Not really, as it's hard to prove when someone with experience makes a new account. Deranking is a part of the game so as far as I know, it isn't bannable; problem is, 3 gen strategy is a part of the game but is bannable if it goes on for 10 minutes straight, so who knows.
-
I'm not gonna go full power trip but I'm not gonna play nice anymore. Normally I'd cut my enemies some slack if they fall behind (ruin used to afford me time, so i paid it forward and gave them time), but now I'm not gonna hold back and just stomp them every single time. I don't blame my fellow killers for lashing out, but I don't condone them.
-
Just git gud baby killer! Hex ruin is such a crutch anyway. Now if you'll excuse me, I am currently waiting in a 20+ minute survivor queue with my favorite survivor build: dead hard, decisive strike, adrenaline and unbreakable. Cheers!

Corrupt intervention is a very good choice for trapper.
-
Stacking the addons that make survivors drop more orbs can be pretty nuts, especially if you run a perk like sloppy butcher. They leave tons of blood everywhere so you can be in demon form pretty consistently.
-
Finally the moonwalk exploit is gone. My fellow killer mains can finally rest easy. Thank you bhvr for tackling the real issues ๐
-
I just want it to affect gens within 40 meters, and have a cooldown of 20 seconds. That's all it really needs imo. Current surge is almost worthless unless you're using specific killers with highly complimentary perks.

I mean, sure, let's not have a productive discussion ever, let's shittalk the devs and not solve anything apparently that's what people are going for today
Listen, man. I agree with you. But the devs have shown time and again they will ignore feedback and discussions as much as possible.
There is literally no reason to trust they'll fix maps in a timely manner. Springwood for example got FIVE GODDAMNN variants, when 2 would have been fine. Then 6 months later they rework one of the smallest maps in the game (I like how it looks so I won't trash it too much). At this rate maps like haddonfield, asylum, Thompson's House and red forest will remain exactly the same for upwards of six months, likely years.

I do wish I were joking. My pointer finger's been messed up and in pain for days (which isn't uncommon but usually doesn't last this long), and spamming the button with my thumb puts more stress on it and is causing pain in my thumb as well.
BHVR needs to [BAD WORD]ing fix second state, because the button spamming is a terrible mechanic.
I second this as well. Too many times I'll start freaking out because my thumb gets tired, and I'll be too scared to switch fingers because stopping for more than a fraction of a second kills you. Really poorly thought out, like much of the game lol
-
Large maps like red forest should have 9 gens on the map with 7 to complete. Ruin will no longer be a factor so I think it's time to start working toward balancing gen speed on bigger, safer maps.
-
Killers will be slugging and patrolling hooks much more frequently, especially once they see how fast gens can go with no early game slowdown. Discordance might get popular, but then survivors will just work on gens by themselves (which is more optimal in the long run). Infectious Fright will likely be in every game to snowball more, and spirit fury enduring will surge again despite not actually being that good. Personally I'll likely run Infectious Fright, pop goes the wheesel, bbq and chili, then maybe whispers or surveillance.
Survivor survival rate will skyrocket which is likely the intention behind the ruin nerf. Unbreakable will likely surge to hard counter prevalent slugging.

I don't want to be that guy who complains about something so trivial but I'm going to anyway. I really wish they would have worked something out with the guy on YouTube who made Chase music for each killer.
Agreed. His music is much more intense and unique than this drivel behavior came up with.

I really hope this is a pitiful attempt at trolling.
Nvm it is. Carry on everybody. Sorry for jumping the gun, just a little frustrated.

Naturally. But if that's the case, those who can't play at a high level will derank to a place where they're more comfortable. That is the point of a ranking system, after all.
I like how the one dev who shows up to comment compeltely ignores the post itself to respond to a random comment about deranking. Bloody brilliant, man.
-
There shouldn't even be a delay. As soon as the shock goes through he should be able to swing instantly. He already slows down when shocking, adding yet another artificial slowdown will only hinder his potential.
-
Agreed, the map looks beautiful. I can't test the map myself, but it looks like scratched mirror might still be good on Lery's. Hard to say, though.
-
Literally nobody cares about their meaningless emblem system. I'm not sure how this disconnect is occurring. Do they seriously not understand how fast generators can go? Marth88's team record was about 2 minutes and 50 seconds, and no significant gen speed changes were made after this. I'm not sure if they're being willfully ignorant, or genuinely can't see the glaring issues with their core gameplay. Ruin was a bandaid fix for gen speeds, and with it gone there is nothing to stop gens from being done early which limits snowball potential and discourages the killer to "play nice."
And the fact that they're pandering to newer players hurts my brain. Especially after the rank reset changes are funneling everyone to red ranks. No matter how much they try to make the game easier for new players, many will still leave in droves for one reason or another. Meanwhile they're actively driving away the older players. I agree that Ruin needed to be changed, but doing it now while so many long standing map issues haven't been addressed at all is mind boggling to me.
-
Oh boy. I really hope some of these changes don't go live. Doc was never good but now it's like they're rubbing salt in the wound.
-
Hey, Hag is a damn fine killer and will likely be the best when it's all said and done. NoED is free, too. It ain't all bad, friend.
-
######### hex ruin. I am no longer friends with hex ruin. Corrupt intervention is my homie now.

