My Italian isn't very good, so I've included an English version for clarity.
English: It's not possible to copy data from PC to PS4.
Italian: Non è possibile copiare i tuoi dati alla console.

I really believe you should be a mod or even the new community manager. You defend these guys more than anyone else. Please understand I am not insulting you. I actually believe you are more of a voice on the forum for BHVR than not_community manager is.
I'm a voice of reason. Saying that the amount of time it takes to find and fix a bug is directly proportional to the severity of the bug, as that person just did, is ridiculous and shows a complete lack of understanding of how anything works from a developer PoV. At the same time, in this thread, I also agreed with someone who said the devs should've had backup systems in place for this situation. This is no different than what mods and community managers say and do.
Cue trolls mocking my "voice of reason" statement.

Any company with respect for their own reputation, their game and customers would definitely have worked this out by now. This is just an insult to anyone who payed money for something that they now have no way of using - basically they took their game back, but kept your money

What's this? Constructive criticism without insults? I must be high.

I see the results compare it to my own experience with programming, and it doesn't make the devs look better or worse.Yeah. New patch is out. Oops, we have accidentally entered "0" instead of "10" for tinkerer 2. But let's release a "hot"fix after 2 weeks. I mean, this is either some very ######### spaghetti code or a complete indifference. And you can't say they were "thoroughly testing" it either, because they obviously do no such thing.
Yes, that's a common mistake and easy to overlook when double-checking your code. It's no different from a typo.
No, they probably didn't test every single combination of every single perk, because that'd make updates impossibly long. I've never seen a company push out a single patch that didn't have a single bug, ever, but maybe I'm wrong, maybe the people complaining about patches having bugs (which is normal if you've ever done any programming) are perfect programmers whose code never needs any debugging.
-
Official news or info is that they're aware of the problem and are investigating the issue. If you want to play a game that NEVER gets patched, regardless of its glaring issues, go back to playing SNES or something.

Because an issue doesn't get solved in 12 hours or any other arbitrary timeline you draw up. It'll be fixed when it's fixed. There are indie studios way smaller than BHVR who deal with this problems in a few hours.
That something like this REGULARLY happens during events is just a joke.Do you have any idea the sheer number of things that can cause any one issue? Sometimes an issue is easy to solve, sometimes it's not.
That's why you always have a backup or recovery plan. As far as I know, they use AWS and there are VERY easy tools to set up a robust, fault-tolerant and self-recovering infrastructure, even I can do (did) it! So no offence but this should not happen, and the studio is not THAT small....
Definitely, the lack of backups is an issue. However, nobody's complaining about that, as far as I know, they're just complaining that the issue wasn't fixed in whatever arbitrary time frame they imagine the issue should've been fixed by.
I agree, the issue is fixed when it is fixed, nothing we can do about. But the duration is definitely (too) long
Well, you have to keep in mind that a work day is a thing, and the devs don't instantly hear about issues. Right now it's almost 10 AM where they live.

Thank you!So your point is that the devs should emulate an unsuccessful game?
-
@BoxingRouge said:
Well I mean they can’t seem to think that dedicated servers is the best route to go but it’s clearly too much for them... If F13 can get dedicated servers so can DBD.You might want to give an example of a successful game, if that's the fallacy you want to use.
-
I wouldn't put it past them.

If it's stable, 150. If not, 100.

Isn't it because Sony takes a larger chunk of the money than Steam? Still, that's gotta suck for console players.

It's all over the forums. LOL The thousands of hours of streamer play that makes it onto Twitch often tells a different story, however. Most streamers are not even rank 1. Out of the Top 20 twitch streamers u will prolly find a few rank 1 streamers.
Maybe you should check smaller streams.
-
Survivors will never, ever reward you for playing how they want, because what they want is for you to play in the least efficient way possible so they have an even bigger safety net with which to troll you.

@Tsulan said:
Yeah, but those customers then vent on social media and ignoring them can lose the company a lot of money. Not saying "ignore them". I'm saying instead of putting in extra hours or shifts for the ungrateful SOBs, you put in a normal work day, and if you can't figure out the problem when the day's done, go home and try again tomorrow.
-
I've no idea which stream it was on. Maybe someone else can provide a link, though.
-
Nope. There's no way to kick out Survivors. My advice, kill them all in the most efficient way possible, and stop caring about their made-up rules (camping, tunneling, etc.).
-
@Tsulan said:
You made me chuckle. If it's a problem that has been caused by the customer, you're right. Let them wait.
But if it's a problem caused by the company, that's a different story.Honestly, knowing what customers are like, I wouldn't care either way. Very rarely do I meet customers who deserve any amount of respect.

