I didn't get one either, could you share the tweet please?

People do realise that BHVR is a business right?
They’re not laying people off because they’re evil and don’t care, they’re laying people off because either the roles have become redundant or it’s not economically feasible to keep them on.
Losing a job sucks, especially one you like, so my sympathies go out to those affected. But all the outrage over this is nonsensical.
-
This would be neat.

no I haven’t seen any official statements regarding Sadako in DbD and really am not that much into the source materials at all..
Though wasn’t it Samara in the Ring movie and not Sadako?
wasn’t it Samara in the Ring movie
That would be “The Ring” (2002).
Ring (1998) is the movie that’s popularly called “Ringu”.

Low-key this actually looks good, they should consider giving her some shorts with this pattern after they fix the bug.

well, Susie got confirmed to be attracted to women in the comics I think.
Also there are licensed characters that are LGBTQ+, Sadako, Chatterer, I guess the Crypt TV legendary chars
Also there are licensed characters that are LGBTQ+, Sadako,
Have the developers said that DbD’s version of Sadako is intersex?I know the developers said the chapter was based on the original story, but as an avid fan of the novels I can confirm nothing from the novels actually made it into the chapter.
Most of the chapter is pulled from Ring (1998) and the rest, such as adult Yoichi, was made by BHVR.
Ring (1998) diverges quite significantly from the 1991 novel of the same name, including dropping sex and gender as prominent themes. In fact, the entire motivation for Sadako being thrown down the well is rewritten in the movie and no mention of her intersex status is ever made.
I’d like to think she is intersex in DbD — not least because the novel plot lines are criminally under-utilised in most adaptations — but I can’t find any evidence that they actually retained her AIS.
I’d LOVE to get a tome for Sadako to clear this up and explore her story more, but I don’t think they’ll do it to be honest. Sadako and Yoichi don’t get much in the way of cosmetics.

It's a tie between Ring or Spiral, both by Suzuki Kōji.

Hag and Wraith no, Nurse and Artist yes.

Here's hoping they actually rework her instead of just tweaking her power
Please. I've been saying she needs completely overhauled since her first PTB. I feel like a broken record at this point.
-
She's still horribly unfun to go against. Takes absolutely zero skill to play. Just M2 and deny every loop. Complete snooze fest.
-
Please no.
The tombstone add-ons should be axed entirely, definitely not incorporated into the basekit.
-
I don't like these perks because they're just so boring.
The "Do X and gain Haste for 10 seconds" formula has been done ad nauseum at this point.

That would be the exact opposite of what i said.
Respectfully, this is all a load of waffle.
Holding W and S in a videogame is not sexual harassment, and advocating for it to be taken as such demeans actual victims of harassment.

Its not a matter of perception. Its a matter of meaning.
No it isn't.
This is literally the definition of looking for things to be offended by.

I dont care whatveer person it says. They think thats the deal and everybody can see the resemblence of this action. Its trying to harassment, there is nothing to discuss. If you think you can excuse such behaviour, its up to you. But we live in 2024.
But we live in 2024.
Regrettably.

I won't go into specifics, but regardless of how silly it may seem, it can be considered sexual harassment. I enjoy humor, but there are boundaries that should be respected.
Let's not demean serious topics by comparing them to emoting in a video game.
-
Springtrap is very controversial around here due to incessant spamming over the years. It got so bad that the topic of FNaF had to be completely banned from the DbD subreddit for a time. DbD has pulled off goofy and horror-adjacent content before, so I'm sure they could make FNaF work. But if I'm honest, I don't want them to ever include it because of how poorly the fans act towards the DbD community.
As for Slenderman, I'd imagine it'd be tricky to get the rights. There's the question of who actually owns Slenderman, and also the stabbing that happened…
-
No.
Teabagging, hitting on hook, nodding, moving back and forth, etc. are not bannable offenses.
-
This is an intended feature — not a bug.
Being AFK for an entire match is counted the same as a DC by the system and penalised as such.
-
no one says anything when skull merchant has these annoying drones
Huh? Skull Merchant has been a hot topic for like a whole year at this point. People are constantly complaining about Skull Merchant. On the forums, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, and I'm sure other places too.
-
The Chapter has absolutely nothing to do with Stranger Things though.
-
I'm just not convinced there's a huge overlap in DbD fans and D&D fans.
-
Just happened to me too.
-
Platform: PC
Description: Loaded up DbD two minutes ago and got the pop-up that the season had ended and Grades were being reset. I didn't pay attention to exactly how much BPs I was supposed to get. I think it was around 400,000 for my killer Grade — can't remember what my survivor one was though.
I go look at my BPs and I have 2 million — the cap. Out of habit, I only ever spend my bloodpoints to around 1.8 million, so I should have at least 2.2 million from the Grade reset points. But it seems like they haven't applied properly.
Reproduce: N/A
Frequency: The first time this has happened to me.
-
Same exact thing just happened to me. I was already at the cap so I just got no BPs… :(
-
Do you think it's bad no matter what?
Very few things in this game are bad in all circumstances. Even things that get a bad reputation (e.g. running Self-Care, using Potential Energy, healing under hook, stealth, etc.) are favourable in some situations.
Healing under hook is generally okay, even without We'll Make It, so long as the killer is occupied or sufficiently far away. Of course, if the killer has shown throughout the match that they return to the hook, healing there would be a bad decision. It's one of those things that really needs to be evaluated on a match-by-match basis. In my experiences though, you can usually get away with healing under the hook — especially with We'll Make It.
-
Turn off the TV and you won't be racking up stacks.
-
Performance has definitely taken a hit recently.
-
What was peer to peer like?
A mixed bag:
- If everyone in the match had good connections, then it went much more smoothly than current-day dedicated servers. With P2P, the host of the match (the killer) could literally be next door to you. With dedicated servers, your nearest server could be in a different country.
- On the other hand, when killers had a bad connection, everyone would lag as a result. Some killers would take advantage of this to effectively teleport around the map, get hits from far away, disconnect players from the match etc. and others just had bad internet with no nefarious intent (but it was still frustrating nonetheless). Around 18 minutes into this video is an example of a Nurse taking advantage of the old P2P system.
If the Killer quit at the end, would you keep your points?
Generally, yes. There was an issue for a while where the game would tell you that you'd got no points, depipped, and lost your item after a killer DCed, although when you went back to the lobby you hadn't actually lost anything. Every now and then though you would just lose your stuff. A bug I guess.
What happened when the moonlight offers were removed? Did players get bloodpoints compensation?
No. They just became retired. I still have some in my inventory. They're just unable to be equipped.

