This new Mmr is definitely sporadic
Played a few artist games one game I didn't get one kill people were 100% better than me then the next game I went against 2 megs that didn't know how to heal deep wounds and they didn't know how the terror radius worked and ran into me
Yeah it's been all over the place for me. Killer games have been anything from dedicated bully squads to megs getting gen-grabbed after I literally walked up to them with spine chill.
Survivor games have anything from sweatlord spirits with mother daughter ring + dried cherry blossom tunneling people out at 5 gens to....
1 perk Billies getting curbstomped

You aren't selecting your opponent queueing as killer. Regardless if you lobby dodge or not, you have no control over what perks or characters the people you are facing are playing as.
Fine, fine, some of the Total War games with hotdrop mode where you could get a real player to jump in and fight your campaign battle with you. If the armies were large enough you could choose to search for someone to play your opponents army or leave it to the AI.

Dead by daylight, as killer. Lol

Not to mention, cleansing a totem for 1,000 BP or blessing (as many times as a free totem is available) for 1,500 BP! And that only takes 14 seconds! Doing a solo gen needs to award 2,000 BP - skill checks aside.
I agree, solo gens need to award more BP since it's the most optimal thing you can be doing in the game. Stacking up is usually a bad thing unless it's a critical gen.
It's definitely annoying doing like 3 gens or something then having your team accuse you of doing nothing because you barely got any points. They should maybe add the gens done, unhook counter, and time running the killer to the endgame screen.
Running the killer should probably award more too, especially since the majority of the killers coming out can basically never get stunned. Of the last 9 killers released, only poor Onryo really needs to eat pallets at all. Almost all the rest of them are ranged.
-
@Shaped said:
You have other objectives/emblems as well my guy.
Being in chase barely gets you anything, unless the killer is eating pallets nonstop.
The most BP in this game is doing gens with another person, or unhooking.
Doing solo gens and getting chased is meh. I think a whole solo gen is 1250 points and takes 80 seconds, unhooking someone with BT is 1500 and takes like 2 seconds (and gets you stacks).
I think 1 gen with Prove on gets you the equivalent of 4 gens solo?
-
It's fair because of gen speeds and the survivor second chance meta. A 30-40 second chase at the start of a game can lose you 2-3 gens sometimes, which is insane.
15-20 seconds to find someone, 10-20 seconds to hold W up to them, 30-40 second chase, then 10-15 seconds to hook them and it's boom half your gens gone if not more. From there you basically HAVE to tunnel for any sort of chance to win
-
Depends what build I am using. Blight it's actually pretty fun to smash into the doors with compound 33 and you can basically clear out all of them in seconds
Kicking down a door while undetectable to start a chase is also pretty thematic imo
I just wish more were like Midwich, where they are strategic choices to make which doors to open rather than essentially pre-dropped pallets

I can definitively tell you slugging works well with Sadako against good teams. I’ve done it personally and there’s streamers who do it regularly.
Ok well I will give it a shot next time I am playing her. What perk build do you run on her?

Slugging actually improves your pressure, especially with her because of her high map mobility. By slugging you are trading securing a hook state for an additional 10 seconds or so getting into a second chase. So if you can hook one specific survivor when you down them and slug the others for example then you are keeping typically three people off gens and also focusing your carrying time on just one person to eliminate them. Plus because of all the extra teleports you get doing this you have the side benefit of building up stacks more quickly which also adds pressure and sometimes even a kill.
Sure, but it doesn't change the fact that it's very difficult to slug a good team with a pure M1 killer. An unbreakable or two would shut that down so quickly that it's probably not going to be worth the risk. It's different on killers who down people easily.
On a super safe and brightly lit map; with lots of people being greedy because of dead hard, I don't see where you are slugging everyone bar some massive misplays.
If I was in a position where I can hook one person and slug multiple others, I probably could have won that game just using pop and actually hooking them the majority of the time. Sadako is exceptional at delivering Pop, I will say that. Assuming the survivors don't just turn off your power basically for free.

