Really though?
Is this really that necessary in a meme game mode? I guess I just have the wrong attitude or something but to me it seems really mean at petty to do this in what is clearly not a serious game mode in the first place.
Well when i got 3 kills and closed the hatch the last survivor hid until the last second in egc and then teabagged as they left. So yeah it does seem necessary… and if you think it's not a serious game mode then why do you care about losing anyway?

I just had a killer slug us to get the 4k…. on a fun meme game mode.
I don't understand some people.
When you close the hatch the gates open automatically which is dumb. Understandable why people would slug.
-
No, old survivor meta was awful for the killer experience. No basekit BT either.
-
Sounds like The Hag to me.
-
Don't you think the hours you put in for something no one else but you can see be somewhat equivalent to the person who gets a character to p100
No, earning p3 with the old system is different than earning p100.
When you prestiged with the old system, you would lose all your items only for bloody cosmetics and a very slight rarity increase in the bloodweb. You would have to be dedicated to the game and the character(s) to make the decision to prestige, most people would stay at p0 level 50. So it's nice that BHVR rewarded the players that did prestige. To p100 you spend lots of bloodpoints on the same character and that it's it. The icon is enough for plenty of players.
They shouldn't redistribute the prestige legacy reward. DBD hardly rewards longtime dedicated players as it is. -
Honestly i think there's no point of trying to stop teabagging. Players who want to BM will BM however they can.
All i can say is if they do it early to mid game, they are most likely leading you into an unfavourable chase, so it's wise to think about why they would do it at that point and decide the best course of action to win.
And when they teabag at the end, well, that's just a reason to try and stop survivors from escaping next time.
I truly do wish people were more kind and respectful in all aspects of life but it's just not reality. Best to focus on how you respond to it. I think the people that say things like "it's not that serious" are not helping. -
Thanataphobia was truly ruined in 6.1.2. The changes they made were in response to legion and plague using it, but what they did is make the perk terrible on basically every other killer and hardly worth running on legion and plague.
Not really sure how it should be changed but it should be changed in a way that makes it more applicable to all killers and it should reward hit and run.
-
Yes i think it's a big problem. Perks shouldn't make vulnerable survivors feel empowered, it ruins the killer experience. That was how the old meta was with DH and IW. Injured survivors had true invincibility on demand plus distance and they were completely silent. So they were better than healthy survivors which is not how the core game is designed.
If this DS change goes live it's gonna make recently unhooked survivors like that. Survivors will just use their defensive tools offensively and it will work and it will be massively frustrating for killers. I really hope they will reconsider the change. That they think about why they made that change in the first place. -
I don't really see the appeal of it. I already have all perks unlocked and plenty of items on the characters i play, and p100 is pointless to me.
-
No i do not think killers should be punished for killing survivors.
They should give more opportunity for survivors to respond to it instead. -
I don't think it's overpowered, it's unreliable. Survivors can pretty much decide where to go down as long as they have enough warning, and they can also go in lockers. It can be very effective sometimes but yeah i often prefer to use POP since you can choose which generator to target.
-
They said they are not being changed for now due to programmer bandwidth. So maybe in the future instead.
-
Technician for survivor. I don't think it does it's job very well. It shouldn't have an additional repair penalty.
Hex : Two can play for killer. Doesn't really seem to make getting stunned or blinded worth it.
-
I found 5 second DS to be brutal to deal with as a killer. Though maybe i would deal with it better now that i have more experience but i did find it to be very potent.
I will definitely use it a survivor. I did when it was 5 seconds, it helped a lot. -

No back in the day killers would sit out a locker wasting time and the reason they complained was because end game you could get taken off hook be at exit gate and crawl out. I used to hop in a locker waste the killers time and not even have the perk. We have never seen the perk actualy give you more then 2 sec to get away and be disabled after doing an action.
We have though? For like an entire year ds had 5 second stun plus the deactivation conditions.
Yeah i agree the endgame usage was the main complaints but the 5 second stun was very powerful, many people say this. It's why tunnelling was on a rise when it got nerfed. It's why they buffed OTR to replace it. -

