Very much so. If there is any kind of barrier between me and the survivor then their footsteps are non-existent.
-
It's pretty luck based. Kindred can help you position yourself for saves if necessary. Rush gens as fast as possible and hope to god somebody even goes down when the gates are powered. Then open one yourself and get a save by any means necessary.
-
Demoman is blindable despite not having visible eyes. I believe the excuse is that he is "light sensitive."
-
Nah. Do gens. Punish him yourself.

Meh. Some of you get it. Some of you don't. I'm not going to beat my head against a wall. If you want to have fun pointing out my gameplay errors, have fun. Turning to run and bumping into the killer isn't a decision, it's ######### that happens. I'm sure none of you expert critics out there ever run into a tree or get stuck on a corner etc. when you get hit. Again, not the point, but again... its what you want to focus on because you don't want to admit the point. Whatever.
I've admitted the error of not taking the hit to get BT. Someone else mentioned just running a different direction... armchair QB isn't a good position for this game. Killer would have followed and I'd be downed. My decision was to run straight for the gate assuming I'd get teammates taking hits (which they did). The problem (ASIDE FROM NOT TAKING A BT HIT) is that the gates weren't opened or have anyone waiting to open them. When I saw that, I still ran to the gate to open them since I thought that was best for the team and maybe I could make it.
One last thing and I'm done with this thread. You critics are just focused on scoring your forum points. And maybe some of you genuinely believe that there is no reason to stay at the 99 doors to avoid this situation. Fair enough. But seriously... focus on the big picture. The game is messy. People make heat-of-the-moment errors all game long. What we do have under our control is strategic and tactical decisions. Critical decisions that affect the gameplay in big ways. Should we work the gen, go for the save, find the Hex totem, heal this guy or go save that guy... etc. You need to get the strategic stuff right to allow for more messiness and errors in the skill based, heat of the moment stuff, yet still win. Basically, if the team plays smart and makes the right decisions they can make more heat-of-the-moment mistakes and do well.
My belief is that the strategic choice to 99 the doors is best if you stay near the door to open them to avoid someone being chased... whether they have made errors or not to get them to that spot.... having to pause to open them and get caught. I'm done.
This is a weird hill to die on. If you don't want to admit you made mistakes, that's fine. Just don't be surprised when people call you out for it.
-
I'm pretty sure that is not an exploit. If the survivors can get somewhere you can too. There is a very thin line you can walk across.
-
Wraith is very good for points, but without good addons he's a chore to use. I've been using Freddy and Oni for right now. Freddy is highly relaxing to play and Oni is enjoyable (on most maps). Though I will use other killers because they actually have streamers and puddings available.
-
I heard about what he's going through. My grandmother died of lung cancer and my mother dealt with breast cancer years ago. Terrible disease and I sincerely hope Panda doesn't let himself fall into dark times. Best we can do is give him our thoughts, support and prayers (I'm not the religious type but it's the thought that counts).
Notzdarva is smart and funny but I'm sure you've already heard of him. Damnnohtml can be really funny and is knowledgeable. Tru3 releases a ton of content and knows the game extremely well. Marth88 is brilliant but I'm not sure if he still plays dbd.
Cheers.

Michael's Vanity Mirror
Awful version of Scratched Mirror; current reduces movment speed by 8%, and in exchange gives 16 meters of wallhacks.
I would change it so the wallhacks and movment speed debuff are gone. Instead the mirror would reduce terror radius by 4 meters, increase tier 2 lunge by 0.2 seconds, but also keep the denial of tier 3. This way Myers can be a hyper stealthy killer without having to gimp himself. The wallhacks of the current vanity mirror are awful, especially in conjunction with the awful movment speed (slower than huntress, makes him get looped -extremely- hard).

They are literally reworking doctor as we speak
-
Clown has better perks as of right now. Doc's perks might get changed when the rework goes through, but it's hard to tell.
-
Play killer first. Buy bubba if you're willing to spend 5 dollars for a good beginner character. Playing survivor can be very harsh for new players.
-
It's there as an option if you literally cannot complete the game (or you have to get off the game for personal reasons). I remember recently my game bugged out during end game collapse. Last survivor was "sacrificed" when the timer ended, my game didn't. I waited five minutes and realized I would have to use the leave match button.
Sadly people often misuse the button when the game isn't going their way.
-
What about a Rancor? One might be too big for most maps, but they would be more thematic as a brutal monster. Vader is brutal and intimidating, true, but a lightsaber and force powers would be inescapable.
-
Death star but that's just because I love indoor maps.
-
Demoman's a decent killer. Good in some areas but not great in any either. Some map pressure, potential lethality with the shred, decent tracking with killer instinct. He embodies the phrase, "Jack of all trades, master of none."
-
I'm pretty sure the clown already has a vaguely Gacy inspired cosmetic. As for Dahmer, I doubt they'd create a killer after him. I mean what would they call him? The Cannibal?
I could see a killer inspired by Ted Bundy, though. He was a true psychopath despite being seemingly friendly and genuine. The scariest monsters are the ones hiding in plain sight.
-
Doc can Instagrab while in treatment mode. If someone is dumb enough to unhook in front of you he'll grab them and they can't fake it.

