I feel just like a survivor punching bag today, putting it lightly.

Don't worry. You'll soon experience it every day

So your solution is to make sure every one has a bad time

    gotcha

    Everyone except the killer.

Hey, what's wrong for killers to have fun?

  • Camping is in my blood. You can't change it.

    Coming from Bubba.

    LOL

  • Make it one-time use, just like Hex.

4 People run it, 4 times. That's all.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

This happens every time something terrible players used to think they're good gets nerfed.

Multi-blink Nurse? Nurse got a massive swing of the Hammer and down she went, taking both good and terrible Nurses down with her (good players couldn't deal with the bugs, bad players couldn't be asked now they no longer had 4 blinks without downsides, or old OmegaBlink:tm: to basically guarantee wins).

Forever Freddy? Down went his add-ons and you saw a lot less people stacking every possible slowdown. Some even used chase perks. Then he got hit again- perhaps a bit too hard- so off he fell.

Old Old Spirit? Remember when everyone said them adding in a vault animation and removing collision would kill her? Then Stridor went and she was still incredibly powerful? Then the most recent change happened and she's s t i l l incredible, just god forbid you have to use brainpower now.

Whenever there's something obviously overbearingly good then bad players will flock to it like moths to a lamp to make themselves feel better. Then, when it's taken away and they're faced with the reality, they figure out they only enjoyed stomping people and migrate to the next thing that takes the least effort for the greatest reward. It was Spirit, it was Freddy, and it was Nurse. Who it is now I genuinely don't know, I haven't played enough to see it yet.

I disagree. Some good players also stop playing those killers because it's not fun anymore.

I personally like nurse, but that cooldown is killing me.

  • It will. In 3 years.

Just like how long it took for them to nerf DS and OoO.

  • @Myla said:

The frightening thing is it's legitimately possible. They're pretty much exploring every mechanic in the game and adding a boon type to it. That's how much they ran out of ideas for perks and every Survivor would spam map offerings with problematic totem locations. Who would have thought that a Killer's totem to combat four people in the match is going to be used against them. I would have said you were crazy if you told me this two years ago.

Well, the old DS and OoO did survive for years. I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes real.

  • @C3Tooth said:

I dont want to reveal this but...Spirit in phasing can see the spark.

Technically sparking survivors are completely visible to Spirit.

Really? Didn't noticed that because no one picks up the crown for some reason.

Edit: Actually, i just played another match, didn't notice the slightest, and i'm sure they have the crown

  • Honestly i didn't expect so many people recommend cosmetics over Trickster... it really does show how bad he is LOL

Anyway, thanks everyone for recommendation! Now my spirit looks gorgeous!

    image.png

  • @Hex_Ignored said:

If you have the option to get another killer get that but otherwise get trickster. At least his perks are not offensively bad and killer cosmetics are borderline useless as YOU cannot see them in game

Only spirit and doctor is different. Spirit you can see your cosmetics during phasing, and doctor you can see the illusion

  • @Moxie said:

Trickster is a fun Killer but he is very weak, comparatively.

I find Killer cosmetics pointless anyways lol. You only get to see it in a lobby, and the Trial start screen pan.

    But the choice is yours.

That’s little different for spirit. You can see your own cosmetics during phasing.

Normally I wouldn’t consider a cosmetic but it’s different for spirit and some killer like doctor.

  • @MyNamePete said:

So a tryhard killer is classified as using 4 mediocre perks and 2 ultra rare addons that arent good? My bad.

Those are really bad perks.. I would assume this killer still hasn’t reached Lv 50 yet lol.

And if this is consider tryhard, maybe only an add-onless trapper with no perks can be considered as chill

  • The problem is, if survivors stay in group of 2, victor has no power. 0. Nothing you can do to counter this.

Hit on healthy survivor? They kidnap your power or they just crush it and start doing gens.

Down a injured survivor? Enjoy your 5 secs stun where survivors in radius of 20m can literally run in straight line to kick you. By the time you reach as victor or charlotte, that survivor is already up and running away.

It’s such a pain to play as Twins.

  • Huh, usually killers at low rank is easy 4k because survivors don’t know what to do yet. Maybe you’re going against smurfing groups, I’m not sure.

Anyway, i suggest you to climb the ranks until at least purple. It won’t be easy, but it really helps in improving skills in both roles.

It's not bait. I really honestly believed killers were OP. Since my son plays killer he told me to try out killer myself so I could see why he was always getting angry. So I took his advice. Nothing wrong with me wanting to try and get some perspective from the opposing side. Why do people feel the need to go off on anyone who tries something different.

So i presume you’re using your son’s account to play killer?

It’s generally not a good idea because survivors tend to bully killers in high ranks, especially when they’re facing a new killer.

That being said, nice for you to try out killers and understands what killer players gone through since the beginning..

