How is he worse than Freddy? If you take pallet control and use both bottles you can basically outplay most of the really safe loops... How on earth is he supposed to be worse than Freddy? Besides that at least his addons do something, compared to Freddys.
They both need significant buffs. Why argue over which awful Killer is worse?

And another overly negative post for no reason.
@Topic:
Clown is actually on the Roadmap for future changes:

This is all subject to change and will only be a thing in 4 months, but you can expect some Buffs to his Kit. The last Changes he got were really underwhelming. I also expect that they finally nerf Pinky Finger for good, but I also expect some Buffs to his Kit.
Plenty of reason, even if you decline seeing it. Try reading up on pattern recognition.
-
I expect the distorting/slowing aspects of his gas to get nerfed because Survivors don’t like it. He will receive something minor that qualifies as a “buff.” Maybe faster bottle throwing or an extra bottle with base-kit.
Likely will remain trash-tier, but be sure to buy his cosmetics.

She has little counterplay in loop. You always lose when she uses her power. But she isn't incredibly strong in the 4v1, so playing fast and efficient can work.
She is still a poorly designed killer. Staying still in chase mostly results in a free hit. Getting detected 3 times injures you, keeps you broken and hinders you while you are still detected and gives her a speed boost. So your best bet is to pre drop a pallet and try to leave the loop, when she uses her power. That however will often still result in a stack of lock on and incredibly bad resource efficiency on your part, which means if you can't win the game fast enough, then you won't win at all.
I said before her second rework, that there was no need to remove her, when you could try and fix her instead. Now I realise I gave the devs too much credit on her. They don't even know what to do with this killer. All 3 versions were and are terrible.
Keep in mind the same devs who tried to fix her are the same who her made her in the first place.

almost every game has some combination of pain res/corrupt/pop/jolt, so on average survivors have to do at least 6 gens if the killer is even half way decent. If gens were any slower, solo q would be virtually unwinnable (already close as it is).
Why do you think Killers run these perks almost every game?

I think they reworked him both to reduce survivor frustration and to make him stronger, they just went a bit overboard on the nerfs after the PTB. I don’t think they intended to make him worse.
All they need to do is revert the throw rate back to 4 or bring back the ramp up and maybe reduce the laceration metre by 1. The only real issue PTB Trickster had was Main Event and the Iri add on, which they fixed. The throw rate nerf was overkill.
Nerfing his throw rate was likely the point because it frustrated Survivors. Highly unlikely it will be reverted.

Suggesting they will nerf his Static Blast is “insanely negative?” Just a little hyperbolic.

I mean, Alien is ok, the other 2, yeah.
But idk why BHVR even did these changes, the problems were Add-ons and Main Event frequency, not the throw rate.
Agree to disagree with Xeno.
The only thing that makes sense is they have or had mechanics Survivors found “unfun.” The Killers getting reworked are not particularly strong or popular but are worse after the rework with their problematic mechanics remove or made worthless.
-
We can add Billy and now Trickster to the list of botched reworks.
-
I suspect he was reworked because Survivors hated playing against him, probably due to spots with low counter play against his knives.
His throw rate has been gutted, he got normal speed and a lack of recoil as a thrown bone, now it can be argued it wasn’t just a nerf.
Given how BHVR left Billy, Freddy, and Xeno in the trash after their problematic features were adjusted, I would not have high hopes for an improvement in his current state for some time.

@Caiman said:
The last few times I've played Xeno have felt awful. The low FOV makes some maps painful to go through, the tail is unreliable and I can barely tell where it's even aiming due to the strange angle and wonky hitbox, the flamethrowers add further disorientation, and you're harshly punished for every wrong move. It just doesn't feel rewarding at all to play this character, which is a damn shameful embarrassment that this is what one of the biggest IPs in DbD plays like.
That’s modern MO for BHVR. Take a Killer that Survivors find problematic and nerf them into the garbage.
-
I’m really concerned they do not understand or play their own game.

