Which likely wouldnt be so bad if the community didnt ######### on someone every time they mentioned wanting a FNAF chapter. They feel like they have to go out of their way to prove their logic to show how it could be, since the majority of the community still hates on FNAF but accepts stranger things as legit horror.
How many people acted the same way for pyramid head? "Dude look, the 4 looks like his head!" And people thought it was a ######### joke.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe anyone over the age of 10 genuinely believes that the best way to engage with someone who thinks you're annoying and is angry that you're annoying them is by doing the things that annoy them in the first place.
Even if the bulk of that fandom was comprised of teens when the first game launched, that was 7 years ago. Now they should be in their early 20s, meaning they're adults. Young adults, but adults nonetheless.
Note that no other franchise - whether people want it or not - gets this much thread spam and denial over it, and people don't get angry about those. That's not a coincidence.

That is just what the number 4 looks like, though. It may have been Pyramid Head after all, but I stand by that assertion (which is very easy to verify as fact, literally look at the number).

When you choose to play survivor, you have to understand and really internalize one thing: you are the victim. What does that mean? It means that you are at the killer's mercy. It also means that you are going to lose most chases. This is by design. Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical game. If survivors could easily win chases, killers wouldn't stand a chance. Your goal is just to last long enough that your teammates can progress their side enough that it compensates for having to unhook and heal you.
Right now, in particular, the devs are testing a new matchmaking system. Since you're new, the game doesn't know where to place you, which means you're going to see trials like that until it gets a better sense of where you should be.
For me, I just played to my strengths, which in this case means stealth. I don't get chased because I'm not seen. I'm the guy unhooking, healing, cleansing totems, and so on, while everyone else is losing chases. If I am chased, however, looping is extremely simple: keep an eye on where the killer is, know and understand your surroundings, and you'll do fine in most situations.

Most Killer creations are about flavour text, look and feel. not about game design.
This is also what most Killer creation posts get likes from.
You sorta see the same old movie licences get recycled from someone new trying to give them a spin and then the same types of Killer ideas.
This. Why would people take the time to create something better if it nobody wants it?

I'm not saying there's no context, there's just no excuse. There's only one person responsible for anyone's play style and that's themselves.
If this were a situation with more weight to it or something more critical, I might be more understanding. But since it's a game that can be shut off and set aside at any moment, there's no reason not to take a chill pill and go into matches with a clear head.

You're purposefully ignoring the influence other people can have on your decisions - and yes, other people can and do influence your decisions, even if some people deny it.

Negative interactions are negative interactions, no matter the form they take. I doubt you'd like it if you were subject to nonstop abuse when you were trying to do something nice for a group. How long would it take until you decided enough was enough?

You can empathize, but it's still a bad argument imo. It's shifting personal accountability off onto people that are totally unrelated.
If someone wants to play aggressively and have no mercy, it's because they want to. Simple as that.

I think it's just the inevitable result of their experience. You can't expect someone to put up with nonstop abuse when they're trying to be nice.

@Apollos made a great point just before. By your logic (if it can even be considered 'logic', it's more just an opinion), Survivors either follow this rubric system of being painful, uncaring ######### or Killers should be that way to Survivors because of a supposed 'general experience' that has accumulated through what I am assuming is limited playtime and YouTube channels like Spook n Jukes?
Don't get me wrong, I love Spooks, but even he is an advocate for fair play and treatment even in spite of the fact that he gets insulted by toxic Survivors nearly every game he plays on Twitch...
No idea who that is, but if you're just going to dismiss my (and most people's) experience out of hand, then I think we're done here.
-
@Apollos said:

Does it really apply if you go against a different group of people every time and you don't get any insults until after the match is over? That's kind of like spitting in someone's coffee at Starbucks because the lady the day before was a real catch you next Tuesday.
Most vocal survivors are toxic, and most of the times a killer tries to be nice, there's an ######### (usually with other survivors either actively or passively supporting the #########). I don't blame killers for not wanting to take that chance.
-

I don't think people should be doorknobs either. But maybe you want to be one?
I'm a survivor main. Killers being doormats would benefit me. However, knowing what most vocal survivors are like, I don't blame killers for not being nice to survivors, given the usual experience they have as a result.

Bit of a poor excuse to be a dead-hard, unaccommodating obstacle for Survivors though, isn't it? You can't just give hatch every once and a while?
But hey, who am I to judge? It's your playstyle.
Do you know what a person is called when they're constantly nice to people who insult, degrade, and denigrate them? A doormat. I don't think people should be doormats.

To be fair, something can be iconic within a year or 2. Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees were pretty much iconic after their first appearance.
Pretty sure if DBD was made back then, Myers and Voorhees would be top of the list quite quickly, even though other iconic killers like Frankensteins Monster and Count Dracula werent even added.
I'd say The Nun is an iconic horror movie killer, purely because the way she originally appeared in the movies, it's really a shame they spend 95% of the movie just going for jumpscares.
Amnesia and FNaF would also fit those "instant classics" definition of iconic. They were fairly original concepts that massively broadened what we would define as a horror. Just like Myers, Jason, Freddy, Amanda, Ghostface, Nemesis and PH expanded on what was possible. I'd say influence is by far the one and only factor that makes something iconic. Age just gives it more time to amass a greater influence.
Have you noticed how the vast majority of these so-called "instant classics" are quickly forgotten? They have their 15 minutes of fame and then die off. Sure, even a broken clock is right twice a day, but you can't call something a classic until enough time has passed. That's the real mark of a classic: that it survives the test of time.

