If things are that overpriced in the store, why do we buy them? If they are good cosmetics, BHVR could make WAY more money by putting them in the store than by putting them in the Rift. Either the BattlePass doesn't have good cosmetics or the outfits in the store are INSANELY overpriced.
The outfits in the store ARE insanely overpriced, which is why I didn’t buy them. This is like the whole point of why I’m excited for the rift because you are actually getting way more bang for you buck. And whether you find the cosmetics worth it or not is completely up to personal preference. I think they look cool so therefore the rift is worth it imo.

I did say battlepasses AND lootboxes. I know BHVR needs money, but the game is doing quite well and I imagine the store is doing well.
Well you said they both leave a bad taste in your mouth because of psychological manipulation. I disagree the the rift does that as it is simply a new system that allows players to earn more cosmetics for a much cheaper price than what we currently have with the store.

Still hasn't convinced me. Battlepasses and lootboxes leave a bad taste in my mouth. Psychological manipulation of people whose brains are not fully formed.
Are we seriously equating the rift with loot boxes now? The rift is pretty consumer friendly imo, especially to dedicated players. You can grind the whole pass before you buy anything, and then towards the end decide if you want to purchase it or not with a guarantee of what the rewards will be.

It depends, while yes some people do feel that way when they have something others can't obtain anymore (through conventional means)
there are others that just like to have these things because it gives them something to relate to during a period of them they've played within the game, or something to that effect.
Of course though, I agree that having these skins isn't really the right thing to do despite me really wanting to have something like that in the future, and that I hold out for something similar to that...
But hey, charms are technically exclusive to The Rift and are only obtainable for those specific seasons they're out... so that's cool! The skins... not so much on The Rift, you can get them later on when they release in the shop.
Yes I think charms are a perfect compromise because they are small and not as alluring as actual cosmetics.
So to the people who want something to show that they earned something rather than buying it, grind for those charms!
-
No because I care more about the cosmetic itself then wanting to feel special. It’s sad that some people will only want something because others can’t have it. Very childish.
-
Ive always been drawn towards David’s personality and backstory. I like how they mention that at first glance David just seems like an #########, but when someone gets to know him he gets super protective of them and will go out of his way to help his friends.
-
It just takes practice. When I moved from PC to PS4 I thought I was never going to get flashlights down. After about a month or so of playing I started get better and now I’m just as good as I was on PC. Keep at it. :)

Shameless name dropping now too!?

😂 I feel so dirty.... next thing you know I’m gonna start telling people to go subscribe to his channel.

So lemme get this straight... you dislike the rift but you are fine with what we currently have in the store? Cosmetics in the store cost $10 a pop. The rift costs $10, has multiple cosmetics and charms, and if you complete it, you get your auric cells rebated. You also get extra bloodpoints and lore for completing the challenges.
So what exactly do you dislike about the rift? So many people just keep saying they don’t like it but don’t explain why.

They haven't said the charms are exclusive. If anything it would not surprise me at all if they release them in the store.
Found this on their website:
-
Teabagging is just a way for players to taunt their opponents. As a killer there are ways to taunt back as well. In fact some games have built in taunt systems, like dancing and emotes. It’s literally just a way to get under your skin. Don’t take it too personally.
-
I’m going to buy it because I like the cosmetics in it, and I know I play regularly enough that I will complete the pass and get my auric cells back. Then I can use those to unlock the next pass and so on and so forth.

Others should understand that T1 Myers is a different case with his slow movement speed and stop mudding the waters with 4.4 and 4.6 killers.
Yes they should. Myers should be an exception because of this and the fact that scratched mirror Myers won’t be possible anymore.
-
Honestly if someone has enough expendable income to waste $70 on a battlepass, that’s on them. Chances are those people are already buying the $100 auric cell packs currently in the game.
For the average consumer though the battlepass system is extremely friendly, and being able to buy the pass at any time and retroactively get the rewards is a huge deal.

