I agree with OP but I also agree with you on the hitting surv on the hook penalty. Then again, if the killer does that he is basically already punishing himself by wasting precious time. If the surv wastes too much tbagging, well no problem, just press E! Slugging however is a viable and sometimes necessary tactic. And even if the killers decides to let you all bleed out for the "lulz", tell how often does that actually happen? Then tell me how often do survs teaback click their flashlight.

Also I think its hilarious that you mind getting slugged as a form toxicity which barely happens but are completely okay with killers having to deal with survs toxicity literally every match.

Nothing says you can't be a toxic killer every match

  • I love playing killer. Each to their own.

You will never learn the loops unless you run them, that's facts

  • Onryo for sure. Especially if you get her on Lery's or something and she's got some passive phasing addons.

Maybe not the most threatening but definitely the most spooky in a phasmophobia sort of way. Nothing like seeing a ghost practically teleporting down a dark corridor towards you.

Playing survivor is all about getting punished for your team mates mistakes. That's why you play as a team as survivor. If you're not a team player or your team mates are not team players than yes, that should cost you the game.

    Wrong.

    Screenshot 2022-04-30 163624.png

Not working with your team is a key feature.

    Screenshot 2022-04-30 163719.png Screenshot 2022-04-30 163736.png

Why do you think we have perks like this? And from a very recent chapter too?

DBD is not a team game, not in solo Q. It can be, but typically devolves into a free-for-all once people start dying

There are lots of team games on the market and DBD is hardly one of them unless you are playing in a SWF

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2930494#Comment_2930494

That is an issue of DbD as a whole not just legion.

Think about how many times you were farmed to death by teammates or teammates luring the killer to you.

The biggest enemy of survivors is usually other survivors due to the game's design.

Not to the same extent though.

I think the most punishing for your teams mistakes would be Plague, Pinhead, Oni, Myers, Legion. Key difference being that for all of them except legion, you can still use hiding as a strategy. Which is core to DBD as it is fundamentally a hide-and-seek game.

You get Legion on a small map and if your team is crumbling you just die by default too. Why is a killer who is that strong getting completely uncounterable wallhacks on me up to like ~60meters(!!!) with addons?

Which in a game with as unbalanced matchmaking as DBD has is pretty infuriating. DBD isn't a game where you can carry a bad team, even if you are an amazing survivor the killer can just decide not to chase you and that's that. Hiding is really all you have when your team is being massacred and having that taken away too is a game killer for me. You could be the best looper in the world and it won't matter at all. I don't like losing games with no input from myself whatsoever which is why I am not playing survivor until nerfs come through.

Other games you can simply play better and win, DBD is not one of those games.

I'm really not sure what you think this shows.

Yes, hard camping people is an extremely effective strategy, which they didn't respond to correctly. Hopefully that won't be true forever.

Also - wow are you BM. I'm not sure why you insist on both hard camping people at 5 gens and hitting them on hook - I can only imagine what else you did that game. What did you hope to accomplish acting like this besides making people have less fun with the game?

LoL and DbD are difficult in different ways. I'm a lowly Gold in LoL (or was before I stopped playing it a good ways back) but the skill sets aren't really analogous and I'm not sure which I'd call more difficult. I mean...neither of these are Starcraft 2 or anything.

Ok? So you asked me how I win 90%+ of my games (probably more tbh) and I showed you exactly how I win. A survivor going down at 5 gens next to the basement is an opportunity I wasn't giving up.

PLUS, if you pay attention that Cheryl is actually looping a god window but got shut down both by bamboozle and some good bottle tosses. No mercy for that.

And that's also why I find the 4x gen block meta extremely strong. Because I can be ending the matches in minutes via tunneling. Extrapolate that gameplay to someone like Blight or Nurse, who I can play pretty well too.

No, it means you are probably better than 90% of *League of Legends* players.

Also...Otz isn't skilled. Yeah, I think this is getting to the point of silliness.

Do you happen to stream? Very curious to see some of your absolute god tier games.

That game is way harder than DBD mechanically, by a long shot.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3sgUymyFlc

Here you go I just played this, there's some toxic basement camping clown gameplay for you to criticize. Game was over in about 3.5~ minutes I wanna say; looking at the corrupt timer. First chase went super well imo. Survivors probably should have gotten a gen done but it would not have changed the outcome at all. I always hit BT when I am tunnel moring people so they can't locker DS me.