Sorry, but your polls are just heavily flawed, even ignoring the small sample size.
There is no real "I don't want it" option barring the last one, which is so over-the-top, I'd wager most people would rather vote for the penultimate option (which is just "I don't like it, but am indifferent to it") instead. In other words, there's no real way to disagree except by being utterly ridiculous in your statement.
It reminds me of those polls where you can either say you like/agree with someone/something, or you can say you're a traitor or whatever.

Yeah, but candyman himself never appeared in the teasers. Here, we have Springtrap in multiple images, in official promotion material for a company that does not own a license for FNaF. That's not exactly legal to do unless with permission.
Unless they do. And it would be kinda weird for the devs to just obtain a license to use a character in promotional materials(it would just cost money with little to no benefit)
I'm not saying chapter 21 isnt hellraiser, just that chapter 22 or 23 might be fnaf.
No character was shown in any of the images. That's called "pareidolia".

Which is English on a different language post of the teaser.
No, because the devs work in English, just like the vast majority of international game developers.
-
Doesn't have to be Dead Hard, according to a friend of mine. He said survivors were able to just walk normally onto those things.
-
No, most Candyman fans realized it wasn't Candyman early on. The other fandom, however, is denying that a file literally titled "Hellraiser chapter" (and some other stuff) is conclusive evidence that the new chapter is Hellraiser.

For ######### sake I came here to say how to make Springtrap a great killer in Dead By Daylight when he will come to the game to to argue about if it's him for Chapter 21 or not. First read the whole post I made then say anything
You were wondering why people would be angry at this thread, I just explained why.

Nope cause I don't care what killer it will be as long as he have good perks and is nice to play
Then just acknowledge that it's Hellraiser, like everyone already knows. I'd wager half the reason why people are so angry with your fandom is because you outright refuse to acknowledge what everyone - yourselves included - already knows; namely, that the next chapter is Hellraiser. The other half is the nonstop threads.

Probably many because "Fnaf is for kids" and "Springtrap is not an icon of horror like Mayers or Freddy". Yet he DO is an icon of horror yet not for Slashers but horrors based on Jumpscares. A different type of horrors that are more used in video games than movies

Iconic killers, by definition, are not "modern". Age+Influence is the bare minimum for something to be "iconic".
-
The next chapter is Hellraiser. This is not a matter of opinion, it is an objective fact that everyone knows, even if some refuse to recognize it.
People aren't upset at fans of that other franchise for wanting it in DbD, they're angry because of the nonstop thread spam and blatant denialism. They're angry because when they say they don't want said franchise in DbD, its fans become hostile and accuse the people who don't want the franchise of "putting them down" or whatever.

1987 in fnaf is a massive deal. They could of just had that scene alone without the date.
But anywho.
1987 is a big deal in a lot of works. It also happens to be the year in which the first Hellraiser film was released, a scene of which is literally playing on the TV.

Hellraiser is the original "pain is pleasure" franchise. It features Cenobites (basically demons from Hell, or close to it) who torture themselves, each other, and other people for kicks.
EDIT: Right, there's also this puzzle box that, if you solve it, opens a portal to their dimension (again, Hell, or something like it). That's how they come to our world and torture/kill people.

Now explain me, how do you calculate skill? How do you put skill into a single number? What is the equation? I know MMR goes up when you win and down when you lose, but what is considered a "win" and "lose" for survivors by this system? You are so sure of it you must know, so care to tell?
You are so sure of it you must know
Those concepts are not related at all. I can understand the general concept of an MMR without knowing the specifics of the highly complex (and likely proprietary) algorithm that goes into making the calculations.
I can expand on what I'd consider fair bets of how it works, but they'd be my guesses based on how I would do it, and would just be general statements, with no actual math involved.

Seriously man, the current teasers spell the exact name of the Hellraiser franchise, the year it was realeased, a pin that doesn't appear in game, a gambler caged... And naybe more.
For Springtrap, they would at max spell a catch phrase, and a date that appears at some point in the game.
Springtrap can't be straight up ruled out, but at this point, it is just like they would tease a movie called "Pink", but people would still believe it is a Barbie Doll Killer because she wears pink too.
Springtrap can't be straight up ruled out
Yes he can.
This reminds me of a meme I saw with two characters putting together a puzzle that had been improperly stored, so the puzzle box didn't show the right image. As the pieces fell into place, it was clear that the puzzle hadn't been stored in the proper box, but one kept insisting that until they had all the pieces (of which they were missing about 2 or 3), the other couldn't say for sure it wasn't a duck and insisted that it was indeed a duck.
There is no room for reasonable doubt at this point. You either acknowledge that it's Hellraiser, or you don't. Emphasis on "acknowledge". Nobody genuinely believes it could be anything but Hellraiser.

Hopefully not before they add Candyman, a far superior character, IMO.