I'm thinking about trying Infectious Fright + STBFL and taking out RM + Fire Up. Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think Remember Me does that much. I have to open the gates myself anyways to get Blood Warden to work
Don't use remember me or fire up. Both are not worth bringing.
-
NoED and haunted grounds pair well together. Pretty luck based but it's hilarious when they're scrambling to find NoED but pop HG instead. Blood warden is an obvious choice, but too situational. Infectious fright and save the best for last are great too, as they can let you slug very efficiently.
-
WGLF should give stacks if you escape a chase with the killer and don't got hooked within 60 seconds (getting into a chase again will still give a stack after that 60 seconds, assuming you aren't downed or hooked). This way it rewards skill and parallels BBQ rewarding the killer for hooking.
-
This version of Ruin is too weak to be a hex, but too strong to be a normal perk. Best way to fix it is to make it so the regression is exactly the same as the progression a single survivor (with no speed up bonuses) makes when working on a gen, or 1:1. If they don't make this change, ruin will be doomed to obscurity, as it will only synergize with a handful of perks like Thrilling Tremors.
-
People are passionate about this game. Arguably as much if not more so than the devs themselves. When the community sees glaring issues, they make them known. But lately bhvr has been ignoring feedback, despite actively asking for it. I understand people's frustrations and the devs should too.
-
I will stay for the time being. If doctor is made worse, I might change my mind and find another game to put my time and money into. Last Year looks pretty good :P
-
Third Seal is awful.
Lullaby is decent, assuming it stays up long enough for you to get stacks. It takes more effort to get it to be useful than Devour Hope, which lets you one shot at just 3 stacks.
-
I'm guessing it won't give a full tier of madness at base, and you'll be forced to run addons if you want the blast to work properly. We'll find out tomorrow when the ptb arrives.
-
Eh, trapper is better with corrupt intervention anyway. But I do agree for killers like Clown. Hope everybody likes going against NoED instead.
-
No, they're pretty adamant on doing whatever they please. They ignored criticisms made about the spirit and nurse nerfs. They ignored feedback about the Oni. I doubt they'll change pace with Doc and Ruin.
-
"NoED is unfair"
Literally can denied by survivors. If that's somehow unfair, then why isn't decisive strike or say Sprint burst? There is nothing the killer can do to deny them from being used. Based on your own logic btw.
-
Infectious Fright every game, for most killers anyway. Pop goes the wheesel to slow down gens and Spirit Fury Ensuring to deal with strong loops. Such interactive gameplay.
-
@Peanits said:
I'd hesitate to call the Doctor and Lery's updates nerfs, especially given you haven't had a chance to play them first. I would say give it a try once the PTB is live. That's the point of a PTB, after all.
You guys really need to be more transparent with this stuff. People will always jump to conclusions, and with the way those designer notes were worded, I don't blame them. For this game's sake, I sincerely hope you guys wake up and smell the grease fire you're fueling.
-
Meta build when change goes live will be exactly the same, just with corrupt intervention over ruin. Slugging and tunneling will become even more prevalent. Survivor queues will skyrocket. I really hope the devs wake up and smell the grease fire they're creating, before it's too late.
-
Ahh yes, the classic "you're an X main so your opinion is invalid." Mettle of Man was gutted, I'll give you that, but it was poorly thought out in the first place. The fact that the devs thought it was ever okay in its original form is beyond me. Balanced Landing is still the exact same perk, you just can't abuse it anymore. Borrowed Time has been buffed consistently since legion and deep wounds were introduced. Decisive Strike was BUFFED so that every survivor gets its benefits, NOT just the obsession.
Try again, please.
-
I think it's still a hex because the killer literally cannot kick gens while it's active. Which is an absolutely idiotic change. Seriously not convinced the devs play this game anymore. The fact that they would ever call a totem (that isn't devour hope) a "late game perk" absolutely baffles me.
-
At long last, hex ruin and corrupt will have synergy with one another.
-
@Almo said:
I would like to point out that you could take both. If the Ruin totem is cleansed, they've just activated PGtW! :D
Listen, I know you're not in charge, so I'm not gonna bring you down for these changes. But can you please talk to the team and ask what the flying flubbernugget they were thinking? Why did they decide it was a good idea to remove the bandaid fix for gen speeds instead of, you know, actually address gen speeds? I get why ruin was nerfed, I really do. But you guys can't just knock down a load bearing wall like that.
-
I'm glad they're finally bringing an overpowered killer perk in line. I can't wait for them to do the same for overpowered survivor perks. Surely they will... right?
...right?...
-
@Mandy said:
Can I remind you that it's still got to be tested on the PTB - numbers can still be adjusted, please just try it out, then give feedback on it.
Why would your group announce the changes if they don't want feedback? That's like bringing chewing gum to school and acting surprised when everyone wants a piece.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
This is untrue. Neither tunneling nor Hex: Ruin are mandatory to play successfully as killer.
If you're playing against chill survivors, then you're right. If the survivors are optimal on gens and when looping (neither of which is hard to do or learn), then the game will be over before the killer can get everyone on their death hook. Slugging will become the meta when these changes go through. Hope everyone enjoys it.
-
Mehhhh. Fixing the game's underlying issues is too harddddd. Nerfing ruin and making survivors happy is so much easier. At least the gatekeeper emblem is getting changed? Amirite or amirite? ๐ค
-
Community: will you rework the survivor objective? It is boring to do and is done too quickly.
Bhvr: oh yeah, definitely
Also bhvr: hey guys. We're removing the bandaid fix for gen speeds. But we're also changing the gatekeeper emblem so you're less likely to depip when all the gens are done in 5 minutes. We hope you enjoy playing against the same 3 killers every game, while survivor queue times skyrocket.