You claimed to 3k in 90% of your games, which means you are world class, tourney tier prodigy level, you're deranking or you're massively exaggerating to the point of self parody.

I'll have to scratch around Reddit, because I remember that guy and a bit of drama...maybe a year ago and him saying 'yeah, I derank off stream for more fun games'. I could be mistaken, naturally - but it's either that or he's one of the absolute best players in the world (even Otz and co. who play this game professionally don't get streaks like that).

I don't think I am exaggerating. I got to high platinum in League which means I am probably better than 90% of video game players. And in a game like DBD, where the matchmaking isn't the greatest, I enjoy a very high winrate even post MMR. I have played one game today, killed everyone at 4 gens left as Demo, and the only comment in the post game was "that was brutal"

And I hate to tell you, big =/= skilled. Otzdarva, Truetalent, etc are nowhere near the best players I have seen. I used to think Monto was the best, and I have beaten him multiple times. Now I realize he was average at best

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2929814#Comment_2929814

Isn't that the guy that admitted to deliberately deranking/dropping his MMR between sessions? If I recall it was when he was doing his Demo streaks. I know I run into the occasional obvious smurfer, where it'll be me, 3 other survivors with 60-100 hours and a 4200 hour Nurse.

If you're winning 90% of your games...yeah, I'm curious to know if you have some VODs and/or engage in a bit of deranking.

Uhh you can watch him win every game for 8 hours in a row. Don't make excuses. He says he only plays the game on stream and I am sure if you cared enough you could check the addons between games and verify that (I don't).

And why would I engage in deranking? I'm not a streamer, I have nothing to prove to anyone but myself. I have saved some VODs of me absolutely destroying people, but don't save every match because I have no reason to

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2929799#Comment_2929799

    ...

Okay, who exactly, post SBMM, is doing 100+ win streaks? I really want to see VODs, because the closest I can think of is Otz with 50 wins on Artist, and half of that was during the MMR testing.

I'm not saying that blocking isn't viable - I'm saying it has trade offs.

Maybe we're at different MMRs, because I see people trying to stealth CI constantly, generally SWF groups.

    (22) Dead By Daylight Live | 150+ Killer Winstreak - YouTube

There you go. I have no idea what MMR I am at but I probably 3k+ 90% of my games. Generally by following the same strategies as this streamer, who I have watched for years. He has gotten to an 800+ winstreak pre-MMR, without using Nurse Blight or Spirit.

Oh and he also went on a 100+ clown MMR winstreak, for all the people saying clown isn't viable

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2929769#Comment_2929769

Yes, those gens are blocked. But here's the thing:

    • You can just hide and wait out CI, which is what I'm seeing coordinated groups doing on certain maps.
    • You can work on other gens.

This often creates a 'dam' effect where it looks like you're winning, but all of the gens are at 90% and suddenly go off together.

Hard regression will always beat out blocking.

If the down happens early enough, no you cannot. And I have played the last few ~months~ and have not had a team wait out CI. I know the spawn locations on most maps, and have a good idea of where to go at the start of the game to find people. Solo Q teams are literally never going to do that. If you start a match off strong using that build, you just never lose. Why do you think people are going on 100+ winstreaks using it? Because it's weak?

If you as the killer have someone hooked, you are progressing your objective. You can still be going on chases and destroying the resources of the map. The survivors are not progressing their objective. It's almost the same effect as regression.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2929723#Comment_2929723

    Yeah, no.

PR/DMS is painfully easy to counter, Artist is the only Killer that has really good synergy with it.

PR/DMS is 15% slowdown on a single Generator. Gens don't regress while blocked, so you can’t lose any more progress than 15%. Sure, it gets blocked (if you don't play around it that is), but you can get on a different Generator and forget about it until it's Perk icon dissappears

And when it's paired with other slowdown perks? I have been doing Corrupt, Deadlock, PR, DMS and I can tell you that if I get an early down it's not uncommon to have 4-5 gens blocked at the same time.

"Painfully easy to counter" when you can play someone like Onryo, teleport across the map to someone's gen, then immediately teleport back?

