I tried to do that, but it doesn't help, it still stutters in game. The stuttering happens always when some sort of action happens.
What storage device do you have DBD installed on? I know this can be an issue with HDDs. Also, have you tried verifying the integrity of the game files via steam?
-
Since 7.7.0 a lot older pcs have had major performance issues for two reasons. 1. The game has been updated to Unreal Engine 5. 2. The game now uses DirectX 12 by default instead of DirectX 11.
It might help to put -dx11 in your steam advanced launch options. This makes the game use DirectX 11 again instead of DirectX 12. This helped me, performance went back to normal-ish.
Aside from that there could be many other causes. From the top of my head lack of RAM could be one. -
The entity realm
-
I was always gonna get this chapter. As a dedicated player, for now anyways, i want all characters and all perks.
But as for how i feel about this chapter. I think it's really good. The improvements they made to vecna definitely address a lot of the feedback i've been seeing and agreed with myself. Vecna is a really cool design. Very versatile, very useful, and with the improvements i think he will be very smooth to play.
I think the survivor is cool too. I like that they are two in one, that's a lot of value since all survivors are just skins anyways. I'm excited to use Still sight.
I honestly think it might be one of the best chapters they've ever done. Seems very high quality all around. -
Dwight and Chucky
-
Definitely. That seems worth it.
Especially because kicking gens at base is actually pretty good now. -
I think the perk will not be that good in practicality.
On it's own, 24 meters is less than most terror radii . So seeing the killer aura doesn't seem that appealing when it takes 4 seconds of inactivity (standing still), in the terror radius, when you would usually be running or sneaking away. On indoor maps with multiple floors i could see this being helpful though, but only if you are vulnerable because otherwise you should be doing a gen.
Chest auras don't seem very useful. Maybe if you are desperate for a self heal but personally for me bringing a medkit with enough for 2 self heals is usually enough.
Gen auras i think will be decent on indoor maps. On outdoor maps you look for the flood lights.
Combining it with open handed is pretty expensive, and im not sure if it's worth it. Sure, it's 2/16 total survivor perks, but it's 2/4 perks for that survivor. That makes them more vulnerable, since that's 2 less slots to use on something like anti-tunnel or stealth or self heal perk.
Seeing killer aura within 40 meters after standing still for 4 seconds i'm not sure is worth 2 perks. Most killers are revealed majority of the time from chasing anyways. And stealth killers are obscured by undetectable. Myers is an exception to that however.
Personally i don't see this perk being meta. I think it's a fun tool similar to Kindred, but because it requires you to go inactive for 4 seconds i don't think it'll be practical like kindred which happens automatically. -
I thought their dev note for aura nerf was reasonable. I do think interloper gear is probably too good though but we have to remember that dispel sphere exists and it's on a shorter cooldown.
-
He would be space efficient as long as there is a locker. And, he could activate nightfall, so i can sleep all day.
-
It's confirmed to be June 3rd, which is a monday, which is unusual, but that is the confirmed date.

What vibe do you look for?
I play solo q near 100% of the time. Honestly it’s just circumstance. I would love to play with forum members but I often get ignored or ghosted a lot. It hurts my feelings but whatever. Plus I don’t think people look at the lfg threads very often. And even then I get suspicious vibes from some people that reply to those threads. And wow I’m very surprised you’re asking me for my opinion. That is a really considerate thing to do. After all my time on this forum I rarely ever see anyone who cares about hearing someone else’s/ OP’s pov instead of just demonstrating their own. Wow, you alongside a few other users have given me hope for the forums. It can feel like a practice in abnegation at times.
Well im not too sure what im looking for exactly but the groups i played with, we all got tilted from losing streaks. I don't think it was anyone's fault really i guess it just wasn't a good fit. Like i said at least with solo q your team mates change each time but if you are in a group and you are constantly losing, it's likely that you will keep losing unfortunately.
Also i have to admit that i didn't try voice chat in these scenarios. I guess i am just too shy.
Sorry to hear about your LFG experiences on the forums. I've tried it once too and i am pretty put off by the experience unfortunately.
Also i felt like asking because i've liked your comments from other posts before so i wanted to see your input on the discussion 🙂 -
Me cause i've never really had any people to play with that i can vibe with. I've tried but it's never really gone how i would want it to go. Which is partly why i main killer instead but when i play survivor it's always solo q.
I like that i don't have to use voice chat and even if team mates can be troublesome, at least they are different every match.
What about you, @HerInfernalMajesty? -
The quality of life changes for twins went live, these are the 7.7.0 changes.
-
Jason is in it too. If you are open beta player you get him for free. I logged in just to get him im not sure if im gonna play the game
-
I think it would be good too but they've said before that they don't think it's worth the investment. So i guess it's not happening for the foreseeable future.
-
Background player is getting nerfed in the next update which is usually part of the problem.
-
No
-
I don't play hag but i didn't know that she had these issues. I hope they get addressed.
-
Yeah, that would be cool. Killer pick and win rate would be most interesting for me.
-
Idk, the UI has been buggy since the UE5 update. The blood is supposed to appear when are put into the dying state
-
Definitely The Hag
-
I don't have a problem with any of the collabs they've been doing. They have horror elements to them. It's what DBD does very well imo, adapting things into horror. Like trickster. All-Kill is why i started playing the game, because i found it very interesting that the game had more than just brutal dark looking slashers like trapper. It's important for the game to have variety for it to keep going.
DnD chapter is not what i would have expected from DBD but i find it fun, and i don't think it takes away from the experience at all. "floating bald man chasing elves playing lute it gets silly." i think is just looking at it too simply, same as i think people saying the game isn't a horror game because they don't get jumpscared after thousands of hours. -
Because playing with random perks solo is not the same experience as everyone in the lobby running random perks.
Devs have shared concerned about matchmaking times a lot before, i am sure they are keeping an eye on it. -
Matheiu Cote confirmed on Slasher Radio that they are working with Konami, it's video game Castlevania.

