I can't speak for everyone but I go into every match expecting to die. Inadvertently, that might make me play less than optimal sometimes. To me, there's no point in sweating or going all out when the game is designed for solo queue to lose more than they win. It's almost like clockwork at this point whereby I know when to bring BPS and escape cake because I know I'm due for an easier game/s and when to not bother wasting my offerings because I'm due for a more difficult one. There's no in-between.
-
Remove stacking. MFT + Hope shouldn't be a thing. I don't really have an opinion on the endurance aspect except to say it probably didn't need it, I feel like the 3% haste is a good enough perk.
-
I actually feel the same. I'm just playing whenever the desire strikes me at this point. Likely just burn out, it happens.
-
I keep track of my game stats and don't see campers much at all. So I don't anticipate much of a change in kill rates. I don't expect to escape more as a survivor with the anti-camp change.
-
Solo queue is the kill-rate fodder. We are supposed to lose a lot. I suspect that's why matchmaking is so bad, I think that's intentional.
-
I had a weird moment yesterday where I went into a lobby with the killer and 2 other survivors, but we waited like 8 minutes (no joke) for a 4th survivor to be added. The games before and after that one were fine though, so I dunno if something was being messed around with.
-
I wouldn't say a mistake, as I understand why they did it, but I can say I enjoyed the game alot more before it - and I never used the meta perks, so the perk changes meant nothing to me. But change isn't necessary a bad thing and all you can do is adapt to it.

Distortion is perfectly fine as is. I’m saying this as a killer who loves aura perks. There are plenty of survivor builds that completely counter killer builds and vice versa. It isn’t that big of a deal having to track survivors the old fashioned way.
if it really bothers you just run Xeno’s new locker perk. Completely counters Distortion.
Also remember that if the survivor going against a killer without Aura reading they’re basically playing with only 3 perks. Distortion is completely fine and the buff was much needed imo
"It isn’t that big of a deal having to track survivors the old fashioned way"
Good point. Aura perks are handy but people shouldn't crutch on them.
-
I think that's just the risk you take. I've brought Distortion many times in the past and the killer has had no aura perks so it's been a wasted slot/perk. If you run aura perks, you'll have plenty of games I'm sure where no one has Distortion but the odd game where they do is just part of the risk.

it does not, i play killer mainly and can say for sure survivor prestige has zero correlation to his skill level. I can obliterate full p100 lobby(happened only twice, but still, both were 4k for me), horribly lose to zero prestige.
If i ever dodge, its when i have 4 survivors with the same skin. It does not neccesary mean its SWF that will destroy me, but its just annoying to deal with them, since you cant memorize them having exhaustion perk, BT, etc...
Then hiding prestige changes nothing for you, since you can still just dodge 4mans in the same skins
-
I managed it as a solo player without difficulty. Just sit on a gen near where the killer is in chase with someone else and jump in once they go down. Made easier by Scourge Hooks as killers usually would go for them.

that wasn't even a reply to you...
I know that. But the point of your post was that people are DCing too early without seeing whether the SM they're facing is 3 genning or not, and that based on your experience theyre more often not. And I'm saying that is not my experience.
-
I don't know what it is for me, perhaps it's a combination of things atm (including vaulting and questionable hits), but I'm struggling to play. Even watching streamers play doesn't appeal to me anymore, which it always did even when burned out. I was so excited about the Alien chapter but that lasted maybe a day or so. Maybe I just need a proper break/breather.

100% of the sm I faced did not 3 gen.
they chased and killed the survivors. or tried to at least.
let me put emphasis on this... ONE HUNDRED PERCENT.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIEMdQSMEEM
so no. stop dcing the second you see her. it is not justifiable until you see they are in fact holding the 3 gen. at which point, you do you.
honestly... this must be a regional thing. people keep saying they see her everyday holding a 3 gen, why do I not see any?
I don't DC against SMs and as I said above - I've had only *2* since her release that did not 3 gen from the start. So no, people aren't just automatically DCing against her. I'm happy for you though that you've had a positive experience.
-
You get very little for your time investment in a SM game, that's for sure
-
It's amusing you think complaints have anything to do with it. BHVR have their own stats they abide by. If a killer is underperforming they'll get buffed. If they're overperforming they'll get nerfed. If they're in a spot the devs are happy with then they'll stay the same.

