  • Trickster.

Him and Skull Merchant could probably hit it off greatly because of how horrible they both are just for the sake of it.

  • Really appreciate it.

But will this also be done for the add-ons and their usage? Because I can imagine that being transparent like this about the top 10 used perks in an x amount of time (with the last perk overhauls in mind) it might be safe to assume that there will be more perk/meta changes coming in the future. But how about add-ons? Especially given that some like Blight's and Nurse's have been left to catch dust for a long time.

  • I'd take a break. Maybe when you come back try some fun perks? Like Head-on and the likes?

  • Although I understand the frustration and the fact of the matter that they were using him just as a "cosmetic", the thing is the opposite doesn't KNOW that they're also NOT using his perks. Which can throw someone off, because they might be second-guessing a lot of what happens in a trial. Which is unnecessary. It is a rule for a reason.

Shouldn't all cosmetics be purchaseabe with shards after a while? Didn't you guys say that while ago?

BHVR changes what they said 'a while' ago all the time. The only consistent thing is that what they say is temporary. Maybe in a couple of months or years, they're going to say something else again.

Can confirm. It's so off-putting and makes me think my internet is acting up.

THIS!!! The number of times I tabbed to check my ping... bruh.

  • @honeyhero said:

Past few games since update on PC, any time any survivor is hooked by any killer on any map the survivor scream comes in about a second or two before they are actually hooked.

unsure if it’s just a visual/audio bug but a couple times Pain Resonance went off before animation of survivor being hooked started making me think maybe the animation is the one that’s delayed

It's the same with hits, they're without audio.

  • @Nazzzak said:

Agreed. I like the idea above about not starting the game if someone's ping is above a certain level

This. One of the few in this topic that seems to actually get it.

Well BHVR needs to get on that, but until they do, there’s no need to punish players trying to avoid it with a VPN.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3495722#Comment_3495722

The OP is suggesting to punish any player with a VPN. How exactly can they track if they’re VPNing to a different region or not if they can’t find their initial IP?

How is asking for something to be done against players with VPN, thus high ping, the same as asking for them to be punished in your head??? That doesn't even make sense.

Don't twist my words into some BS.

You want to use VPN? Fine, get matched with people of your own ping then, but not with others with VASTLY DIFFERENT PING so you can abuse hit-validation and a whole lot of other things. Unless you're the lot that thrives on bs games BECAUSE you're using vpn and not so much because of "online safety".

  • What are you doing then? The way you've posted your OP certainly comes across like you are.

  • @M1_gamer said:

If you want to be a gen defender play skull merchant lol.

Skull Who? Error 404. Mentioned killer does not exist.

  • @GannTM said:

Punishing people for trying to avoid getting DDOSed isn’t the way to go.

This is a whole different subject though. It shouldn't be up to the players to protect themselves against getting DDOSed, it's BHVRs job to protect their players 😅

    @Leon_Scott_Kennedy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/380229/people-vpn-ing

Matches just shouldn’t start if anyone’s ping is higher than 120 ms, it should try to match you in lobbies where everyone has below that only

    Agreed.

  • Instead of focusing on winning try to learn your killers better. Switch up your perks, your playstyle, and learn what works best for you and your games.

Maybe focus on certain aspects of the game first, try to get better at those, then work on getting 3-4Ks.

how about survivors lose the game after the killer wins? it's not hard to just take the L.

Hatch is NOT WINNING. How many people need to tell you that? Put on an aura reading perk if have so much trouble finding 1 survivor and 1 hatch, and stop whining.

  • @Brix said:

    Wesker suffering from success lol

lmao for real. Wesker mains where survivors are concerned:

    FuulCN_aYAAKp_0.jpeg

  • It's not counted as a win. They just get BP and the game ends. Survivors can "sit" on the hatch, though in my 2-3k hours, I've never seen them do that for longer than 10 seconds, but you can just find them and close it. It's a race for hatch on both sides, whoever finds it first deals with it.

If you don't want to wait that long, guess what? You can OPEN a gate and have EGC start.

