I'd rather have it so that emps only print to like 90% and survivors have to finish it. That way when every pod on the map is disabled I know they at least had to sink a little time into it. And they only begin printing a new one when the previous one is used.
-
It'd involve rewriting the game from the ground up. They've stated it's near impossible.
-
Why do you need every killer or survivor in the game? I have literally only ever played Kate and not felt like I was missing out on anything. I play about a dozen killers and haven't ever felt the need to play deathslinger or hag, for example. It seems like you want stuff just to say you have it. Endless acquisition of this or that is a poor mindset in my opinion.
-
People always forget killer agency in these discussions. Killers sometimes have to get a survivor out of the game. People hate this fact. The more options you remove from killers, the simpler you make the role by giving them less choices and minimize the second-by-second decision making that makes the role engaging.
Moreover there are anti tunnel perks. When you refuse to take these because you want your Windows crutch, to heal quickly or do gens quickly, you've made the decision to be vulnerable off hook in exchange for some other aptitude. If you don't like it, trade Windows for DS(still a good perk) or something else.

that's all well and good but bloodpoints are nice for everyone else who isn't insane
Lacking the compulsion to watch a number go up when you already have enough of the things that number represents is fairly sane. In fact, I'd go so far as to say more people should have that ideology.
-
I think we get too many blood points as it is. They already reduced the grind substantially. You don't need every character in the game p100 or whatever.
-
"Please consider adjusting the logic for exit gate placement to remove the ability of killers to automatically camp both exit gates with zero-effort?"
Good news! They can't!
-
@Rudjohns said:
No way out should deactivate if the hatch is closed
I don't think the perk a killer had to work for should be turned off so that a survivor gets to escape if the gates happen to be undefendable or if the killer has no mobility. Incredibly unfair.

I see the problems with it. Only showing key perks might be to much effort for little gain as it would need to change with buffs and nerfs.
But I agree that showing only key perks could be the middle ground.
Just yesterday I was doing the event challenge "unhook 8 survivors". I brought We'll Make It and even BT to ensure safety even if killers come back to tunnel. Guess what happened: A Meg without any perks which activate upon unhook also tried to get every unhook (I think she had the same quest) resulting in a very inefficient match. It happens even more if you use Deli.
If she'd been able to see your perks, she would have ignored them and you'd be bemoaning the solo queue devil instead. People are going to play how they want regardless of the information at hand.
-
They will never add this, because they cannot police voice chat.
-
I couldn't care less about blood points. I have every perk I want and dozens more offerings and add-ons than I can use. It's a fine event.
-
I also think it should be buffed by 5% or so. It's hard to justify running over a game stall or info perk or even a better chase perk like bamboozle.

Lately I've been finding that a good way to tell your teammates to get off their behinds and get you is to start to throw on hook. Make one attempt to kobe on first hook, or miss one skill check on second hook. They'll usually come to get you at that point. And if not? Well, gg next. There's no reason to stick around if teammates are intentionally griefing you like that.
Really, we have stuff like this going on, and then people wonder why Survivors give up on hook...
This behavior is part of the reason people don't want to continue playing at times. You're throwing a tantrum because you're not getting unhooked right now!!! And threatening to ruin the match for everyone else. The lack of self awareness is staggering. Just play it out. It might end up better than you expect.
-
Dunno about extremely OP. It's not incap eruption. Maybe slightly OP. It should just turn off after one survivor screens instead of being a scream aura that follows you around
-
I'm not certain punishing people for succeeding is a good idea. Also it's not something the killer can effect like they can with misses.
-
@Slowpeach said:
The easiest solution is to simply prevent it outside of guaranteed hook escapes. You can't force people to play against their will but you should be able to disconnect on hook, while being slugged or carried without penalty. That's why people do it after all, they want to go next without penalty for whatever reason.
I say let them. They can be replaced by a bot who actually wants to win. Most of the time I'm delighted to have a bot on my team because I know exactly what to expect and how best to use their strengths.
Better having a bot survivor with one hook state then having nobody at all. Hook suiciding ruins the game for three other people at least and maybe the killer too if they wanted an actual contest though I'll grant some players on both sides just want their 'I win' screen no matter the cost.
It's not even like they 'feed' certain killers like Myers because they instantly know when they are being stalked. They aren't an ideal solution due to all the cheating they do but they aren't that hard to beat and value vaults way too much in chase.
Luck offerings, Up the Ante and Slippery Meat would need to be changed but those perks are some of the least used anyway and for good reason.
Part of me gets the reluctance. They are concerned that people will disconnect en masse against disliked killers such as Nurse and Skull Merchant. Which is why I put the restrictions in there. Worst they can do is immediately run to the killer and deliberately get downed. Beats outright removing one player from the game. I say again 'YOU CANNOT FORCE PLAYERS TO PLAY AGAINST THEIR WILL'. The issue is that if killers are that disliked enough, the problem lies with the design team. Further some players need to learn that this game is not their personal torture house to torment four other individuals relentlessly.
However I don't see it happening. The BHVR team makes it painfully obvious that they only play within their test groups and not out there in the wilderness and have no idea the cruelty some players (on both sides) enforce on others on a daily basis. Cruelty which would have real life consequences if they actually tried it against a human being they knew face to face. If they did, certain perks, killers, features would have been changed ages ago.
I gotta ask: why did you write this gigantic post when you could have just said "remove the DC penalty"? That's what you're getting at. All this other stuff is just fluff. So why? It's just weird to me.

