Not super sure why you would play Survivor in this event tbh.
Like, other than playing with friends, why would you? You get less BP, less cool powers, most of the Tricks aren't super good for you, lots of people are sweating or throwing for archives etc etc
Not super sure why you would play Survivor in this event tbh.
Yeah I've learned this the hard way.
-
Yeah I'm done with this event. It's literally EVERY game at this point.
I'm normally a completionist when it comes to challenges and cosmetics but I'm over it.

I dont get why its always the killers ruining events plenty of games i've had like 3 BNPS with gens flying in 5 cobbler games while survivors wait at EGC every event its always the killers just look at this how come this is ok? And please don't go "oh you were playing spirit so your argument is invalid blah blah blah"

I did follow up my original post by saying I’m sure there are plenty of unpleasant survivors too. I’m just not experiencing that hence why I didn’t post about that.
Your experience isn’t any less valid, it’s just different from mine.

That is straight up a nasty person. I'm sorry that you and your team had to experience this.
You can expect nothing but good chases and BOOP'S from my Stbfl + bloodwarden Piggy. (if I can find some time to play dbd when shadow of the erdtree let's me go...
Propably not.)
I've seen my fair share of unpleasant people on both sides. Some people just can't help themselves.
I've seen my fair share of unpleasant people on both sides
Yeah I’m sure there are just as many bad apples on the survivor side too. I guess I’ve just have had the fortune not to run into them as of late.

By the way, talking about the survivor experience, the first survivor game of today in this mode where I wasn't tunneled out at 5 gens I had 2 of my teammates cooperate with the killer and leading him to me, teabagging while I was on hook. As if this mode attracts the worst kinds of people for both sides.
As if this mode attracts the worst kinds of people for both sides
Yes, you’re probably right. I guess I’ve just been mostly lucky that I haven’t ran into any major issues with survivors lately.

@Junylar said:
This anniversary is an absolute cringefest. Queue up to finish all the challenges, and never queue up in this mode again. To be fair I don't even want to queue up there as a killer, since I mostly play Nurse now, and survivor powers strongly counter her, especially the haste power, which makes them immune for her blinks.
Queue up to finish all the challenges, and never queue up in this mode again
That’s my current game plan. I found the killer ones pretty easy but doing the survivor challenges has just been painful.
-
I'm having the same issue on survivor maybe every 5 or so matches. I go a good few matches with no issues and then I'm rubberbanding at every window vault :/
-
This would be very handy.
-
Mixed opinions:
- The event abilities are too skewed in favour of killers. The survivor ones — particularly window block and party pallets — aren't useful in the average chase. Quiet mode is nice but doesn't compare to remote break and remote hook. Remote break is basically a free hit at a lot of loops, and remote hook was poorly implemented. It shouldn't counter saves or DS.
- The cosmetics — as usual — are great. Really nice that we got some licensed outfits too. I'm a big fan of Pig's masquerade outfit.
- Tryks is cool! I really like her dialogue and seeing her in the match.
- Tryks's tricks (that's a tongue twister) range from fun (I'm quite fond of the haste one and party totems) to just being a nuisance. The heal and exposed one is particularly annoying and often changes the entire tide of the match.
- The Bloodpoints from all the Cobblers are great.
-
I'm yet to see killer get anything above +50% incentive for the event.
-
Agreed completely.
-
Erm… what a bizarre decision.
I actually don’t really know what to say about it. It’s just such an odd effect now. When would this ever come into play?
-
No. Absolutely never.
Free to play = hackers.

It's disrespect basically because It's only said when you lose the game, and the other side wins. How many times on average do you see "GG WP" when you stomp the other side? Probably not much. But if X side stomps you, then It's almost always "GG WP".
That's the whole point of my post is to call these A wipes out. It's so annoying seeing GG when it was clear that the other side only reserves it for when they won. It's so annoying seeing GG when it was clear that the other side only reserves it for when they won.
Yesterday I spent most of my matches playing survivor and the only "gg" I got was in a match against Pinhead where my teammate DCed 30 seconds into the match after Pinhead found the box.
Played against the same person later on (they were Singularity this time) and got a 3 man out. Their only kill came from hook trading in end game. Guess what they said in chat? Absolutely nothing.