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Both 1v1 and 1v4 need to be considered. I always read that the game is a 1v4, but the 1v1-aspect cannot be ignored, because this is the actual Survivor/Killer-Interaction. And if I go against a Spirit with Stridor, basically nothing from my side matters.

Survivors should not be able to dominate Killers in 1v1 situations, however, their Skill should not be invalidated in 1v1 situations (like it does with Spirit or Deathslinger, as examples).

The problem is, survivors have huge advantage in 1v4 because of gen speed, especially with coordination in SWF.

So in order for killers to compete in this environment, he has to be so good at ending chase fast. There's no room for survivor/killer interaction because any chase longer than 30 sec is considered a lose for killer. You cannot make a proper gameplay out of this 30 secs.

  • The moment SBM drops I'm gonna throw the game to lower my rating as killer.

No I won't be smurfing. I'll just gonna use meme builds and chill around. Probably will let everyone escape even if I can win.

I just don't want to sweat like raining during my free time.

  • @th3 said:

Who really cares about that? People play in swf to have fun with friends, the fun you have in solo queue is almost nil. Pointless post.

While they're having fun with friends, they have unintentionally benefit from the voice chat and make the game easy mode. Some people even go out of their way to harass killers.

I have no problem with people playing with friends. However, I have problems with the game.

  • It's perfectly normal for people to use the best possible thing to achieve winning. It's the same with other ways around (Survivors with all metas)

Never blame the player for using things available in the game.

  • It's hard to know every single perk and add-ons in the game to be honest.

I mainly play killer, and I don't even know half the add-ons killers have because I don't use any LOL.

  • @WeenieDog said:

I feel like the only time you're really getting punished is if you break off a chase to kick a gen instead of going for the down. It also doesn't counter pop, you can still pop it right after.

I chased the survivor off gens, down him, put him on hook, and come back.

Boom! I got hit with the mines.

  • @van9684 said:

I think most killer mains are used to op easy to play killers from the start. Maybe you’ll have to work at playing him to get good, like with nurse players. Give it a try.

How do you get good if the game lags every time you pull out your tentacle?

  • Vote with your wallet. Don’t buy it.

    This is too greedy.

You cannot play like this in Public Games. The best strategy (also against Spirit) is to just waste every Pallet while your team is doing Gens. Like in ScottJunds Video against a Comp-Player, said player dropped a Pallet every 11 seconds on average. No looping at all.

Yes, you can counter Killers like this. However, this only works if your team is doing Generators. And this is the problem in public games, not everyone is super-efficient all the time, if you waste Pallets like this in public games, you end up with all Pallets gone after 3 minutes and like 2 Gens being done. And for the rest of the game, everyone is ######### because there are no Pallets left.

That’s what everyone is asking for. Buffing solos to SWF level, and balance the game around it.

But no. Devs won’t do this because it’s basically remake the game. So we’re stuck.

Even weirder, they dodged me, in lobby, 3 separate times that screenshot is of the 3rd time I found them, they left shortly after

Huh that's new. Unless they have a way to know who you are or what killer you're using?

  • Maybe 1 use per 3 hooks? That's maximum 3 uses.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Sounds like a gameplay error of you.

If you know it takes ages to catch up to a survivor holding w after a speedboost why are you chasing them?

Go after the ones who are working on gens instead and leave the survivor who's most likely sprinted to an area without generators for later

Chasing through injure speed boost is how most genrushes happen

Letting them go away basically means they win the chase, and get vaccine. Boom. All your work gone while other 3 survivors are progressing the gens.

Imagine doing this 4 times against every survivor. You lost tons of time at the start and you're doing nothing to your objective (No infection, no injure, no hook).

  • They really have to stop the new content for once. Adding new stuff to an already broken game just makes it even broken.

To a deaf person that all sounds crazy. You all live in an entirely different world from me.

    I sympathize you.

  • A good music indeed...

But I still think Silent Hill has best music though.

  • Please tell me you dodge it. These people don't deserve a game.

Name another online multiplayer game that has this many problems every patch.

I would say if it includes offline single player game, Cyberpunk 2077 on release is comparable.

  • When I play survivor I always put spine chill on. I can say it's definitely overtuned. I can make bold moves like repairing gens in terror radius without any consequences because I'll always know when killer is coming for me.

And it takes away a skill survivor needs to have. Awareness.

Aaanndd... It trashes every stealth killer. What's the point of the stealth if you could counter them with just one perk?

PS: I still use spine chill because I'm addicted to it, like drugs. I hope they can nerf it so I can cure of it :)

I would say that this is beyond optimisation and it's borderline unplayable. I am ok with the game not being the best, but right now you literally lose 1-2 seconds of the match and that's unfair.

And now it will take weeks for an hot fix :(

I would say the killer also lags if he happens to be on console. But you’re right it’s unfair and frustrating.