I think they are planning something bigger for Myers and honestly he needs it. Even Myers keeps his power, he is still so weak.
Even if they come up with the perfect rework, (that’s a laugh) that is still 6 entire years a simple change was ignored. No excuses.

Good on you for trying to be nice. I gave up after his 1000th thread about how BHVR only cares about survivors, and how killers are just playthings that are there to be abused for laughs. I've met people who have suffered horrifically in their lives, and even they don't come close to exhibiting the level of self-pity that dude expresses over a god damn computer game.
People tend not to open up to others who resort to personal attacks.
-
If you main Huntress, I would be quite worried.
In regards to upcoming reworks I now ask, “what about this Killer would Survivors consider problematic?”
My guess is her being able to camp with hatchets outside of the unhook radius, especially with her already being a dangerous camper. I expect her to be ruined to make these adjustments.
Perhaps they give her normal speed but obliterate her hatchets. Could lower their range, number carried, locker availability (maybe lockers have to recharge their hatchets), or even their damage. Maybe reduce their damage so it requires 2 hatchets to remove a health state.

Can feel that way sometimes, as killer you have all the tools you need to beat a team but I do miss old moris.
There was something really visceral about being eliminated in a heartbeat that really kept you on your toes.
I get why people didn't like it, I get why waiting in a 10 min queue to load into a 2min game isn't the greatest, but man was it exciting to have a game with that level of threat.
Sometimes I wonder if its just really grumpy sore losers dictating the changes.
Would player opinion be different if the killer was a really hard bot and not another person? I never heard anyone complain that a raid boss in WOW was unfair to face you know what I mean.
One of the reasons why I really enjoy MWO, if you get caught out of position you get blasted and that's it game over, this can happen right at game start too.
I can't recall the MWO crowd moaning about this as much as the DBD crowd tends to or MWO introducing immunity to death in some circumstances. Are DBD players just more childish and reactive? Does the horror genre attract a more emotionally unstable crowd whom are less adept at playing well with others? Questions for the ages I guess.
I think it’s a few things. The asymmetrical nature of the game means there are more Survivors than Killers. Survivors likely buy a lot more cosmetics, they show off to their friends and can actually see them being in 3rd person.
Business-wise it makes perfect sense to cater to Survivors for the above reasons and BHVR seems to be going all in with this mindset. Happier Survivors mean more purchases.
The core question is likely how happy can we make Survivors without driving Killers out of the game to the point Survivors are upset by wait times and leave the game?
Recent and upcoming balance changes make much more sense through this lens.

Looking forward to the solution on this to be another success in BHVR’s “killers can only play the way survivors want” design philosophy

You’re going to be told by many it doesn’t matter but it’s true. If you put in the time to P100 a character, you will have at least a decent idea of what you are doing at a minimum.

I don't think there's anything reasonable they could do based on this to make you stay happy with the game.
Sounds like you might be burnt out, big time.
Survivor complaints: Valid
Killer complaints: “Sounds like an issue with you, have you been practicing self-care…”
Dismissal disguised as empathy.

That's great. 👍️ Neither am I.
But I play DBD because of a long enjoyment of horror films and the game is at its best when it plays out like a horror film. AS killer or survivor.
Unfortunately Killer feels reduced to being a party clown for Survivor amusement.

Top 4 Killer perks are gen regression perks in a nerfed state, out of necessity to have a chance. Terrible meta.

@Dwight_Fairfield said:
Why is Huntress on the list for killer changes? She's one of the least problematic killers in the game.
I suspect because she can camp without being in the self-unhook radius. In response to their not being a clear solution, they will make changes to her entire power.