I actually did have a Skull Merchant say postgame that their goal was "to waste your time as much as possible". We 4 outed in 25 minutes. This is a rare case where a killer needs to be disabled until they're reworked. I haven't run into a Skull Merchant who played the game normally in over a month, and I usually run into one every day. Every single one that I run into is playing a 3 gen hostage game.
We know why the killswitch exists. We're asking for an exception to be made. This killer is only being played by griefers 90% of the time.
This is my experience too. She was released at the start of the year, it's now September and I've had *2* SM not try drag the game out. Only 2. And I don't duck out until everyone else starts to, so I do wait and see how they're playing. The ones who drag the game out also don't want to hook, which tells me they're purposely doing it as a form of griefing.
-
Dunno about OP but my ear drums do not like screaming perks and I feel like they're just increasing. CS is such a mediocre perk, I hate having to equip it over better stuff but no choice
-
Happened in the most recent update. It's just a test on some accounts.

Resilience be getting more customers lately LMAO
Used it a handful of times but think it's gonna have to stay in my build because the vaults are bs
-
Yeah I pretty much gave up a medkit because i couldn't even heal myself while doing the challenge
-
I keep playing as normal. Sometimes we manage with 3 people to get gens done, but more often than not I just treat the game as a bloodpoints game. I'll take time to cleanse totems and open chests. I basically accept that I'll die that round so try make it worth my while.
-
Depends on which killer. I'm better at some than others. I mostly play survivor though so am a very average killer, so losing doesn't bother me because I expect it most of the time. If I put more hours into my killers of choice then I'd perform better. But I don't put the time in.
-
Okay I'm actually taking a break now from survivor because all I'm getting are xenos 🤣

@Yodakhiin said:
So new players get stunned by p100... That's ridiculous..
What you're missing is that the primary reason new players get P100 opponents is because the P100s were lobby dodged by killers the matchmaking system matched them with. Eventually the game prioritises queue time over matchmaking, and backfills the position. So the fault lies with the more experienced killer who decided they wanted to try find easier survivors and lobby dodged. So if prestige is hidden, lobby dodging should lessen, and the likelihood of new killers getting experienced survivors should decrease.
-
@Nirgendwohin said:
My escape rate declined but i cant blame my teammates for that. i noticed there is hardly any lobby dodging anymore.
You'd need to test it for longer than one day. A couple months ago I had a week where my escape rate was 10%. Over a longer period of time though it had settled on 27% (last I checked anyway). You could just be having a bad day.
-
Mandy said that it's not a bug, it's currently being tested on various player accounts
-
Hopefully intentional and not a bug
-
Jeez he even had time to make a mistake (start to go in the other direction), recover, *and* get the hit lol

This is honestly a new experience for me as I can't recall any killer release with this much of an issue with immediate tunneling. Skull merchant tunneled her 3 gen maybe (and still does) but I can't recall a killer having a release this bad. I'm not really sure why as the killer seems decent once learned and wouldnt extending chases make more sense from a learning standpoint so you can know how to approach any survivor counter play? Maybe I'm just more of a technical learner
I don't know why either, but I don't personally see alot of tunnelling in my games so that might be why I take more notice of it when I see an increase. And for me there's always a noticeable increase when a new killer is released. I agree it seems detrimental to learning, and I don't think this killer is hard to learn, but I think winning ultimately is what matters most to a lot of people so they'll do whatever they can to get that result.
-
^ what they said. It's common whenever a new killer releases. People don't know how to use the power yet but they still want to win. Plenty of us - myself included - aren't tunnelling while we learn but I'm just saying it's not unexpected and it should calm down within a few weeks. Whether that's because people familiarise themselves with the killer or because they drop it and go back to the killer/s they normally play is anyone's guess.