    These forums I swear

I wouldn't count PTB buffs/nerfs as actual buffs/nerfs because the Killer didn't get fully released yet.

DMS isn't even that good of a Perk tbh, it only useful on Artist and maybe Nurse/Blight

    Capture.PNG

Well here is a polling of the best killer perks in DBD, so I would say hundreds of people disagree with that.

As do I. There's tons of killers who can activate DMS globally. Onryo, Freddy, Demo, Doctor, Pinhead, etc etc.

Pain Res can do it for every killer as well, and even if the survivors start playing around it by then it might even be too late.

A single pain res DMS is what, 12s from pain res and 45s from DMS. So 57 seconds of slowdown and you don't even have to go out of your way to do it. That's 3 pop goes the weasels of slowdown and you don't even have to stop what you are doing to kick a gen.

Yeah idk what they expect. You go into any popular game that has been around for many years and there is going to be overwhelming amounts of stuff to learn. Imagine going to League as a new player right now? With like 200+ characters and 4 abilities per character.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

Okay so you know how there was no Artist changes in the midchapter? And that Artist got a cosmetic that also released with the mid chapter?

Well I bough the Artist cosmetic instantly cos it's crow mom and I've been maining her since she released. The thing is though is that new killers usually get updates in the next-chapters midchapter (so artist should've been changed in this mid chapter).

Tinfoil hat time: Do you think they kept artist nerfs out of the midchapter to sell the cosmetic more, and then nerf her later on?

Maybe I'm just paranoid ever since slinger got gutted out of nowhere, but I wouldn't put it past BHVR to do something like this. It's exactly what happened with old MoM and what is happening to CoH.

Nah I don't see any real outcry about artist on the forums. I barely even see her ingame too.

DMS is more the problem rather than artist imo, it's the only thing that is broken on her

Hello? It does a better job at detecting hatch than left behind.

I still think left behind is better for hatch games. You don't really want to put your key on the ground, and sometimes left behind will save you mid-chase. Plus you need to go out of your way to find a totem, which while usually not a problem still can leave you without your perk sometimes if you get unlucky.

  • @WesCravenFan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2929581#Comment_2929581

Okay, I'm gonna have to have you put those goalposts you just tried to move and put them right back where you found them. We are talking about perks, not SWFs, facecamping, or anything to do with Bubba.

Four Survivors can each run Dead Hard, trading off chases and creating countless minutes of wasted Killer time that DRASTICALLY outstrips Killer perks. Even if we take your claim at face value and multiple that 30 second value four times (for each survivor), we come to two minutes - and Dead Hard(s) can VERY easily buy you more than two minutes - no contest.

You are telling me that killer perks don't slow down the game as much as DH. And I just told you exactly how killer perks can slow down the game enough to where you basically don't even have to play and can still win.

    Let's agree to disagree.

  • @WesCravenFan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2929566#Comment_2929566

Holy crap you keep saying objectively false things. I can understanding someone having a different OPINION, but not saying things blatantly untrue.

The game does NOT have a finite duration. At all. There is no time limit. I've seen 2 hour long hatch stand-offs. I've seen Survivors bodyblocked into corners for over 45 minutes until the Killer gave them no choice but to disconnect.

How can you possible say something as BLATANTLY untrue as "the game as a finite duration"?

Corrupt does not stop the Objective. There are 7 generators on the map. At BEST you force them to walk to different generators.

And your citation of 30 seconds is still way, WAY less time "bought" than some Dead Hard users can get.

Ruin is completely at the mercy of the totem being destroyed. It has loads of counterplay, which I already addressed in early posts.

My primary point stands and you have not refuted it:

NO KILLER PERK CAN WASTE AS MUCH GAME TIME AS DEAD HARD OVER THE COURSE OF AN ENTIRE MATCH.

The only reason this game would not have a finite duration is because people are not doing the objective.

And I said 30 seconds PER survivor. Which is probably around 2 minutes of gen time cumulatively across the team.

The game is snowball based. You can't hold up a single number and use it to prove anything. Gens fly by the fastest at the start of the game, when the killer has no hooks and no pressure. The second the killer starts getting hooks the gen progress slows down drastically.