Sadako’s add-on that applies Condemned to survivors who heal each other is amazing assuming you are slugging in combination with occasional hooks. Every time someone revives a slugged survivor who has a stack they gain a stack, and if they also heal that person to full that’s another stack. And if two survivors heal a third that’s two stacks. It’s not infrequent to see survivors get to full Condemned status when you use that add-on and slug a bit.
Her red-addon that refreshes teleports on a hit after Manifesting is also pretty great. It significantly improves how often the TVs are avaialable.
Some of her other add-ons are also decent but those are probably her best two.
Against a really good team, I am typically struggling for downs with her. Let alone having the luxury to slug. Some maps can be decent and I always buy indoor map offerings on her.
But against a good team with 3-4 dead hards on say, Eyrie of Crows, it's usually a very painful experience. Especially if it's a genrush one finishing the first two gens before corrupt is over. I don't see where you can afford to be slugging on a map like that where every M1 hit is a battle
-
@dugman said:
She’s actually already probably as good or maybe just slightly better than Wraith so she may not need a big buff. But if her stats turn out to be too low and the devs buff her some possible ones might be
- Remove her lullaby. I’m not sure why a stealth killer has a lullaby in the first place? Maybe they’re worried that her being 115% and almost always Undetectable would be too strong? Like I said, she may not even need a buff so that thinking might be right, but if not removing the Lullaby would be helpful.
- Lower the TV refresh timers. The faster the TVs come back the more often she can teleport where she wants which improves her map pressure and her frequency that she inflicts Condemned.
- Make all survivors who have Condemned build it up passively over time similar to when they are carrying a tape. Maybe if you have a tape it passively builds up more quickly than if you don’t, but either way having the Condemned build up on its own once you have a stack would increase the pressure survivors have to deal with it.
I think Wraith is way better, if only for his add-ons. Wraith addons make him a straight up better M1 killer. He can apply mangled, get wallhacks, get full generator information, etc etc
Sadako's add-ons.....do almost nothing really. Or at least not that I have figured out. Good survivors don't fall for her flickering mindgames really and that's all she has. Maybe running through people while demanifested? Idk. They can still just camp the pallet.
Wraith at least gets his super lunge so his power can do ~something~ in chase
All Onryo has is S tier chase music. On a few occasions the RNG gods have shined upon me and I was able to TV spam someone to death by using literally every TV in a row mid-chase

Ghost Face breaks out of Stealth when he attacks or when someone else who is unmarked sees him even after the patch.
Onryo can be Stealthy at will but does have a lullaby which hampers it slightly. And she has to be out of stealth to attack. (The lullaby kind of hurts her stealth a bit.)
Yeah but if he is attacking, they are marked, so they are going down to it. Unless you get 360'd; it's not like you really miss many swings in this game. I doubt anyone in solo Q is going to be following you around revealing you during a chase either, only SWFs.
Onryo can also have Well Water which allows her to attack while undetectable still, assuming you time the manifest correctly.
Overall the new Ghostface will probably be about as close as it will get. His new addons should make him pretty spooky too, especially the one that gives you a speedup after marking someone.

Ok?
I mean it's what he is good at. You can't blame people for playing into a characters strength.
Nobody said the survivors had to swarm me at the hook, in the basement, but they did.
Is it my fault for taking advantage? I don't think so. I guess I should have just let the survivor who followed me into the basement unhook while I went to reload?

@anarchy753 said:
I've personally never understood the hype about it.
Shred is a power designed to help you get faster hits in a chase, so why would you bring a perk that is only effective if you neglect Shred for 3 out of every 4 attacks? Yes, you can use Shred to not M1 the obsession to keep the stacks up, but likewise you can just use Shred to down people anyway.
It's just a terribly designed perk in general, because anyone who has a good way to maintain their stacks is better off using that alternate way of attacking because in general it's a chase power. The only killers it's really significant on are those with built in exposed so they lose half as many stacks, or something like Pig where you can use your power to get hits, but it's generally less efficient.
It's just there for unhooks and bodyblocks. Against good survivors you are gonna need to be shredding most of the time for hits since M1s will never be coming easy.
The only time I am ever getting a ton of hits in a row with it is during an unhook, and IMO you should only really be camping hooks with Demo if things are really desperate.
My go-to has been enduring since pallet validation became a thing. Getting stunned out of a shred is so painful and can basically end the chase depending on where it happens. And Demo needs to throw himself through pallets often enough I think it justifies the slot, certainly more than STBFL

Neither Wraith nor Ghostface is permanently Undetectable. Wraith has to Decloak to attack, and Ghostface is frequently snapped out of Undetectability including after an attack. The only killer in the game that is permanently Undetectable is Evil 1 Meyers.
With the rework, Ghostface will basically be permanently undetectable in a chase. Assuming you get a good expose on them
Onryo is essentially undetectable in a chase as well, especially with certain add-ons. And it's still not really a good chase power whatsoever

If they can't find cover in the time it takes 50% laceration to down them then they kinda deserve it.
I mean you still try to hit their legs with it, but if you miss it hits the ground and still damages them.