that's all the proof I need that people are not being forthcoming about their intentions here.
it seems like it bothers you… enough to judge everyone saying it.
I’m judging those saying it based on the observation of when it’s said, not my emotional response to it being said.
Not sure how you’ve even came to this conclusion. My reasoning is pretty clear.

no it didn't. it was always short for good game. what are you even on?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3742189#Comment_3742189
try not seeing it as anything beyond someone saying good game. it's the same as offering a hand shake after a game. just good sportmanship.

so f* off with that crap.
YOU have an issue with losing. doesn't mean everyone does.
Everyone here was crushed when that happened. the players still accepted the hand shakes and hugs because they know that when someone does that, they aren't just being an #########.
now. pay the money.
maybe you only pay attention when it bothers you…
I would hardly say it bothers me, it’s just an observation. I win, people don’t say it. I lose, suddenly it’s a “gg wp” scenario. 🤷♂️

Not accepting a GG is the sign of a sore loser.
If you can't accept defeat gracefully then you're going to suffer a positive feedback loop of negativity, and everything will look like poor sportsmanship.
Not accepting a GG is the sign of a sore loser.
It's perfectly valid to be sore after some losses.
Many DbD matches are rigged from the start simply based upon who brought what. Saying "good game" after a match where one side never stood a chance is absolutely bad manners.
Edit: Not to mention things like early DCs/suicides that completely throw the game for the survivors. "good game" is inappropriate here.

I get games where i go extra hard because survivors go extra hard, or i just had a game where i felt miserable. It happens to all of us so yeah, it does.
It happens to all of us
No it doesn't. Why would I turbo tunnel and ruin a bunch of random players' matches just because I had a bad match previously? That would just feel spiteful.
-
@Souplet said:
Did you ever consider that i don't want to waste time farming bp with you ?
I dont want to sit here and watch you do gens ?
I usually play fair, going for 12 hooks if i can and if the pace of the game permits it. If i see that i got 2 hooks with 2 gens done, yeah, im gonna try a little harder because im at a clear disadvantage and i still want to win
Sometimes, it happens that i stumble on the same person multiple times. Thats unlucky but i wont just ignore you and go to the other side of the map to hope to find someone (i do it when game is clearly one sided and i want to have some fun).
I'll give you hatch if i feel like giving you hatch.
It's not being a douchebag, its just playing the game. I play in the event mode because i find it fun. It doesn't mean that i want tofool around for 20 min, i want to actually play.
Don't expect people to play as you want them to. Expect them to play how the games allows it.
I usually play fair, going for 12 hooks
Then this post is obviously not referring to you?

In this first game we see the player's eyes gouged out and hanging out of a Freddy suit
The game is literally rated 12. You absolutely do not see anyone's eyes get gouged out.
There are human eyes hanging out of the Freddy suit. But once again, we do not actually SEE them get pushed out of anyone's head and the final presentation is so cartoonish and lacking any actual blood that you'd be forgiven for thinking they're just plastic and part of the costume.
I'll reiterate. FNaF is rated 12. It's suitable for tweens and teens. They absolutely could not get away with the level of violence you're saying the game contains.

Oh my bad apparently R-Rated footage was shot, but plans to release a cut with that footage were canned.
I guess it really does depend on Scott's stance on M-Rated games…
Then again, it's not like Dead By Daylight is that much gorey than a FNAF game (A REAL FNAF game, not Security Breach), it's not like it's straight up Mortal Kombat 1 with Liu Kang sucking people's entrails out via black hole. And Scott is big on fanservice, and is perfectly aware of how many people want Springtrap in the game.I'd imagine the "The game is Rated M!" was more in response to people who wanted a Scooby Doo or Ghostbusters chapter (Both of which I still kinda want, but I understand why it's not likely.. as much as I want to re-enact the fanfilm Freddy Vs. Ghostbusters)
it's not like Dead By Daylight is that much gorey than a FNAF game
This is not true at all.
Most of the violence in the original FNaF games is left to the imagination. I.e. it's implied or happens in a retro graphics style where there's simply not enough detail to warrant being described as gory.
Compare that to DbD, which explicity shows people having their fingers cut off, tongues ripped out, put on meat hooks, etc.
-
If "GG WP" isn't intended as a taunt then why do I ONLY ever see it when I lose? And lose hard at that.
Noone ever says this in a match I win, and that's all the proof I need that people are not being forthcoming about their intentions here.

