I don't want Eleven or Joyce tbh. Or any of "the party" Eddie should be a legendary. I would like Robin and Hopper. Billy could also be a legendary

So, truthfully, I was mid-edit when my hand accidentally hit the Enter key on my numpad and embarrassingly, what was sent was not a finished thought or one that reflected what I intended to say AT ALL and my mid-edit title, unfortunately, resulted in a rather mean-spirited title called "What's Wrong With Dead By Daylight?"
Which is, again, NOT AT ALL what I meant to say! Oh my gosh!
I was indeed intending on making a post to discuss and express my dissatisfaction in the fact that 2 chapters got delayed, one of the most important licensed chapters in DBD history was delayed from Q4 to Q1 (which I cannot imagine Netflix is happy about and it might risk future Stranger Things/Netflix content in the game), one chapter is potentially cancelled, all under the promise of a health update and bug fixes, when the update delivered nothing (not even the Elusive status effect, which I thought was liked universally?), and MORE bugs have been introduced than fixed in an update that delivered almost nothing but bug fixes!
But I did not intend to have it be so mean spirited in title! (Or have a completely empty body!)
I'm rather embarrassed at how this ended up, though, as this discussion got off on a foot that was never meant to be put down in the first place and would rather delete the thread entirely, if I could.
Ah no worries, happens to everyone here
-
Hmm… nothing, really, and that may be the issue for some people.
Anti-tunnelling and slugging seems to have been scrapped after several months of testing, discussion and anticipation.
The current rift is disappointing and goes on until late january.
Pallet density received another update however it remains controversial as they reduced the strength of a lot of loops quite heavily.
The november chapter was delayed and this patch didnt introduce much, mainly bug fixes but it also came with a lot of bugs making it not feel as bug fix focused as it should imo.
So… yeah not much exciting going on with dbd. Imo sinister grace and twd was quite a flop. Krasue one of the most unbalanced and boring killers introduced sadly. Twd some of the lowest quality content dbd has ever put out. So that leaves FNAF to be what was imo the last exciting addition to the game, but even then, it didnt really meet expectations in terms of quantity.
I am looking forward to the january update though because it will introduce a new rift and stranger things part 2. I really enjoyed what is out of season 5 so far, so im pretty excited. -
I'm just disappointed they removed the hiding scratch marks from it. I thought that was a fitting feature that compensated its duration nerf well.
-
- No because i dont often get hit 10-15s after a unhook
- Not worthless because everyone plays differently of course

yeah 47 minutes is a lot. Beginner video should be around 10 mins imo

for 15 seconds after being unhooked? i understand your argument for when it was 30s along with the 10% haste in the ptb but for live games, i believe 15s of elusive is more than fair to introduce within the game.
I mean 15s was never tested but it's still a straight buff to survivors
-
@AmpersandUnderscore said:
So, it was extremely difficult to parse through the complaining to get anything that even remotely resembled "constructive" criticism, but there were two intertwined issues with elusive that are solvable:
Elusive survivors had no collision, but BHVR didn't listen to feedback that they also would have to be unable to be targeted by attacks also. You could, for example, clip physically into your unhooker and tank the hit with the endurance portion, even if the killer was intending to not target you off hook.
The solution to this would be to make the survivor off hook not be targeted by attacks, which solves this issue and creates a potential problem.
If the elusive survivor can't be interacted with or injured, then they can just wait at a pallet or lurk with a flashlight completely invulnerable and the killer can do nothing about it. So, in addition to being unattackable and having no collision, we would need to restrict certain actions, but not everything.
For example, things like flashlights, flashbangs, pallet drops would have to be prohibited, but conspicuous actions like medkits, or working on a gen would still have to be options for the survivor to "opt out" and allow them to participate in the match again fully.
But I can understand how this wasn't clear, since people screaming "abuse" from 12 different alt accounts at once doesn't really effectively communicate these details.
Survivors had collision when unhooked on recent PTB, this issue was separate from Elusive. They didnt have collision on the previous PTB, which did cause issues but they just reverted it for the next ptb.

I think it was a bad idea. It was gutting the perks identity to fill the role that resurgence does. Im fine with the game a lot of niche perks, but not when they make it so 2 perks basically do the same thing.
-
-
I think the problem is finding a sufficient compensation for killers. Unique hook rewards weren't really working and it was just getting too complex. Elusive could also be used for stuff like flashlight saves and pallet stuns.
-
Probably. Art The Clown owners are eager to license him into games. DBD should want him, he's a relevant modern horror icon, and he seems fairly simple to adapt into a killer. The DBD formula presents a lot of opportunities to represent this character in an authentic way, which would be great for both parties. For example (mild spoilers ahead for the 1st film) at the end of Terrifier 1 he shoots his victim out of frustration. It's an unexpected turn of events and it really highlights the cold, blunt brutality of using a fire arm. So, it would be super interesting to have this as his mori, as dbd is setup in a very similar way that would make the use of a real gun stand out and be shocking.