I DO hope this is just this dvveets description and not official statement as this kinda sounds insulting for actual QA consultants??!
And it is reassuring that it’s not only big content creators!I think it is just dvveets description
I think they must have testers who give balance feedback. Because it's not been said anywhere that these people actually get to playtest things early. So i would think that the people who playtest betas are listened to in regard to balance as well.
And then i think this program is for mainly players of the game. -

I don’t think this program is for us mortals. Only big content creators.
At least that’s what I am assuming, would be cool to get actual information about this program when it does influence the balance and development
@dvveet on X/Twitter has gathered information about the program.
https://x.com/dvveet/status/1794584353697042754
Basically, it seems a to be a paid QA job. -
I agree about content creators.
Naturally, they would want things to be balanced in a way where they can make clickbait videos. I hope the developers realise that. -
In my opinion it's the ones that reduce the penalty for missing special attacks if applicable. This makes the killer more forgiving, encouraging you to try and use their power more, allowing you to gain experience.
I'm not really sure for other killers. -

Jeezums how many times do you have to DC to rack up a 13 hour ban!?
Roughly 8 times. I know cause i've had issues with being disconnected involuntarily from the game before.

Thats honestly a "you"-thing, which boils down to my post - it is up to the player in this case. Nurse is not overrated, she is considered the strongest Killer in the game without any question. And this even by players who dont play her that often or dont play her well.
Her difficulty is also really exaggerated. She has a steep learning curve, but it does not take that much to do well with her. With 100 hours you should easily play her good enough to win almost every game in public matches. (No offense here, she does not suit you, so you will do worse with her. That has every player.)
This is what i mean. I think people think she is easier than she is. And yes people that don't play her themselves are going to think that. Because it's the popular narrative and she is difficult to play against.
"you should easily play her good enough to win almost every game in public matches." well, that isn't happening, that's why i think she's overrated.
Plus if people could easily win every match with this killer then her kill rate would be a lot higher. Her kill rate is similar in high mmr too, based on officially released stats, so the new player thing doesn't work there. -
I think Nurse is overrated. I get the impression on the forums that people seem to think that anyone can become gods with nurse if they just put enough time into her. I don't really think so, i've probably put 100hrs into her at this point but she's still my worst performing killer. She doesn't suit me, i do better with other killers.
That's why i don't feel like she needs a nerf at this point because i do think she is difficult to play and should be rewarding -
I had high hopes for TCM, i was hoping it might replace DBD for me, but i don't like the game anymore. It just made me appreciate DBD more.
The solo experience is terrible for both sides. The devs expect for everyone to use voice chat. Victims become outnumbered quickly without co-ordination and Killers become actually helpless on their own. It's super frustrating.
I also don't like how the post launch support has been. People gave a lot of feedback during beta about the game but it was largely ignored, because they think people didn't play the game enough, but nothing changed once the game launched. The same problems were still there and it took them months to address these issues in a way that still doesn't feel satisfactory. I don't like the balance changes either. Making grappling safer to do, encouraging victims to be more offensive, and buffing the best killer perk scout.
Individual characters are double the price of a chapter DLC. They put out cosmetic DLC when people would rather see more important fixes.
And worst of all in my opinion is that the devs are actively making fun of complainers of the game on X. Very unprofessional and unwelcoming. It's overall just a frustrating experience for me. I enjoy DBD far more. Killers are feared, and the survivor experience has far more clarity. And it has an unbeatable amount of variety and content at this point. I can even play leatherface in dbd which i think is actually a better experience… so i really have no desire to play TCM anymore.
I am sure there are people that enjoy TCM much more than me but i think the game is going the way of F13. It has a small dedicated playerbase but after launch it's lost a lot of relevancy (which i think is due to various issues that don't get addressed either at all or fast enough) I don't see any way it will get it back, they can't drop big licenses like DBD can. Characters and cosmetics won't make the experience better at least for me. Maybe a new game mode but that seems unlikely. -
Also calm spirit doesn't silence the sound of chests when the lid opens. It's really disappointing.
-
Yeah i think it's terrible. It's not even worth it on legion anymore imo. Because all they have to do is have at least one survivor healthy at a time and the penalty is minor. And if one survivor dies, then it's stuck at being minor.
I like it on plague sometimes because it encourages survivors to cleanse but there's probably better perks to use on plague.
Not worth using at all on every other killer.
I hope to see a rework in the future that makes it viable for all killers. -
This is awesome. People were really enjoying it and there's nothing going on gameplay wise for the next 2 weeks so extending this until D&D chapter is awesome.
I wouldn't be opposed to making it a permanent mode, but i'd like to know what the devs think about doing that. -
Well they'd have to be at the edge of the blast.
I think the way to go for this challenge is use Iridescent Queen.
With the static blast method with the TR extending items. You'll get a TR of approximately 54. So that's a 6 meter range to shock them in, very difficult. -
Because it's a terrible experience for the killer player. Many asym games that have tried this have proved it.
-
That edit looks awesome.
Probably can't work in normal DBD though. Mainly performance reasons. But then also Chucky and Victor would get obscured.
Maybe a modifier would be cool and the water would have special effects. Like… if you drop an item, it will float around the map.
It's an interesting idea for sure. -
I'm only tier 50 and i've done nearly every challenge. I've played 24hrs over the past 2 weeks so that's more than an hour a day.
-
Springtrap is my most wanted but i think jason should be no.1 priority for BHVR.
He's definitely not just another trapper. Trapper is inspired by Jason. When it comes to the most iconic horror villans, jason is always there. Along with Michael Myers, Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, Ghostface. He is essential for the hall of fame of horror.
The gameplay design of Jason from Friday the 13th : The Game is a great showcase of Jason's abilities. Mainly, rage and vengeance is a core theme they can work with. -