Well tbh I'd like Distortion nerfed to lower it's token generation to some blocks, rather than perma aura immunity.
What else would you give this perk then?
I think it'd be good if you could unblock the gen you blocked at will.

What's wrong with perks countering the other sides things? It takes up a perk slot that could've gone to something else.
Would you rather them slap Distortion on instead? That's worse.
Survivor perks directly countering killer perks feel bad, because you have to deal with it four times over. When I run lethal and BBQ on doctor I have two empty perk slots vs full distortion teams because they will never run out of tokens. That feels pretty bad. I also like a full block build on him; grim, DMS, deadlock thrilling tremors. If there were a perk that just turned off my entire build, even run by two survivors it'd dismantle the entire idea. May as well run actual regression at that point.
-
Killers are actual humans, just like you, trying to play and enjoy their favorite characters. They aren't set dressing for you to play with or to facilitate your experience.
With that in mind, why do you think it's fair to make them sit in longer queues for the sole reason of giving you the experience you want? Doesn't that seem terribly selfish?
-
Not wraith but for the others, sure. Burning crows off your teammates mid chase was really cool.

Adam screamed next to me at the start of the match. That means the killer is 32m away. We did not spawn with any good cover around. I tried to crouch walk away. The killer found me, not Adam.
My perk successfully countered Ultimate Weapon, but the game just keeps spawning me next to other survivors at the start of the trial and rendering my perks useless.
I'm not asking for insane buffs or reworks. Just some simple quality of life changes.
If I had access to the Shroud of Separation as a survivor, I WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SITUATION MYSELF...
The things you're suggesting are huge buffs, not quality of life. AOE infinite scream suppression? That's a big buff.

Doesn't matter what people choose to play. Strictly speaking from a stat index it's viable. Just because the community doesn't embrace it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Never see any carrier builds either, but it exists and it's pretty brutal to play against. Same with skill check counter builds. Same with obsession swapping builds.
I'm not basing my analysis on the meta. I'm basing it on the raw interaction of the perk. Just because thwack isn't interesting to you doesn't mean someone playing hillbilly isn't going to see the combination of it and his add-ons. Same as trapper - a 4.6 m/s killer that's already quite easy to play - running autoset and bloody coil with window vaults now granting movement speed killer shack is all but lost if someone gets trapped. Nurses running friends till the end and nemesis are also not common. Doesn't mean it doesn't combo. And there are a lot of combos that don't get utilized. Like locker bunny huntress. I never see people run dredge's perk on her for faster locker interactions, but her and trickster can benefit massively from it.
But if you think corrupt intervention, pop goes the weasel, pain resonance, and BBQ chili are the only way to play right since that is basically the meta then you do you. I run sole survivor left behind and object of obsession as survivor for players like that. Makes avoiding them very easy.
If a thing barely happens, then it's not a problem and does not need to be addressed. It's a fun outlier otherwise. An interesting blip in sea of meta perks. Let people have fun with their dumb niche haste build that absolutely is not going to win games.
-
There will be.
-
It's segue.
Also this doesn't work. Different perks have different efficacy on different killers. Also BHVR would have to decide how good or bad perks are and get ahead of whatever meta emerges which is impossible.
-
I'm in the minority obviously but I think they look horrid and lazy. There has to be a better way to signpost interactable stuff.