As said in my post, whether devs of a game allow something or not is utterly irrelevant to the definition of cheating. Many people misuse the word cheating in the terms you are referencing but it is technically cheating. Just because lots of people use a word incorrectly in majority doesn't mean that all the sudden that's the new definition, it just means the majority are using it incorrectly.
This is not how language works. If the majority of a population understand a word to mean a certain thing, then the dictionary definition is what is irrelevant. It's called semantic change. Words change meanings all the time due to misunderstandings, appropriation, reappropriation, translations, etc.

Your logic here is basically: The devs cannot prevent you from using filters so they cannot forbid it, therefore it is allowed and not an unfair advantage.
This doesn not make much sense to me. You also could argue using macros which always rotate you towards a survivor, or perfomrs the blight S swing for you would not be cheating. Personally I think everything that you do manually outside the game to gain an ingame advantage is essentially cheating.
If you are having trouble seeing something because you are playin on tv or have a lot of sunlight thats a different story. But every change activly done outside ingame settings are not in the sense of sportmanship to meYou're misunderstanding what I've said.
I'm making two separate points:
- I don't believe filters to be cheating.
- Even if they were cheating, nothing can be done about it — so I don't understand why this discussion gets brought up every couple of weeks on the forums/X/Reddit/Steam/etc.
I'm not saying I think filters are permissible because the developers can't forbid them.
-
No. Filters aren't cheating, and even if the developers deemed them so, it would be completely unenforceable. So the whole debate around whether they are or aren't cheating is pretty moot IMO.

Goodmorning friend!
The definition of cheating is actually an "unfair advantage". This would generally make them synonymous unless it was giving you an unfair "disadvantage".
People tend to use the word cheating in relation to whether or not the devs of a game allow it, however them allowing it or not has actually nothing to do with cheating by definition.
If the developers of a game allow something then it really isn't cheating. That's taking the definition too literally and not allowing any room for pragmatism.
-
Yeah things look off. Like the maps feel grainier and hazy almost. I don’t like it.
-
Comp DbD can and does work (see DbD League), but it requires a very artificial environment and heaps and heaps of rules, bans, and restrictions to do so.

My thoughts too. Every version of this perk has been bad, but the first one was at least somewhat serviceable.

Do you actually believe this is intended to be used as surrender or leave button
I don't think so
Whether it's "functioning" as intended or not, if end result is something unintentional it'd still be an exploit
If you don't like the feature being used in that way, that's fine. I don't like my teammates giving up either. But it's not an exploit or tech, and advocating for its removal on that basis isn't a sound argument.
-
I’ve ran into three blatant cheaters this past month. Two are now banned.
I’ve suspected a couple more of being subtle cheaters but can’t say for certain.

You can exploit the panalty for missing skillchecks and unhooking attempt to quickly leave the match
What? That’s not a tech, it’s intentional design.
Is not saying it’s good or bad or whether it should stay, but calling it a tech or an exploit is just incorrect considering the mechanic functions exactly as intended.
-
What is this tech?
-
It’s meh for me. Nice that they’re improving it a little, but really DbD’s monetisation is still unacceptable for a paid game.
-
So-so. It’s her RE2R design so I’m not really interested in it. I’d rather they went with the og look.
-
I miss camping
You can still do it; nothing is stopping you. The AFC mechanic only hurt facecamping. Proxy-camping is still completely viable.
there were a lot of fun things like Billy or buba sitting next to th hook with undetectable and waiting for the next person.
Fun for you but obnoxious for everyone else in the match. I'm not sad this is gone and hope it never returns.
-
Boil Over should be completely reworked.
It’s just a nuisance perk that’s used for trolling.
-
I didn't get this question.
I'm getting pretty tired of not being able to respond to the questions I'm actually interested in…
-
Not going to happen.
