"find survivor that's doing gens because it's one of their Emblem objectives?"
😀😂🤣🤣😃
My objective is to kill survivors. Not emblems. 🤔🤨
-
Do I feel bad for using addons? Nope. Not even a little. You not using them is just hindering yourself but you do you. :)
-
Close to 700 hours in and I've only been insulted 3 times in post game chat. And I tunnel the hell right out of survivors!😂

Isn't killer the power role at lower levels? How is buffing low tier killers solve that issue? Is there an issue where newer killers quicky surpass the newer survivors and end up always losing games because they can only face more experienced survivors?
Wouldn't you want players to move up the ladder in killers to play things that have more depth to reduce players from getting bored? Wouldn't buffing low tier killers entice players to stick with the simple killers which would result in players getting bored by the simplicity of those kits?
But I like the wraith!

My pallet breaks with the invitation still are taking almost as much time as breaking them myself. I've only found them useful if I'm running the other way while they happen.
Is there a way I can use this more effectively?
Apparently you can break them from a distance or something. I don't use it.

The Perk is busted if u dont have Problems against it then u most likely only playing against Survivors that arent good at looping
M1 Killers gets doomed just because they injured a Survivor
Perhaps. I like to think I have a little skill that influences it.
-
I can't play Ghostface now. Can't keep up with survivors or generators. If you don't play a highly mobile killer right now you may as well stand at the gate and wait.
-
The Wraith is a weak killer yeah? I don't feel like MFT is that bad. At least I haven't had any issues with it.

We have all been there. Someone gets hooked and instead of being patient letting the team progress gens they just kill themselves.
Now from a killer perspective having seen first hand how good some of the bot's can be this also concerns me.
I've seen them very bad too and still be more helpful to the teams goal than many are.
No because a DC is ambiguous. The server can't be sure why it happened. Killing yourself on the hook is a choice that the server can determine. If you suicide then you've abandoned your team. No replacement bot should be allowed here.

If Lightborn is bad because it encourages people to not learn the game, what about all the second-chance perks? Nothing encourages poor choices quite like a lack of consequences. Of all the perks that "encourage" someone to not learn to play the game, singling out Lightborn is certainly a choice to make.
As for fun alternatives to gen-rushing, I wouldn't call 4 Survivors nix doing gens to troll with Flashlights a fun and engaging experience for the Killer. I have had it happen to me multiple times, and even a 4K doesn't feel like winning - it feels like babysitting.
Perhaps, but it comes with a hefty sack of satisfaction too.
-
I main wraith and the last several games have been 4k. The combo of pain res, pop goes the weasel, bbq and chili, and sloppy butcher (or lightborn of there are flashlights) has been great.
-
Left out the why. I main the wraith because I love bells. I like the idea of different phrases written on it, and different clappers, changing its powers. I also like the concept behind a "wailing bell".
He isn't the strongest killer by a damn sight but he's fun for me.
-
Yeah that rank is meaningless. It's just for blood points on the reset day. It doesn't say how good you are it says how much you have played.

I just got out of a game where i was the only one tunneled. Literally after i died the killer played normally and didnt tunnel anyone else. I mean hard tunneled like he ran and only went for me off hook. Idk why people are ######### today.
You could have been his obsession and needed the points from your hooks.

demogorgon! the sound design, the silhouette and identity, the mechanics, everything about the killer is fantastic!
even outside of dead by daylight, demogorgons have been my favorite species in stranger things. a faceless creature who either follows something out of curiosity and instinct, or doesnt and does whatever it wants inside of its own dimension... reminds me of myself.
I suppose I'll never get to try. 😐️

Wraith main. Dredge/knight second. Then freddy/ghostface.

It's very difficult for killers to snowball without survivors creating the opportunities.
It's not uncommon at all to hook someone and turn around to see the other three running circles.
What is that anyway... when a survivor runs in a circle?

@GentlemanFridge said:
You really overestimate the bots’ capabilities.
The only thing I have against them is that they can avoid a killer without even seeing him. Through walls and stuff
-
@Stanbriggs67 said:
whats the point of the penalty then ? if you dc you get bot game carries on still 5 players game is not lost benefits the killer aswell
The point is that you gave up on your team. Bot or no bot.
-
Why? If you DC then you get a penalty. The bot is there to keep your team going.
-
Click the link. It's right there.
-
Also to add... When the replacement bots come in they won't factor into my win/loss ratio. To me a DC is a kill, intentional or not.
-
Going for a 4k is what's fun for me. For me it's based on kills vs escapes. Hooks don't matter. Bloodpoints don't matter.
-
"The term meta means 'most effective tool available'. So something being meta means it's the strongest in what it does."
There it is. haha
-
For me...
0k or 1k is a loss
2k is a draw
3k or 4k is a win

@AetherBytes said:
Meta is usually based on what the other side brings and does, and might change a bit before settling into a new meta until a perk is changed or added.
What qualifies a build as meta?

Has anyone noticed an increase lately? I've had quite a few matches where the killer has gained a bit to much ground after a stun or vault that they had to walk a decent distance around. I can't say for sure but I'm a killer main and have a decent idea of how much ground a killer with no movement power can gain. I could be wrong but there's just been a few to many times lately where they seem to be a little to fast or right on top of me sooner then normal.
Got some specific examples (what killer, perks, etc)?
-
If someone DCs I'll give the last one the hatch usually (but no longer when the bot replacement starts).
I normally go in with the mindset that I'm killing 4 survivors and nothing is getting in my way. But then someone will drop an item and do a gesture that says "hi" and damn if I don't play along. At that point they have me wrapped around their little survivor pinky fingers. The interaction is fun and welcomed but that's not at all my goal.

i also like to two hook everyone as well unless I'm going against a team who killing me out the gate. From going on long win streaks and some bad streaks with killer i can say with certainly my opponent caliber rarely reflect how good/bad I'm doing. Just random team after random team with no consistency of skill level. Might just be my own experience but i truly don't believe mmr exist.
could be wrong
I don't give survivors a break. I take the 4k if it's mine. So on the opposite spectrum I can say the same thing. Survivor consistency is non existent. I may get two or three 4ks then a few 0ks (along with some in between). I feel like my MMR jumps between two levels. The level where it's too easy, and the level where it's too hard. Hardly ever in the middle.

