  • I'm very worried that chucky is ruined. The changes leave scamper in a unviable state so he is just going to be all about slice and dice spam. This seems even worse than what we have now.

Everything else seems fine to me i'm not too bothered.

  • Great update. I'm most pleased about them reducing the frustration of tantrum and making him less add-on reliant. That solves all the problems i had with him.

  • @fussy said:

They can make it as Low-Pro Chains, so you can turn a second after scamper and it will be in a very good spot imo

    Yes, i completely agree!

  • @Steakdabait said:

Health is more important than the killer powers. Chucky was one of the least interactive killers in the game. His power that should have been very expressive but it's actually super one note. This is a change that should have happened in the ptb of this killer and never changed. If he needs buffs after this change then bhvr can just buff him but after this change chucky will be in a way better place gameplay wise for BOTH sides.

I completely disagree. Slice and dice on a 12 second cooldown seems even less interactive than what we have now.

Like i said before i already agree that changing scamper is fine but to leave scamper via slice and dice in an unviable state i think is bad for the killer. No one's gonna use that, it's just going be slice and dice every 12 seconds. This doesn't sound good for the game.

  • No clue to be honest.

I would love a mori update but the PTB they did for the rework was very problematic and that was like 1 and half year ago now so i feel like they've given up on moris and that the new button to see moris is just what they are now. I would love to be wrong though. I personally love using moris but using them is commonly seen as being toxic which sucks and shouldn't be that way.

  • Huh. I wonder which one's right then… probably won't know until may 14th i guess. I'd bet it's the longer requirements though especially cause after may 14th the new chapter ptb will drop so there will be a lot of streams to watch.

  • These twitch drops are pretty good.

I noticed though that the watch requirements have gone up a bit, now it's 1hr, 4hrs, 8hrs. It was much less before.

But i think these are better than last time so a longer requirement is fair i suppose.

Was there any particular times it happened when playing Killer - ie was it when hooking, general, carrying survivors, using a lunge attack or using your power?

At the start of the match or randomly during a chase is when it seems to happen for me. I've been playing some more and i think it's definitely been reduced for me anyways but it's still there for sure.

  • For me it's still there but it's happened like twice in an hour. Playing as chucky. It could get worse though, but i guess it's not fixed unfortunately. But i feel like it has improved slightly at least.

  • Yes dx11 helped me the most. I also updated my graphics drivers and BIOS. It's still not as good as before unfortunately but yeah

  • I would downvote this post if i could.

These types of discussions don't help the game. They only create more divide in the community.

  • I don't like the idea of this buff cause it hurts plague like it currently hurts legion and deathslinger and it would discourage the use of perks and add-ons that apply broken, just like how distortion currently discourages the use of aura reading perks and add-ons.

  • Yeah it's terrible. I'm not even playing at the moment because of rubber banding and performance issues but it looks like even if i could play it wouldn't be fun.

I think it's possible BHVR won't kill switch or address multiple issues at once to avoid panic.

If so, the player experience is being sacrificed for the public image unfortunately.

I can't think of why else they haven't taken action yet.

  • Yeah rubber banding alone makes it unplayable but fps issues are really bad too. Switching to dx11 back from dx12 which seems to be the default now did help but it still feels noticably worse.

Worst state i've ever seen in the game in and i am disappointed that the devs don't seem to be acting with any urgency. Bloodpoints aren't going to make things better. I wish they fix the game and make changes to avoid this happening in the future but i feel they don't care

  • From reading her twitter account i had no idea she was ill. I'm shocked. May she rest in peace.

  • Nope i've still been rubber banding. I've tried every day this week i think and the same thing happens each day. It can be alright for some matches but then it becomes unplayable and i give up.

Keep an eye on the patch notes they'll probably detail it in one of them.

Where was this announced? I see nothing on twitter and nothing on the forums

It wasn't officially announced, i only saw people saying that this was the case. But i believe it.

  • Rubber banding is the same on both roles for me. I'm not getting network indicators, i think the rubber banding is a problem with the game itself.

