  • What if behavior introduced a perk or two that a survivor could use to pick themselves up off the floor. THAT would probably be a good tool.

  • The devs need to examine and study why coal tower is such a great map and implement those elements into new maps. The devs really accomplished a feat with midwich...... everyone hates it

  • I’d just like them to revisit her addons. So many of them are bad. I don’t want to play an m1 killer with no power (ultra rare) I don’t want to have 3 blinks but can’t blink through objects without line of sight (ultra rare). There are many others, but I just wanted to gripe about the ultra rares

  • Don’t hold your breath. It took 9 pages to get a dev to respond about console frame issues.

Even competitive shooter games have crossplay between PC and consoles. DbD is not a competitive game and is not a shooter so I don’t get why some of you console players are complaining about playing with players who use keyboard and mouse.

Rb6 siege runs smooth as butter on PS4...... has absolutely nothing to do with how terrible the optimization is from dbd on console.

Since I play PC I cant speak about extra sweatiness from PC Killers since they what I usually face but I can say console Survivors are super toxic, not that it tilts me as I take the game as what it is, a game but the amount of T-bag, meta perk spam and clicky flashlights is astounding. Best part is they dont even have to skills to backup such attempts at toxicity and they usually end sacrificed, are console Killers so soft that Survivors have grow overconfident? If thats the case they are going to learn to show the proper respect in blood.

I think ive met more toxic console survivors in the few days after crossplay was implemented than in the whole 2020.

It’s not about soft. Please realize that is console killers have serious frame issues. We know it, console survivors know it, and it is abused. I’m personally glad pc killers are bringing the smoke to the endless attempts to 360 you guys and it doesn’t work because you have the frames to track them

If I'm being honest, I was blown away at how bad most of the console survivors were. No, I'm not trying to be provocative or mean. I kept thinking I was being matched against rank 15s. I started taking the foot off the pedal. I stood mid-field on 4 matches and let them get a few gens done before finishing them. Out of 11 matches, there were 7 where I had everyone on death hook by the time 1 gen was done. Don't get me wrong, it was nice not hearing gens popping off like the 4th of July, but I felt dirty destroying these teams. Then I get to post game and see they are all red rank console survivors?! WTH?! You meet the occasional boosted survivor....20% of the time on PC, but there were less than 5 times I got in a chase where I felt I needed to focus and mind game some.

Keep in mind, I was running Trapper, Pig, Hag. Not like I had Nurse/Spirit/Billy out....Though I only gave one hatch, I did play very laid back and let them get some gens done. It just seems console survivors are used to being able to 360 and loop killers and therefore don't focus as hard on gens. They constantly tried to 360, every-single-match. It was shooting fish in a barrel. They did not mind game as much, instead trying to rely on a 360 or a timed Dead Hard...which most PC killers know to wait for.

Is it the frame rate issue for console killers that creates a false sense of security for console survivors? I feel bad for PC solo survivors right now. It has to be frustrating. I saw someone say that PC survivors will bang away a gen and let you stage 2.....yeah, it's sometimes the right thing to do. Especially facing a forever Freddy who is tunneling or a Stridor Spirit. You get the gen done, put pressure on the killer, then go for rescue. It is all situational.

This is EXACTLY what it is. As a killer running up on a survivor they will 360 and there is no way (at least most of the time) to visually track the character. It wasn’t as bad when the game first hit PS4.

imagine playing mortal kombat and your opponents attacks never visualize on your screen. How can you react to a 15 frame kick when are viewing a slide show. The survivors just disappear from in front.

I wrote in a post yesterday how pc killers will be the ones to actually understand because you will see so many console survivors trying to 360 you. You guys can actually track it. I’m glad some pc killers are writing on here about their experiences so that hopefully bhvr will do something

Then I am the only ps4 player who can?

If you missed a hit because the survivor is spinning, next time lunge while moving back and to a side instead of keeping straight.

And no, fps aren't any issue.

There is a 9 page post about us folks who have frame issues on console. Thanks for your opinion, but many of us know differently

  • Frame rate is horrid. It why pc killers will see so many console survivors doing 360. Us console killers can’t visually track a survivor during a 360 due to the frames and console survivors abuse that.

  • @Slickstyles said:

It's time to be killer mains. There's way too many survivors playing right now.

Who wants the hassle anymore? Swf, broken sounds, fast gens, small PP build on every other survivor, etc etc.... until swf is addressed why not afk on a gen lol.

  • 4 survivors to 1 killer on every platform. Cracks me up that that folks thought the ratio would somehow change with crossplay

  • Now matchmaking (the old one) is back to facing sweat lord survivors again. After 4 years I’m nearly done with this game.