-
Trickster because All-Kill is what got in me interested into the game. Didn't main for him too long though because i had a lack of success with him compared to other killers.
-
Because theoretically. You can now get undetectable with beast of prey off a unique hook, and removal of haste is so it doesn't stack
-
I think it's an interesting idea but it's difficult because the nature of the game is that both sides become weaker the more the other has progressed their objective. So the benefits would either be kinda useless or limited to a point where it's not interesting.
Maybe they could make something like it work as an edition of chaos shuffle potentially -
Very disappointing to see people are offering no explanations here
-
I think people will be disappointed with it because the new anti-features require the survivors to play effectively. Since PTB has no matchmaking and killers will try to tunnel, a lot of people are gonna get tunnelled.
I think for the more invested players it depends on what the perk and medkit add-on changes are. I think if the nerfs are not sufficient enough it will probably feel like a survivor buff overall. If they are signficant it may result in a much healthier game, but i still think in that case overtime survivors will drop anti-tunnel perks from their build and have a lot more to work with which will eventually make the game feel a lot harder for killer i think. Because sadly it would appear survivors maybe losing the need to run anti-tunnel perks but killers are definitely not gonna be moving away from gen slowdown perks, they will need them more than ever. I don't really see this being addressed, i agree with the removal of basekit pop but i don't feel like there is really a better replacement. Basekit pain res maybe but this would still favour killers that are good at getting downs early into the game.
I imagine they will adjust the anti-tunnelling numbers from ptb to live, maybe doing things like stronger haste for a shorter duration. -
Teal imo.

Krasue got overnerfed. She’s not worth playing anymore.
Yeah i kinda agree. She's oppressive at pallet loops but she no longer has any strategical potential with her leech being removed on hook, you can't ever really make them run out. She's also pretty mediocre on indoor maps.
Overall i don't really see the reason to play her, there are far more appealing options when it comes to chase killers with mobility… like Ghoul -
With the haste and endurance you could go inside the survivor, making protecting the unhooker even easier.
https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/1n89tcp/you_can_no_longer_punish_survivors_for_making/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Sadly the solution made the problem worse so reverting it is all they could do. -
@AhoyWolf said:
All she is getting is a revert to some of her nerfs, making the beam faster pretty much just band-aids her having one less beam, she didn't use to have the fast vault immunity, and during that time she was still bad with it…
She shouldn't have a cooldown on placing a drone at all really, you could remove it and tie the undetectable to some other specific action, like recalling a drone or when a Survivor disables a drone, so now you wouldn't have to awkwardly change both the cooldown and the undetectable at the same time.
We were hyped for a rework just for it to get post-poned / scrapped again? These buffs won't do anything, she will still be bad, not fun to play against, not fun to play as because she is weak.
I don't get it, waiting a year just for this it's pathetic.
If you don't already find Skull Merchant fun to play as then these changes are not for you - that's the point. They decided that a rework is probably not worthwhile because it has the risk of disappointing current SM players whilst not guaranteed to appease people that don't already like her (a large majority) who can continue to not play her.
She's much more manageable to deal with as a survivor right now so throwing her players a bone is reasonable. -
I don't think it will be necessary with the addition of anti-camp bar on the hud (as well as the changes to anti-camp) along with the activity hud thats enough info to make an informed decision on unhooking or not.
I strongly disagree that it's negligible benefits. Seeing real time locations of teammates as well as the killer is very strong, swf on comms doesn't exactly nullify or replace these benefits. It should stay as a perk. -
Yeah but BHVR censored the huntress boulet brothers outfit so we probably won't ever get something like this. They are super sensitive about everything.
-
I am so bored of hearing about this killer to be honest