No, we don't think that. We only think T1 Myers should.
Nah tons of people are saying that every stealth killer should trump spine chill and premonition which is silly. Maybe you aren’t saying that but others are.
-
Cool idea but killers don’t have any items so this would only effect survivors. It would be nice though because before I decided to prestige my David I felt obligated to use all 214 of my party starters lmao
-
Yeah I think charms being exclusive would be a good compromise for those people who just want to show off that they earned something instead of buying it.

so you should rename the status then.
why is it called undetectable if you can in fact get detected by spine chill and premonition?
Because you are not detecting the killer, but rather getting a warning.
Spine Chill does not give you the exact location of the killer, just that they are looking in your direction and are close by. Premonition shows you the general direction the killer is but not whether they are coming towards you or not or what they are doing.
Plus do people really think spine chill/premonition shouldn’t work against stealth killers??? That’s literally their whole purpose.
-
Is this sarcasm I honestly can’t tell lol.
If it is though, you should watch the video as this is one of the main points he addresses.

This post feels like a scam and a view grab...
Well I can assure you that I am no way associated with Paulie Esther or his channel. I just really liked his video and viewpoints and wanted to share it here since many people seem to have a problem with the rift.
-
Kindred should still work against undetectable, and if it doesn’t then they need to change its description since it would be false.
-
Is this a riddle lol
But seriously can survivors get a stay here and stop gesture as well?
-
Nah dead hard is already buggy enough, the last thing it needs is a nerf. I already get hit while exhausted on the floor twitching why would you want that to be more common lol
-
If this is true, then goodbye fake hook rescue tech.... :(
-
I don’t even know what the complaint or argument OP is trying to make here...
-
Ummm if I’m not mistaken the tinker 2 bug made it so you lost your terror radius for the whole match.
Tinker 2 currently makes you lose your TR for like 15 seconds I think once a gen hits 85%
-
I think it would have been cool to get that bloody and bandages head as a cosmetic piece but they probably weren’t able to negotiate that with the license holders.

No it won’t. Not sure why everyone is saying this. You can’t use a medkit unless you’re injured, so you’re not going to be able to apply the styptic agent to avoid the instant downs. Unless you’re already injured.
Well yeah obviously you have to be injured first. What I mean by that is let’s say you are going against infinite tier 3 Mikey, and you have the purple insta, as it works now if you used it it’s not going to help you since being fully healthy doesn’t help against insta downs, but the new version will give you endurance which will prevent you from going down. (Yes I know it’s only 15 seconds but still)
-
The purple add on will actually counter insta down killers now. I can think of so many situations where I would rather have endurance than be fully healthy, even if it’s just for 15 seconds
-
Well I would not say no to more variations of this skin lol

Yes, this is very unfortunate.
I, for example, have time to play only during weekends (and not every weekend). Then, I mostly play for like 8-10h, which is quite a lot time, but stretched in a relatively short time. And, as you say, I won't be able to progress in the Rift, despite I could.
And I am sure, that most adult players will have the same problem. Let's just hope they change it.
Yeah I can see it being an issue in those instances. Plus I just don’t see the reason for it. What benefit does it give to anyone?

I dig it.
They could milk the heck out of the rugby cosmetic by making various team/color schemes.
They definitely could but I don’t think they really do recolors anymore lol
-
Im most excited for the lore and the cosmetics that will be tied to the lore.
-
Hopefully. Moris definitely need a rework/nerf because right now they encourage and reward the worst type of playstyle for killers and generally make the game easy mode.
And while I don’t think keys are quite as strong as moris are, I wouldn’t mind if they got a slight rework/nerf as well. They can be a little OP with SWF groups.

