so if anything they’re worse
We don't know how this or the new maps will work on Consoles.
Red Forest worries me greatly.

Those are all, in fact, balance related! Those things don't have to be true, because they're not part of her core design.
You will see in time.

I don't want to be mean or rude, but if you really can't see any application for a killer with mapwide tracking and consistent stealth, that's far more on you than on the core design of the power. You put "her power" in brackets next to Exposed like it's all she does, but it's like, a tertiary thing at best. The main thing she does is track survivors, and the secondary thing she does (or at least is meant to do, as far as I'm aware; nobody's denying she's weak) is give herself stealth. The Exposed is like, pressure to mess with her traps at best, it's far from the only thing her power has.
She's not a chase killer. That doesn't automatically make the design worthless.
She tracks Survivors only within a certain radius and I'm pretty sure she gets slightly slowed for doing so. You could say she can track people with Claw Traps, but there's no reason for survivors to disable drones and it's incredibly easy to remove them. Out of all the Killers with tracking, she's probably closest to Wesker or Nemesis. She gets occasional info. If that's your idea of a main power, yikes.
She gets stealth in an area, which Survivors will be running away from and stealth isn't really all that anymore.
If you buff her tracking, that doesn't really help her. She doesn't have a way to capitalize on it. If you buff her stealth, again, she has no real way to make any use of it.

If the Knight fine, the she also fine buffed.
Knights strength level is fine right now, we'll have to to see how it is after the Eruption nerf.
However, he's still one of the worst Killers to play against. It'd be like adding Legion 2 the chapter after Legion came out.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one.
Even buffing her into the stratosphere wouldn't make her oppressive because, like, what does she do? She knows where survivors are (but doesn't have mobility or chase), and has stealth (but even the best possible version of it wouldn't be as good as a killer like Wraith).
The only way you could make her oppressive is if you specifically hyper-buff her Exposed, and there's no reason to assume that is the one and only thing you can buff. The only reason she "sucks at everything else" is because she's weak, not because she's poorly designed.
What else WOULD you buff if not her Exposed (her power)?
Buffing her tracking doesn't help her, she has no movement abilities nor any way to get downs.
Her Stealth? Still doesn't help her. She has no movement abilities.
Buffing her Exposed just makes her Knight 2, the Electric 3-Gen Boogaloo.
Buffing her either doesn't do anything for her or makes her WAY too good at holding down 3-gens. If that isn't a design issue, I don't know what is.

@jesterkind said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3348915#Comment_3348915
She literally doesn't do anti-loop right now and there's no reason to assume she'd be buffed in a way that lets her, and any killer can hold a 3-gen, she'd only be slightly better at it than the majority of the cast.
There's nothing wrong with her core design. It's never going to be top-tier strong because trap and information killers don't tend to be, but it isn't fundamentally broken. I'm starting to wonder if people just, can't see past her current balance problems and conflate that with her core design or something.
Her power literally only works in a 3-gen.
She sucks at literally everything else and if you buff her, she becomes way too oppressive.
-
I will never understand the Skull Merchant Defenders.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3348895#Comment_3348895
It literally isn't, no.
She's weak, and can be buffed. If and when she is buffed, she won't have these problems, because her core design is totally fine and even quite cool.
Unless you mean the Artist example, in which case, eh, a little. It's not that Artist is poorly designed overall, just that there's a little bit of an annoyance to the way her kit functions in one specific area. It could be fixed, but it being there doesn't automatically invalidate Artist as a design.
If she's buffed, it doesnt fix the fact that her core design sucks.
You've either got anti-loop or hold a 3-gen.
-
I do genuinely think that it's in their best interest to not release the Killer at this time.
They should release the Survivors and the maps but hold the Killer until the Mid-Chapter or later. She has so many issues that can't be solved in 3 weeks that require a re-design. Buffs won't fix her.

Most likely. I've let the last 24 hours soak in and marinate and have some first thoughts and come to not hate them like everyone else.
Merchant while I agree with most she could use major buffs or changes and she's not the best. Kind've a bad backstory tbh but I like the idea of her. I like her more than Knight, I think he's extremely boring, moreso than she is. I'm not in no rush to buy Knight whatsoever which is how a lot of people feel about Merchant. I'd play her over him any day. I wish she had more to do with her teaser aka involving skulls but I like technological things, drone things so I like the aesthetic. I like how she doesn't come with a tragic backstory and is just is deranged, however, I could think of much better backstories to represent her psychopathy rather than what's there currently. Visually, I dislike her walk animation. Hugely. In game, it feels so stiff. It'd been cooler if she looked more mechanical with whirring sounds to her which is only one place where I think people are having issues with her, she might've been more well reciprocated if her appearance was less Apex, more mechanical horror. Overall though, I'd play her. I can already see some ways to play her I'm eager to try out. Never gonna use her mori though because admittedly, that does suck. It's so bad. I hope the devs come up with a new mori before release. Likely? No. Wishful thinking? Yes.
I like Thalita. Renalto is okay but Thalita is such a cutie. All the perks including Merchants are whatever honestly, I don't see a star player on any of them.
The only thing I might struggle with depending on if its timed is the buttons when getting the claw traps off. I'm dyslexic so I hope it won't screw me over. I can't play the PTB so I can't see for myself how it operates.
I may have a different opinion a month or so after release but we'll see. I don't think I'd play her more than Spirit, Demo, Wesker or Sadako but I don't hate her guts.
She's literally just a worse Knight.
Knight CAN do anti-loop. She really can't, ALL she can do is play 3-gens.
-
Why would I?
She has perhaps the worst power since PTB Ghostface.
She looks like an Apex character.
Her perks are eh to really bad.
If I want a tracking Killer, I'd play Legion or Doc. They're better and more viable.
If I wanted an Exposed Killer, I'd play Myers or Ghostface since they're more viable and more fun.
If I wanted a supremely boring 3-gen Killer, I'd play Knight since he's more viable and more fun.
Like, what exactly does this Killer offer? Disappointment?

And I just criticizing your criticism :P At the end of the day, this is the killer we getting like it or not. No among of criticism is going to change that fact. They not going to just go back to the drawing board just bc ppl don't like how she looks. Personally, I like her design just like how I liked tricksters' design and the other killers'. Her power could be some major work that I agree with and will criticize all day since it is super weak but her look is fine. People are just upset bc they got something that wasn't promised in the first place. Trust me the next killer will most likely be more to your liking :P If you don't like her then play the other 30 killers we have in the game.
Nobody wants this Killer to be DoA.
That's what we are all trying to prevent. Bad perks, horrible power and an extremely unpopular look do not bode well for this Killer. We're trying to avoid a Twins 2.0
-
Her actual look is pretty terrible. She looks like something from Apex or Fortnite. Her lore seems pretty bad too.
Hips don't lie but calling her a Killer sure is. Her power is probably the worst one they've attempted to release since PTB Ghostface.
She might be the worst Killer in the game. I don't think number buffs help her at all. They need to take the L and go back to the design board.
The Survivors are salvageable at least. Perk changes are easier to implement than completely redoing a Killer
-
It literally doesn't get you anywhere.
It exists to give you Stun points at the moment.

I haven't heard anything but I suspect they may have run into technical issues considering the game barely runs as is

Anyone, please explain
Most people are NOT good enough to get value out of DH. They will use it and it won't do anything for them besides take up a valuable perk slot.
That is why I said that the perk is useless to a large portion of the Survivor playerbase and why I did NOT say that the perk was useless

Basically yeah.
Ultimately, that's his most optimal playstyle when you mix in smart long range Guards.
