DS Rework Idea
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike activates for 60/70/80 seconds.
While active, complete a Skill Check when grabbed by the Killer to escape, stunning them for 5 seconds.
- Succeeding the Skill Check disables Decisive Strike.
- You become the Obsession after stunning the Killer.
- The perk and its effects are disabled if the exit gates are powered.
While active, the following interactions deactivate Decisive Strike:
- Taking any Conspicuous Action
- Another survivor getting hooked
- Taking a protection hit 10 seconds after getting unhooked
- Being healed to full health
- Increases your chance to be the Obsession.
- The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.
Just trying to strengthen DS's anti tunneling capabilities while trying to kill its potential as a body blocking meat shield. Thoughts?
And to make it clear what's changed:
-Active duration increased from 40/50/60 seconds to 60/70/80 seconds.
-Stun timer increased from 3 seconds to 5 seconds.
-Failing the skill check will not disable the perk permanently.
-A few additional deactivation conditions added on top of the usual Conspicuous Action deactivation condition.
Comments
5 seconds is a bit too much, maybe 4 seconds, but i liked it, also, i think ds should only activate the timer when the killer starts a chase with you (imo)
Doesn't do anything for bodyblocking.
Well, I don't think there's any perfect solution to address that without making the perk completely useless for survivors.
I don't think this would work really well, it's basically the version we had before the nerf to 3 seconds, and as far as I remember it was just using it offensiv and nearly never defensive like you should. It was most of the time pick up to delete it from endgame or just slugg. You don't have to worry about endgame anymore, but the problem with the forced slugg will be bigger because of your increase of the timer.
Besides that it would be even worse than now, because the restriction with the hit after unhooking would kill it for camping killers and make it even easier than now to ignore.
If you're making this change with the intention of buffing it, it's not a bad thing. However, inevitably, leaving slugs unattended becomes popular, and we can't blame them for that.
I support this. Although, I'd like to see it disable flashlights and flashbangs for as long as it's active just to make sure they don't use it to linger around when a killer picks up a different survivor and remove all risk. Especially since we also have Background Player.
Why protection hit for only 10 seconds? Make it anytime during the perks active duration. If it has this I’m mostly fine with everything else.
I do think it should be downing another survivor deactivates it though, not just hooking.
This is not what a rework is. The perk does the same thing, just better or worse on different parts.