  • Gamer, the first thing you mentioned was literally BNPs.... 😅

  • He is a long-range killer, his TR is fine as is. If you'd like you can put on Monitor and Abuse?

  • The devs don't care about infinites. Garden of Pain has proven that since its existence. Well, that is if we're ignoring OG Haddonfield.

  • It's because Nemesis' power is his infection/tentacle. The zombies are an added extra and they are AI. IIRC the devs said they have no plans on changing the zombies being stunned by flashlights. Because it's not hindering you yourself as a killer, as it did with Wraith/Nurse/Artist/Hag.

Even when the zombies are stunned they're giving you a lot of information: that survivors are nearby and are working on a gen. Which is VERY useful.

  • On survivor it's a bit 50/50, really depends on your teammates and the killer. But more so on your mindset. If you're not having fun as survivor at whatever time of day or day itself, switch to Killer and try to have fun.

I have 3 killers I'm maining: Ghostface, Nemesis, and Wesker. Whenever I'm having bad games as survivor I just switch to playing killer and play the type I'd want to face myself. If the survivors are trying-harding, then fair enough I'll accommodate, if they're not then I honestly could care less if I get a 3k or none. I'm just there to have fun.

  • Ngl I know gamers on the forums are facing a lot of Weskers, but he is SO FUN to play as!! 😭 I at least try to be very nice, I will hook everyone twice but will let them go.

Also the amount of people who will just stand there and take the hit and just wanna meme has been insane.

There are plenty of Survivor techs that have been in the game for years that are barely complained about yet have much more of an impact. Here a few just off the top of my head:

Trap Buffering: At first was declared a bug which was fix, and was intentionally reintroduced in a later patch

Crouch Tech: Makes some killers glide right off of you instead of landing a hit because of crouching at a surface that is lower than the killer (Most notable killers are Billy, Blight and Demo)

Window Tech: Allows you to phase through the killer while theyre performing a vault. Al though difficult and inconsistent, can still very much throw the killer off

CJ Tech: Vaulting into a locker, window, or most commonly a pallet to make the killer pick up a downed Survivor thanks to overriding the prompt.

Vault Tech: While the Wraith or Sadako are cloaked/demanifested, spam vault at pallet to force them to uncloaked/manifest.

Stagger Cancelling: Using a prompt (most commonly vaults) to cancel a stagger from either a drop down or killer power

Phase Tech(?): Using a map, key, or the perk Clairvoyance grants you the ability to lose collision with the killer.

Input Buffer: Allows the person to complete an action that they otherwise wouldnt be able possible thanks to your action taking priority. Most commonly shown with The Doctor with vaulting or dropping a pallet despite being shocked. Can also be done by getting a fast vault by buffering the input at an odd angle.

Then there are several other killers who have insane techs, way more impactful than hug tech will ever be (Not all of these are as strong as hug tech, but they are still clearly unintended and can still be very impactful depending on the situation)

Input Buffering: Similar to Survivors, but can be used with some killer powers instead. Most notable being Trapper who can place traps in places he otherwise wouldnt be able to, causing the trap to be shoved into the ground (only works on specific spots)

Curving: Utilizing certain obstacles, allows killers who have some sort of collision mechanic to slide right off of said obstacle despite running directly into it. Most notable examples being Billy, Demo, and Blight

Flicking: Allows certain killers to ignore their camera restrictions while using their power. Most notable being Oni or Pyramid Head

FL Cancel: Allows killers to cancel their powers due to being blinded. Most notable example being Legion

Locker Bend(?): Allows the Dredge to exit a locker at a different angle. Some what inconsistent and can leave him stuck inside the locker instead.

Drag Tech: Allows the Nemesis to drag his tentacles hitbox with him while moving.

Urobend: As Wesker, dash while looking in a different direction than youre going and then colliding with a Survivor will cause you to go into the direction your looking instead of forward.

Un named Tech: Looking up or down has a variety of different benefits for certain killers. Most notable examples being Freddy who can place Snares through walls thanks to this or Bubba who can hug some surfaces much tighter.