  • I never understood why people thought crossplay would magically make more killers appear. I will only play survivor with crossplay on. The frame rate is just too bad on console to play killer v. Pc gamers. So Q times will go up as I am not the only console killer that won’t be using crossplay until behavior fixes the slideshow.

no matter what it is still 4 survivors to 1 killer. No amount of crossplay will change the ratio.

SWF is also not helping killer numbers either. Just the hard truth

  • Lol only took 8 pages. Thanks to every console player that has helped keep this topic in the front page

    Frames on PS4. Terrible optimization

In the past the Devs got so much heat for their rank based matchmaking. Yes there were valid concerns but as you all know the player feedback is often times so insulting and brute.

Then they took that and tried to introduce something to improve the game we love. Unfortunately, it failed.

Now they were forced to revert the change to matchmaking. Feelsbadman.

So for all the ######### they take from us, here some kind words : Thanks for DBD, we are passionate about it, please keep your spirits high!

And Buff the weaker killers pls :P

Properly testing any of these things could prevent so much of the nonsense. These devs rush everything.

SWF is part of the game. It is not cheating, and I don't see any evidence that this isn't being considered for balance. Kill rates as of the latest stats drop are in the 65% ballpark at all ranks and closer to 70% at red ranks. That includes SWF. Would you have that percentage rise?

That is disingenuous. The kill rate does not distinguish rates for swf and rates for solo. Kill rates are going to naturally be higher for solos and lower for swf. Also, grouping kills for low rank survivors into an overall stat is terribly misleading as survivor at low lever is pretty difficult (at least for new players)

  • @Liddy said:

I've never had fun against all the SWF with OoO, flashlights, keys, map offerings, DS Unbreakable, BT, 5000+ hours in the game. Most of them can't even play the game normally and just want to torture the killer as much as possible.

If it's just a chill group of friends then I don't mind, the problem is that you can't really tell if they're gonna be toxic or not.

And that is the fundamental flaw. Perhaps some kind of reputation System (thumbs up, thumbs down for instance) that can be seen in lobby. If the group has been severely voted down dodge it.

this isn’t an ideal solution, but we know bhvr will never ever change swf so trying to find some way to avoid the griefers is next best thing

  • Coal tower hands down. IMO most balanced map in the game

Nerfed Billy's ability for the 100th time this month and then "fixed a bug" that caused Billy to keep some amount of charge after getting stunned but only after 4 years of it being in the game. It looks like only the bugs that positively affect the killer get fixed, all of the bugs that heavily and negatively affect killers get completely ignored by the devs.

What a wonderful balance/dev team. Thank you so much for this and the previous patches.

    survivor sound fix

    *crickets*

  • Behaviors logic:

    1. put in a system most don’t want (overheat) to fix an unrelated issue (a couple very strong addons)
    2. find that the overheat that has nothing to do with the addons that needed changing doesn’t really overheat
    3. put out an update to justify the money spent designing a mechanic no one wants to show the bosses the money was well spent
    4. get a pat on the back and get told “pretty good job so far”
  • It’s like being an ostrich.... if one keeps their head in the sand, everything that is going on isn’t actually happening because the ostrich can’t see it. This is behaviors philosophy regarding swf. Killers will dodge it all the time.

  • IMO:

survivor tremendously more difficult at low level

killer moderately more difficult at high level (specifically against swf)

  • A 360 that take 2-3 frames to do by a survivor is invisible when this game runs at a super smooth 5 FPS at times. Survivors are in for a treat when killers are running at 60fps and can visually track 360 on console.

  • Let survivors chase each other around loops and see how quickly they call it “boring”

  • God I hope not. They have a bad track record with most every major update. They have yet to fix MMR, console optimization, sounds in game etc... this will no doubt add more bhvr awesome coding to an already broken game

  • I wouldn’t put it past these devs to screw that up also

  • clown and demo. Super OP nerf immediately!

  • Tumbleweeds make more sound than the deafening silence of the devs on this topic. Bump

We're aware that the system is not working as fully as we had anticipated, this is something that the team is investigating.

I'm very sorry that it's ruining people's matches right now, I truly am - sadly there's no more that I can say other than that.

This is a Gods honest question: didnt bhvr test the MMR on Xbox? Didn’t hundreds of folks post in the forums about how awful it was? How could it be anticipated that it would all of a sudden be better to launch it on all systems without figuring the problem out first? This just seems like a severe lack of quality control much like every other patch that comes out.

