I used to think this, but Nemmy is actually pretty decent. You just have to get really good with his whip.
I don't play him much anymore, the three reasons being:
- Awful, awful addons. Boring, weak, terrible iris.
- Zombies are janky and too easy to counter with a single flashlight.
- Some maps are inconsistent with whether you can whip through or over things.
This and also the fact that his tentacle gives survivor a free sprint burst when they're firstly injected with it.

Same with tricskter at 47% kill rate 😂

I remember that one guys said here that you can fix scretch res with literally one button.
He even showed the video about it.

It's like a worst current OoO
It definitely needs a rework with a similiar concept.

She takes the most skill out of any killer blight comes 2nd but still easier to control and manuever than her. She takes the spotlight because of the amount of predictive skill required to get in hits during chases mostly evident on lerries due to all the halls.
I don't think nurse right now requires the most skill of any killer. I would say cenobite gateway's power requires the most skill, since it requires from you to:
First: Succesfully place the gateway portal to be as close to survivor which works like a nurse's power.
And second: Succesfully aim the projectile chain which works like a rocket launcher and trust me from the big distance it's not very ez to do so.
Sure, nurse can't cancel her power, but she doesn't require two blinks to hit a survivor + she also has a brown addon that has place indicator of her power
-
I would honestly compare him to the pig that also suffers from very low rewarding M2 with good pressure ability with head traps. Both their M2 requires also a skill and strategy to use succesfully, but the reward is very... unworthy.
-
His gateway power is way worse than Clown's bottles, but at least he has a passive slightly pressure with the box and chain hunt. High C or low B tier.
-
I noticed that it also occurs when hooking other survivors. Happens also with Dead's Man Switch from PTB
-
Their power is very weak for pressure and is only strong when slugging or camping survivors. It's very limited if you want to get something more from it.

Remember when spirit fury + enduring was supposed to be op lol

You know what is crazy tho. A few years ago i mentioned it in a stream of a dev. Peanits laughed at me. Its actually very amusing that he is having to post this. Ha. (He may have forgotten. But i never forget)
They behave like a robots dude, it's like in every company. When your boss tells you that SWF is balanced, you need to listen to them or you'll get fired. Idk maybe Mathieu or Dave finally learned about the gap between SWF and solos or they're get bullied in games.

I'll try to keep this shorter than my last post, but to touch upon a few of the points you've brought up:
1: On the subject of The Nurse, using pick rates as a determining factor is very shaky territory. First, you've gotta consider the fact that part of the reason she's picked less often is due in part to the bugs with her power. Even if someone likes The Nurse and is doing moderately well with her, it's totally within the realm of possibility that the bugs were too frustrating for them to continue playing. Secondly, pick rate is not a universal thing. While it stands it reason that she may not be picked at lower skill levels (owing to her higher learning curve), she becomes far more popular at higher skill levels. I won't speak for everyone, but I'm assuming at least some people would like to see more Killers pop up regularly in the higher skill levels.
But beyond this, The Nurse's bug fixes is also a prime example of something that has come up a lot over the years. Often times we're asked to focus on things like game health rather than content / balance, and The Nurse and her various bugs was often tied directly to that as a poster child of sorts. Fixing these issues did require a complete redo of her coding, but it's a prime example of us doing exactly that: Putting content / balance to the side to focus on fixing things. I totally understand if you're not pumped for this next Mid-Chapter, but it's a pretty shocking reaction to something that was asked of us very often (focusing on fixes/game health over content).
2: To think point of Circle of Healing, I just want to say that this is absolutely not something we're ignoring. We make a point out of letting things settle before making rash decisions these days. Between PTBs & live these days, the changes we make are almost always fairly minor. We've been burned in the past by making rash decisions when the initial feedback was rough. Nowadays, we try to let everything have some time to settle before we start thinking about how it should change. This gives us a better idea of where it actually sits rather than making a knee jerk reaction and hoping it works out. Circle of Healing is an even trickier scenario since it came bundled with an entirely new mechanic (boons), so it's very important that we see how things work before diving head first into changes.
That said, though, I can't reveal if/what will happen to Circle of Healing right here, just please keep in mind that there's always a cycle that looks like this:
- Something releases
- Wait for it to settle
- Determine if changes are needed
- Create changes
3: On the subject of Freddy, I feel like this something that often gets misconstrued as well. In reality, kill rates only play a small role. You compared him to The Nurse, and I'm really glad you did because she's the perfect example of why that's not the case. The Nurse overall has a fairly low kill rate (well below the rest of Killers), but that doesn't mean she's weak. She's tough to play, and in the right hands, she can be hands down the best. But that also isn't necessarily a problem because there's a ton of skill that goes into playing her extraordinarily well, and there's also a lot of skill that goes into playing against her well.
In the case of Freddy, on the other hand, you had a Killer that was very strong without needing much thought or skill. Dropping a couple traps at a loop would yield very strong results with very little risk or strategy. His slight tweaks aimed to make the strategy of spamming traps constantly while in a chase less viable.
On the point of lack of skill, I won't delve too far into this, but that is a very loaded point to make. Many developers play the game daily (typically not with BHVR tags in their name, they don't want to be recognized). I myself used to stream this game three times per week, and I was playing at the higher ranks just fine. Sure, not every game developer's going to be ready to jump on an eSports team, but expecting everyone working on a game to be able to play it at a competitive level is a frankly unrealistic standard, even if some of them are pretty good.
Ok but why Pinhead was nerfed? He didn't had a 70% kill rate like Freddy back then, only 59%.
His skill cap is even way higher than nurse, since he must succesfully double aim to get use of his power, that is very lowely rewarding. Meanwhile Freddy was very and is very easy to learn, he doesn't have such a complex power like Pinhead. Why not wait a longer 'till making some changes to him? Now he's pretty much unfun to play as and even against, because of the unnecessary changes.