  • So i discovered on twitter that it seems like the new update now uses direct x12 as a default, therefore the performance may be better or worse depending on how old your hardware is. For me it's worse. You can go back to direct x11 using steam launching options, i use "-dx11". Also, this issue fixes the problem with shaders taking forever to initialize, it happens very quickly now.

@Emeal tagging you since i remember you had the same issue with the shaders taking forever to load.

also forgot to mention that rubberbanding is still horrible unfortunately but at least they announced today they are looking into it.

  • I decided to play again, the rubberbanding is not as bad but it's definitely still there.

The performance is absolutely awful though. Killers like pig are okay but xenomorph makes my game go at 20fps. Update is absolutely having an impact on performance…

  • I believe they confirmed as a bug. I just played against it… the lullaby is way too quiet and can barely hear the hatchet sound. Not a good experience.

Dead by daylight has been pay to win for a very long time now.

I think this is true with the characters but skins giving advantages are a huge problem. This skin is like 20 dollars. With the original characters you can earn for free and you can get licensed dlc for relatively cheap especially on sale

  • Yeah i'm really disappointed in BHVR this update. They should have been testing the transition to UE5 a lot more internally before putting it live but as usual it seems they'd rather stick to their schedule than put the player experience first. It's unfortunate, i would like to play this game a lot more as a main game but for many reasons the experience is so unreliable that i can't.

  • Yeah it's what arcaneGospel says. It has 83 tiers because of doctor's ultra rare set using 1 tier for 3 pieces because it's a set.

  • If the question is "Is using software to modify the audio mix of the game (when it's not possible to do so by normal/supported means) cheating?"

Then my answer is absolutely yes. I don't see how that's different than modifying the game to make traps more visible for example.

  • Is this every time you launch the game? It happened to me too but i was thinking it would only be a one time thing because of unreal engine 5 update.

Or maybe it's a new normal thing. I heard loading time (into matches) is faster so maybe this is how.

  • Happening to me too i tried 2 games as killer and the rubberbanding was awful. I can't play til this is fixed. I'm really disappointed.

  • Just played the first match of updated twins and im getting rubber banding, but no network indicators. FPS seems fine. This is really bad. Not the first time this issue has come up either.

edit : just played a second match as doctor. Rubber banding is even worse, i can't chase survivors like this, especially when it doesn't look like they are rubber banding. I'm not playing til this is fixed, im very disappointed.

    I am on PC steam

  • Biggest want is cross progression.

Updates to The Shape and The Nightmare.

    That's it for me really.

First, I just want to make it absolutely clear that this is not intended to 'solve tunneling'. This change is solely to make the perk provide more consistent value when it activates, not bring an end to the entire tunneling playstyle. I wouldn't recommend approaching this with the idea that it will end tunneling entirely as that is not the purpose behind the change - you would be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Secondly, regarding disabling Killer powers: I see this getting suggested a lot, but this is not an option. It's one of those things that sounds really simple on paper, but once you start drilling down into it, it turns out to be a whole can of worms. Each Killer power works differently from one another, and there is no one-size-fits all solution that can apply to all of them. Each power would need to be considered on a case by case basis to determine what should happen when they're 'disabled'.

For example, even if you disable the Killer's power button to stop The Nurse from blinking, there are multiple Killers who may already have traps set up around the map - would these also need to be disabled, or are they okay since they were already there? Some Killers also have passive powers/mechanics, such as The Cenobite's Chain Hunt, which would also need to be considered. It would also limit the possibilities for future Killer powers since we would always need to worry, "But how would it work if it was disabled by this one specific perk?"

To be frank, this would be unsustainable. With over 30 Killers in the game and more on the way, having special conditions for each one would require far too much ongoing support just to make that condition feasible. To give an real example from the past, the original version of Tinkerer used to increase the effectiveness of all charge speed add-ons. Even with only a handful of Killers in the game at the time, it ended up being very confusing for players to keep track of which add-ons it could affect, a nightmare to balance because those add-ons could be too strong with the perk or too weak without it, and an unreasonable amount of work to upkeep as the game grew. In the same way, this would require quite a bit of additional work to be done for every Killer just to support one perk. It's one of the reasons that perks typically don't interact with powers, and the few that do are gradually moving away from that (e.g. Adrenaline waking up Survivors).