In a 3v1 you can basically cause all gen progress to stop just by hooking 1 person and then chasing another.

And it's a pretty nutty take imo. You know I can win games by facecamping with Bubba with Corrupt, Deadlock, and NWO? Literally that's a legit 3k strategy if you get the first down in under 30-40 seconds. That's literally how much slowdown those perks introduce. Straight facecamping and still winning against SWFs.

  • @WesCravenFan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2927557#Comment_2927557

My point is that no Killer perk can buy as much time as Dead Hard.

You tried to cite Corrupt Intervention, a perk that has a literal specific, finite duration. Not to mention the fact that Corrupt doesn't actually stop the objective. You still have 3 gens you can do.

The game in general has a finite duration? And corrupt does stop the objective. Survivors in this game literally spawn on gens, sometimes all 4 of them at once. That means your clock as killer is ticking x4 1-2 seconds into the match unless you have corrupt.

Corrupt, especially on certain maps, can buy you ~30+ seconds of gen time per survivor for them to even find a gen. 30 seconds is enough to get a down with many killers. From there, the survivors now have a side objective and only 2 will be on gens potentially even 1 if multiple people go for the save because it's solo Q. So corrupt has essentially stopped almost all generator progress completely by itself.

Also, if Ruin stays up all game it can buy you like 3-4 extra gens. That's why I feel like you are trolling because anyone who has played this game should know that. Especially on a killer like Pyramid Head where you go interrupt a 90% gen with Tinkerer and then send them off to a cage on the other side of the map. The gen usually goes all the way back to 0.

It is very easy to stand still for small periods of time during chase, I do it all the time. Period. (I guess?)

You can wait at the corners of structures to see which direction the killer is approaching from (Example: Killer shack), you can stand still at certain spots in basic tiles (Example: You can wait at the pallet in Jungle Gyms) or you can wait in locations that have vaults the killer has to take to keep following (Example: The dropdown in Meat plant)

Standing still and waiting is a tactic very strong survivors will use as a countermeasure to killer movements. Some survivors just keep moving and never stop and that's how they either get mindgamed or get cutoff by good killer pathing.

Survivors should not be standing around idle during a chase I am sorry. Maybe for a second or two to check a corner and that is it. Any more and that is on you as the killer, even as an M1 killer.

If they throw a pallet, and are walking around to get the perk back while you kick it, any distance they would have gained just going to the next tile is negated

Maybe it's because I run bamboozle on my M1 killers. There is no messing around or mindgaming for 10 years or anything like that. It's throw the pallet or die.

  • @Brokenbones said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2928829#Comment_2928829

That's just not true though, I'm sorry to say

Mindbreaker's exhaustion can be walked off in the middle of a chase very easily. Especially, once again against M1 killers.

All a survivor has to do is go around a corner or drop a pallet and there you go - their third health state is back. Hell I could make the argument it helps people using Sprint Burst more than it actually hinders them.

All exhaustion related addons have been nerfed, too - a change which while I agree with, limits options.

My opinion: Dead Hard is the problem, not exhaustion perks. Getting hit with a Lithe or a Balanced landing doesn't feel anywhere close to the level of cheap as DH does and I'm someone who thinks Dead Hard is borderline required against certain killers due to how oppressive their powers are.

I don't know which M1 killers you are playing but it's not something that bothers me anymore. Clown it barely impacts half the time, especially since they are slowed enough they can dead hard your swing and it actually will still hit them.

I also don't know what you are doing in a chase but a survivor should never have time to walk for 5 seconds. Period. They throw pallets, vault windows, or die when I am chasing people.

Last time I played Wraith I was cheesing with mindbreaker and blood favor and was collecting totally free downs at generators until BF got cleansed.

I have so many exhaust addons on ghostface I will probably never see a DH again on him.

I play lots of Bubba and survivors using DH is actually a buff since they just get chainsawed at full health instead of having an actual useful exhaustion perk.

And finally, I play lots of Blight and he doesn't care 1 bit about DH. I would argue you need it to even have a prayer against him at some loops.