Hey devs, i have a question in regards to this statement:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbdH2VRC3EM
Can you explain to me how you not only describe handholding and all of the examples you give are only examples on the killer side. But can you also explain how:
- Basekit BBQ
- Basekit Pop
is handholding, but:
- 10% haste
- Endurance
- Elusive
- No Sound
- See the killer's Aura
- 10% haste in endgame
- Endurance in endgame
- Survivors can pick themselves up if slugged too long
- Anti face camp
- Seeing the resolve bar on teammates
- Pallet changes that massively increase the number of pallets on maps that didn't need it while not acctually adressing the thing said changes claimed to be trying to fix.
- Etc.
Are NOT handholding?
It was hand holding in the sense that the game was telling you what to do, not do it for you.
The unhook protections give an opportunity to evade a tunnel but it still requires survivors to make the correct decisions. Unhook at the right time, use the aura and stealth to avoid killers line of sight.
I don't know why people are focusing so much on this particular comment. -
I open the gates before i move away from the door at all. Don't wanna risk a closed door causing a chased survivor to not be able to leave.
-
I agree with making flower and memo basekit, it just feels like these things were taken out just to make add-ons. Memorial flower being an add-on makes it a must have for scratched mirror, it would be nice if we could explore other combos.
Also, his rare add-ons have too much downsides. -20% stalk speed decrease, -16 stalk range, all too much for not great effects. -
Because they did not even survey this. It was a hot topic when that happened. All the reasons for uninstalling were only applicable to survivor gameplay.
https://youtu.be/TQR0dPrU3Ac?si=HL7BkongqlfmvxQ1 -
I disagree, the map feels particularly miserable and colour pallet/lighting change is very welcome
-
Ive been trying to explain this since that ptb but basekit pop does not suit most killers and only really suits the strongest killers like Blight and Ghoul. Maybe basekit pain res could work but the idea seems a bit divisive.
Also the point of the unhook protections is reducing how much of a nuclear option tunnelling is anyway, killers cant feel forced to tunnel if they cannot even find the unhooked survivor, they'll be forced to pressure whoever they find. This is how the game sometimes plays out on live anyway.
So i think overall these changes leave the game a bit more open ended whilst reducing reliance on anti-tunnel perks -
Yeah i just watched the VOD and i thought the stream was really good. I've been feeling quite negative about the game since July and that it's felt like the devs haven't been listening but streams like this remind me that they do. They addressed a ton of stuff about the anti-systems and it was generally an enjoyable watch.
-
Scrapped hopefully. It doesn't work when so many perks are designed to work on unhook, and obscuring parts of the screen is just very ugly.
-
This is too troll like and dbd is rage inducing enough as is
-
Springtrap
Has the map mobility and chase power to afford going for non tunnelling/slugging playstyles but survivors still have a chance to dodge his attacks and anticipate his approach -
Not showing up for me in game either. Very frustrating.
-
Extremely one sided post
-
Turn limit and sensitivity i think are different. At the moment he has like a 180 limit which should probably stay.

she has auto aim so it’s not hard to infect survivors and she moves at 4.8m/s in head mode and has a long dash attack, you can pretty much get hit on every tile in the game besides dropped shack with her power if you use headlong rush on loops, it’s not that crazy.
i mean difficulty of the projectile is irrelevant to my point, its a time delay no matter what that other killers dont have
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
She literally moves at 120% movement speed in head form permanently on top of having a chase power (dash and vaulting) and mobility (Headlong Flight) and the widest FOV of any Killer.
She has every built-in advantage they could possibly give her, I don’t understand this post at all
she cant break pallets and you need to infect survivors before hitting them in head form. They've made the pallet vault really slow.
-
This really needs to be addressed, saying they would do something and then not do it is bad.
At the very least they have been using the kill switch better, with mindbreaker being kill switched less than 24hrs after it became bugged. -
Its not out yet ig, weird.
-
Pallets in DBD are like weeds in Animal Crossing. The longer you take a break, the more will appear. Welcome back!

They said they were going to come back and provide the community with an outline of what their guidelines are for when a killswitch is warranted right? Did they ever circle back around on that? I don't recall seeing anything.
They have not. Ive been wanting to make a post on it but i lack the motivation. They said it would be within a few weeks yet here we are.
They also said after the community contest winners were announced they would say within a few weeks how they were going to adjust the concepts for the game… yet nothing from that.
Community team seems to have picked up a habit of promising things and not getting around to them. -
It will return next blood moon event
-
Devs balance around the majority of players, which they will know from their data.
It can be whatever you want really, there is enough player agency to make it competitive but there's nothing stopping you from using meme builds. -
They did change the void, the well is no longer on a huge elevation, and it seems a bit smaller, i think it plays better like that.
-
No it's not wrong. The game being in a bad state doesn't necessarily equate to the whole game being unfun, usually just recent developments being disliked.

Making Trickster the lead character feels like they're hoping the whales jump on-board. They might, but I don't know that that will save anything. I ranted in another thread about it, but the quality alone is lesser so the pricing feels like the final nail in the coffin. Unless they really wow us next year, the Rift is just not worth it.
Idk about that, who really plays trickster. Plus the survivor picks are also really unpopular characters minus claudette i guess.