I’m on my way to reaching red rank killer however I’m faced with matches where I don’t get every kill. I watch streamers who are seemingly flawless at killer. It gets me a little discouraged if I can’t get kills every game. So I just want to know, do the higher up’s also have bad games? They don’t possibly dominate 24/7 right?

Streamers play this game as their JOB. A lot of them literally play like 8 hours a day. It’s a bad habit folks have of trying to make comparisons to a few people who play this game 40 hours a week as a job.

  • Watch out, he will say EVERYONE has bad ping and internet lol

  • Bump

fix the projector level frames on ps4

  • Saying that “lolrankmeansnothing” in the same post complaining about matchmaking because said “means nothing rank” is displayed on the endgame screen makes me laugh. Either it’s an indication or it’s not. Pick one.

I believe that it IS an indication of at least understanding the mechanics/maps/flow of the game if nothing else. I think that the new MMR is terrible, but at least I’m not speaking out of both sides of my mouth.

  • On PS4 (as killer) I try to check the achievements of survivors (that aren’t private) while in the lobby to get some idea of how it’s matchmaking. If it appears the survivors are babies I don’t go all full throttle try-hard and kind of goof off on killer.

though I’m not sure taking it easy on the baby surv is the best thing in the long run as they won’t go down as much as they should when the match is over. It kind of sucks that behavior is leaving it up to killers and survivors to try and protect the new players. It’s like they don’t give a $#!7 if they get demolished.

May be they are trying to avoid ppl who want to abuse the system like old ranking system, I guess.

Or maybe the 7000 IQ plan is no matchmaking at all. Just random. It’s just about the only thing behavior could get right to be honest

  • I tell you what..... if you are a pretty good survivor that plays solo, don’t dare put on kindred or you will lose faith in humanity right now. Holy $#!7 I’m red rank continually getting brown teammates that are petrified of gens and unhooking. This MMR is a disaster... I think I’m about 30ish games in and nothing is changing. (All reds v a noob killer, or potato new surv on my team)

  • These devs are so money hungry they can’t be bothered to even test cosmetics before sending them out (looking at you Minotaur). It’s ludicrous to think they would take 2 months,3months, 6 months of dedicated bug/optimization fixing.

  • I have just been playing survivor for the last couple of days because playing killer on PS4 makes it seem like I’m watching an old school projector. The FPS is so bad. I’ve just accepted that the devs are likely incapable of getting the FPS better on console. After 4 years I’m kind of tired of killer anyway, so this was a good reason to chill on survivor

    in Fps Comment by OBX
  • Look, the devs that made this dumpster MMR system are the same ones that produced a statement that the entirety of the killer player base just can’t play clown right. I mean this is what you get. After 4 years I never expect anything but the worst from bhvr.

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

I'm questioning if it even exists at this point. From my understanding, it was 'tracking' us long before it got activated live, so killers were at some kind of skill already for matching. So, my thinking was, I've never touched Nurse once in my playtime, so why not use this to practice her at last and finally learn her since I've always wanted to, but being placed against Red ranks over and over wasn't a option. So taking that into account, my Nurse should be 0 skill matching newbies. Now, before that's taken from context, I've not used her, so I'm essentially a newb myself with her. But no. 4 matches, all mega coordinated gen slammers, healing within 10 seconds of being hit. So yeah, seems 'Skill based MM' works great so far!

dedicated servers, sounds, hit detection, auras, anti-cheat, nurse bugs, cosmetics bugs, vaulting, pallet stuns, hits through pallets, the list goes on and on. These devs can’t fix the simplistic of things and to think they can develop an MMR system for a non-static rng based game..... please. This will fail like everything else. They have to hire some competent coders first

  • 4 matches on survivor where I had a total of 3 teammates that weren’t allergic to gens. Holy $#!7 Batman this is hot garbage. I’m rank 5 btw

  • this is very simple to complete. Once the doors are open just go hide. The other survivors WILL leave before they die. Just take an L and you can do this in one run

its not about the killer lock man. thats probably the best thing to come out of this recent set of updates, its about how this now exposes an issue with the lobby system where killers cant counter in time the items the survivors want to bring in.

if your playing hag or wraith you probably want to bring in franklins if all 4 survivors bring flashlights, however if everyone on 6 seconds remaining pulls out a flashlight you cant make the change in time.

Some folks can’t understand the concept sadly

  • So I’ve started reporting the folks that like to send racist or malicious messages on PlayStation to PlayStation network. They don’t play around regarding harassment. Bhvr devs don’t seem willing or able to address the spoiled kids that feel the need to say such things, thankfully Sony will bring the hammer down.