For one, 99% of Killers who play Trickster are 14 year old jerks. I know probably not OP. I know there are exceptions as well ( you dont have to tell me), but BHVR designed him to lure in a very young crowd of vapid, giggling morons who lurve K-Pop and think he is like, soo 'kyoot' . ପ(๑•ᴗ•๑)ଓ ♡!!!!!
The vast majority of Tricksters camp and tunnel. When I get into a match and hear that music that sounds clownish, but is not for THE Clown, I just roll my eyes as a Solo queue player and wait for the first down. Should I save? Oh look, there's little Ji Woon face-camping and continuously throwing knives into the hooked survivor.
How bad ass.
I'm so glad I waited 10 minutes for this and wasted an item I'll eventually lose to this idiot.
Again, I know this does not describe the OP, but it's my usual Trickster experience.
I just play him cause he is good at camping and can get downs pretty easy. My one trickster game today lasted like 4m as a cocky survivor followed me carrying my first down into the basement and got nuked.
Gotta spam the knives into them as they die too, omegalul

Is it an aesthetic thing? Ive heard it's because he's a lose/lose if you're in a dead zone but I can down you faster as huntress in the same spots.
Cause Huntress you can dodge the hatchets. Especially with certain addons, Trickster is just damaging you for being in LOS of him. So his counterplay is ultimately pretty boring to perform.

Because they want the BP? Because a 4K is achievable? Because a 4K in the current META is, if your MMR is proper, almost impossible?
Who cares WHY; it's part of the game. A goal Killers can reach for. And I'm sick of Survivors treating me like ######### for trying when I have the rare chance.
Uhhh, with the MMR changes, I have basically been winning nonstop as killer. "4k is impossible" like #########? Literally I 4k half the games I play. And probably 3k the majority of the rest. Pretty much the only time I am losing is on some straight dumpster tier killers like Sadako.
You have people like Pro Vengeance back on a 150+ winstreak as killer. The game is easier than ever since the MMR changes. I recommend you go watch him by the way, if you are struggling that hard as killer.

Fair enough. But it's still a mechanic Killers are trying to avoid so they can get the 4K.
And then Survivors sit here and snivel 'This unfair! I'm bored! Allow me to do THAT EXACT THING on the ground! My friend deserves the hatch more than the Killer deserves his 4K! Selfish Killer should just hook me so I can do that EXACT THING on the hook! How DARE he go for a 4K!' Insert more 'Be happy with the 3K' dribble Survivors love to say.
Can you tell I'm tired of being told I'm selfish, the villain, etc. for going for the 4k? Survivors sit here and act like everything a Killer does has to pass Survivor Quality Standards for their opponent.
I will never understand killers who waste 4m every game slugging for the 4k. I only do it if someone BMd me, I got sent to a trash map, or I have a really good idea where the last survivor is. 4m is already halfway into another match

Was that time all before the nerf, or some after?
I would rather face a killer who’s strong in chase than one who has the easy convenience of camping and tunneling. Nurse mains deserve far more respect than a great deal of the killer roster.
Wondering how much time you’ve had on her with more experienced survivors and maps out there these days.
Both. Also, it would be disingenuous to suggest Nurse cannot camp or tunnel easily. She is the best tunneler in the game. Hit with DS? Who cares. You can hit BT, who cares? You can be right back on them in seconds.
I have only played her a few times recently, and did Purple Range + Plaid Flannel since I knew I would be rusty. Still won every match with almost no issues, after playing her like once or twice a year.
No reason to play Nurse when Blight exists. He is 10x more fun and almost just as strong.
-
I used to play her a bit, back when RNG mori headtraps were a thing. Now I have played pig only a few times for AFK pig.
I think if you were gonna play her seriously, the best addons outside her iri's are probably now combat straps + workshop grease. Those will actually allow you to use the ambush attack in a chase at short loops.
Discordance, whispers, or some other sort of tracking perk is useful to actually use her stealth effectively instead of wasting a ton of time crouching around. I always run a chase perk or two as well, she needs it.