And yep. Hotfix is gonna take weeks, and we’re not even sure if it’ll get fixed or not.

  • I’m gonna guess a lot of new comers gonna leave the game because of this.

  • Seriously i think at this point they already abandoned optimization on old gen console.

Just restarted my game, I feel a little robbed now that I've bought them unlinked and they're now linked

    Damn that really feels cheated.

I wish they could give you the refund.

  • Good.

RE fans are flooding to play RE in DBD, and guess what? They just disabled the new map at release. Not for a bad reason, but it does show how buggy this game is.

I wonder how long they’ll remain..

  • I have the same experience, just the opposite site.

Playing nurse or blight? You get indoor maps.

Playing range killers? Again indoor maps.

Playing Myers or Ghostface? You get coldwind farm.

    Playing Bubba? Hawkins for you.

Playing M1 killer with no mobility? Mother dwelling or Haddonfield..

I wish i can ban some maps when I’m playing certain killers..

  • I’m only interest in new maps in terms of graphic.

But I’m sure I’ll be bored or even hate it after some times because of its bad gameplay design.

  • All meta perks should be nerfed. (Yes I’m talking about both sides)

IMO perks should only be a small bonus, not game-changing

  • @SoapNSpook said:

Save the best for the last popped up and ruined perfectly fine games too much for me. I'll explain how this perk is being too troublesome in hands of killers who know how to walk to kill survivors

It prevents any bodyblocking (killers have the Executioner's perk for this), it shortens chases too much (there are plenty of other perks that help with that), it allows camping at max stacks (certain abilities and perks already create such issue), you can even avoid loosing stacks by hitting survivors with special ability. Too much going on for one specific perk. It suits nearly all killers and doesn't have any drawbacks

After playing a while during the test I've noticed how many killers use it and get free hits for literally doing their job. They don't do anything special, they just hit survivors. Many survivor perks require extra actions like healing or unhooking but this one just does so much for free!

It's annoying to deal with, it promotes unfair gameplay that is unfun for survivors, something has to be done with it!!

"Many survivor perks require extra actions like healing or unhooking but this one just does so much for free!"

Borrowed time and unbreakable wants to say Hi ! And STBFL needs extra actions. Hitting survivors that's not the obsession.

    Case closed.

  • Not really. I played 3 matches just now as killer as 3 different killer. Almost instant queue.

Now I’m queuing as survivor, and it has been 2 mins.. still waiting

You have to be on PC, at least I think so, that is the only way I know that you can find your stats for DBD.

    Yes i'm on PC.

  • @Yords said:

That's not what your stats on dbd shows https://dbd.onteh.net.au/

How to find my own stat with that? Does it show?

  • I'm interested. However, I'm not buying it on release.

They already said that they'll make balance decisions again 3 months later. So this basically means it is unfinished product, not finalized. I don't want to spend the money like this.

Besides that, map looks really great, in terms of graphic. It really resembles the police station in RE2. However, gameplay-wise, it's not that great to be honest

  • @AssassinZodiac said:

I agree with you 100% that this game can be nearly impossible to play killer as a new player. It's very demoralizing to learn to play and get cussed out in end game chat just for trying to play the killer role how it was designed to be played.

The good news is that they are currently working on an MMR or SBMM. They have tested it a few times over the last year to varying degrees of success. Personally, the last test worked wonderfully for me. I'm rank 1 both sides though. If it's working correctly, you will be matched against equally skilled opponents every match. That would mean fairer matches for everyone.

Also, if you stick with it in the meantime before MMR goes into effect. You can get better at killer more quickly by going against higher skilled opponents. It will be incredibly frustrating sure, but the frustration is not without reward in the end.

Good luck in your future games! ; )

About the part of getting better, not really. You can't really get better by just playing against players that totally mops the floor with you.

It's like a newbie playing chess against a pro without holding back. It doesn't teach you anything. Even worse, you get insulted from being bad.

Hope the new matchmaking works. Until then, I won't recommend this game to any new players.

  • How do you get to 1k hours within 1 year?

I have been playing this game before spirit came out, and I'm still at around 800 hours.

Do you never feel like taking a break?

  • The killer does not control the match. Survivors do. They control how fast gens get done, essentially how long the game lasts. This alone makes the game harder for killers, basically means less fun and more stress.

“Is it fun for you to prevent 4 other people from having fun?”

Why should i care about your fun? I bought the game to have fun, ME. Why should i play the game to make other people have fun?

At this point doing everything a killer needs to (patrolling, hooking, slugging, tunnelling, etc.) means “unfun” for survivors. So in order to “not prevent survivors from having fun”, should i just play like a clown that does not threaten survivors in any way? Should i just throw the match to please survivors?

What you’re demanding is absolutely absurd. Does survivor care my fun? NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST. Even if i did the best job of appealing them, they always find something to insult me.

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 41