  • @Brokenbones said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2928819#Comment_2928819

I think the people who primarily play M1 killers (Like myself) would highly disagree with you that they can "just deal with" DH. DH hurts m1 killers the most out of any type of killer in the game

And you talk about 4 slowdown perks but you gotta remember 4 slowdown perks on an m1 killer is not the same as 4 slowdown perks on Nurse or Blight. You can run 4 gen defense related perks on Trapper and get stomped pretty easily

The perks, killers, addons, and playstyles needed to counter DH are already in the game. Whether or not you choose to utilize them is up to you. Some day people will stop complaining and think, hmmm, maybe cutting a chase 30-40 seconds shorter because I used mindbreaker is an option instead of scourge hook pain res + DMS?

But knowing these forums, that day will never come. It is easier to stack meta perks and complain instead of thinking for themselves.

  • @Brokenbones said:

I've got a few random ideas

One thing would be either changing an existing perk or making a new one that inflicts exhausted to survivors who take protection hits. This punishes altruistic survivors and makes them an easier target for you to switch to at the same time

I don't know if this would be good something like Forced Penance because I think some ppl really dig the broken status effect but yeah I think it would be really good for m1 killers who struggle with survivors who are smart and take hits

I dunno, most M1 killers have fine ways to deal with DH.

All stealth killers can use mindbreaker very effectively, since they can start chases right at the generators.

Legion can use blood echo since he injures everyone for free anyways.

Myers is just 1 shotting people. Ghostface has straight up exhaust addons now, and he is 1 shotting people.

Pig has exhaust helmets. Trapper...well he should be getting downs with traps in theory then camping the hook.

Clown's slowdown can negate DH for distance a lot of the time.

I think the only one who really gets screwed by it would be doc. The rest have a pretty good answer, it's just if the killer players can tear themselves away from 4 slowdowns and use a different perk instead of whining about exhaustion lol

This post is a master class in saying "I want to play against a bot" without saying "I want to play against a bot"

    • "too strong for how easy they are to play" - Right, because a killer with no anti-loop, a power that can be completely turned off by a survivor stunning them, dodging hits, or just running away is just TOO EASY.
    • "I don't like being so heavily punished for my team's mistakes" - Because this is a single player game, where every part of the game depends on you and you alone. Why should one person get punished just because their team is falling apart in this Team-Based Game?
    • "if I get exposed, it's my own fault" - This game already puts WAY too many killer powers in the hands of the survivors. You understand you're playing against a person, right? That their input into the game needs to, on some level, supersede your input? This isn't Dark Souls, where any time you get hit, it's because you failed to do something. That's not how multiplayer games work.
    • "mend mend mend" - I mean, heaven forbid any aspect of this game stop you from sitting on a generator with your toggled M1 button engaged for the duration of the match. A killer power that requires a whole 12 seconds of doing something other than gens? What a slog!

How about I want to play against a killer that doesn't both get my location and injure me completely for free without counterplay? Hah.

There's so many stronger killers than legion that I have no problems with at all. But the fact any boosted animal can pick up legion and get hits for free is such horrid gameplay design. Especially in a game that can give you no good pallets sometimes.

Awful, awful character design. And the fact the mending is atrocious too doesn't help. I will take Nurse or Blight over him any day, at least those have counterplay to the power. Legion is why I won't play play solo Q anymore. It's SWF or killer, forget it.

  • @Laluzi said:

Does anyone actually think Legion is strong now? Yeah, they've got a great information game, but the killer knowing where you are is only half the battle. Or a quarter of the battle. Legion's power won't help them get downs unless the survivors are horribly positioned. "Don't group up against" Legion is nothing new, it's just a little more strictly enforced nowadays.

The rework essentially consisted of a really good addon pass, a few QoL buffs, and one powerful gimmick that will generally not see the light of day against smart survivors. And really awesome music. Beneath that, they're still the Legion. Annoying to play against, but not good.

With the MMR the way it is, they are more than good. Your typical solo Q potato's get bodied by Wraith, let alone being permanently exposed by legion.

I would not touch survivor with a 10 foot pole right now. I will deal with the 4 stacks as killer instead of solo Q vs. legion.

Just another ill fated decision by BHVR on the way back to like 20k players on steamcharts.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2928538#Comment_2928538

Thing is - yes, most people would rather face Ghostface now than Legion, because Ghostface is much easier to beat, as his 'buffs' came out at a wash. Legion requires a bit of foresight.