Survivor main here, Nurse base kit is perfect. She is the best killer in the game to face, with the most skill ceiling. As others have said, I could only see range add-ons being nerfed a bit; but they also better rework her two meme add-ons.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2916964#Comment_2916964
Bad killer and Nurse really don’t go together well in the same sentence. Nurse requires more mechanical knowledge and expertise than any other killer in the game. A lot more thrilling trials than a ‘skilled’ (by MMR standards) Bubba who stands in front of a hooked survivor.
I found her a breeze to pick up. She was the first killer I ever mained, for probably the first 400+ hours of DBD. After that it hit me how broken she was and moved onto other killers who were actually a challenge to play. I have little to no respect for nurse mains.

Then you can go for the survivors not doing the locker stuff. And if you’re playing to chill, it shouldn’t matter what they do or say anyways. You aren’t trying to win or play seriously.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2917003#Comment_2917003
It’s entitlement to expect other people to not be serious just cause you aren’t. Either they can get over themselves and accept they will go against people trying, and test that build in a forged-by-fire method, or they can play more seriously.
Yes I should just sit back and be bullied by people exploiting. That's a good idea. Let me just leave them to do gens for free, and run all the way across the map to 2 more survivors who might potentially just start doing it over there.
Heck no, I facecamped and tunneled them off hook. The entire match took place around the RPD god window which is why after 2-3 minutes both zombies were there and started killing people for me.

Yeah idk about this post. I ran into a dedicated bully squad earlier doing that locker flashlight BS which basically has no counter at all. Then since they were all swarming me on RPD as Nemesis eventually the zombies closed in and got them all.
Then I was told "What kinda killer needs AI to do their job for them wah wah" after they pretty much exploited locker flashlight saves and one of them then admitted to being a nemesis main???
Weird game, they only got 2 gens done but I probably got robbed of a hook like 5 times. You would have two people sitting in a locker next to eachother and you just cannot open them, so dumb. Luckily it's only the second time I have run into a squad doing that.
Flashlight macro's, teabagging at every pallet, etc etc etc and I guess the sweat is just all in my head

I would love if they nerfed nurse, too many bad killers get carried by her. When they did the rework and like 80% of the nurse mains quit it was a very happy day

Not really possible with the gen speeds currently. Stronger killers can get away with whatever build they want for the most part, but weaker ones are pretty restricted. M1 killers are basically only ever going to get downs after all the safe pallets in an area have been cleared out, and there is simply not enough time for them to do that without multiple slowdowns.

Wouldn't you feel the same thing against a tier 3 myers, or killers with insta down perks like when haunted grounds is active etc
Yeah idk, I mean top tier killers are not scary per say but the threat level is way higher. Killers like Nurse / Blight you basically hide from and if they see you even half a mile away they fly over and hit you. I guess not as "scary" as Bubba since Bubba instadowns you and its all or nothing but it's more threatening overall if it's a higher tier killer.

Tombstone myers is way scarier than Bubba imo. Why even hook people? Just murder them on the spot

The problem is not that Survivor perks are weak. They have lots of fun perks that you can get a lot of value out of.
The problem is that perks like Dead Hard are SO INSANELY OVERPOWERED that your average perk looks like trash in comparison.
When people say "There have been no new meta perks since X", what they are really doing is highlighting how busted X is.
I think it's that many people don't want to have to watch their team die completely helplessly because the killer decides to stand in front of the hook. It's a game design issue they resolved through perks.
It's way too trival to tunnel someone out if those perks are not used. And killer passive slowdown is at a point where doing gens isn't even the counter anymore.

Just treat the game as a battle royal in solo Q instead of a team-based game. It's really not unless you are in a SWF.

