I usually let it run and watch a video of Monto or someone like that while waiting. Takes about 5 minutes.

Might slow down your search just a little bit.

  • Once the killer closes the hatch, yeah, the last survivor is kind of screwed. They have to hope the gates are far apart and the killer checks the other gate first. I've tried just hanging out at the gate and waiting for the killer to find the hatch, hit the gate immediately once it was closed, of course they checked my gate first. Unless you are an amazing survivor going against a not so great killer, it's game over once the killer finds you.

it is kind of ptw but then again you can earn them. it only gets you perks thats it

Perks change the whole game. I just switched from Console to PC. On Console I had pretty much all the perks I wanted. Starting from scratch is painful. It would make more sense to suggest a fix to the blood web, which seems dead set on giving you the worst perks first. But you are like "take my money!"

  • Will you ever be able to buy bp like 5 dollar for 1 mill.

I love how people suggest things without thinking it through. If this game becomes P2W I'm done.

Seriously you can be toxic with any killer. GF is not even that strong, he is a mid-tier at best.

Never said he was strong. I said he tends to attract toxic players for some reason.

Plays a PvP game, complains about toxic players. So, what exactly do you expect to experience in the genre? It isn't like this type of thing in a PvP game is new, or is going to change any time soon. It's akin to getting on the internet, and then complaining that some people on it are #########.

"The world is less than ideal, we all know this, you shouldn't say anything about it."

  • It's 2019, feelings must be protected at all costs. Get with the program.

  • I don't dislike them. But I certianly am not paying 10 bucks for any of them.

  • @Boss said:

    Pretty sure that it's intentional.

It's to go along with his weakness to Lightburn.

That's exactly what the Wraith needs, more weaknessess.

  • Ridiculous they have inaccessible skins like this. Only benefits people who sell the codes at ludicrous prices.

  • Playing against a SWF sabo squad as killer is one of the most miserable gaming experiences I've had. Finally get that tbagging surv, take them to the hook, their buddy pops out, finishes it off, surv gets free, 2 gens pop. Awful.

  • @Boss said:

    Points for getting defeated?

Don't you already get those anyway? Just struggle in phase 2.

On the contrary. By staying alive and keeping the camping killer occupied, you help out your team greatly.

  • I suicide sometimes and care quite a bit about bloodpoints, especially since I switched platforms.

  • The problem with Trapper and Doc is they are add-on dependent to be viable. I agree with making Moldy Electrode default, much like they did with Wraith and his speed boost coming out of cloak.

Trapper needs to start with more traps, a default of one is ridiculous. Starting with 2 and a capacity of 3 would be good.

Agree Lightburn should be removed. Toxic survs are bad enough as Wraith.

Plague's sickness could gradually reduce repair speed and eventually run speed. It needs to be severe enough getting rid of it is a survs top priority, like getting off a RBT.

  • Sure, not everyone but many do. That is why there is a big spike in players during events and double BP weekends.

  • Trapper. Well placed traps can throw a whole team in a downward spiral. His lack of usage really benefits him as people aren't used to looking down.

  • There should be a bonus for both phases, but a greater one for the second phase would make sense.

  • We can argue about it forever. I hate being camped and tunneled and hate when it happens to my team because they suicide or DC. That said, it's up to BHVR to discourage this kind of play. They gave the killer less points if they camp, does anyone ever notice this? Sure hasn't discouraged the behavior.

  • So they admit they got beaten by a guy who plays like a rank 20 killer.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

Killers should get 25% bloodpoints and survivors should get 400% bloodpoints in that game mode. It would be absurdly easy as a killer and almost impossible as a survivor. Survivors working on gens would just be a free hook for any stealth killer. No skill required. Surveillance = free win. Chases would be a joke. Survivors couldn't loop since it would be super easy to outplay. That really only leaves trying to run straight and as far as you can make it before the killer catches up which wouldn't be long. 3rd person camera is pretty much the one advantage survivors actually have.