Thanks for this

Sorry, but you probably don't know this community well enough.=)
I don't know as well, but I can tell 1 thing for sure: Not everyone play "scummy", nor "toxic" towards the others.
I even think that most of the playerbase of this game (high mmr or low) playing respectfully to other side.
Also: "In each family there is a troglodite", no matter what game you play, you will find such "scummy players", the only thing we can do is just shake it off and move on to the next match.
I never said "everyone" plays scummy. I said some people will read the OP and purposely play contradictory, because many people in this community have a "your fun is not my responsibility" attitude. I've posted countless times here that I rarely see tunnelling and camping in my survivor games, and as such those things don't bother me, so I agree most people play respectfully. But that's not what I was saying in my post.
My point was that asking the community to play (or not play) in a certain way is futile. Ask people to not abuse a new exploit, they will. Ask people to not abuse a new meta and drag games for an hour (see gen kick meta), they will. Topics around tunnelling are common in the community and often devolve fast because - surprise - people don't like being told how to play.
-
If I know this community as well as I think I do, then many people will read your post and purposely play scummy just because. I feel like no one hates this game as much as its playerbase.
-
Thanks for the replies!
I do feel like it falls into a grey area. There was no farming attempt, it's more like they wanted to keep me in limbo until they could ensure the 4k. Obviously they couldn't search and keep an eye on me at the same time, so I was able to patter around and progress the game intermittently. But one time after they told me to stay off the gens, I waved them over to the hook and pointed at it, they still shook their head no and floated off. I just sighed and went back to the gen lol didn't appreciate the situation though

Then default Xeno would also clip through because the hive queen skin doesn't change the height while in match.
You sure? It's definitely bigger in store compared to the other skins
-
I just had 6 xenos in a row
-
I had a bot today that I couldn't heal, and it wasn't broken or anything. It kept coming up to me and I'd walk around it and it had no heal prompt despite being injured. It also stole my medkit at one point - I unhooked it and it immediately put down the medkit it was carrying, so when I went to try heal it I instead picked up its empty medkit and put my full one down in its place. Then it picked up my medkit and ran off 🤨
-
I think 'it' since they don't have a gender afaik. Though I do think of the queen as a she.

No.
Some killers will back off if they think you're new. If they pick you up and let you wiggle off then swing, that usually means they just want to chase, not give up your teammate.
Nah they definitely wanted me to give up the team mate. At first i thought they wanted to chase me but as i kept running, they kept looking around instead of staying on me (opening lots of lockers too). When I first hopped on a gen I was seeing if they just wanted to farm, but they'd tell me to get off then shake their head and get in between me and the gen. As soon as they found and downed the other survivor they immediately came and hooked me.
It was a Pumpkin head nurse
-
Someone on the forum had an idea that I thought was pretty good. They said to rework her drones similar to Knight's guards and have them do different things. So one can be stationary, another can lock onto a survivor and follow them, and so on. That way they can't just throw all their drones up over gens.
-
I mostly play survivor and am very average at killer, but I've played Xeno a fair bit today and I don't find the turrets bothersome at all. At first they were because I honestly forgot all about them until there were flames in my face but now I expect them and am prepared.

I have no clue why someone would pick a new killer and just hook camp at 5 gens. I was genuinely shocked when I saw it. They didn't even want to try out Alien's power lmao
Dunno, but it's just what I've come to expect after every new killer release and so far my expectations have been met. Most of those people will give up on Xeno eventually and go back to playing whoever they normally play with.
-
I've played a few games as Xeno. First game they were annoying but a couple games later they're okay. I just assume there is one near any gen so I'm prepared for it.
-
Tunnelling and camping after a new killer release is standard. I always see an increase for a couple weeks. It's because most people are still learning the killer and arent very good with them, but they also still want to win so they'll use those tactics as opposed to copping some losses while they learn.
-
@LadyOwO said:
I hate how the turrets don't force the xeno to drop the survivor after getting blasted by FLAMES . Solid Design choice/s
A survivor could just bring Saboteur and set the turrets near any Scourge Hooks and potentially cancel out a killer perk. Or even just near any hooks closest to the gens being worked on.
-
It's okay, you still have players like me who run into traps laying in the open in the full Coldwind sun 😅

Of course not. Have you seen some of the stuff that people type in the endgame chat? Imagine what they would say if we had in-game voice chat.
Yeah I was watching Angry Pug play and some guy started spewing racist crap at the person playing Sonny. People left the lobby but imagine hearing that in a DBD game and DCing and then having to cop a penalty because you don't want to play with and listen to someone talking like that. As far as I'm aware, TCM has no DC penalty so you don't have to put up with the people playing with you if you don't want to. You're kind of stuck with them in DBD.