It's the same as people preferring to face Pig as opposed to Nurse, or Sadako as opposed to Spirit.

It has nothing to do with the power level of the killer. It has to do with what my experience as survivor is going to be. I already hold M1 enough as it is, having to hold M1 even more due to a borderline uncounterable hit is a snoozefest. Takes no skill either. I think I would rather get camped by a Bubba because at least running away from a chainsaw will be exciting.

  • Too strong for how easy they are to play imo. And some of the addons are just dumb and remove all counterplay. Also I don't like being so heavily punished for my team's mistakes.

I much prefer a killer like Ghostface where if I get exposed its my own fault and not because Joe-Schmoe got stabbed 40m away and now the legion knows my position.

Also the gameplay is such a slog. Mend, mend, mend, can't save because I'm injured, thanatophobia so im holding M1 for an eternity no matter what, etc etc.

Avoiding survivor until they get nerfed or the craze dies down

I don't really have an issue with blinks being short. I more have an issue with getting auto aimed so much.

I just cba with learning all the new maps and geometry on her. Plaid flannel + range Nurse for life.

When I learned her it was before the massive nerfs so you could actually get tons of blinks in and not be so punished for missing them. Now she just feels awful to play even if your average experience is curbstomping the survivor team.

There's also no real tricks or techs or anything that makes her gameplay particularly deep. Flannel takes all the guesswork out for me, which is good cause I only play her for dailies now.

  • Couple weeks, but after that you have to play her regularly.

No, it's not worth getting good at unless you wanna play her a ton.

Even once you are good at her, the gameplay involves stunning yourself 50% of the match and raging that your blink got stopped 1cm short by a rock or something.

Getting good at blight is the play. He's got way more fun addons too. Nurse addons are mostly resident sleeper, same with the killer herself tbh.

I would say wait a few months after it gets its nerf for survivors to actually get good and use resources sparingly other than pre throw then dh to a window.

I would say they are gonna SB off the gen to start the chase then start pre-throwing or throwing after 1-2 loops. That's what I do, hah. I love SB fixated because it's value every single chase as well as a really decent amount of stealth. And you can hide in odd places and not even get punished for being found.

I am not sure killers would enjoy the immersed sprint burst meta.

  • You were 99% stalked

I will agree with you on this one, but, if I mentioned'em, it means that they were indeed juicers.

I'd much rather get some survs that are trying to have fun / meme than tryhards tho

Sure but I have seen 300-400 hour players who were way better than ones with 3000-4000. It just depends on the skill level of the player.

I don't think you are going to garner much sympathy by saying you are maining the strongest killers in the game. The mid-tier killers are perfectly viable against all but the sweatiest SWFs. And even the lower tier killers can still pick up a 2k.

In fact you might get better results playing a more straightforward killer. I find killers like Nurse / Blight exhausting to play after a few matches. Whereas someone like Bubba / Clown I can play for hours because they don't require such precise inputs for every single damage state.

  • @MrPengujn said:

Also, I never said that my skill ain't a problem, it is, that's why the mmr system is supposed to put me with players that are on the same level as me, it fails to do that.

Hours mean nothing. I have seen plenty of 3-4k+ hour potato's. I had a prestige 3 legacy Dwight (legit too, checked his profile) in my game the other day.

He was running up the ante, slippery meat, and 2 other meme perks I forget when I checked his build at the end of the game

There is lots of variety in my games.

Am I hitting them with the mallet while they are getting facecamped?

Maybe I am chainsawing them while they are getting facecamped?

Or maybe I am in a chill mood, and am content with staring at them while they are getting facecamped?

Plus 99ing survivors is hit and run on steroids. They're a milisecond away from being downed and they can't heal damage they don't have yet. He can snowball like crazy. Someone comes in for a bodyblock not knowing they're 99'd and boom

Yeah, now the only question is....which build to run on him? I feel like he needs two information perks. One for the early game to find out where to go, and then one to figure out where to go after you hook someone. Then maybe one chase perk, which only leaves room for a single slowdown which is a bit spooky.

  • I don't think legion needs any more buffs

Agreed. I don't know what in the world people are doing with Ghostface, but stalking is perfectly viable. Even if you don't get an ambush, you have a super long exposed effect.