Personally I don't really care for the charms. They are alright but they just aren't my type of thing. I also find it hard to believe the charms will stay exclusive.
I said something similar last year during the halloween event and during the lunar event. I'd like something to prove I've earned everything, and didn't buy it at a later date.
Ino a lot of people on the forums get upset over small stuff like this, but I'm not one of those people lol
ALSO, I dont understand the point of putting words in CAPITALS like that. It just looks stupid.
Believe what you want, but I guarantee that the charms in the rift will remain exclusive. The devs have not once brought back an exclusive skin and I don’t see it happening in the future, so it most definitely won’t happen with rift charms.
It sucks that you don’t like them, but if you want something to prove that you earned everything and didn’t buy it at a later date, the charms are what you get.
ALSO, typing in all-caps is literally just a way to emphasize something, similar to writing a word in italics, or bigger or smaller font. Not sure why you consider it stupid but whatever lol.
-
What is the purpose of having the Archive levels time locked? Why stop players from completing the archives at their own pace?
-
I was wondering this too, maybe it will change rarity when the event starts.
-
Yes, I play regularly enough that I will most likely be able to fully complete it, meaning that I will have enough cells to get the next one free. Since I very rarely buy cosmetics from the store since they are $10 a pop, this is a great new system that I will actually be able to get more cosmetics from.
Plus there is virtually no timed exclusives so even if I do miss out on an outfit, I can buy it in the store at a later date.
Overall there is nothing scummy about this system and it’s a great alternative to getting cosmetics that I do not mind supporting.
-
They aren’t in the rift so it’s most likely going to be a collection that drops around the 31st.
-
Yeah this change was pretty useless lmao
-
Yeah I wish they had stuck to what they originally said with the shards.
-
Sorry to tag you but I’m just really curious about this.
-
@Alonzo said:
Yeah I know. But I mean after this rift is over and we get all the rewards and 1000 auric cells back. Do the ones coming out after this one work in the same way? Buy the pass then you can earn your cells back?
Yes they will.
-
@Alonzo said:
First of all sorry if this question is not supposed to be in this section.
So you get 1000 auric cells. You unlock the premium rift pass. You play the game and get all the rewards, get 1000 auric cells back (basically finished the rift).
Now a new rift comes. Will we be able to unlock this again with the auric cells and will we be able to again get the 1000 auric cells back?
Thank you.
Yes. If you play the pass to completion you get your auric cells rebated. So if you play consistently, you will only ever have to purchase the pass once and then you will get the next ones free.

You can't mori anyone before you hooked everyone at least once. This prevents tunneling of hook and ez games. Would be still strong, but not as bad as it is now.
Same idea as randy. Moris are bad right now because they promote killers who camp and tunnel and are too easy to activate. This change would force killers to actually have to play the game and not just get easy wins.

Even if it's a slight colour change I wouldn't mind that. Just something to show I earned the cosmetic
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/748246#Comment_748246
It wouldn't surprise me they sell them later down the line anyway. I don't really care about the charms, I don't think they are that noticeable.
Also sorry for the message being repeated 3 times, the internet has been going on and off a lot recently.
Nope the charms in the rift are exclusive. Also you said in your message to peanits that you would take anything no matter how small it is, and yet now you’re saying charms aren’t noticeable enough... so which is it?
ALSO, if that’s not enough for you, there will still be a small fraction of skins that are 100% exclusive to the rift. So there’s really no need to be upset.
-
@CashelP14 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746460#Comment_746460
@Peanits I don't mind the skins coming back out later but I'd like something just to show that I eanred the skins. It could be a symbol on the character or a slightly different colour for the cosmetic.
Please consider just giving something, no matter how small it is. I just want to have something to prove I've earned the cosmetic I'm wearing
You have charms.
-
Well it seems like the devs did exactly what I was hoping for, so I now have zero problems with the battlepass. If you want a skin in the battlepass but don’t want to purchase it, you can wait until they eventually release it to the store. Only a small fraction cosmetics will be rift exclusives.
-
Honestly I really do not understand the hatred for the battlepass... you can pretend like it doesn’t exist and you will not be effected at all. Plus it’s only $10 which is what the price for a single cosmetic is... you will actually be getting more cosmetics for a cheaper price with the battlepass system than you can get with the skins that release to the store.