And finally the most loved tech of all which is still possible in certain places... Skybilly: Allows the Hillbilly to reach new heights when colliding and dropping with some obstacles at a certain angle.

Great that you wrote an essay, but that has zero to do with the OP. This discussion is about Blight. The devs have even confirmed that hug tech IS as a matter of fact a bug.

  • I main GF and I think MFT is fine, but I also had no issues with old old DH (Dead hard for distance). It just challenges you to mind game more, and it's all the more rewarding when you get them.

Playing SoloQ is worse than Killer. As killer, you can always change tactics and make a comeback. But if you're teammates aren't doing much, it's pretty much ggs.

    De-pipping needs to go.

  • @Xord said:

Is this being looked at? Multiple threads about it, all pending.

maybe when nick cage comes out they put out an update with 20 bugs instead of 50. God forbid this game comes with an update that doesn't make everything worse.

  • I've had this non-stop since singularity and to add to it I keep getting the other error as well that says I'm logged into a different account >.<

  • @AssortedSorting said:

15 seconds spent picking up a Survivor and carrying them to a Hook, and then walking away from a Hook, could very well be 45s other Survivors spent working on Gens.

Going for a 4 slug is much riskier, but there is a time benefit to it.

On the one hand yes, but not when that's all you do all game until everyone bleeds out.

  • Wasn't Sheva with Carlos? Or am I misremembering?

I don't mind playin against em. I like it. However, when I play from 8pm to 4pm and every single match is against this dude, sorry not sorry it gets OLD.

It's ridiculous. My partner was like why do you keep fighting against that guy over and over, don't you get sick of it? Yes, yes I do, so I turn off Dead by Wesker lol.

...actually l usually escape against em so Live by Wesker tbh.

I'll take all the Wesker in exchange for SM and Knight. Heck, give me all the Nurses, Blights, and Weskers instead.

  • Okay? Buy a cake and celebrate it?

The number of times I've had toxic killers do the same, even go to the lengths of adding u on steam just to BM... Just now a match against a killer with 8K BM-ing, mind you I have betwen 2-3k hours...

So they tea bagged you, oh no. Play GF and do it back if it bothers you that much.

I like the way you think that sounds like all kinds of nasty. 👍️

    GLHF ^^

  • This is a ping issue. The other day I went against a Freddy whom I stunned, but he STILL got a hit on me despite me stunning him and being literally 2 metres away from the pallet. It's sometimes the most BS hits ever.

But the issue seems to be with the servers. Usually, I have between 20-30 ping, since the last update every lobby I'm in, regardless of the time of the day, I get a red bar/my teammates get a red bar, rubberbanding is back and bs hits apparently.

  • Yes, I keep seeing Thrill, Devour, Penti, and Plaything more and more often.

    @pseudechis said:

Devour Hope is one of my favorite perks, I typically get a lot of traction out of it before its discovered and cleansed. Not always but often enough that I run it a lot. Especially on killers with no insta down ability.

Its a regular on my Trapper loadout.

Have you tried pairing it up with Thrill and Face the Darkness, and trapping the totems as well? It's almost impossible to cleanse them. It's very evil 😈

  • I personally find the interaction with the killer the most fun aspect of the game as a survivor. But when that interaction turns into them staring you into your second hook stage after you've looped them or god forbid stunned/blinded them, then there isn't much fun left to be had. But it is what it is :)

I don't care about the 4k enough to slug someone to deny hatch or something as I look for their teammate, but if I already won the chase and someone decides to just chillax in a hook deadzone... I'll watch em bleed.

As far as being able to down them in mere seconds once they wiggle off, that's enough time to run BACK to the corner. I've been stuck in that situation before where in the time after the stun duration, the survivor just ran to the same corner like 5 times. Unless I'm playing something like Huntress or Nurse, there's no escaping the corner.

I give them 1 chance, though if they love to hog a corner then yes, for sure. Especially if it's someone with Boil Over, they can have their corner, I'll just tap out and go get some water lol.

  • Legion, Deathslinger, Bubsy, and some other killers' add-ons can do that as well.