You can read the things people say about Skull Merchant and see how much of it just isn't true.
I recognise that simply brushing off repeated complaints immediately and without consideration would be a bad thing, and absent context it might look like I'm doing that, but at some point you have to call a spade a spade. Common sentiments aren't automatically correct just because they're common, and people aren't always rational, especially in large groups. At some stage that does just have to be acknowledged.
Enjoy your bot matches 😂

I'm not relitigating why the hate for Skull Merchant is irrational, that explanation is out there if you care to find it.
I'm pointing out that this isn't a Skull Merchant problem, at least not for me. I'm also seeing a ton of survivors give up on first hook, and I've only played Merchant once this event.
the hate for Skull Merchant is irrational
The hate for Skull Merchant is entirely warranted and the fact that SM players will STILL try and brush everyone off as irrational despite being unable to play a normal match is absolutely hilarious.

Not a huge fan of it either. I don't think it's bad, it's just not my cup of tea.

Idk about that, regardless of which country it is, it is always possible for nationalism to be used for bigotry. As someone else in this thread has stated, if I saw someone using the Israeli flag in any game atm, Iwould feel that the driving force behind them using that flag wouldn't just be simple national pride.
Iwould feel
And herein lies the problem. Immediately assuming malice behind everything must get exhausting.

Too early to say IMO. I'm sure they'll adjust them if it turns out they're too time-consuming.
-
If you're going to play a killer like Skull Merchant whose every iteration has been almost universally hated then you kind of need to expect this.

Kind of not loving it to be honest.

All of them except for Aestri’s adept.

Ehhh disagree. I’d rather they keep the ability to redeem the ones you want.

Mostly the issue there is that it isn't really a majority, it's just a common sentiment. Also, there are a lot of common sentiments that aren't actually accurate, the appeal to majority is a fallacy for a reason.
Like, this post exists for a reason. I got up to eight common complaints that were wrong in some way, seven if you discount the second one that mostly exists to support the first. Those things that people are saying absolutely do not have a point, hence the post existing. Yet, they're still common.
that were wrong in some way,
Wrong according to you.

As long as you acknowledge her kit has skill expression, then you're not falling afoul of that point in this post.
People starting from that more honest and accurate position would definitely elevate the state of discourse to the point where conversations can actually happen, but then again, most people would still be starting with that emotionally-driven comment up at the start of your post, I suppose…
most people would still be starting with that emotionally-driven comment up at the start of your post, I suppose…
This is what always gets me. If the majority of people are coming to the same conclusion and saying this same thing then maybe they have a point?
-
Skull Merchant is an affront to game design.
There's nothing particularly skillful about following a survivor to a loop, tapping M2, and profiting — which is how 99.9% of SMs play. Her having the ability to do some interesting things like hiding drones or lasertagging is moot, because the majority of players will take the path of least resistance to win and this so-called "skill expression" will never see the light of day.
-
win streaks
If I open up a stream and see someone doing a win streak in public games I'm instantly closing that nonsense.
It's not a fair challenge when your opponents don't know there's even a challenge going on. Also, I'm tired of creators getting all bitter and negative when their "streak" comes to an end as if they haven't just ruined thousands of regular matches with the sweatiest, most unbalanced BS.

Yep. I didn't get my email, neither did my DbD duo partner despite us both being long-time subscribers to the newsletter.
The emails are so hit or miss. Sometimes I get ones that my duo doesn't, and vice versa. I wish they would just stop doing promotions this way because it clearly doesn't work properly.
As for support, I reached out 2 days ago and haven't heard anything back.
Edit: Not that I have any hope of support rectifying the situation. Everyone else I've spoken to has said support just said they can't do anything about it, despite the official DbD Twitter account telling us to reach out. What a farce.
