I like the doctors design, as it seems very original and unique.
-
Yeah, I also think he should be returned to the way he was, and maybe given a nerf, as he was too good in that state as well! I do not think he should be allowed to hook survivors, as Freddy in the movies is not able to do that either!
-
I actually really like this idea. Normally I dislike fan-made ideas because the killer abilities are not well thought out, but this seems like a good idea. The only thing that might need to be changed is that the insanity rank when looking at him should be lowered, as otherwise survivors have no way to counter him. Any chase that lasts more than 30 seconds would end the survivor. Other than that, I think it is a great idea.
-
Might need to be 50% then.

What are you talking about. Iridescent hatchets are so much fun to play against. They are perfectly balanced.

The Clown. Duh.

Killer wait times are about to get nuked into the ground.
-
I see the appeal of your bloodpoints thing, but do you mean they earn 25 percent less bloodpoints forever or does it just take 25% of their bloodpoints from the bank. If it was the second thing, I feel like it would be fine, but accidental disconnects happen a lot too.

I agree OP - not all perks are created equal.
I don't think this situation will change.
I think they should give each perk a point value bit like that old COD game and let you assign a set amount of points to your loadout.
So for example BBQ might be worth 5 points but instead you could take The Third Seal (2 points) and Overcharge (3 points).
Implication being that you could take more than 4 perks.
That is actually a great idea. It would allow even more perk combinations and builds. The only problem is that people would rage that x perk was placed in x point value.