Beats me. He is a killer that requires a lot of map knowledge to stalk effectively so I assume a lot of people playing him don't have that.

I am super happy with the changes myself. Even with a few browns you can basically be old ghostface with green recovery and 70 seconds of exposed? 70 seconds is forever in DBD and you could be using that for zoning people just as much as actually downing them

"None of these really require any effort on the killer's part"

You literally just cited two perks that only activate on a hook. Jesus Christ, man.

Yeah hooking survivors takes a lot of effort. It's not your primary objective as the killer or anything.

That's like saying a perk that requires survivors to do a gen to activate requires extra effort.

Yeah SB is a big problem for GF. Typically this is resolved by figuring out who has SB, and just 99ing them. Start the chase, wait out the SB, expose and swing. The 5 seconds of exhaustion is kinda the inverse of this strategy, get as close as possible, expose them, and then go for the chase. Seems to be quite situational but its better than nothing.

The Night Vision strat is actually pretty good and I hadn't thought of it.

Perfume + belt are just bad overall.

DL is just meh. You still have to 99 and close the distance to get value.

Nah that's too late, at least against the survivors I usually play against. If the SB has been used at all they are already at a safe tile and can begin the looping. I would be using the addon to stop them ever using the exhaustion perk in the first place. They get marked and then are stuck at whatever tile / deadzone they are at.

Perfume I think will be good for camping hooks. Since it means you can hover around the hook without them being able to break you out.

And yeah the night vision one stopping DH could be really, really good with Olsen's wallet since you could hit them, instantly recover it at a pallet, and then get revealed and get rid of the DH basically right off the bat

What is an "automatic gen perk"?

Are you trying to say Ruin? Which can be ignored by not letting go of a gen and ignoring it? Or even getting cleansed before it does anything?

Or do you mean Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance? Which is a flat 15% and all regressing can be avoided by.... taking your finger off the gen before the hook happens, and putting it back on?

Or did you mean Corrupt Intervention, which doesn't stop you from doing gens at all, it just blocks the furthest ones?

Or did you mean Pop Goes The Weasel? Which is a flat 25% and requires you to hook ever single time, putting a fine number of uses on it?

I'm not seeing any perk here that will consistently waist 3, 4, 5 or even more minutes of the game's time all by itself. Your team would have to be SO BAD for any of these to outperk Dead Hard, that it is no longer a perk issue.

I am saying Deadlock. I am saying Pain Res. Dead Man's Switch. Ruin Undying. None of those really require any effort on the killers part beyond Ruin. Especially with certain builds where DMS can consistently be activated globally.

If you are going to sit here and tell me Corrupt is a bad perk and doesn't slow down the game, I honestly don't know what to say to that. It probably buys you the most time out of any killer slowdown perk bar Ruin staying up the whole game. It gives you the breathing room to get your first hook in a game that is heavily snowball reliant.

And then saying Pop is bad? "Finite number of uses" when it's a finite game. By the time you can't use pop anymore it's because people are dead and gens don't matter anymore.

And saying Ruin can't buy you minutes of extra gen time? What? You must be trolling?

That is the issue with Coh regardless of the healing speed they can heal themselves which gives you barely any pressure, the time you used to hit the survivor is basicly nullified by the ability to self heal, especially if it is infinit with Coh.

Injuring survivors used to be strong, why? Because they needed a second person that has to get off the gen to heal them OR they used self care which is a -1 perk for a 32 sec self heal which also benefits you as Killer.

Because of one single Coh ALL survivors can self heal without using up an perk slot. I really dont get why so many ppl dont see this simple fact lol

Because it's still time wasted. You are on a clock as the killer anyways, I don't see why you should be expecting permanent pressure without actually downing people. With hit and run your first hits should barely take much from you. Wraith, Sadako, Demo, Hag, etc can all do the playstyle fine now.

Hitting someone and them taking, what, ~40 seconds to heal now? That's literally half a gen of time wasted for your hit, and that's not including travel time to the boon, and the time someone wasted finding and blessing that totem. Considering on someone like Hag the time invested for that is literally 1 second to set the trap and then 1 second to teleport to it and hit it.