With all that said, I have been advocating for alternate game modes for a very long time. There is huge potential for the game. I strongly believe that they should do a rotation of alternate game modes on weekends. Here is a link to a thread tossing around different ideas. I'd be good with something like this going in the rotation, but I don't think it should be a permanent option except maybe KYF.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/17700/alternate-game-modes

They could incorporate a look behind mechanic. Outlast does this mechanic pretty well, as well as chases in general.

  • I would love more indoor maps but the I agree, The Game, needs a rework. I still find it hard to navigate, particularly the downstairs. The biggest issue is that access points are tied to generators. Also makes the heartbeat and Whispers useless (though they may have fixed this, I can't recall).

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

@brokedownpalace Every cross play game has an opt out in the options menu. No game forces you to cross play.

    (Besides FFXIV AFAIK)

I feel the same way. I just switched to PC since I can't really play DBD on PS4 anymore. Starting from nothing is awful. All I want is to retain my progress, buying the DLC again is something I can deal with.

  • @Almo said:

First off: I'm not saying no, I'm just reflecting on this.

Large portions of the game design depend on Survivors being able to look somewhere they're not moving (or not at what they're working on).

Imagine repairing a generator against Pig in first-person camera.

Perks such as Object of Obsession (ones that depend on the direction you're looking) are much less useful during actions.

I think playing Survivor from first-person would make you immediately appreciate how much of an advantage it is to have third-person camera.

This difference in camera is one of the most fundamental asymmetries in DbD; shifting that would make seismic changes in the gameplay all over the place! :D

I don't think anyone is saying 3rd person is not a massive advantage. 1st person would just be an interesting option to have. It would greatly increase the scare factor of this game. Imagine hearing breathing, turning around, and seeing Myer's right behind you. Talk about a jump scare. Survs who use 1st person could get increased BPs as a bonus.

Honestly, this game is not very scary as a survivor, other than surprise gen pulls. I get way more anxious playing as killer because of how easy it is for the game to fall apart and before you know it there are survs tbagging at the exit gate.

  • The worst is stepping into a Hag trap and the camera pans to it. Screws you up big time if you run into several.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

As many people have said here, I just want a global account that lets me keep my stuff if I purchase the game for another platform. I'd spend more money on the game if I knew it would carry over from PS4 to PC and vice versa.

Same here. That's right BHVR. More money.

  • @LordGlint said:

@Supernaut That was my exact thoughts when I got a gaming PC for Warframe. Over 3k hours and tons of gear on an Xbox account but... A pretty PC that won't let me use that stuff, QQ

Exactly. I don't mind not facing people from other platforms, but it would be nice for my progress to carry over.

  • Bloodweb can be infuriating. I just switched to PC and have only leveled Claudette, nothing else. Level 35 and still no Self-Care 2. Get the crappy perks in spades, Dark Sense, This Isn't Happening, No One Left Behind, Slippery Meat (A perk that counters one killer, seriously?). We just want to make our builds and play the game dammit.

  • Apply directly to the forehead.

  • Have you seen developer streams? There are...not the best.

She has too be in the game in order for high ranked players too have a killer who can get past a safety pip, when they should just be buffing weaker kills so everyone is viable at high ranks.

I agree with you. The other killers are too weak. Nurse is the only sure thing against coordinated SWF.

  • @KaoMinerva said:

You're a console player. Your experiences mean nothing here. PC is where all the true killers & survivor elites roam. Console players actually try to loop nurse. I'm a nurse main and play her on console so I know.

LOL TRU3TALENT HAVE IDEA ON BALANCE?

    No thanks.

He was the principal hater from legion..

I mean you can disagree with a guy, sure. But because he hated Legion? I thought that was just consensus.

  • Agree with the above. It comes down to making infection be problematic enough to require cleansing. If you can reasonably play while infected, the Plague is a dud. If infection is disabling she could be quite the force to be reckoned with. Not Nurse or Billy good, but up there. Unlike Ghost Face and Legion (who will basically require a full redesign), a clear fix is easy to implement. Make it happen BHVR.

  • @Yamaoka said:

The emblem system requires you to have a full game. If 3 people disconnect and 1 survivor dies on his first hook - do you think that deserves a pip? I don't even expect a safety pip if the game ends in less than 5 minutes.

Emblem system is screwed up now. Maybe you don't deserve to pip in this case, but depip? Come on.