Greetings, everyone! Since there is an entire section for suggestions and feedback in Dead by Daylight community center, I've decided to share my idea for a killer with all of you. This is my very first time suggesting a new playable character anywhere, so, please, don't judge too harshly. I hope that you're going to enjoy my idea.
Also, yes, I know that the idea of adding The Reaper into Dead by Deadlight isn't something new around here, but I think my idea for him is rather interesting.
The Reaper
Basic stats
Appearance: the grim hooded figure in the black robe adored with the ancient talismans and strage runic symbols, armed with the infamous grimly designed scythe that he carries at all times, emits the otherworldly fog said to be the part of the Vortex of Souls; the face of the figure cannot be seen, there's only the darkness underneath the hood.
Weapon: Death Scythe
Speed: 115% | 4.6 m/s
Alternate Speed (Ghost Form): 81% | 3.22 m/s
Terror Radius: 32 meters
Height: Tall
Lore
(in development)
Powers
Primary: Ghost Form
Death is the ultimate primordial force, no walls, prayers or magical barriers can defend a mortal from it. When activating the power, The Reaper gains the Ghost Form, that begins to drain his Power Gauge. While in Ghost Form:
- The Reaper becomes unbound by the gravity and any physical objects on the map, phasing freely through them,
- the movement speed is reduced by 30%,
- the basic or lunge attack cannot be used.
The Ghost Form can be activated on demand, but requires 1.5 seconds to end (the Power Gauge is not consumed during that time).
Secondary: Mark of Death
No mortal can escape their fate once Death has come for them. The Reaper can apply the Mark of Death to any hooked Survivor. If the marked Survivor enters the Exit Gates zone or uses the Hatch, The Reaper gets immediately teleported in front of them, facing them. This cancels any animation The Reaper is locked in and makes him drop a Survivor at the location where he was before the Mark of Death has been triggered, if he was carrying one.
Mark of Death can be applied only to one Survivor at a time.
Memento Mori
The scene begins with The Reaper disappearing from sight as the dying Survivor turns onto his back and looks around. Then the Survivor's chest gets impaled by the Death Scythe from beneath. The Reaper then reveals himself as he rises, phasing through the ground and raising the impaled Survivor into the air via his weapon, bringing him closer to his never seen face. Then the soul of the Survivor gets torn from the body as the Survivor screams in agony before their body goes limp. During that process, the further the soul is separated from the body, the less it resembles the Survivor it belonged too, turning barely visible and eventually becoming the part of the otherworldly mist emitting from The Reaper.
The scene ends with The Reaper tossing the dead body aside.
Perks
Tolling Bell
Every fight a mortal puts up is yet another step towards their final date with Death. Whenever the generator is fully repaired, the Survivor who has repaired it suffers from the Exposed status effect for the duration of 20/25/30 seconds. If the generator has been repaired by multiple Survivors simultaneously, the Exposed status effect applies only to one of them. The target gets chosen randomly.
Quote: "Every beat of a mortal's heart is a sound of the tolling bell."
Hex: Inevitable End
A Hex rooting its power on hope. The power of your Hex Totem calls upon The Entity to deny the Survivors any possibility of escaping the inevitable. Once the Exit Gates are powered, if there is a Dull Totem remaining on the Map, this Hex is applied to it. While this Hex is active, The Entity blocks the switch boxes of the Exit Gates and the Survivors' Movement Speed is reduced by 2/3/4%.
The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
Quote: "We're born different, but we're headed to the same end."
Eternal Rest
There is neither fear nor pain awaiting the mortals on the Other Side. Once a Survivor is sacrificed or killed, every remaining Survivor shares the experience of the afterlife peace with them, resulting in them getting a 10/20/30% penalty to Repair, Healing, and Sabotage speed for the duration of 30 seconds.
Quote: "Agony, ecstasy, peace. Every passing has a beauty all its own."
Add-ons (only some)
Black Ribbon (Uncommon)
A piece of black ribbon oftenly applied to the pictures of the deceased ones. Reduces the time required to end Ghost Form by 0.5 seconds.
Black Rose (Rare)
A perfect choice of a flower to bring to a funeral. Phasing through the dropped pallet gives the 20% Movement Speed bonus for the duration of 1 second.
Quote: "May you rest in peace."
Ouija Board (Very Rare)
The infamous spiritual board that is said to bring the spirits of the dead back to the world of living. If the marked Survivor is killed or sacrificed on hook, Mark of Death is applied to one of the remaining Survivors.
Quote: "If Life is a game, then Death is it's sole winner."
Necronomicon (Iridescent)
The legendary tome of the forbidden otherwordly knowledge. Removes the Movement Speed penalty while in Ghost Form.
Quote: "If you want the dead to share their knowledge with you, join them."
Grim Sickle (Iridescent)
A grimly designed sickle that emits otherworldly energy. Reveals the auras of Survivors within the Terror Radius while Ghost Form is active.
Quote: "In the end, all bow to Death."
Although this is extremely well thought out, I do not understand how ghost form could be useful, especially in outdoor maps. Perhaps you could inform me?

So i've updated my ideas for this Chapter, and added some new perks and ideas. Tell me what you think!
Five Nights Chapter:
Killer: Springtrap
Weapon- Animatronic Claws
Base Terror Radius- 30 meters
Killer outfits: Different animatronics (Ennard, Foxy, etc.)
Killer Perks:
Exotic Butters- You followed your victims home. Every Minute, you can see your obsession through walls for 6/7/8 seconds.
0% Power- After all 5 generators are repaired, doors and hatches cannot be used for 110 seconds.
Jumpscare- Your Terror Radius changes to 13 after hooking each survivor at least once.
Ability:
Twisted Shell-
Spawn up to 3 empty animatronic suits, hich look normal to people who haven't been hooked yet. If a survivor has been hooked, standing in the place of the empty suit is a copy of Springtrap (Called Copytraps ingame). After a survivor comes within 10 meters of a copytrap, the survivors location is pinged to Springtrap for 10 seconds, and copytrap will disappear. Nothing happens when coming within 10 meters of an empty suit, and they can be destroyed by survivors for 250 bloodpoints.
Mori: Springtrap places a springlock helmet on the survivor, which snaps due to the shaking fear of the survivor, crushing their head.
Survivor: Charlie 'Charlotte' Emily (Fnaf Books Series)
Charlie Perks:
-Ballora's Song: uh ou dance beautifully out of sight. You gain a 5% speed boost for 9/10/11 seconds after being unhooked by a teammate.
-Music Box: You keep your friend's souls safe. Any perks that let the killer see survivors through walls (except nurses calling) only affect survivors using this perk.
-Four Closets: Charlie was another animatronic the whole time. Every 2 minutes, you can see the killera aura for 3/4/5 seconds.
-Double A's: Every survivor that didn't bring an item to the match spawns with a flashlight.
Map: Freddy Fazbear's Pizzaria (Fnaf 2)
NEW! -vent systems that link rooms. Only crouching survivors can fit. There will be no hidden rooms that killers can't enter, just linking main rooms. (4 shafts, 6 entrances)
-Pallets (6 upstairs, 3 in basement area)
-Generators (5 upstairs, 5 in basment area)
-Doors (1 Backstage, 1 Party Area)
Tell me what you think in the comments!
I feel as if his main ability is a much weaker version of the hags or trapper. That could definitely need to be reworked. Also, his 0 % power perk is ridiculously overpowered. Other than that, I feel as if it is a decent idea. What if his ability was that he could go inside lockers, and then immediately teleport to any locker no matter where it is on the map. And when going inside these lockers like a map shows up showing all of the lockers, and he can select them like cameras in FNAF. If a survivor is near a locker or is in one, he gets an alert on his visor, and he can find a locker and teleport them to jump scare them and instantly kill the,.