It will be untill killers stop tunneling.
Nah it's gotta stay meta to keep the fear there. Once people feel comfortable to take it off, they'll get tunnelled and put the perk back on again. That's what happened before

It wasnt and we wont know until we find out there was never an in between to see how it worked.
Well that last part is true but i still believe it'll be in nearly every loadout if it goes live

No the only reason it was meta was because it worked after the last gen.
I don't believe that. It was very effective at dealing with tunnelling. Everyone on forums who complained about tunnelling would just get told to use DS.
-
I don't like the DS change because it's just moving backwards.
It was changed because it was meta, highly used. It's the anti-tunnel solution, and it's behind a paywall. All these problems are coming back with this change. Survivors will probably start using it offensively again, like forcing a wesker grab to get a DS off. It's gonna be annoying. It's also not even that bad of a perk right now. I see it fairly frequently as it is and it does make a difference when i am playing killer.
Something else should be done to address tunnelling.
I'm disappointed i really thought they wouldn't go backwards on this. I hope they reconsider before this goes live. Maybe make it 4 seconds or something. -
I don't believe the new animation will make a gameplay difference. It's always locked survivors in place for 1-2 seconds after they use it. DS was 5 seconds previously, we know how it's gonna go.

If it's in such a great spot, why does nobody use it?
Loads of people use it in my experience recently. I've gone against some lobbies recently where all 4 survivors had it (they were most likely SWF but still.)

it’s also no fun to get tunneled out of the game 5 gens in despite “anti tunnel” perks just bc the killer can.
A lot of survs with Adren will stick a gen injured for a free heal but that’s not the problem? You have 4 survs with Adren but you hooked one so that means now you have to deal with 3 full heals and still get an easy target to gun down at end game assuming they aren’t dead already.
it’s also no fun to get tunneled out of the game 5 gens in despite “anti tunnel” perks just bc the killer can.
I never said that was fun?
The problem i have with adrenaline is that often the killer can't respond to it in the endgame. So i think a nerf makes sense but i think nerfing it to the point of people not wanting to use it should be avoided as well. -

Hiya all!
Blindness isn't going anywhere - it will still be part of Ultimate Weapon.
As for the Dev Note and the implication that Blindness was being removed - that's entirely on us and we apologize for confusion.
Thank you for clarifying
-
I understand why people don't like this change but at the same time it's not fun for killer in endgame to get a hook and then the unhooked survivor gets adrenaline, it just takes away any chance the killer had to take the game back.
Maybe if you are hooked the effect could be different, like you automatically self unhook but you are still injured but you get the 5 second speed boost. -
Most likely the blindness is being removed they just forgot to add it to the dev update.

So, the new version of decisive strike stuns the killer for 5 seconds now, and adrenaline still the same thing but a bit weaker, 3 seconds sprint instead of 5 seconds, and no more ´´healthy on hook´´ thing, it´s insane how some people are already saying that they gutted Adrenaline when literally nothing changed at all 💀
i don´t know why people think ds is bad, it literally wins the game for you if the killer is tunneling (if the survivors are doing gens too), with the 5 seconds stun you can make a 20 meters distance between the killer and you (so no more tunneling for only $10 *cough cough*)
------------------------------------------------------------------
The new ultimate weapon looks fine i guess?, you need to actually pay attention because the survivors are not going to scream anymore
I don't understand why people think DS is bad now either. It was meta when it was 5 seconds and i don't see why it won't be again. Personally it's on track for it to be a must have perk for me along with unbreakable and or plot twist.
Adrenaline change is pretty significant and i see it's usage dropping a lot. It not working on hook may be pretty frustrating to deal with. And the 3 second boost instead of 5 means it won't be enough to escape a chase in endgame. Right now the 5 seconds is enough for the survivor to make a lot of distance from the killer and make the killer lose the survivor. 3 second is the same as lithe/sprint burst so it will be very difficult to do that anymore.
Ultimate weapon is a rework. It will be better for some scenarios and some players i think. Personally i like this version a lot more because i don't like that the old one gave survivors a warning to start running. This one allows you to track them. Unfortunately distortion and off the record will make it a lot weaker and the 60 second cooldown is quite long so i don't think it'll be super popular.
-
Nah. I prefer playing killer, but i find survivor to be a brutal and unforgiving experience. Killer can be difficult too but they truly do feel like the power role at the moment. As it should!