The tutorials should be better for sure, but I don't think people should be forced to do them, however rewarding them would be nice… Like some bp or shards or something like that… maybe even a steam achievement? Or a bit of lore… Some motivation.
You do get rewarded for doing tutorials. Like 100k/50k for each tutorial. If you complete them all, you unlock The Wraith and David King (yes, they are locked by default since may 2021)
-
The Stranger Things characters do not have adept achievements.
-
Didn't expect this!
I saw no one posted it here but recently something called "Jason Universe" launched which aims to bring back f13 basically.
Hopefully we get Jason in DBD soon.
I actually hope it's not the march licensed chapter next year though because it only has a killer. If they do a Friday the 13th chapter, it should really have Camp Crystal Lake and Tommy Jarvis as a survivor. Though, im sure if there was a jason only chapter it would be a huge hit anyways. -
I haven't seen it since the mid chapter update.
I don't play it anymore because i became frustrated with the behaviour of the projectile. Mainly the bounce aspect, often the projectile will just explode on a wall and the bounce always goes in a direction i don't expect. -

Scampering if it happens to give an m1 makes your power go on cooldown. Its very balanced and again, shouldn't be nerfed or buffed hes fair to play against now
Killers shouldn't get a hit just because their power is off cooldown. That isn't healthy for the game, the survivor has no chance for counterplay and it's very reliable for the killer to do. That's why replacing it with slice and dice attacks makes more sense because the killer has a chance to miss those and there's things survivors can to do avoid it.

This rework is giving him slice n dice every 10 seconds, honestly sounds way more unfair imo. Also scampering doesn't give free hits
Well regarding the slice and dice cooldown, i've had the same concerns but at the same time it could be fine once survivors adjust to it. Like the hillbilly changes.
Scamper does give free hits… even the devs agreed that it does, so this is a weird hill to die on. There's plenty of pallets in the game where if you drop it and chucky immediately scampers it, there's no opportunity to avoid the attack. Because lots of pallets are not chained to another window or pallet close enough. -
Survivors still die in 3 hooks, revealed on the live stream.

I got it! I contacted player support and they gave it to me. I think they might have redone it for everyone so I would check to see if you got it
Yeah i already had them but i just got the pop-up for both of the items when i logged in yesterday. So i guess for me they were never granted either.
-
I just spend enough to stay right under 2Mil every time I play and make sure I have 2 mil when I get off.
I mean you just explained why it exists. Because it encourages players to spend their bloodpoints.