I've been a fan of DBD since i started playing a year ago during Hollowed Blight. What drew me to the game was it's horror theme, what has kept me playing the game is it's insane amount of content, characters, maps, perks, items, offerings, and unique gameplay. DBD at it's best is one of the best MP games I've ever played and it's genuinely exciting, fun, and rewarding to have great hard earned games
However at it's worst it is one of the most frustrating and un-fun games I have ever played and that is due to player mentality. With the current state of the game you almost never see fun builds anymore, you almost never see anyone really being ambitious or anything, and partially this is due to the game's design, but still. The game has over 100 perks for each side and maybe 10-15 are used per both sides and the reason for this is due to the sheer fear both sides have of losing
No one wants to run fun, silly, or niche situational builds because everyone fears the specter of a curbstomp match. Killers always play seriously because they don't want to be bm'd, depip, and insulted at the end of the game so they use the same perks and killers over and over again too afraid to do anything different. Likewise Solo survivors are too afraid to be silly because they don't want to let the team down, 1-hooked or run into a toxic killer. Everyone's so afraid of running into toxic players that we ultimately end up creating toxic players, with everyone playing seriously, never going easy, or playing for fun purposes, Toxicity is always just one bad match away for every player.
Everyone rushes the objective as fast as they can because they "Have to deny the toxic player from insulting, beating us, and reveling in his own pretentiousness" with everyone so high strung in this game and so afraid of the boogeyman, ultimately
They become the Boogeyman
I agree, but I do not see how this problem could be fixed without completely wiping the community. Perhaps they could reward using different perks with extra shards or bloodpoints, and it was discouraged to run the same build too much by removing some of the players bloodpoints or shards.

Just gonna leave this here don't mind me.
- Hooked survivor shows killers aura if he/she is within 5m(or 10m if that's too short) of said survivor
- Whisper system (ping, but without the pinging) - once per 30 sec survivors are allowed to send a silent message to all survivors in an 20m range, ranging from a phrases related to objectives like: "Cleanse totems" "Baiting killer" "Do generators" "Killer nearby" "Don't Run!" "Unhooking". The pings will be text only and will not show ping points on the ground like other games.
- customization of clothing/skin colors for both survivors/killers
- Survivor offerings shown to the killers in lobbies.
- Dcing players receive a -25% total blood point gain
Pennywise as a killer.

Maybe making charged bottles actually do damage when you directly hit the survivor would be fair. You have to basically look at the ground to throw them directly at the survivor, so I think it would be a fair boost to utility.
Or maybe a buff to either the status effects the bottles inflict or the area of effect/how long the gas lasts.
That would be nice too. Maybe he could make a potion that took longer to make by around 5 seconds, but a survivor in its gas field would be exposed for 10 seconds.
-
The Mind Flayer in Stranger Things uses rats as hosts so that it can interact with others outside of the upside down. Perhaps that the Entity is controlling the rats to serve an end to its means, and it was able to infect them through this vial full of entity juice. Just an idea.