In the face of bullying, it's essential to acknowledge the emotional impact it can have on individuals, recognizing that everyone has feelings and that it's normal to be affected by hurtful comments. The idea that "not caring" about what people say may not be an effective response is rooted in an understanding of the potential consequences of sustained exposure to bullying on mental health.
Instead of dismissing these emotions and encouraging isolation from the online world, its crucial to be fostering open communication, encouraging individuals to discuss their feelings with trusted friends, family, or support networks to gain emotional relief and potentially find constructive solutions. It's important to convey that setting boundaries and standing up against bullying is not about being overly reactive but rather asserting one's right to be treated respectfully and promoting a positive, inclusive environment for everyone.
By empowering individuals to respond assertively, seek support, and contribute to a culture where bullying is not tolerated, we can collectively work towards creating a healthier and more empathetic community. It wont happen tomorrow, but things are better these days than earlier.
So to return to the topic, it becomes a problem when bHVR's new Dead by Daylight Killer becomes the catalyst that causes bullying and its worth it for bHVR to consider what they enable. I'm not blind to seeing that everyone who responded to OP is basically saying they are wrong, but that's really up to bHVR anyway and I think we should encourage bHVR considering that.
What are you talking about? I just said Twitter is a dumpster fire and you're lecturing me about how bullying is bad, actually. I know bullying is bad. How is that germane to my post?

You can go look at what is taking place on Twitter, I'm not posting them here, the mods would delete me. Its mainly a combination of claiming the Unknown is trans representation, claiming that at or in earshot transwomen community members and claiming those community members ARE those cheerleader skins. Its frankly horrid and its a matter of time before they pull worse things off.
The problem isn't with the Lore, the lore is fine, the problem is those skins look like transphobic caricatures, which makes them ripe tools for transphobic bullying. A similar problem to 'that Bubba Mask', but a different marginalized group in our society
I understand that it might seem like these issues are being blown out of proportion, but it's crucial to recognize that the impact of certain content can vary for different individuals. Video games are a shared space where people from various backgrounds come together to have fun and enjoy a hobby.
When content in games perpetuates stereotypes or mocks certain groups, even by accident, it can inadvertently contribute to a negative environment for those players. It's not about creating problems where none exist but rather fostering an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone.
Consider that some players may face discrimination and stereotyping in their daily lives, and the gaming community can either be a supportive escape or an additional source of distress. By addressing these concerns, we can work towards creating a more positive and inclusive gaming culture that respects the diverse experiences of its players.
What's truly horrid is that people interact with Twitter or care about what is said on it. Shortform social media lends itself to the most sensational and incendiary takes in as few characters as possible. It's all just for attention. It's worthless as a communication medium.
-
The clones should dispel automatically within 16m when a survivor is hooked. Dunno about the other complaints at the bottom.

What people seem to neglect about weaving spiders is that you're not supposed to do it alone. That's why it shows your aura. That's why it that's an inordinate amount of time when you do it by yourself. Shaving half a minute off it is not the solution. I think it's a really good anti three gen perk.

It's hilarious how these killers are made, so he teleports, has a range ability that also does damage while also being AoE ability and bouncing from walls. Literally no fun playing against this killer, if only that bs wasn't AoE and a bit more skillbased so you have to actually hit someone it wouldn't be that horrible LOL
When you only mention the positives of a killer to try and frame them as op, your post comes off as very disingenuous.

Not really. Killer players think they are super important but in reality they aren't (again, back to that ego/power complex thing. It's real!). They only need to make up 20% of the player base, and I think right now it's closer to 40-45% if the stats I read were correct (which they very well may not be. I'll admit). If some healthy changes to the game make some people pick up survivor instead of killer, that would be healthy for the game. Decreasing queue times and helping SBMM be more accurate.
You don't remember pre 6.10, I see. The only reason I picked up killer was because queue times were 10+ minutes after like 7pm est on surv. Playing killer like felt like a community service with how unfun it was.
It's wild to see the occasional mask off "survivors are more important and deserve preferential treatment" posts. How do you identify so so strongly with one half of the game? Play both sides.