  • There's this mechanic called picking them up. Just do that. Who cares if they wiggle off? You can down them within mere seconds if u like.

Unless I'm doing archives IDGAF about getting 4Ks, they can have hatch/door/my neighbours car keys, who cares, go. It lets us both move on to the next game :)

I myself do crawl away, the amount of times I've found hatch that way has been insane

    Untitled Image

Unless it closes then obviously I'll crawl to the killer and call it a day lol.

Imagine being so selfish that you bring an escape cake in the midst of an event. Why wouldn’t I tunnel you out for that?

Who even said I brought that? Are you unable to read as well? Or do you just love making up hypothetical nonsense? We get it, you're petty and childish now move on and stop spamming with posts that have nothing to do with the actual topic.

Haha yep. I’ve camped and tunneling out every single survivor that’s done that. They usually don’t end with more than 2-3k points.

Edit - even funnier, a lot of the times the other survivors will come nod at them on hook and let them die for not bringing a cake.

Unfortunately as a Switch player, I can't even SEE endgame chat, and my name is very limited on how long it can be. I generally don't use Tombstone piece, so they tend to build up and collect dust...

Imagine being this petty and childish. So what if the killer brings a Mori or a map all survivors should DC, because it's not a cake? How sad can players be.

  • Ghostface, there isn't a single thing I don't love about him, his design and power. Though I wish those pesky survivors couldn't reveal him as easily sometimes.

What are you going to teach me with this, bhvr? How to run web? I have 2000 hours in the game and 300+ prestige, are you sure I need this? What is the point of this? Make another condition, or better to remove this rule completely and allow us to have auto bloodweb on 1st prestige, because I'm sure that anyone with more than 100 hours understands perfectly well what to do with web.

This and also a feature to just prestige you until your BP runs out. As much as I love and appreciate the Bloodweb changes, it still takes SO MUCH time to prestige a character. Like why do I need to see an animation of level 34 going to 35, just get to it. Better yet, just go from level 5 to 50 with one click, instead of having to click on the auto-bloodweb, watch all the branches fill out, watch the animation, and then do that 50 more times... 😅

I already do this to ensure people who put map offering in don't get hatch 😈

    Lmao Evil By Daylight.

I only play less nicely when it's a map that I hate which is Shelter Woods and Red Forest. I hate Red Forest with such a passion, I play but a mere Ghostface, he has just two legs and nothing more 😭 and even as Nemesis, my poor zombies confuse trees and walls for survivors. But otherwise, I don't mind map offerings at all.

  • As killer: spawn in with Lethal Persuer and watch survivors being goofy with one another. Playing as Ghostface and just meme around + Mori as GF.

As survivor: not a a lot atm ngl

  • They respond like that because they probably are the type of player I was mentioning in my OP.

    It’s a joke.

You can’t see which Survivor brought what Offering as Killer. (Unless that changed or the Offerings are ordered specifically in relation to Survivor UI icon placement)

Though through process of elimination as a SWF you can figure it out as a 3-man.

Otz said something along the lines of the page that shows your ping and others' also correlates with the offerings' placement.

  • Lmao the chat censor sometimes makes zero sense. It reminds me of the time when saying "ggwp" would get censored 😅 but "gg wp" not, that 1 space between 2 letters made all the difference..💀

I honestly cannot remember so I apologize! But I think I read here in the forums once that you should be able to report anyone. Anonymity just hides their name and info.

I think it might have been someone using exploits in that trial, because every other match I've had since with anonymous players, it always shows the report button. But ty anyways, have a good one ^^

  • @HugTechLover said:

Did you bring an offering other than terromisu? Lol

Nope, I'd brought Terrormisu 😔 Regardless, it doesn't give them any special rights to farm/grieve other players.

Funnily enough, the match I had after those 2 the same thing happened: 2 teammates hard sandbagging, but the killer (a Knight gamer surprisingly) saw it and put an end to it eventually. So fun getting non-stop unhooked on second stage, thank god I can tap out and watch Netflix, IDK how XBOX/PS5 gamers deal with that annoyance 😅