Pennywise. Just never add him.

I am saying that you collect the data but then make conclusions which are not based on the data at all. You have the same amount of votes for Plague and Hillbilly for example. But you are not making the same conclusions for them. Why is that?
You have a great point, and apologies for not noticing this. I will change that immediately, and will look at the data more carefully next time. What information did you draw from the graph?

Based on the graph you posted, Wraith has 1 vote, Plague has 2, Clown has 2. Since Nurse has 1 vote, Hillbilly has 2 votes and Leatherface has 2 votes, if I were to judge only by the data alone without any background knowledge about what might have skewered the results, I will have to say that Nurse, Hillbilly and Leatherface are also in the same category as Wraith, Plague and Clown of killers who are either not very fun to play or are just not very powerful.
Fair?
So you are saying that the lower voted killers are just less fun to play and has nothing to do with power? But yes, fair enough.

Legion honestly wouldn't have been so disappointing if not for the fact that both the name and the trailer had nothing to do with the actual power.
True. I have no idea why they thought it was ok for them to mislead their audience like that. We have been begging for a shapeshifting killer for so long, and they exploited that.
-
Michael and Doctor are the most played, while nurse, wraith, clown, Hillbilly, and plague are less played.

Graph has been posted! Thanks a lot for your help, I got much more people to respond than I expected. BTW, this graph was taken from the reply's only, the straw poll was its one separate little experiment.

@Avocet As an aspiring scientist, I agree with you completely. This will only show the frequency of killers of a very small subset of the entire player base. As a fellow forum-dweller, however, I feel that this is a step-up from the subjective notions that many threads are based on. This may also lead to some other interesting insights!
Plus, I’m certain that BHVR already tracks a number of different variables from the game that is later used as basis when deciding to rework something (or not). :-)
I definitely see what you guys mean. However, I feel as if the more someone plays a killer the more enjoyability they get out of it, and this is at least a step in the right direction in my quest for data. Do you have any suggestions to make it more accurate.
-
They could fix this by adding another Exit Gate, but I don't feel as if that would be fair towards killers. How often would you say that this happens to you, or was it just a one time occasion.
-
Also, what would make it unique from other killers, other than its cosmetics?
-
A shotgun sounds kind of broken however, and does not really fit with the games theme. What about having his hands shapeshift into knives like in the terminator movies.
-
This is interesting. Apparently, barely any killers like the current plague, or at least do not enjoy playing her.
-
Thank you for the results everybody. You guys are great. We are about halfway there to have enough data to create a graph that reflects of the killer community

I put leatherface in last place because he has nothing going for him. He's nothing but a slower hillbilly. It seems like he has no map pressure and sure he has his instadown, but it sucks. You'll only get downed by his chainsaw if you're out in the open, so around jungle gyms or really any loop, he's just an m1 killer.
Leatherface is pretty good if you run insidious and camp outside the basement. I respect your opinion, but I feel as if he shouldn't be LAST place. Clown is much worse than him in my opinion

Personally, I am a trapper main.

