Calm Spirit - Togglable

Please, please, please consider either:

  • reverting Calm Spirit's changes to add the whole 'open chests and cleanse/bless totems silently' thing

OR

  • adding a toggle for said feature (i.e. allow me to choose whether I want to cleanse a totem slow and silently, or normally)

Rarely do I ever need to do these things silently… Think of it this way: When do you need to break a totem, open a chest, or add a boon silently? When the Killer is right nearby.

But here's the thing… they're either

  • A, going to already be watching the area (in case of hexes, they'll be guarding them… and if you're really gonna try to break a hex in their face, the last thing you need is to be slowed)
  • or B, going to hear/see when the action completes (hearing the boon sound and seeing the blue glow, or hearing the loud chest-opening noise), in which case your boon gets snuffed or you get hit trying to pick up an item.

It was nice for a perk that had been sitting on the sidelines for a while get some attention, but… I cannot name a single time where this addition has helped instead of hinder me.

Please. I just want to go back to the 'no screaming or disturbing crows' version of Calm… Would this be possible?

  • Honestly, just remove the downside. You know, the one where you are 30% slower?

That could also work. It just drives me mad, equipping Calm for any number of reasons and then getting game after game of multiple hexes.. There really doesn't need to be a slowdown for this perk 😭

  • I have absolutely no idea why this speed penalty is still a thing. It makes the perk really unappealing to use.

It's pretty universally complained about as well.

  • Calm Spirit is gonna be interesting with Vecna's new perk... I think people don't realise how many times they disturb a crow in a game. Lithe users are gonna be pissed when they realise and will likely take this perk to stop that exhaustion effect.

But yeah, neither the whole silent chest/totem with the slower progress thing makes sense for this perk. It'd make more sense for that affect to be on a completely different perk specifically to do with totems, and just remove it from Calm Spirit.

  • Also calm spirit doesn't silence the sound of chests when the lid opens. It's really disappointing.