Yes getting dumped on by a group is way better
Survivors are rarely good or coordinated at rank 20
-
Chainsaws always start 1st try in movies.
-
People are gonna be sweating hard but that's normal for bloodhunt. Just sweat back and don't let yourself get worked up.
-
Only way to hold the game hostage is if you body block someone in a corner and never hit them.
-
It's gonna be the woman they talked about in the archives, probably the Siren as somebody else said. Personally I hope they steer away from new licensed killers for a while

I think you're confusing siren with banshee xD
Ahh dang you're right. Still would be nice to see a banshee someday :)
-
Her power will let her scream really loudly and burst the eardrums of anyone wearing headphones.

That gen times are terrible and something must be done.
That's an argument, not an actual point. I agree that maps are the big issue, but I disagree about gen times. If you make them longer, you drive away survivors, because holding m1 on gens is boring enough as is.
Gens are done too quickly because the majority of maps are too large and safe to down good survivors effectively. Rarely will you down survivors in 15 seconds unless they're potatoes, or you've got spirit fury and enduring ready to go or max stacks on save the best for last. Sadly map issues have been around for years, and at the rate the devs are going, will remain for several more.
A good middle ground would be to increase the total generators required to finish, while decreasing the time it takes to complete one. This way chases can be long (which is the fun part of being a survivor), while killers can chase and have fun without being on a constant time crunch. Camping would likely need to be majorly nerfed, though. Current gen speeds were balanced with camping in mind, so that way a killer can't facecamp the first survivor and compeltely win the game due to gen speeds being too slow.
-
What happened during the match? That point distribution is odd.
-
I can never hear footsteps unless someone is behind me (regardless of chase music or not). And when i turn to face them, the footsteps go away. People can be running directly in front of me and it's like they're tiptoeing around in socks. Really annoying, pretty much have to run stridor on every killer and hope for the best.
-
Agreed. I love Wraith, but that God awful lunge kills me inside. Will probably fixed in the next patch, which is hard to say when it will come.
-
Nyes, open that door early. Blood warden is so uncommon... totally won't come into play 😈
-
I don't think so just yet. If they stay on their current track of releasing more and more content, without stopping to address long standing map and bug issues, I can't see this game lasting more than a year or two.
-
I will ask beforehand if i want to farm. Otherwise I'll play normally unless somebody else asks me.
-
I had somebody say, and I quote, "I'm not saying your mom should die in a horrible fire, but I will say I hope nothing good happens to her ever again." Such a cheerful and friendly community :)
-
Camping is always acceptable as it doesn't break any rules. However it is a poor strategy that will be countered by smart survivors. Proxy camping is very effective, though. Especially if you have someone in the basement or in an area of the map you're defending. I don't blame killers for camping, though I agree it's incredibly annoying when they do it early on in the match.

Yes they gave thoughts then they got asked a question. Then we have you over here berating someone for "being an ass". Admit your comment was unnecessary and detrimental to the health of this thread.
That wasn't a question. It wasn't a response to what they said. They were talking down to them for disagreeing that huntress is worse than Nurse. I'm not going to argue with you and get this thread locked. Good day.

He was just asking a question
And the person they were responding to was just giving their thoughts, something the OP asked for.

Did you need to be an ass about it?

If you're a new player, it's best to play killer first and foremost. It's the easiest way to get used to the game and it's mechanics without being driven away by the harsh nature of the gameplay.
-
I love huntress on console. The hitboxes are super lenient, and most players don't seem to know how to play around her (probably because they rarely see her). I play with Shadowborn, though, which is basically a bandaid fix for the game's God awful FoV.
-
Hex ruin, bbq and chili, spirit fury, enduring. You should try it. I have never seen anyone run it ever.
-
Poor quality bait
-
He'll likely be getting a full add-on rework like nurse. What this means is anyone's guess. The fact that they're removing the stance swap is 100% a buff objectively speaking. He needlessly loses movment speed, and the time it takes to stance swap often will deny him the hit or make timing the shocks very difficult. I kind of doubt these changes will make him a top tier killer in the way the Freddy changes did, but I do believe doctor will have more opportunity to be played optimally.
-
Ruin is a bandaid fix for gen speeds. Killers can often win if played optimally; meaning they run solid builds to complement their power and halt gen progression, end chases quickly, and kill someone quickly. You ran noed every game, though, which can allow any killer to win regardless of their skill or time management.
Also, when you included the ranks, were those referring to the ranks of your opponents or the ranks you reached? Because it is impossible to reach rank 1 from rank 7 after just 4 games.
-
Dead Hard is frustrating to go against, but I think balanced landing is more annoying. If a gen spawns next to a hill, you ain't catching nobody who BLs to the other side of the map.
Some Killers look for any reason to get mad. I once had a spirit facecamp me for "abusing" a window on father Campbell's chapel... one of the most balanced maps in the game. Just play the game how you want and laugh at the chumps who get mad. That's all you can hope to do
-
No offense, but I sincerely hope that never happens.
-
He's not garbage, but he's a shadow of his former self. They're planning on improving the feel of his flick, which hopefully fixes the major clunkiness of his power.
-
Awful map for most killers. Too big, too many safe tiles strung together. Almost a guaranteed loss if you aren't playing Billy, freddy or spirit. Disgusting map to play on, and I'm considering disconnecting every time someone burns an offering for it.
-
My comment asking if this was a bait post got deleted. How nice :)

I've heard rumors from these videos that speed limiter Leatherface is the new oppressive killer as well.
Speed limiter is toxic and you know it. Literally no counterplay.