I think Pennywise would be awesome. Who else do you guys/gals think should be invited to the roster?
No offense, but I do not love the idea of another licensed killer, especially Pennywise. You are entitled to your own opinion though.
-
I had a fun idea for a new killer in DBD that I thought was very unique at the time, and would like to hear what you guys think about it. This unlicensed killer would be called The Child, and she would be constantly giggling and babbling, which would replace her terror radius sound. This giggling and babbling could be heard from around 20 meters away. The Childs ability would be called Leaping Lunacy, and it would operate something like this.
By holding R3, the killer would stand completely still and began charging up her attack. After 3 seconds of charge time, the player would release R3 and cause the killer to leap up into the air, vaulting over obstacles and pallets. If the child landed on a survivor in mid-air, she would put them in the dying state, but in exchange for this, she would be difficult to control in the air and also would take time to charge up her jump. The fully charged leap could launch her around 30 feet in the air. This leap could be used to traverse the map incredibly quickly, and it would also be used as an element of surprise. On indoor maps, her jump would cause her to hit the ceiling and flip, at which point she would crawl across the ceiling with her head turned upside down at 150% movement speed. The downside is that it takes her a few seconds to drop back down to hit a survivor. The Child would be around 7 or 8, and would thus scream with anger if you escape her grasp, drop a pallet on her, or blind her. This shriek could be heard across the map to add to the creepiness factor. I feel as if the child could be an incredibly good nurse-level killer in the right hands.
-
I agree with most of the list, but Leatherface is actually incredibly good, especially if you run him with a basement build.

The characters in the game are the same but which ones are free are different. And the main gameplay of doing gens and sacrificing survivors is the same but the way you unlock things is completely different.
Got it. So the gameplay and characters are the same, but the progression in the game is different.

No they are very different games run by different teams. The progression system is not the same and the free survivors and killers are different too.
Actually, on the Development teams post about the mobile game, they said it would have the exact same killers and experience, they just ported the game to be used for a mobile interface. I agree with you that you will probably not be able to transfer data from other consoles into mobile.

I disagree sorry.
As a gaming company if there is a market for your game on any platform why wouldnt you make it available?
The more platforms the game is out on the more money the devs can so in turn it allows them to keep the game going long term.
DBD already has microtransaction in the form of skins. They also have all the dlc's to sell. It's an untapped market and one millions of people enjoy.
There are also programs like bluestacks where you can play mobile games on pc very easily without the need for the higher end hardware.
I am fine with you disagreeing, this is a discussion after all. I feel as if the time and money they spend on the mobile version will not be worth it for either the developers or the players. They could have spent that time making DBD have a cleaner user interface and smoothed out some bugs, which I personally believe would have brought far more players.
-
@twistedmonkey said:
I really dont see why they shouldn't if game like pubg can be successful why not DBD? Games on mobile devices are becoming better all the time with each new yearly device becoming more powerful more console/pc games can and will port over.
Mobile gaming is actually the largest market out there with around 55 billion spent last year and rising. The question really is why wouldn't a developer not try and tap into that market?
The teams working on each platform are different so it doesn't affect the others and who knows maybe they can learn from each other.
Although I see what you mean, I just do not think it is the right direction for DBD. Also, mobile games make more money than console and PC games because they usually pump their apps full of disgusting amounts of ads and microtransactions. Not saying that DBD will do that, but that is the reason why they get so much revenue.
-
@brokedownpalace said:
The mobile game is being made by a separate team. So it really has little effect on the console/PC versions.
I just feel as if the Mobile game is going to launch both rushed and buggy, and this will result in it dying in a month. I still feel as if the console and PC versions will continue as is, as it is made by a separate team like you said.

From what i see it's a way of knowing that the entity is always there ''with you'' during every trial you ever get into and it watches your every move.I think it's also a very crucial part of the ritual which is able to abduct people from the real world to the realms.
I believe that the fog has three purposes in the world of the Entity.
- Offer a way that the Entity can spy on the survivors without them knowing that they are being watched.
- 2. To disorientate survivors so they are unaware of what map they are being transported to, and what killer they are facing.
- 3. To transport survivors into different trials against their will.
-
When you make four people the enemy of one, they will usually end up ganging up on that one. It is just human nature. I am not justifying what they did. This usually happens when players play as only a survivor or only a killer, as this causes them to resent the other side. That is why I believe that people will get the best experience the game by alternating between killer and survivor every once and a while.
BTW, tunneling is when the killer only chases one survivor down and targets only him for the game. It is not really a valid insult, as the whole point of the killer is to target survivors.
Take pride in the rage you call toxic survivors, but do not join in in their salty rage. It is what they want.