The old, new Meta:
Deadhard, Off the Record (instead of BT, cause this is basekit), Deceisive Strike, Unbreakable
Plot twist might actually work better than Unbreakable with DS but im not sure
-
Justified nerf in my opinion, killer can't really respond to adrenaline as it is right now.
Plus if they left adrenaline as it is with the decisive strike change, DS and Adrenaline would be an easy meta choice because adrenaline makes up for DS's weakness of not working in endgame. It'll still do that but at least by not as much since killer can still chase a survivor who gets adrenaline and still get the hooked adrenaline survivor.
-
Yeah i believe it was march or may 2022 that it was acknowledged as a bug. Too way too long for it to be fixed and they never mentioned it again until now.
I'm glad they didn't nerf him in other ways because i'm a player who doesn't use hug tech and isn't very good with blight anyway. I do not get good results with him right now, so if they nerfed his basekit or something he would become unplayable for me, so i am very happy that this is the only update they are doing to him.
-
Very happy about blight hug tech being removed. Seriously shouldn't have taken 2 whole years (from it being confirmed as bug, not it's existence) though.
Haddonfield update sounds reasonable and good.
DS update is just going backwards so i would have prefered a basegame adjustment but i think it's better than nothing.
Adrenaline change is great. Still a strong pick but now killers will be able to respond to it when it hhappens.
Ultimate weapon change i think is great too. I honestly don't think it'll be that strong because of it's long cooldown but it sounds quite fun to use. I like that survivors won't know you have it anymore because i didn't like that part of it right now.
Depips being removed is great. Saw a lot of people wanting on the forums so it's good to see they were heard. I personally didn't really mind it but i am in favour of the change.
Store looks pretty nice. Rift pass being on update is a very good change.
I'm not really sure what to think of twins rework, i need practical experience.
Overall seems like a great update. I'm shocked about DS change i didn't think they would just go backwards but i'm interested to see how it will play out.
-
I'm disappointed honestly because it's just going backwards. We are back to DS being a must have most likely and it being a paywall.
I would rather they give more basekit options to deal with tunnelling.
-
Thought they had forgotten about the charm cause it was in the promo material before but it was not in the collection tab/tome. I like it and the badge is cool too with the blood bubble banner.
-
We are rather reaching 400% fast, but I feel like we will have very little time to enjoy it as the end of the week is almost here.
This is by design. They probably won't extend it.
-
I asked Mandy about it here on the forums and she said that it doesn't mean it's necessarily cancelled it's just not on the roadmap at the moment. So it could very well still be coming.
-
Looking forward to what they do. I really hope we get a Michael Myers update as well at some point, a graphical rework and gameplay update would be much appreciated
-
I think it's because they don't like the killer, they went down too fast, no gens got done or they see team mates not doing gens. Or maybe they are just bored i guess.
-
At this point it doesn't stop people from completing new content on release anymore so i think the only reason why it exists now is to encourage people to spend their bloodpoints.
-
Yes i would like a Kindred charm. And for killer, i would love a noed charm lol.
-
The blood bonuses are majorly disappointing. They intended for it to be the best time to get bloodpoints in DBD, but it doesn't even come close the bloodpoints you would get at anniversary. The multiplier will take too long to increase as well.
I don't really like the cosmetics. They feel a bit bland to me and i prefer just using the bloody cosmetics you get from prestiging.
I think the gameplay is kinda good though. The lunge distance you can get with myers is really fun. I think the stealth bonus that survivors receive is useful. The new map item is good too.
Overall i think the event is not good. But i think it can be with improvements.
-
Trickster's memento blades are a must have at the moment
-
Honestly me too. We've had 2x bloodpoints before. When they said the multiplier can get pretty ridiculous i thought that would mean a lot higher than what we've seen before, like 5x
-
We should be able to hide in them
-
A new killer called The Unknown has been added to Dead By Daylight, voiced by a transgender woman – but she's slammed the character design.
-
I play chucky all the time, i love playing as him.
I have to admit though he can get a bit stale. I think his skill ceiling is not really that high, his attack hits pretty consistently.
His add-ons are also not really that good, they all got nerfed hard from PTB. I mostly use the uncommon ones. The aura ones are decent too but distortion will turn them against you which sucks.
But i love playing as him because the playstyle really suits me. I also love the character too, the voice lines are perfect.
I can see why he dropped off a bit though. I think people went back to the killers that have more of a skill ceiling. I still like playing chucky though because i prefer the easier killers, i don't have much motivation to get good at a difficult killer.
-
It's fun but people just aren't understanding how to deal with it yet which makes it seem way stronger than it will be.
People should look at it more than they are. You don't have to constantly do it either, there's 1.2 second buffer so you can quickly alternate looking in front of you and behind you.
Even more importantly people need to dispel hallucinations. They are very powerful when survivors don't do anything about them. Just don't dispel when you think it can see you doing it, and do not cancel the dispel either.
Until people learn how to apply these two things regularly i think it's hard to know how strong it will be.
-
I don't feel like there was a window there. I know there is houses on that map with 2 windows but not where a kitchen is
-
The style of it is called Analog Horror.
I quite enjoy it. The graphics looks very amazing almost realistic, but it is confirmed to be CG and not live on twitter/X.
I think it's perfect really. Gives you a good look at the map and the survivor, and the ending of it invites you to play the game. Really cool.