Nurse has add-on fragile wheeze which applies mangled on special attacks. She was easily most popular killer to run mangled on. Maybe Spirit with MDR is close second, so the change is definitely directed to top tier killers.
Nurse is hardly the most popular killer to run mangled. I get more blink recharge than that addon. The most popular killers were basic m1 killers. When's the last time you saw a wraith without Sloppy? Pig? Dredge? Come on.

killer's grenade is too powerful of a projectile. can easily combo a 1-2 knockout with it because of the range and lack of requirement for a direct impact.
not much else to say about the killer. i'll have to experience it more.
perks wise...
i feel like soft caps are going to be needed in the near future for some specific combinations.
obviously skill check counter builds are going to be powerful with this new killer's perks. relentless storm comes to mind.
then of course there's the issue of haste stacking. chucky's haste perk when near completed generators and play with your food might make for a frustrating combination on the right killers. like trickster, trapper, or huntress? or maybe even legion. though mend isn't a big deal. injured by any means is quite the blank check.
the generator terror radius ability is meh. but as a stealth killer user i take any form of undetectable i can get. pyramid head's perk just seems better.
Nobody runs play with your food except tombstone Myers. Or that Chucky perk. When's the last time you saw game afoot? Is the answer literally never? You'll never see this awful vault perk either. The frightening spectre of haste stacking is a fiction. A non issue.
My only issues with the killer is that the staring to remove weakened should not have been increased and clones near hook should auto destruct. Oh, and when he teleports away from the hook he should slowdown for parity with that weird part of singularity's kit.
-
Let me opt out and that's fine.

Yep, twins, the unknown, hag, Knight, Skull Merhcant all have terrible game design that's not fun. People will say "you just want easy killers who you can bully" no I don't, I want killers who provide fun chases and have fair counterplay, wether I survive or die is besides the point I just don't like 'cheap' tactics that ruin players fun like the mentioned killers thrive on. They all need a rework so they feel good to play as and against.
Not every killer should do the same stuff, there should be dudes with weird powers like knight and unknown. You can't make killers that throw themselves/something at the survivors with over and over again. All the killers you have issues with are obviously fun to play as or else people wouldn't.

That happens with any popular character in a game because the lowest common denominator is larger for popular characters. So they drag the average down by dint of there being so many of them.

Nerfs aren't always about how strong something is. Sometimes it's about how healthy that thing is.
I, personally, think SM has crazy potential if played right (and if people don't choose to give up). Changes are inevitable because of her reputation, so I'd rather exert the tiny influence I have towards those nerfs being sensible and healthy rather than being an indiscriminate sledgehammer.
There are buffs she could fairly get too, if these end up being too much all at once, but I don't personally think they would be. Most of them won't even be noticeable in the course of regular play-- take the removal of Deep Wound. How often do you actually bank on or play around the Deep Wound specifically when it comes to her drones? Basically never, it's the injure/Broken/Hindered that actually matter.
"Unhealthy" is an impossible to define term used as a catchall for "thing I don't like". It doesn't mean anything.
Would SM be unplayable after these nerfs? Of course not. She'd still be better than trapper. The salient question is whether a B tier killer needs nerfs because people just don't like her, for the sake of folks seeing her less. The answer is obviously no.
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3672739#Comment_3672739
Well, not all of these are nerfs, to be fair.
Still, I disagree, while I do love playing her and on the rare occasion I see her I do also like playing against her, I think she needs a few tweaks to be as healthy as she can be.
I don't think a B tier killer when people actually choose to play vs her needs a suite of nerfs regardless of how much people dislike her. It's not like she's nurse, blight or even Chucky level.
Also being able to tell when drones are disabled is hardly even a buff, it's a quality of life. You can already tell because the rotation option is disabled.
-
She's fine. The visibility of the scan lines helps way more playing versus her than I thought they would. This is death by a thousand cuts.