"If it doesn't end racism once and for all, then there's no point in doing anything at all." Absolutely brilliant take.
There a better ways to handle racism instead of removing features in the game.

Death wishes and threats are already perma bannable:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/W856UC27GOLO/image.png
Discriminatory comments are a temporary ban, but keep in mind it always goes into the escalation process, so it can lead to a permanent ban if done multiple times.
And as mentioned in the screenshot, screenshot and ticket are optional for this kind of offenses, but they help the process.
I don't think discriminatory comments should be still resolved in temporary bans. It would be a really good step to change it as the permanently bannable offenses without any warnings whatsoever. The second problem lays in fact that the offenders, even after being reported in customer support from a months ago are still able to play the game. This is really questionable why is it possible...

No one is pretending that removing the masks will "solve racism", it's the removal of a tool that facilitates discriminatory behavior, it's a preventive measure and it's definitely not going to put an end on racist behaviors, but it's not going to help it either.
Why not making racist harassment in game chat as a perma bannable offense, including homophobia, death wishing etc? With the proof of screenshot presenting it and submiting it to customer support it should be possible to ban offenders. I also suggest to inform players by improving the description of in-game reports that racism/homophobia etc is a bannable offense and you can report players by that.
-
It's sad to see how the game is in current state and how the PTB patch brings nothing to address this. I'll also watch a streamer or some gameplays from it, not really worth playing though

You might recognize the voice once you hear it 👀
BHVR's voice actor?
-
New voice lines maded by BHVR's voice actor and not the orginal propably
-
Don't get me wrong, I appreaciate this addition, but i think it should be mentioned in dev update. A lot of players wanted pinhead's voice lines to come back.
-
This is one the changes that everyone was excited to hear about, even though Cenobite is in very unfun state to play as, but...
Well removing masks is really important to type in dev update right?
-
What'e even point of testing and playing this PTB? There's literally nothing major to test...