Don't get me wrong, it's a neat idea and the intention behind it is good, but it's way outside the scope for a single perk and could quickly turn into a confusing mess.

It won't solve tunnelling entirely but i do think previously when DS had a 5 second stun that it basically made the playstyle unviable for a lot of killers when you tried to tunnel a survivor that had it. That made it extremely popular, and i feel like it will be the same thing again.

I feel like this change is just moving backwards on addressing tunnelling. Before 6.1.0 DS was what a lot people called the band aid fix for tunnelling, and in the same patch basekit BT with haste was added to try and combat it as well as buffing OTR but now the DS stun duration is back to how it was and i feel like it will just be the bandaid fix for tunnelling again. I know it's not the intention, but i do feel like it will be an effect.

I just don't see how a perk that combats the most effective playstyle won't be meta. And it can't be good for new players that such a perk is behind a paywall.

I would really appreciate it if you could address my concerns.

It has nothing do to with "losing" as I was already slugged so I had already 'lost' this match, though I never went into this ridiculous game mode thinking about winning as such. I thought the idea was just a bit of stupid fun that nobody is taking seriously.

It is the fact that this person was more than willing to waste up to 4 minutes of my time in a supposedly fun and obviously ridiculous game mode, when they had already technically won.

But some people are just so petty they just cannot stand the thought of a single survivor escaping… in a casual ridiculous and not at all serious game mode.

Okay, so i understand that you found the modifier disappointing because of the way the killer played. I think if you understand why the killer played that way then that contributes to the discussion. Which is why i tried to explain it.

How are they teabagging? I have seen like maybe 1 survivor tea bag before, but I didn’t think it was possible to do that to the Killer.

Survivors crouching after stunning you or winning the match essentially is teabagging. I understand it's subjective. But i think a lot of players see it this way.

I don’t see how it’s constructive to accuse every survivor that crouches at exit gate to be disrespectful when they could mean it as a gg. And you already said you assume everyone does so you slug for the 4 K no matter what. Also not very constructive imo.

I don’t expect you to change your behaviour in this, though you gotta admit this is not very reasonable.

normally I think I am giving constructive feedback on this game on these forums., yeah. In this discussion? No. I didn’t even see the starting of this discussion as actual game feedback. But if you want my constructive take: give unlimited unbreakable for this game mode to avoid slugging for the 4 K as it’s really completely unnecessary for this game mode and there is no way a killer player would slug here excessively without being intentionally disrespectful.

I wasn't really accusing, but i am assuming/believing that every survivor that teabags at exit gate is a sign of disrespect. I am explaining why some players like me will act the way they do, so that hopefully you come to the understanding that the issue lies with the game and not the players, which you can't change (well, some of them anyway. others might change their behaviour based on others opinions) That's my attempt at being constructive.

Sorry to say but i feel that i am being perfectly reasonable. I think about this a lot. Because this discussions comes up constantly on these forums when it comes to things like tunnelling and camping.

Yeah, maybe this is not a good discussion for constructive feedback but it's the only post i saw about this game mode. Mods might just merge discussions anyway if i started a new one.

yeah they can and they do. For example when they slug for the 4 K even though they don’t know where the last survivor might be. Then they have the audacity of finding excuses to do it even in a goofy game mode like this one.

They can slug the 3rd survivor to find the last survivor without the risk of them getting hatch?

Disrespectful for me is when killers do things like slug the LAST survivor under a hook. Or close the hatch at the last second or let them leave but then mori them just before they reach the escape line. I can't think of any other reason why players would do this other than to torment survivors.

I don't see the point of thinking of players reasoning as "excuses" when you don't need other players approval to play the game, you only need to follow the game rules to keep playing.