You mean like the player? How do you know when the player is sad? I guess the killer may walk around with his head down and mumble under his breath. Otherwise, unless you're psychic, you're outta luck.

I won 30 games a row with wraith so winning few games does not telll anything. he is still weak killer if survivors know what to do.
Absolutely. I'll give you that without hesitation. I'm not even sure why I like him so much. Maybe it's the bell. haha

Let me get this straight.
If we play to win then that automatically means that we enjoy the suffering of others? If we ever meet then you'll be the first out of my game.
And I'll indeed enjoy it.

Well then yes, I’m a scrub. It secures your win. Ok, I get that. For you personally, do you tunnel? Asking this is a scrub question then, but then if you only look at terms of winning and losing so black and white, answer me this: Do you enjoy the suffering of others? It’s a yes or no question, just like winning. Do I win this match? Yes or no? Do I enjoy the suffering of others? Yes or no?
Let me get this straight.

On one hand you insult people in this thread as fools for agreeing with OPs experience and say everything is fine and on the other you yourself were frustrated enough, at an earlier point, to make a thread on here about it.
Experiences in this game differ from region to region, platform to platform and time of day. Maybe don't call other people names when you weren't much different at some point.
I didn't mean it as an insult. I meant foolish people.
That being said... if the shoe fits then wear it.

How many games must I lose as killer for my mmr to adjust?
I've only gotten a 3k once in the last 3 weeks, had a few 2ks but alot of 1k games in a row .
I started playing in 2022 but for some reason am paired against surv who started in 2017 and have played consistently since(no matter how many times I lose)
I've never even played survivor and it's still fun.

I stopped playing killer cause the MFT + Resilience + Hope meta is miserable to play against. I like to hang out on the forums and hope some good balance changes come up. That being said, it doesn't matter how many times you lose and your "MMR lowers" you will get shoved into lobbies that smart killers like myself dodged so that sweat SWF six doesn't have to wait too long to play. My suggestion would be to learn how to be selective with your lobbies. I can give you some pointers if you'd like
I avoid TTVs and obvious SWFs. Otherwise items and prestige levels dont bother me. If you avoid those then you'll never get good at the game.

What's your playstyle? Are you a one hook per survivor before the second killer? In other words, are you a nice killer?

It secures a win, I’m not THAT dumb. But can’t one find a strategy that doesn’t make the other side absolutely miserable? When I play survivor my intention isn’t to make a killer’s gameplay miserable.
My intention isn't to make your game unfun. My intention is to win. If I can't keep up with the gens then I have to resort to other means to secure a victory.

My post is not about LGBT+? I did not even ask to add more LGBT+ characters on my post. I just asked should we reveal all of them. And this does not mean they all will be LGBT+ characters. Only few of them are LGBT+ most likely.
Fair point.

Nay, I don't care. I support LGBTQ+ rights but, for the moment, everywhere I look I see it. Why bring it here too?

That makes sense. I guess tunneling just bothers me from my personal view of DBD “morality”. Like I personally think it’s not cool to tunnel because the person doesn’t get a chance to play.
There's your mistake. Your DBD morality is yours and yours alone.

TIL me hoping for killers to not slug me to death, facecamp from the beginning of the match or beat me on the hook as a common courtesy during an event is me whipping out the survivor rulebook
You won't get that from me.
-
@Skill_issue said:
As killer: what is the proper etiquette if a survivor is afk at the beginning of the match? Do you go slug them and leave, hit them once and leave, ignore them and chase the teammate, down them and hook them?
As killer: do you give the last survivor hatch if they stop wiggling on your shoulders/is the last one left or do you fight for the 4k?
As survivor: what is the proper etiquette when you open the exit gate? Do you farm with the killer? Offer your item? Do the butt dance to rub it in?
For both: if a survivor disconnects do you show mercy and farm or just finish the game as quickly as possible?
For both: if a survivor offers their item do you show mercy or hook them regardless?
For me if I am playing a low tier killer I go for the early hook otherwise I ignore the afk survivor, show mercy if a disconnect happens/an item is offered, and only worry about a 3k
and as a survivor I leave as soon as my teammates are safe(sometimes I leave my item behind) and if a disconnect happens I usually farm with the killer depending on how many gens we have done as a team.
What are your thoughts on proper etiquette in dbd?
I don't play survivor so I have no input there.
I came up on an AFK yesterday at the beginning on the match. As I was looking at her she began to nod her head saying she's there. She offered her med kit, I said no, she picked it back up and I left to find someone else. Had she not nodded I would've downed her.
Hatch. It completely depends on how I'm feeling at the moment but if it's obviously a new player then yeah, I give them the hatch.
DC: Depends on if I think, emphasis on I think, they DC because of me. If so then no mercy. If it seemed random then I'll let them have it.
Offering an item. It depends on the circumstance. If they're offering it because they know that they've been beaten then I'll hook/kill them. If they're offering as a trade for not hooking, hook it is. Sometimes they will offer an item to finish a gen and I'll accept. I ran noed, blood warden, and no way out during a match. It ended with two survivors trapped at the gates. Both of them offered their items and I killed them both.
Something I personally do... Once the gens are powered I open the gates. I don't enjoy playing during the EGC at all unless I'm running an end game build.