Is this serious.
Mettle of Man.
Balanced Landing.
Self-Care wasn't hit much further back either.
Ahh I forgot about mom. That's fair, but BL wasn't gutted btw. It's still the exact same perk you just can't abuse it any more. Self care still gives a free health state so it's hardly been trashed. Seriously, though. If you aren't noticing this trend, you should look for it. First nurse, then spirit, now ruin. If you really think this will make people want to play killer, you are sorely mistaken. I'm not looking forward to doubling my queue time as survivor.
-
Hope everyone likes 20 minute queues just to verse hillbilly, spirit and Freddy. Because that's the game dead by daylight will become. It was a fun ride while it lasted ๐
-

Lol.
Survivor perks have been slaughtered on a regular basis, killers finally get the #1 crutch in the game ("It's not a crutch because we ~NEED~ it) nerfed and the meltdowns begin en masse. Beautiful.
Name 1 survivor perk that has been "slaughtered" in the past year.
-
I'm conflicted. The changes to ruin seem good, but like you said, the devs aren't addressing WHY it's used so often. I would ask what the devs were thinking, but I'm not convinced they even were thinking. I'll hold my tongue until I see the ptb, but I'm not convinced any of the changes they're making are for the better.
-
Man, I can't wait for 5 minute games to become the standard. Thank you bhvr for making the survivor role even easier :D
-
Hmm, when I first heard that they were nerfing hex ruin I could feel a vein popping in my forehead. They can't possibly be this stupid, right? Nerfing hex ruin before decisive strike or borrowed time. Not surprising, but at least the gatekeeper emblem is being reworked right? That'll fix everything /s
The change seems interesting, though. Gen's regressing without even being kicked has a lot of applications, but I wonder if this was done to break the synergy ruin has with pgtw. Because as far as I know you can't kick an already regressing generator. Shame they decided to nerf a HEX perk, which can be spawned so far away that the killer might never to get to physically see it before it's broken. Really hope the devs know what they're doing.
Off topic technically, but I'm getting worried about the doctor rework. I can't see them making him worse, but they definitely don't seem to be making him better overall.
-
It will be reworked when nurse gets reworked 3 years from now. Hope you like the jungle gym on steroids, because the devs aren't concerned with reworking maps at a steady rate atm.