I'm explaining this all to say. I think there is no changing the player in these situations with this game. But the game can be changed. I made a suggestion to potentially make the modifier feel fairer, to reduce frustration with playing the killer in the mode to make it more fun. I am trying to be constructive. Are you?

maybe the survivors ‚teabagging‘ at exit gates also don’t mean it disrespectful but as a way to say ‚ggs‘ or ‚thanks For the game‘

It’s just a game, the intent of the game is not to waste the time of the other players just so your score gets a little better. Again, it’s just a game.

seems like you are just way too deep into ‚us vs them‘

I just find it very unlikely. Teabagging in video games is commonly used to disrespect people. It's why people started doing it i believe. If people use it to express otherwise, i think that's a bad way to do it (though i understand this game has extremely limited ways to express yourself, which i think causes people to commonly misread other people's intention which is what it is unfortunately)

I believe the game is supposed to be fun, i go into it with the intention of having fun. When i encounter something that makes me feel bad, get in the way of my fun, i will want to avoid it.

I don't mean for this to be an us vs them thing, i despise those kind of posts on these forums, i find them to be unfriendly and not constructive.

To clear any confusion, i don't think survivors are the only ones who can be disrespectful, killers absolutely can and they do.

it’s only disrespectful if you let it be. They’re pressing a button in a video game. I’m not condoning being intentionally disrespectful to others but this is something I see brought up all the time and if you take a step back for a second, it’s a rather silly thing to let yourself get upset over. Laughing at things like this will improve your experience so much more than getting mad over it or taking it as a sign of disrespect.

Well i've tried this before but it doesn't work for me. I don't feel comfortable deluding (for lack of a better word) myself like that. So i just choose to work with that the intent is to be disrespectful, which i truly believe, and that it does make me feel bad.

    But i appreciate the sentiment

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3691180#Comment_3691180

by disrespecting others (slugging to waste their time, arguably more disrespectful than repeadetyly hitting the crouch button at exit gate which you have complete control over to end)

    But yeah. You do you.

I don't see it as disrespecting, only doing what the game tasks you to do. The intent is important. It wouldn't be slugging to waste others time for me, it would be slugging to prevent the hatch from spawning. Survivors that teabag at exit gates always do it to disrespect killers, there's no other plausible reason. If i was a survivor getting slugged in this game mode i would target my frustrations at the game and not the player.

Could be someone new entirely. A teaser for the annniversary chapter, perhaps?

That's an interesting possibility. Perhaps this character is featured in the 3rd story type that we usually get. The black and gold colour scheme matches the anniversary events too. Would be unusual for them to feature a design like that but not have it as an outfit in the rift though.

WE can't have fun things in the game without someone complaning about it :(

Seeing it as complaining is short sighted. It's a concern of where the development resources for the game are going. It's great that the players care about stuff like that. The devs would be less fortunate if we didn't get these types of posts.

it’s really not understandable at all. You don’t need a 4 K in this event. Its really just a silly funny game mode not to be taken seriously.

You don't need a 4k ever. But people do it for their own reasons. I don't like to be disrespected by other players for losing, so that's why i try my best to avoid it.

Teabagging at exit gates. It's a sign of disrespect. Most people don't want to be disrespected.

  • (um… apparently you can post comments without text… mods if you see this remove this and the above comment)

Yeah, there isn't really an incentive to win. But players will humiliate you for losing, so there's a reason to avoid losing. At least for me anyway it's different for everyone i suppose

  • The numbers aren't there for me. Reminds me of athletic shoes for chucky. I think the clown add-on changes seem better since if you stack them both you can make invigorate 10% haste which could be a game changer.

i mean, Because of the Oni’s sheer size in this there’s a solid chance he doesn’t need to move to keep watch on both gates.

Well yes, if the survivors had to open the gates then the oni could most likely just easily spot them doing it and get them but the way it's designed right now, closing the hatch as a killer/killing the 3rd survivor is severely decreasing the chances of getting the 4th one. So you are incentivised to slug the 3rd one. That's bad design. In my opinion the hatch should have been removed.

1 … 26 27 28 29 30 … 64