second line is not true since Trickster is faster now
High wall loops are still a problem for trickster. His only power is getting fast downs and if he can't do that he has no power. 4.6 helped a little bit in this regard but it didn't change him being map/loop dependant.
-
The Clown = I thought the buffs would feel more impactful. I feel like with clown, i am throwing more bottles but chases don't seem to be ending any faster. Invigorate still does not feel that effective, but it is slightly easier to get the effect of it. Maybe i need to practice clown though.
The Doctor = Change feels quite good.
The Hag = She feels slighty smoother to play as, i rarely play her though but this makes me want to play her a bit more than before.
The Huntress = I personally hate playing as huntress because i find the environmental collision frustrating to deal with. I know buffing her is a controversial decision but i like it because she does feel slightly less frustrating to play as for me, it's surprising how much of a difference 0.1 second makes to the wind up. The increased hatchet count means i don't have to reload after every hook now which i like. So i like it.
The Pig = I think she overall is weaker. Being able to see jigsaw box auras was a huge strength because it allowed you to torment trapped survivors. The changes to ambush can help sometimes but i don't feel like it's a reliable way to get downs. Maybe i need more practice with this version of pig like with the clown but first impressions since PTB are that i'm not a huge fan of removing jigsaw box auras. I feel like the box auras made you feel like amanda. Survivors would play the game but then amanda would want to make sure they fail. But maybe that's not what the design intent was.
Overall i appreciate these tweaks to the killers. Just keeping killers updated makes me want to play more of a variety because it makes me feel like the balance of a killer has been verified and updated by the devs. Some killers like myers have not been updated for years, they feel outdated, like they are not matched up with the current environment of DBD, making them feel insufficient.