  • It's not a bad perk. There are just multiple better options.

  • You don't have to worry about it as much with the DS rework.

  • @Mochan said:

Blah blah blah Killers just can't help but feel like victims and blame everything on Survivors having all the power.

New killers are what keep the game fresh. Devs are 0/3 for last 3 killers (including Ghostface, Spirit was good). I'm sure high rank survs are tired of nurse and billy. These past 3 duds aren't going to change that.

  • Helps sometimes though. When you are killer and see four of the purple offerings that remove hooks, you know you are playing some toxic SWF.

  • Not Tinkerer. Happened with multiple killers.

They aren't intentionally tunneling. Answer this, when you're in spirit phase and survivors are invisible so you are going solely on scratch marks and sounds, who is going to be the loudest one you hear, the full health guy or the injured guy? Exactly, the injured one

There's just a lot higher chances that after we come back we will run into the same injured guy.

The game is all about pressure. Even if I don't want to tunnel, I can't just run into that same guy and be like, wait no I'll let him go so I'm not a tunneler and just randomly wander around looking for someone new. That would literally lose you all of your pressure and as killer you only get 1 screw up and it costs you the game. I'm sorry but this isn't survivor land where you can dick around and screw up a lot but still get multiple second chances.

The amount of survivors that think you're a tunneler just because they happened to be the one they ran into again is astounding.

Lastly, even IF we ignore all of these things I've said, tunneling is a legit smart strategy even if it was intentional. That's like a killer telling you to stop doing gens...

The people that complain about tunneling are the same ones that play zero killer at any meaningful rank to know what they are talking about.

I play killer quite a bit and go out of my way not to tunnel. I've made it to red ranks. So, you are wrong.

    Anecdotal, meaningless.

You can make it to red ranks without tunneling, that isn't what I said at all. Go back and reread.

Are you serious? You made a bogus generalization. I contradicted it with my own experience. Perhaps you should reread your own words. I'll help you out, it's the paragraph that starts with, "The people who complain about tunneling..."

It isn't a "bogus generalization" it's fact. If you disagree it shows your lack of experience.

So if someone disagrees with your generalization, you make another generalization about them.

You aren't following. The issue isn't you disagreeing, it's your lack of understanding the material.

More to do with your baseless assumptions, but okay.

Dont run and you dont leave scratch marks.

Yep, just stand around the hook.

Play spirit yourself, you clearly have no clue how her power works

Sure I do. That doesn't explain why Spirits rush the hook whenever someone is unhooked. It's not nearly as common with other highly mobile killers.

You're the one who made a public discussion, i am the one who made the decision to comment. You're the one who is mad about spirits being "Mad Tunnelers" because you yourself probably got tunneled into the ground by one recently. Don't tell me when to keep my thoughts to myself, when you're the one who is expressing his own thoughts.

Just did. You admitted you had nothing to contribute. You also clearly haven't been paying attention. I am talking about it being a frequent, not individual, occurrence. Also I said "rabid" but "mad" is much simpler word, so I understand the misquote coming from you.

Me saying idc and it's not my problem is not me admitting i didn't have anything to contribute, when i gave you solutions to your problem. You are sitting here making this bold claim that you can make it to red ranks without tunneling. Good for you, no one cares. Tunneling is simply just a strategy used by killers to get the game in their favor, where as salty people seem to think it's a ######### tactic. Something had to have happened recently for you to come onto the forums and complain about it. Since to you it seems to be happening more consistent, then what are you going to do to fix it.

Also, if anything if the killer is far away and you make the unhook and they go right after the injured person, then you need to go and do gens. Yes it sucks for that person, but at the same time you can gain a powerful advantage over the killer if you simply do gens instead of sitting there trying to bodyblock, like it's going to do something.

Yes, like I said. I have noticed out of months of playing that Spirits love to tunnel at a much higher incidence than other killers. It was not one or two particular episodes despite your insistence. Somehow it has turned into a discussion on tunneling as a whole.

What I have gathered is that the Spirit's mechanics attract players who like to tunnel. As opposed to playing the Spirit encourages tunneling.