Cries in slinger. I dislike seeing a stbfl change as I use that perk religiously, it's a good perk, but it's not overpowered.
You are missing the point. It is bothering Survivors. That is the main priority.
-
@Ayodam said:
You can just run Sloppy Butcher or one of umpteen add-ons to prevent 99% healing. Tbh I haven’t seen any survivor even attempt that since the medkit nerf. Same with gens. Survivors just aren’t really doing it anymore because it’s futile.
Sloppy is going to be adjusted, likely nerfed hard.
Sorry OP. You might notice every big Survivor complaint is being addressed in a step-wise fashion. First Tunneling with basekit BT, next Camping with the unhook bar, now 3 gen and Sloppy. They tried a fix for Slugging which went poorly, I expect them to revisit this with Killers slugging more due to a lack options. They are also going to adjust STBFL, likely a nerf in their continued mission to prevent tunneling.
-
He’ll probably be nerfed at the mid-chapter patch. Release the Killer strong, get sales, nerf to keep Survivors happy.

The only change Myers needs is for stalk to slowly passively regen on survivors over time so that you never wind up without a power.
Otherwise he's one of the best designed killers in the game.
I agree this should be the main change. Frustrating that such a simple and useful adjustment takes years.
If they had put a small fraction of the effort they put into their vain attempts to fix SM and Onryo, many of the Killers would be in better spots.

I play both sides nearly 50/50 so I have no clue what you are talking about.
How does it make your Killer experience worse when you play against 4 Survivors who haven't played against THIS EXACT KILLERS previous match? It could even make Killer experience better/easier since the Survivors won't be trained to play against that exact Killer that often.
Because it ignores the Killer player’s experience and preference for what they want to play. What experience are you envisioning for Killers? Longer queues for Wesker, instant for Trapper?
-
@Mondhirsch said:
Can we please get a mechanic that prevents to get the same Killer twice in a row?
There is already a decreased chance to get the same map twice in a row, so why don't we just do that for Killers too?
I'm so tired of facing Blight 4 of 5 matches. This would lead to more variation.
The difference between maps and Killers? One is an computer created arena and the other is actual human being who is playing game for their enjoyment, not yours.
This post perfectly demonstrates the depersonalization of Killer players, considered a game feature to make Survivors happy. Dance clown, dance.

Someone seems to be holding a grudge for something ~
First: any recommendations for recording programs as we (more accurately I) now upgraded and probably CAN record now.
Second: A LOT of the time when gens pop like that when we play, it happens because WE PLAYED BAD. When survivors screw up they tend to die fast, when we screw up they tend to escape. Not rocket science right?
Third: We see a lot of ppl moaning about things such as this yet no one shows. All talk, which is fair enough to call us out on but double standards are being applied here. Ask for theirs too so we can ALL see. If it's genuinely skill we'll call it, if it's something they could do better we'll suggest, if we're wrong we'll admit as such. Don't assume you know what our conclusions are when WE don't even know. (And there's 3 of us to boot)
4th:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3582189#Comment_3582189
This doesn't mean ANYTHING at all? Really?
And 5th: You yourself seem to have a established conclusion of killer is horrible right now. Are we wrong?
If you are unwilling to show your gameplay, why should anyone else? You don’t believe OP’s experience without evidence. We are just supposed to take you at your word but not OP?
Your intent seems clear. If OP posts gameplay, I have little doubt you will dissect their gameplay and put the blame on them.
Yes. I do think Killer is awful now. You think it is fine, as do most people here.
Don’t think I have any grudges on these forums. Not remotely worth it.

Thanks but 2 issues. I asked for gameplay footage and from someone other than you.

We would really like to see some of these matches. Not comp or tourney or anything as such, just random in the wild matches where this happens.

Wouldn’t mind seeing some of yours though.

I've been running a BU/FTP build almost exclusively. Now I'm only SoloQ but I'd be lucky if I can pull it off. Seems to be successful 1 in 15 games.
I would think this combo would be great for killers. One less person off a gen. Sacrificing a health state...which needs someone else to heal me up again. A lot of the time I have to rely on a medkit since I can't coordinate heals.
So it’s not that good but you run it exclusively?

Doctor’s is pretty menacing. I think it is difficult to appreciate because he is so good at finding people with his static blast and his chase music isn’t great.
If you are hiding from him in a locker and he is close, you can hear how unsettling it is.

I remember in one of the Halloween movies where Myers struck multiple folks with his knife, they shrugged it off and t-bagged away. Became a horror fan then and there.