It's fine, self care is garbage for a reason. Giving the entire team self care is honestly a good thing as the killer.

  • I can't believe people are still in here complaining about CoH. I think it can actually benefit the killer at this point. Especially with sloppy it now takes an eternity to heal and you have survivors wasting tons of time rebooning after you kick it.

Usually I would rather hit someone and they go all the way across the map for a super slow self heal rather than them just keep sitting on the gen with iron will.

  • A few of her add-ons need to be basekit imo. Old newspaper + bloody fingernails would be a good start. That would give her at least a modicum of anti-loop which she desperately needs.

And yeah no lullaby. She is nowhere near strong enough to justify having a lullaby imo.

Increased time to put a tape in a TV too. Maybe a second or so. You should not be able to get condemned and then literally put the tape into the TV in Sadako's face between attacks lmao.

I do hope they buff her because she is arguably one of the spookiest killers, which DBD could use more of.

A good way to put the power of Dead Hard into perspective is this:

Make note of when you swing at a Survivor that 100% would have gone down if they did not Dead Hard.

NOW, start a timer. Use Alexa, have a clock next to you, or count out loud or in your head. See how many seconds it takes before that Survivor goes down again.

    Got that number?

That is how much time Dead Hard bought the entire Survivor team that game.

Now do that again every single time Dead Hard is used in a match.

Absolutely no Killer perk in the game has that much power. None. Zero. It's asinine.

What about how killers can run 4 automatic gen perks? Literally, no input required and you still get tons of artificial time injected into the game.

Killers have perks that extend gen times, survivors have perks that extend their life times. What is the issue here?

Two brown addons are good now. The rest are bad.

Some of the yellow addons are good like Olsen's Address Book and Telephoto Lens. The rest suck.

Olsen's Wallet is good. I think it's the only good green addon but its situational.

His purps and Iris suck though. Only good one is as you stated Drop-leg.

For a rework this was really lackluster.

Sprint burst is a massive problem for Ghostface. Being able to negate it partially is an amazing addon. Literally spending 10-20 seconds marking someone and then they sprint burst / lithe / BL / etc to safety and start a regular chase is actually one of the worst things that can happen to you as ghostface. Doing the mark and then just downing them with your 5 seconds of exhaustion is huge. I actually consider ghostface one of the best fearmonger users purely because of how hard sprint burst hurts him.

With Night vision monocular you can probably bait dead hard too. Even if you mess up the stalk. M1 them, catch back up, and then reshroud and let them reveal you to get rid of the dead hard lmao.

Lasting perfume will probably be really good for camping. Knife belt I guess you could get to a 16m terror radius while crouched with monitor, though not 100% sure what the point of that would be yet.

Drivers License will probably be really good on a big map. Only being able to be revealed at 24m is a pretty close range, and should mean you can stalk with impunity from a distance, even if they know you are there.

What addons do you like using? Most of them are pretty bad imo.

They literally took some of his old best addons, like his iri and his green recovery, and made them browns. All his browns are fantastic.

He can equip straight up wallhacks with a yellow. Olsen's wallet is great. The rest of the greens seem kinda niche although 10% increased crouched speed is probably something I will use a lot.

Drop-leg Knife sheath is great, especially at short loops you can expose someone and use the speed boost to down them at what would normally be a safe pallet.

Outdoor security camera is great, mapwide wallhacks.

He even has exhaust addons. Nothing was worse than sneaking up on someone, marking them, and then they sprint burst away. Now he will pretty much counter all exhaustion perks if he wants.

I have not used Drivers License yet but it could be really good if it actually works now (it was bugged before). You can stalk at up to 40m but can only be revealed at 24m, it could help a ton on wide open maps.

  • @Blueberry said:

Pallets are so excessive on maps that you can just pre throw them all and have the gates open before you run out because that pre throwing prevented the killer from getting any pressure. This is also effective because way, way too many pallets in the game are just safe pallets without any mind game. Many of them you just have to break, you can't actually attempt to play them.

Depends what killer you are playing. Some of the strongest killers eat pallets like candy, and you literally need the god pallets to even have a chance to survive. Nemesis, Bubba, Blight, and even well played Demo's and Billies all need to be force fed pallets or you just die hideously with little to do about it.