You just gotta look. We r talking about rank1's here. The devs have published actual statistics, you know, available for all to see, so we don't have to rely on anecdotes like that.

Why is NOED considered "rewarding failure"? Game is not finished until you see the point screen.
I mean there are perks specifically for the endgame like Remember Me and Blood Warden.Because otherwise Survivors would have to admit that NOED even triggering is their fault, and that late-game builds don't exist.
Oh damn, you are right.
Indeed. When I pointed out that all of the Nightmare's perks are late-game in another thread, all I got in response was a dodge, claiming that he's "more effective" with such and such build, despite the fact that I was only referring to his perks and not his gameplay (since perks are teachable and all, referring to so and so character's perks is literally just referring to the perks).
You're leaving out some critical stuff again like the fact you said one thing then said you meant something different. Then later on you changed your story again and said that what you said wasn't what you meant and you never said it. This despite you claiming 2 different things earlier.
I never said "The Nightmare", and always only specifically mentioned his perks ("The Nightmare's perks"). Some people just forgot that perks are teachable.

Blocking the killer basement isn’t necessary. It’s called taking the game hostage especially when they just stand there and refuse to hit anyone to let them pass.Taking the game hostage occurs only when you don't hit anyone and just block the basement indefinitely. Blocking the basement is just blocking the basement.

Rewarding failure in the premise of not protecting and stopping Gen progress. “Who cares if they do the Gens? I’ve got NOED!” Just like DS “Who cares if I get found and caught, I’ve got DS!”Its the same premise that Survivors use to justify DS. “It’s the Killers fault for catching me. Should have chased someone else.” When we all know that’s a load of bullshit.
”LULZ should have broke the totems!” = “LULZ should have chased someone else!”
Late-game builds are exactly about letting the Survivors get closer to escaping while you become more powerful. That's not failure; that's strategy.
As for breaking the totems being equal to the Survivors' "idea" on how to counter DS, that's bullshit. Breaking totems guarantees NOED will not trigger, thus giving your team the upper hand. Chasing someone else will give the Survivors the advantage. Like all Survivor "ideas" on how to counter something, it's always bad for the Killer.

According to my system... Out of 75 games I only lost 3. At the current state of the game as a solo q'er at end game. Getting ne thing near or above 1pip = Killer did poorly. My Killer Rank1 friend said that out of 64 games today... only 1 game (prolly swf) got all 4 escapes, 2 games had 2 ppl escape, and 3 games where 1 got away from hatch. That means he 4Killed 58 games out of 64. All of this just from the start of the BBQ event.
Now if the game was balanced that would mean on average 2 ppl would escape per game. So out of 64 games 128 ppl should escape. According to my friends statistics out of 64 games only 11 ppl escaped. I'm not sure if this is how the game works cause I just started a month ago but atm at high ranks for solo q survivors it seems like a killer sided game which is why my system from above post works out for me and I keep my Rank 1.
What do u guys think? What have u noticed at end game?
Please don't post up videos of very rare events where the killer lets the survivors do all the gens in 4 mins or of a killer who doesn't know how to play getting out skilled by survivors.
I wanna hear from ppl who know how to play the game (solo q'ers pref) and have current Rank 1 status (both killers/survivors).

Just asking. No idea. I'm not Canadian. Like I said, I'm just speculating. Were I a part of the dev team, though, given the bullshit and vitriol they have to withstand from a thankless community such as this, I wouldn't put in a night shift or extra hours when I could go back home to my BF.

"More or less". They probably didn't have enough time to figure out what the problem was before their work day was over. At least that's my guess, I can't know for sure.

Devs were to incompetent to realize that once their game becomes f2p on PS, there might be more stress for the servers. So they didnt prepare for that..... better get used to that if you plan playing DBDAh, so you've diagnosed the problem already, without even having access to anything on the devs' side? You must be quite the programmer.
Devs give us no information so we can only speculate.
Do you have any other reasonable speculations?I don't have enough information to speculate, and neither do you. Nevertheless, to present your baseless speculation as fact is what's wrong with people like you.

This is beyong ridiculous if we were talking about another company.
For BHVR its normal buisness tbhOh, bullshit. You and I both know that many companies - massive companies, even - don't give a rat's ass about problems like this, which can take several days, if not more, to fix - if they get fixed at all. I have games on my Steam library that, to this day, are prone to crashing for no goddamned reason, and those devs have no intention of fixing them.