So first of all, welcome back.
Yeah, the game is not in a great spot right now. Circle of Healing as you pretty much already said is a huge power creep. It’s actually getting its second nerf (third if you count the PTB nerf) next week, but it’s still going to be ridiculously strong as it’s not really being nerfed in the right way.
Idk exactly how long it’s been since you played, but in case you missed it, ranks (they’re called grades now) aren’t used for matchmaking anymore, there’s an MMR system now and they actually recently made some tweaks (and by recently I mean just a couple days ago) to the system.
As far as facecamping goes, the devs have said they are working on changes to facecamping but we do not know yet what this entails or when it will be implemented. Some form of basekit BT was sort of hinted at in a Q&A stream but nothing is confirmed.
Basekit BT would be fantastic imo. That and basekit kindred? The solo Q / SWF gap would be closed quite a bit. Then they could start buffing some of the dumpster tier killers to be more competitive

Because there are way to many weak perks. Many perks you need coordination to make work. For the people needs your team to have soul guard. Plus going up against a plague with for the people on your build sucks. For sabatour you need someone to tell you what hook your going too. Same for breakout. Way would you use smash hit when dead hard (i hate that perk) spirit burst and lithe are better. I love blast mine and flashbang but they have a stupid penalty when working on a gen with someone else. No mither is garbage and is basically a killer perk. Erban evasion sucks. Left behind sucks. Sole survivor sucks. Corrective action sucks. Most perks either suck or are just super situational. If you could buff them then maybe you see more variety
Left behind is actually amazing with a key. Basically the only thing that stops you instantly dying in solo Q if your teammates get bodied or DC, unless you wanna leave it up to RNG. Funnily enough it's usually the last survivor with you trying to reveal your location to the killer, rather than the killer themselves, that end up being the biggest threat.
UE was pretty good too until they nerfed blendette. Now I could only see really using it with like a Dead Dawg offering to urban evade around the bushes in the back.
-
Killers actually have much, much more room in the builds than survivor.
Survivor you basically need BT/DS to not instantly lose to a camping/tunneling killer. Especially if the killer is trying to force a kill and you need to go trade, that's where BT/DS come in for me. Since then you may get camped/tunneled off the hook and basically are going on the hook in the first place through little fault of your own.

Exactly why dead hard is a much bigger problem than sprint burst will ever be.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2915932#Comment_2915932
They can make it somewhere sure but once they get there they either play the loop well or they get hit. None of this risky looping 50 times until forced to drop it then move on to the next one until forced to dead hard before you actually feel threatened.
I don't know, in this meta, looping is almost obsolete. Holding W and predropping is better against pretty much all the new killers. So many of the new killers just hit you over every pallet anyways, there is no real point to try to loop them. As long as your team is slamming gens, dropping pallets like candy is totally fine on most maps. I rarely play greedy, and would rather drop 5 pallets while 3 people work on gens than risk going down to save 1 pallet out of 20 on the map.
DH is annoying but I don't think it's stronger than SB. The only time it's better is during an unhook scenario. SB can also be used with Fixated to let you hold it without much penalty and also be very stealthy at the same time. Hiding and doing gens is optimal DBD. If the killer comes to your gen, and can't find anyone, they wasted a bunch of time for nothing. If they come over and start a chase with you, you are actively burning the maps resources.

Sprint burst users can't make a mistake and fix it with a single button press or play greedy around every single pallet because they know a single E will save them. Sprint burst is a good perk but its nowhere near as broken as dead hard and that's why it's nowhere near as popular.
SB users can't play greedy at the pallets, but they can be greedy af at the generators. I usually sit on them right until the killer forces me off, making them break chase to do it. SB is THE gen jockey perk. But clicky clicky teabag survivors don't like gens so of course it's not as popular. It also takes some thought to manage unlike DH.

If you know it's there, is it really a trap?

I still don´t know. Yeah with Lithe, ok. But you can use it only once - only once in the match.
One of the most annyoing things with DH is, you can use it every time. 3 times if you get downed every time and hooked. Way more if you manage to escape the chases and get healed (quickly).
Then it is a third health state every time.
A good SB user is still way worse than DH imo. People complaining about DH for distance when SB exists is tragic. It's gotta be like 7x the distance? DH is just the most convenient to use but the others can be just as powerful if not more.
Though I play lots of instadown killers so I am biased

All it proves is that Solo Q needs help.
I really do think solo might be in the worst spot ever. Mainly because of DMS + Pain Res creating global pressure for all killers. You can't even sit back and do a gen without getting punished cross-map for someone getting 2 tapped by a wraith or something.
At least with Pop the killer has to actually come over and boot my gen a bunch of times, now I might not even be remotely close to the action and my gen is getting kicked + DMS'd sometimes. I have literally had games where I spawn in, hold W to the nearest gen, and it gets pain res'd so many times that I actually can't even finish my first gen before someone is death hook or dead