Well it already coincides with what I can only describe as Behavior's willing acceptance of all form of toxicity in game
as long as it doesn't hurt certain groups of people...
Yes, let people death wish all of other people and their families, because it doesn't certainly hurt them!
-
I need to disappoint you, but they do not even ban for death wishing or threats. I reported the player at customer support with a proof with screenshot showing the death wish against me and my mom on post-game chat. I got my answer 28th december, they said they will handle that and to this day he didn't get any punishment. As well as I know death wishing is perma bannable so if BHVR wants to fight with the hate speech they're really need to do something about it and start finally banning these people.
-
They're busy removing letherface masks.
-
Tbh as you think about it, there is really no reason to test it. There are no important changes like map reworks, reducing their size layout, no killer rework etc in the PTB soooo I don't really know why we should test it
-
@Mandy said:
So because you can't "stop" something means you should allow it to continue and continue to provide the tools for people to carry out this abhorrent behaviour? I really don't think so.
Removing masks from Letherface isn't really a solution. The report system needs an improvent and also your team will need to hire more people for customer support and finally start banning people for racism/homophobia/death wishing/threaths etc. The current one is awfully functioning. Even with proof the perpetrators are still able to play a game.
-
I mean they can always hire me so I can check out the reports and ban these racist people, but well BHVR prefers to remove features from the game lol
-
Yeah, I don't like this change. It's so stupid. It's gonna be so abusable on RPD in library.
-
No. No matter what they do there will be always a people that will harass other people because of their color of skin. Removing bubba's masks is honestly pointless at this point.

They should make it so you can spend your tokens whenever you want like dead hard. No one will use it anyway, because it's situational.

I don't justify it. BHVR did when they responded to a topic about toxicity by saying that it's just normal in 'online multiplayer games'. It's clear that they don't want to bother putting any more effort in then they have with their pathetic 'filter'. That's why they come up with such blockheaded excuses for toxicity.
It is not normal, everyone has a bad day, but wishing someone death is way too much. You can't justify something like this.
-
@Dionysus42 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2729761#Comment_2729761
That's just normal 'smack talk' and the 'word toxic has no meaning' anymore because it's used with petty stuff like that. BHVR doesn't care if there's no low-effort fix.
You jusify death wishes and death threats with smack talk? So what, everyone can now death wish everyone without any punish? This is what you wanted to say?
-
Also @MandyTalk off of the topic. May I ask why you guys not permanent banning players that are using death threaths against other players and their families? I supported a ticket with a proof with screenshot in chat, where player in different language said that he hopes that I'll die in censored word like my mother. The person from customer support called Robert said he will handle that but he was still not banned. How is that allowed?

You're wasting a slot for something that will happen very rarely. But well, it's your choice
-
@Mandy said:
We stated then that the reason such a big patch was done was that we had the extra bandwidth to be able to do things, we did say this isn't something that will always happen and some patches will have more content than others. We try to do as much as possible within our timeframes and other constraints.
Why do you protect them so much? It's not your job anyway, we expressed that we don't like the current state of some features in the game and we still get ignored. The current state of the game for killers and solo players is unplayable and changing some underwhelming perks will not change it.

Still doesnt work if theyre close together.
And you think it will work with wake up? That's the problem of RNG.
-
you can do that, even without wake up.
Wait, progress the gate and stop before the first light at it will highlight, stop, wait until killer leaves and rush the gate.
-
Freddy?
-
The only perk that actually received a good change.
Coup de grace will be still useless, because you have no control over using it how you want.
Most of the survivor perks changed in this update are gonna be still used by no one. Instead of buffing the numbers they should reworked them with a similiar concept.

I mean, it should be a useful Perk. It wont be after the Buff, so the Buff is pointless. But not problematic at all.
It'll be problematic, you know how fast you gain a wiggle progress combined it with unbreakable and flip flop? You will either need to pick up instantly without looking or slug the downed survivor under a pallet.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2729200#Comment_2729200
Ah yes, just throw in "SWF" to pretend that a bad Perk is good.
All the complaints are about SWFs stacking Meta-Perks, but nope, SWFs stacking Power Struggle is the big deal. The Perk was bad and it will probably not used much after the Buff.
And you think this change for this awfully designed perk is good? It needs a rework, not a buff.
-
@dspaceman20 said:

Are you crazy? There is no way that power struggle is op.
You literally didn't played against 4 man SWF against this perk with flip flop and unbreakable. They down themselves under the pallet and the other survivor is pressuring you, wasting your time to activate power struggle and the survivor pressuring you also has power struggle and is under the pallet and the process repeats again.
-
They should completely reworked them, literally most of players hates playing them and against.

@Hoodied said:

Power struggle was horrible why are you complaining about it
You know how boosted this perk is with SWF? This perk was horrible, because it was situational and useful with specific build. Instead of making it even more boosted, they should completely rework this perk to be also useful for solo players and be counterable by a killers.
